Here is a map to the World of Hunter x Hunter. The link provided shoots you to a more in-depth inspection of those countries. There are a few places not marked on there; our Meteor City is one of them. When creating your characters, use this link wisely to craft the convincing lives of our stars.

The Hunter Association is the non-government organization that provides license and testing for Hunters. Hunters are individuals with unique traits or elite examples of humanity. I'm sure you understand the complexity of the selection process: The Hunter Exams. If you're interested in joining this RP and don't understand then I suggest you prepare to do a lot of reading :D

Nen or Mind Force is the source of a individual's preternatural abilities. There is a lot of information that goes with Togashi's concept of aura. I will do my best to get to the meat of it all. A person who utilizes Nen is referred to a Nen User. Typically, one who learns Nen on their own would never obtain the level of one taught by a master of said art. The easiest way to obtain the truth of Nen is going through the rigorous Hunter Exam. Learning Nen the correct way is the final part of said exam. Aura and its typing are paramount when learning Nen. There are six types:

• Enhancer
• Transmuter
• Conjurer
• Emitter
• Manipulator
• Specialist

Be sure to read up on your Nen type as you're developing your character. Other sources of power includes On and Nen Beasts. These two are rather difficult to acquire and easily OP. However if you manage to make sense as to why or how you would have such powers I will allow them.

Personality Birdy is an excitable high spirited person, with a loud laugh and a lovely voice. She tends to rock a smile, however she is emotional and tends to switch between happy and angry quickly and with little warning. After a life of struggle from growing up in Meteor City, between the Mafia's expectations and not having an identity recognized by the people she fought for a place among the stars. Throwing away her position with the Mafia's Shadow Beasts, she found an inner strength and confidence she didn't know she had. When she entered the world of stardom, she took to it in ways she never would have expected. While the Organization left its marks on her, and she'll enter a state of emotionless-seeming apathy at times, especially in battle, she tends to hold the important people close.

Appearance: Birdy is 5' 6" tall, and weighs 154 lbs. She is of average appearance though when on stage she rocks make up to look more "glamorous" and "star-like" as a way of hiding from the Mafia. Most of the time Birdy has an expression of happiness. Birdy tends to wear comfortable clothing outside of her concerts, while she rocks a more refined or "out there" appearance on stage, depending on what the performance is about. Hoodies, jeans, and graphic t-shirts are common, though sweaters or cardigans also make an appearance as well. For the most part, her body is blemish free, though she has a major burn scar across her back from a glancing blow using nen when she was younger.

Backstory: Growing up in Meteor City wasn't the worse place despite it being a literal dump. Birdy had access to people who'd kill for her, even if they'd kill her as well. She had elected to go to the mafia at 14 and was given access to training from them when she was 16. While she was being trained in Ten at 17 years old she was hit an accidental glancing blow across the back from getting to close to a sparring match between nen-users which forcefully opened her remaining aura nodes. While she had been nearly killed, she survived with minor wounds considering. Her back was not permanently handicapped, though it will forever be scarred, and certain types of stretching are outside of her ability. Seeing a young woman have her nen awakened at such a young age excited the Mafia leaders as they thought they could train the perfect bodyguard for them. Thus, her advanced training began.

In the beginning of her training, Birdy's natural personality caused her to have several screaming matches with her trainers, and as her strength in nen grew, these matches began to become even more dangerous. After some time, the mafia conferred and decided that her abilities could be recognized as the beginnings of an attack. Hiring a vocal coach they began to train Birdy, then Banshee, on how to direct and control this ability. Teaching her how to use it in stronger ways by reinforcing her lungs and vocal cords to reach inhumanly high or low pitches, or the sound waves themselves to be stronger or faster alternatively at times. After some time, she began growing her repertoire of skills grow, and she rose through the ranks of nen users until she reached the Shadow Beasts.

Among the Shadow Beasts Birdy felt even more trapped than ever before. She was a young woman, living the life of the powerful, but the murders and lies began to eat at her. While she wasn't "down in the dumps" over these things, she believed there was more to life than following the direction of old men who didn't care about her. Between the two, she began plotting ways to leave the Organization. After some time she escaped into the waiting arms of a recording label. With her nen abilities at hand she was capable of quickly attaining fame through her voice and is now a fairly major voice among labels. Her lack of scandals and public appearances are her only defense against drawing the attention of the Mafia into looking deeper into who she is.

On a side note, at this time Birdy is NOT a licensed hunter.

