The Death Weapon Meister Academy. Popularly known as the DWMA. It is an institution to train weapons and meisters, established by Death, to prevent Kishin, the demon gods who plunged the entire world into the depths of terror, drove people into a maelstrom of madness, and nearly destroyed everything from ever being born again. The gist of it is, it's an organization of justice, to keep the peace.

Why is it a technical school anyway?

Hey there! For those who haven't figured it out yet, this is a Soul Eater RP, based off of the Soul Eater anime. If you haven't seen the anime before or are a little bit rusty with your weeb-ness, fear not! I'll give you a quick run-down right now. If you don't need to be refreshed, then I guess just skip ahead.

Soul Eater is an anime about the DWMA, an academy in Death City, Nevada (fictional, for those who don't know) that teaches meisters and weapons. Meisters are individuals who can wield weapons, and weapons are individuals that can transform their bodies into a variety of weapons. Meisters wielding weapons then go out to kill and take the souls of 99 Kishin Souls (evil people, basically) and 1 witch (like the one with the hat) to make their weapon into a Death Scythe (note: Death Scythe does not have to be a scythe in particular.) For more information, I'd recommend watching the anime (it's on Netflix) or just going through the wiki (be warned, the anime and manga are different. we're mainly basing ourselves off the anime.)

This RP will basically be the main story of the anime, but with a twist- with the exception of the teachers and Death himself, the cast of characters is entirely new- all OCs.

People seem to want to have rules for whatever reason...I'm going to trust that you can handle yourselves. Don't take over the roleplay, nothing too insane in terms of characters, don't be a jerk, stay active, etc.

As for posting, this is casual, so post when you think you need to, as much as required. When it comes to describing your character, I'd like length, but while interacting, less can mean more, so do what you think there.

Personality
Zander is a fairly laid back, optimistic person. It is rare for him to not be smiling, and he tends to try and go out of his way to lighten everyone else's moods as well.

However, if there's one thing that annoys him, its when something interrupts or otherwise cuts into his relaxation time, which in his own words, is unquestionably sacred. He values sleep and rest heavily, and anyone who gives him too much sass about it will quickly learn what it's like to be on the bad side of a guy who is built like a hippo, moves like a spider monkey, and constantly tries to bury his anger.

Backstory
Zander's life, when compared to many others, has actually been fairly tame. Shortly after his birth, his parents, a skilled weapon and meister couple, died while on a mission. This led to his placement in an orphanage, where he was closely watched by employees of the DWMA just in case he turned out to be a demon weapon like his mother.

Sure enough, that turned out to be the case, and he quickly got taken in by Sid Barrett, who had been close friends with his parents. Over the years, Sid helped him learn to control his abilities, as well as teaching him how to fight somewhat effectively without needing to become a weapon.

When he finally ended up joining the academy proper, people quickly learnt that he was surprisingly capable despite his large size and blatant laziness.

Weapon Form Description
Zander looks like a simple, yet very large three section spear. His blades are curved, similar to a naginata, and each section is around two metres long. It is also entirely possible to retract his chains, connecting the three sections to use him like a normal double-bladed spear.

Miscellaneous Abilities/Skills
He is surprisingly agile considering his size and weight, leading to him being given the nickname Acrofat.

He is capable of transforming his arms into the two bladed sections of his staff form, chains included, allowing him to fight even without his meister. However, he prefers not to do this, however, as the way they hang from the chains can make it difficult to properly control, and he worries he might accidentally hurt himself or someone else.

He is a startlingly good cook.

Peter Halloway stands at a tall 6'1", on the skinnier side, not much muscle but rough calloused hands from working at a mechanic shop. Weighing in at around 155 lbs. Stylishly cut brown hair, close to his head. Wears square black frame glasses, and often seen in formal wear. Bright blue eyes. His formal wear carries onto his school uniform, having picked the most formal amongst the uniforms provided by DWMA. Black suit jacket adorned with the Death skull on his right breast pocket, white dress shirt, and black slacks.

Henry Halloway stands at a tall 6'1" dips an inch because of his slouch, a little pudge on his stomach, his fingertips are often dry and rough from finger picking while playing the guitar. Weighing in at around 165 lbs. His hair long and straight, dips down to his lower back. Often keeps it down but loves to occasionally braid it or put it up in a bun. Chooses to wear contact lenses instead of glasses. His style is often clothing he dug through at a thrift store save for the band shirts he collects from a concert or scrounges up used. Bright blue eyes. His uniform is the long sleeved dress shirt unbuttoned with his favourite band shirt beneath it and a pair of black jeans.