Natural Abilities: Flexible through her body through years of training, except for her back which is not. Stronger than her slender figure would lead you to believe, especially when using Ryu. Martial Arts training gives her some advantage over various enemies. She is also an extremely powerful singer, naturally talented with years of vocal training to back it up.
Aura Type: Enhancer

Nen Ability: Most commonly Birdy will enhance her voice in various ways to instigate specific effects. Either striking an extremely high pitch to damage the hearing and balance of an enemy, to raising it to super-human volumes capable of destroying the brain itself if she is close enough. However she can also enhance the sounds from striking an opponent as well, causing extreme internal damage should she land a strike while using this attack, however this attack does take intense focus and she is easier to attack back at. At times she will clap her hands or snap her fingers which causes a sonic boom around her, a form of AoE attack that will knock back opponents, even killing weaker ones. Finally, from her training as a bodyguard she can increase her own hearing, being able to hear foot-steps from a distance of 500 meters and tell the difference between them, or voices clearly from the same distance. However, this skill is tempered by the concentration it takes. She is completely open at these times and cannot easily attack from this position as she can die if someone were to yell really nearby. She is not trained in En at this time, this is the closest she can get to it.

Personality: Magde is very hot headed. She is almost always irritated in some regard but that mostly stems from her hatred of her own homeland. She is usually alright to interact with though albeit easy to annoy. She may seem very rough and grumpy at first glance, but if you walk up to her and actually engage in conversation she can actually be quite a nice person. Just for your own sake do not mention her height, that is a surefire way to get on her shit list even if it's only as a minor offender. But if you really want to piss her off good then you'd use the word freak, Magde hates the word and everything it entails, and god help you if you use that word to describe her. If you are a friend she'll still be extremely upset if you use the word, even describing her as freakishly strong would piss her off to a great degree. She hates arrogant people, even if they have the power to back up their boasts she dislikes the fact that they see themselves as greater beings. Also if she witnesses someone hurting a dog she'll probably try and subtract their head from their shoulders.

Appearance: Magde is a towering colossus standing at an astronomical 7 feet and 5 inches and weighing almost 300lbs. She has a fairly shapely figure but nothing overly exaggerated, she is also fairly muscular but this is only visible when she is actively working her muscles or flexing. Her hair is normally its natural black colour but she may dye it from time to time, it extends down to just above her shoulders where her hair sits neatly. Magde eyes are a soft pink colour contrasting her size and abrasive personality. Most of the flesh on Magde's torso excluding her collar and neck is horribly scarred, this scarring also goes along most of her left thigh and past the keen on her right leg. Her shoulders are also covered in this scarred tissue but it stops about half way down her bicep, she wears long clothes to hide her unsightly skin. Aside from it being slightly different in texture it doesn't hurt or effect her movement.

Backstory: Magde is an orphan of Meteor city she was left by her parents before she was able to crawl. She hates her parents for leaving her but has no drive to try and find them. She was picked up by a group of debris scavengers a whole 24 hours after she was left for dead. From the young age of 6 she worked with them picking up and moving massive amounts of scrap and rubbish. She did very well and they people she worked for decided to give her a companion, Magde didn't seem to want to interact with any of the adults so they got her a dog as hoping she'd be able to have a friend. It worked perfectly and she loved this dog on first sight, his scruffy brown face made her smile no matter how sad she was feeling, the two of them became inseparable going everywhere together. Magde and Scruff were the best of friends for many years going on adventures and sharing scraps of food in the corner while the adults talked about work. Her life was fairly stable for about 3 years, her and Scruff went on many journeys together after work was finished but then one day Magde slipped and fell into a pit, she got horrible cut and bruised barely able to speak and next to her was some kind of highly toxic substance. She weakly called out for Scruff to go get help, she lay there for almost 3 hours slowly turning more and more pale as death closed in on her then she heard the familiar sound of barking in the distance but she passed out before she saw anything. When she woke up she was heavily bandaged and unable to move but she could still smile because of the big scruffy face that stood at the side of her bed.