Peter has a sharp mouth on him, very observant in and out of a fight. His flirtatious nature can sometimes come off rather corny at times, but his string of past relationships both starting and ending in healthy ways really spoke volumes more of his ability to be a rather considerate in a relationship. His interest in weapon lineage, cars and fashion round out his life outside of the Academy. A good head on his shoulders easily the most disciplined twin, eager to see through collecting two hundred souls with his brother.

Henry is on the sensitive side, astutely aware of other people's moods and shifts. Though not enough to get in the way of Peter's more abrasive personality traits. They agree on most things but will pull him aside to set a record straight if need be. A good buffer for his brother. Content to go with the flow until someone tries to control or restrict his ability to learn. Can't stand authority figures, shows to have a snarky side when he feels like he's being leashed. He does take advantage of the immense resources that DWMA offers its students, but his outward appearance would suggest otherwise his knowledge base is subpar. He loves to prove those assumptions wrong.

Backstory
Twins born and raised in Cincinnati, Indiana USA. Their weapon abilities manifested around the same time, Peter's was first and Henry's followed shortly after him at the age of 12. An awkward first couple of years adjusting to the magnetic pulls and pushes of his abilities, before too long him and his brother were sent to DWMA to learn to control their new powers. Their parents encouraging for their development. It was after their first year of attending DWMA that their mother passed away in her sleep due to a unfortunate aneurysm caused by blood thinning medication, when a fall resulted in a unchecked ruptured vein in her brain. Her death was abrupt, and gave the twins no chance to say goodbye. The completely preventable causes of her death simply rubbed salt in the wound.

Their mother’s passing cut deeply for the young brothers, processing their grief in their own unique ways. Initially they had planned to separate once they enrolled at DWMA, it took some convincing from Peter to ahead with their original plan eventually Henry conceded, admitting to being terrified of losing his brother in a similar way without the chance to say goodbye.

Freedom to have time to himself and a meister partner helped Henry open up, helped him grow outside of his crutch that was depending on his brother. In his grief found himself taking comfort of their mother's passing in studying Pneumatology, the study of the soul. A subject usually reserved for meisters to know but Henry had taken to it with great interest. Without Peter there to constantly nag him over how he dressed or how he groomed himself, Henry quite literally let those things go. Choosing a laid back lifestyle to match his attitude. He was never a huge fan of combat training, or athleticism. Instead he focused on his grades. Some would call him a couch potato but his mind was as sharp as some of the top grading students in EAT classes, and the test scores showed for it.

While Peter showed detail orientated intelligence and picked up studying weapon lineages with interest. Ever since arriving to Death City Peter showed an intense interest in vintage cars and had a knack for working on engines in his spare time. He was hired at a local mechanic's shop part time as an apprentice. From there they dragged in a shell of a 1968 Ragtop Chevy Camaro telling him that was his project. Peter worked night and day on that car, scraping together his meager paychecks to save and afford the parts he needed. He replaced leather upholstery, did custom paint jobs, and rebuilt the engine from scratch. When it was complete he had his full driver's licence and drives it everywhere. Often says it as his favourite place to be.

In the first few years working with different partners they really grew as people and individuals. Their differences growing more stark each year, but never once straining their bond as twins. It wasn't until they decided to come back together, finding their effectiveness was exponentially upped when they fought together.

Together now they settled on their newest meister partner. How well they fared as a trio would surely show a great deal of ambition in their partner, willingly taking the workload of turning not one but two weapons into death scythes. Creating a death scythe being a common goal for all EAT students.

Opposite to his brother Henry. His blade in weapon form is grey steel, embedded in the base of the blade just above the hilt is the positive + symbol. The blade glows blue, along with the symbol when Peter resonates with his meister. The blade itself grows in a few inches of length, along with the steel band on the meister's wrist growing larger to protect more surface area, the wristband has the positive + symbol embedded in it.

Henry's soul is largely if not completely negative in magnetic charge. Opposite to his brother Peter. His blade in weapon form is dark black steel, embedded in the base of the blade just above the hilt is the negative - symbol. The blade glows blue, along with the symbol when Henry resonates with his meister. The blade itself grows in a few inches of length, along with the steel band on the meister's wrist growing larger to protect more surface area, the wristband has the negative - symbol embedded in it.

Shared Abilities/Skills:

Sensing Soul Charge:
Due to their nature as a soul magnet, Henry and Peter can sense the charge of the soul. Different from soul perception, they cannot discern shape or moral alignment.

Soul Lasso:
When Peter and Henry have sensed a soul for its magnetic alignment they can be thrown around their target to create a lasso for their meister to pull. Depending on the strength of the soul, (if it is resonating, large in general, or witch’s soul) would affect their ability to pull them, stronger souls require higher soul resonance.

Magnet Push
A full force of a push against the target's soul directly. Individually magnet push only works on the similar charge of their own soul charge. Peter can only push against positive soul charged targets and Henry can only push against negatively soul charged targets.

Magnet Pull:
An undirected pull, similar to Soul Lasso and the opposite of magnet push. When used together they can pull around any target, as individuals they can only pull their opposite in soul charge.

Basic Combat Training:
Henry knows how to defend himself, though lacks muscle to do so successfully. While Peter knows how utilize himself well enough if they are isolated. Henry usually defaults to his weapon form to be wielded by Peter in a fight away from their meister. Peter took combat classes for weapons regularly while he attends DWMA.

First Aid Training:
Both twins know how to apply first aid.

Peter's Unique Skills:

Misc Skills - Driving/Mechanical skills:
Peter knows how to drive and works part time at a local mechanic's shop. He rebuilt his blue 1968 Chevy ragtop Camaro from scraps. Considered generally talented after working there for a few years. The Camaro is his pride and joy.

Henry's Unique Skills:

Information Sponge:
Henry is considered the 'smart' brother of the two, soaks up information, classes, and new subjects like a sponge. Much prefers learning what he needs to know from a book then the hard way in a dojo.

Misc Skill - Guitar Player:
He loves music and loves to play music. Owns an acoustic guitar and is often seen practicing, he is quick to pick up on new songs.

Soul Resonance:

Soul Resonance Technique - Complete the Circuit:
Fully synchronized with their weapon partners, they affectionately dub it Complete the Circuit. Their weapon forms grow in size, begin to glow and with immense concentration, practice and honing of skill they are able to project a magnetic field as their meister's soul swells in size. Their techniques become more powerful, strong souls they weren't able to budge before now resist a noticeable pull/push on their soul.

Experimental Technique - Static Shield
An experimental technique the twins have attempted with past partners. The Static Shield can be described as a soul charge crackling across their meister's body. By quickly pushing and pulling against the meister's soul in a strange inverse soul resonance they create a static charge around their body to protect from stray projectiles, rough falls, and restraints. In its current form, with a strong enough soul resonance they can roughly get their meister's entire body outlined but it often drains the meister's stamina.

Extra
As iterated in their backstory, Peter and Henry are the most effective when used in conjunction. While they do show some potential as individuals, they are best suited together. As they sense soul charge, no individual is without both positive and negative soul charge, even as opposites both twins have a sliver of their opposite soul charge. Their meister will have a largely balanced soul charge of both positive and negative, able to wield both successfully.

The twins do maintain a good relationship with their father, Jack Halloway whom makes frequent trips to Death City to visit his sons. The twins currently reside in the DWMA dormitories.

Ozen is tall, average weight and with a slight muscle definition due to her active life style. Ever since her birth Ozen has been blind in her right eye, so she keeps a patch over the eye to keep it hidden. The eye just appears as a pale green while her good eye is a deep sea green.
Her hair is strawberry blonde and long enough to reach her lower back but she will almost always have it tied up into a ponytail or in some style to keep it held up.

Personality
Ozen can be easy to get along with but she is untrusting towards new people and it can be hard to get her to open up about how she feels. Loyalty to her friends is a strong quality of hers and she expects the same from those close to her, she believes this to a point if naivety and will not believe someone if she is told they betrayed her. When Ozen is angered she tends to act more reckless and brash, preferring to be upfront in a confrontation and not go behind someone's back.

Backstory
Ozen hails from the wintery northern state Alaska where she claims thay she grew up wrestling Yetis and had a pet Polar bear named Fuzzlebutt. These claims are untrue, well she did have a white cat named Fuzzlebutt. Ozen did grow up in cold northern state of Alaska with her father and brother. There was never many other kids to play with in the small town she lived in so Ozen spent most of her time with her older brother, the two of them growing close as they would explore the Alaskan wilds around their home town together.
Because their mother died when Ozen was young and they did not have contact with her relatives so it was a surprise when Ozen's brother turned out to be a Demon Weapon, a development that got him a spot at DWMA and separated the siblings when he was old enough to go to the school. Her brother being so far away distanced Ozen from her brother but she tried to keep in contact with him, the two sending letters to each other each week until one day she never got a reply.
In a letter from Death, Ozen learned that her brother and his Miester had disappeared and were MIA after taking on the task of killing a witch. It broke her heart to hear of her brother's possible death and for months she mourned him.
When Ozen turned 12 years old she developed her first signs of being a Demon Weapon just like her brother and hope was renewed in her soul. She took it as a chance to go to DWMA herself and find her lost sibling.

Weapon Form Description
Witchbane is a massive 6 foot long motorized saw blade. Her weapon form acts very similiar to a heavy bastard sword or great sword. She has three activation modes; Standby, half throttle, and full throttle. The amount of 'fuel' she has is based on Ozen's own carb intake so she often eats food like pasta or bread before a fight when she can.


Miscellaneous Abilities/Skills
Ozen has had some self defence training from teachers at DWMA but she is much better utilized as a weapon in the hands of a Meister until she can better control changing specific parts of her body. Her sense of fashion can be useful to others who are interested in looking good and she can rock the eye patch look. Ozen is also as strong as someone five times her size, useful when you need someone to move a couch.

Her long limbs give her a willowy figure, though she's had a recent upgrade in her bust department (much to her dismay). Vanille is notorious for being an airhead. Her thought process is very different, often leaving people baffled when she somehow comes to the same conclusion. She prefers dozing off during classes, finding it difficult to focus on the lessons when she hardly ever understands what's going on. Complicated conversations also get her bored, though once in a while she will indulge them. She's excitable, cheerful, and easy going. She's very understanding, surprisingly enough, and empathetic, unafraid to speak her mind regardless of the topic at hand.

Backstory
Vanille doesn't remember much about her childhood, though she knows that she was happy living with her parents and older brother. Her life was mostly uneventful, until the age of ten when she encountered her first Witch. Having no combat skills at the time, she fled, though an attack from the Witch sent her into a nearby river. When she regained consciousness, she learned about what happened, though rather then blame the Witch who attacked her, she was frightened by nearly drowning.
Soon after, she enrolled into the Academy. For a few years, she had no idea what was happening, earning her airhead reputation as most realized she didn't have a clue. Once she entered combat training, however, she felt that she had found her calling.

Lars is a young man with slightly messy black hair with brown eyes. He has somewhat pale skin as he spends more time training in doors than out in the field. He has no noticeable scars, and is not notably handsome in the slightest being described as average. He tends to wear darker brown, and black clothes though he truly doesn't care as long as it's not overly flamboyant. He tends to wear bulkier clothes though to cover up his somewhat thin build.

Personality
Cold, distant, and deathly quiet Lars does not do well with social situations. A blunt weapon by any other words he is a dangerous young man. He doesn't fool around, and he fails to exude any sort of childish delight. Having been brought up by his parents as a warrior he has grown more comfortable hurting other people than he would if he were simply talking to them. Lars for lack of a better word is a psychopath. He cares little for people in general one which makes soul resonance a hard concept for him when it comes to strangers. However on the other side it also makes him more applicable because of his lack of emotion he can become a vessel for a weapon who is capable of suppressing their feels, or focusing on the fight at hand. He hates the concept of needless cruelty preferring quick, and professional work to long drawn out fights and as such is not afraid to fight dirty. He has a deep seated impatience for people who try to press their ideals onto him, especially those who espouse friendship. To him it is a concept that is mentally impossible for him to comprehend as one friend can be a strength but also a massive hindrance. One could be willing to give up everything for a friend and receive nothing in return. With that being said he also can form attachments, albeit loose ones with some who are willing to work with him as he wants. His weapon is an example of that while an opposite of him he is willing to fight to bring the battle to a swift conclusion. Pragmatic is always better than experimental in his opinion.

Backstory
Born in a seclude area of the world Lars family is a family full of mercenaries, and warriors. His mother, and father were both strong mercenaries who made their name crushing evil creatures, and fighting for crime bosses in some cases. However they were all completely functional human beings who were capable of enjoying their lives. Lars was born with a defect like was the case in his father's family. Occasionally passed down, and appearing every so often some family members would be born colder than others. This was due to their lineage being traced down to the cold blooded killer named Death Hand who was a renown killer many generations ago. These kids weren't special but due to their lack of emotion towards others made for great destroyers, and warriors. His parents did their best to try and instill a kindness in their child to have him become 'normal' by every day terms. But he simply wasn't he couldn't understand the other kids around him at playgrounds. He never cared to make friends. He simply...existed for lack of a better term.

The only notable friend would be the young man who would become his weapon as a meister. A boy named Andrew Lawson who would accept him,
and look to him for help. Their life together as partners would start the day Lars stood up to a group of bullies who were picking on Lawson for being weak. Lars hating those who pick on those lesser than themselves came in, and forced the bullies to back down having a better understanding of how to hurt a person than others his age. Andrew would become a companion to Lars from that point forward not only to prevent himself from being picked on but to help Lars develop as a human once he found out how cold Lars actually was. The two grew up as any two normal kids would grow up albeit more distanced than others. However Lars used his free time to train, and practice combat, and attack methods in doors with his parents, and their partners. Learning many dirty, and shady tactics, and fighting techniques Lars became more, and more dangerous which made it all the more important when included with his mental issues. Though many would think him to grow up to be a monster, or a monster like a kishin.

However he simply did not he lacked the ambitious drive to truly go, and desire hunger. He simply wished to live a life of a mercenary. Fight, win, and get paid. Live life as he must, and not get dragged on any vain glorious crusades. However as he grew older his parents were reached out to by The DWMA in order to become a meister there. Owing a favor to the group his father allowed them to take the young meister to the academy. Andrew heard of this, and went with him as they were also looking for young weapons. Becoming a pair officially now as a weapon, and a meister the two now prepare for a new adventure.

Andrew is a young man with bright blue eyes, and a kind demeanor. He is one to frown often and is often found smiling. He has shaggy brown hair, and a skinny build. He is paler than his partner having spent most of his life as a monk praying with his 'father'. He is a very gangly fellow being tall, and frail looking. He usually wears a long white coat, and a simple shirt underneath. His pants are likewise plain sweatpants that lack complication. For all intents and purposes he is a rather unassuming young man.

Personality
Bright, friendly, and willing to offer help to others one may see Andrew as a great young man who is willing to stick out his neck for others. He trusts people but not implicitly when he gives a person trust it is only temporary until earned. He does though have compassion willing to assist the weak if possible assuming it does not play a part in a greater evil. One could sum up Andrew as a person as this: a good person but a pragmatic warrior. He only does things within reason and though he is a kind man who loves to help others he knows evil is a very real concept that must be purged. Though he is no zealot he very firmly believes in this. And while he does not like to take other lives he has accepted this as a possibility that he must take up on in life.

Backstory
Born to a group of famous weapons known for their ability to 'purge the darkness' young Andrew was instead brought up in a orphanage. His parents lost to some unknown cause he spent his life as a child growing up in a simple monastery outside of a secluded town. Trained by Father Wilson in the methods of kindness he, and the other children spent time helping those who couldn't help themselves. Father Wilson was a ex-meister who lost his weapon, and dear friend, and chose to spend the rest of his life in dedication to his god, and to help those in need. Of course being a talented former hunter Wilson imparted his ideals of pragmatic behavior onto his students, and charges. One should not help others at the expense of destroying themselves. One could help others more by surviving to another day. This was the edict that young Andrew grew up with and though he did not understand it initially he grew to live by it later. As a young child he was a quiet, and unassuming boy who was often picked of for having no parents, and for not standing up for himself. He took all of it viewing himself as worthless. It wasn't until Lars showed up that fateful day to save him from the worst of the bullies. That day he decided to follow Lars to try and help him as repayment as per his own conduct as dictated by Father Wilson. Though Lars never felt the need to have a debt hanging over his head. He tried to help Lars the only way he could as a weapon. Wilson had been teaching him the ways of being a capable weapon though Andrew hated the concept. When Lars was taken as a repayment to the DWMA Andrew joined in as a weapon in an attempt to help his friend settle in more.

Weapon Form Description
A fairly a typical general use sword one can use it for power blows, or a stabbing motions. It can be used as a one handed, or two handed weapon as well allowing for versatility. The real use of the blade however is a counter 'to all that is evil' for those who are 'corrupted' in morality, or thinking the sword acts as a protection against such. Forming a protective energy barrier that faces forward, and projecting slashes of energy into the air. The infamous trade mark of the Gold Brand Family as Andrew is a part of. It does significantly less damage to those who are not darkened by their own desires, or mentality. The energy blasts are enough to smash earth, and rock though the range is limited to short, and medium range being impractical to use a longer distances.