She was bed ridden for a good year, and when she was finally out of bed the majority of her body was covered in putrid scarring, it was barely noticeable at the beginning. She was also notably taller then she was before, taller then she should have been even given the time that had past. She didn't think anything of her height at first but it was strange being a 5 foot 10 year old, she also felt like everything was lighter. This trend continued however and soon she was breaching 6 foot and 180lbs at the age of 14 at this point her scarring became more noticeable, due to her feeling so out of place she started closing up not talking to other people much at all, but she still loved Scruff nothing was going to change that. Then December the 11 of happened. She was working picking up comparatively huge pieces of scrap larger than anyone else was able to lift. She smiled at Scruff who would walk next to her he tail and head held high and his massive tongue dangling out of his mouth. Magde told him to go ahead because this was her last piece of scrap for today, Scruff then obediently ran ahead and around a corner, then there was crash and a whine followed by a wet crunch. Magde dropped the scrap she was carrying and bolted around the corner to find her best friend buried in a pile of junk that had fallen from the back of one of the many lined up dump trucks. The driver of the truck was standing there with his hands over his mouth horrified with his mistake. His truck was overloaded and the excess had just killed Magde's dog, Magde knelt down next to her dog who was on longer breathing, his death was quick not only was his body crushed but a sharpened pipe had gone through his skull.

Magde was absolutely furious she screamed and grabbed the jaw of the truck drive who was responsible for her best and only friends death.
She immediately crushed his lower jaw bone with the raw strength in her hand. Tears flowing down her face and blood covering her hand she then dropped the man and let out another scream of sorrow. She never really talked to many people for the next few years but that didn't stop her growing. The times she did speak was because it was needed. She was never the same again, shed gone from a happy girl to an empty husk that's only purpose was to move junk. Though in actuality she was just waiting, waiting for the right time to take the hunter exam. If she could get out of meteor city and explore the world, then maybe she'd be able to find somewhere that could make her happy. Because she absolutely hate Meteor City it'd never done anything for her besides give her Scruff, but it also took him away.

Natural Abilities: Magde heals rather quick (roughly twice as fast as normal) thanks to being exposed to some nasty things while trapped in the scrap this also caused her to become abnormally tall, strong and durable. This is taken further given her extensive injuries and strength training she'd gotten over the years from sifting through tonnes of scrap and garbage, She also does lots of exercise in her spare time when not scavenging. All this together has led to her being able to life ridiculous amounts of weight roughly 8 tonnes at her current maximum. Her stature makes her very intimidating to some, and the murderous glint in her eyes when angered also disturbs many people. She has no formal fighting training but she does know how to throw a solid punch.

Aura Type: Emitter

Nen Ability: Magde is a simple creature when it comes to using Nen (if she ever does). She most likely develop some kind of technique where she'd fire an intense blast from her mouth, as well as some way to build on her defences.

Personality:
Most would expect by appearance for Sora to be extremely detached and depressed. Well, at first she was like that, but quite the contrary, the girl has taken herself and used it as a source of optimism! Sora is rather goofy, fun loving, and kind, much like any child would be. Although a bit shy and quiet, she likes to make other people smile and help them out with their problems instead of focusing on her own. Because of her want to help and get to know others, she can be seen as nosy. She tries to stay happy, as she thinks it will make others want to be happy too. But despite this, Sora's feelings are easily hurt, resulting in her relapsing back into her old self and hiding away to be alone.

Some weird quirks that Sora possesses is that, contrary to the others before her, Sora is extremely patient, to the point were she'll stay in one place for days on end if someone told her to wait there. The girl is known for having a sleepy aura about her. As in, she's always tired, or at least appears to be. She'll sleep whenever and wherever she can, it usually causing problems for the other warriors; Yet another thing that could pose a problem would be the girl's knack for wandering off whenever she sees something interesting. All and all, Sora tries to make the best of every situation, but there are times where she easily loses face and has to be alone.

Appearance:
Sora is a small little girl standing around four feet tall and weighing below 80 pounds with long light purple hair that stops at her thighs, a right crystal blue eye, and a clouded gray left eye. She skin is a creamy white, although it's mottled with bruises and scars that are covered by bandages of all kinds. She normally had on varying dresses of multiple colors and doesn't really care if she has to wear something else for the sake of the situation. She's normally carrying around a tattered stuffed animal and a notebook, the same ones she receives when she was younger.

Backstory:
Sora had unknowingly been one of the lucky ones to live in Meteor City. While she didn't have any blood relatives with her, the girl was found by two older children that were already taking care of a group of kids, of course deciding to take Sora in and giving her the name that she has now since, as a toddler, she spent most of her time looking up at the sky.

With Meteor City being such a dump and all, the amount of things Sora found while rummaging through the trash and dirt was immense. Wanting to feign knowledge and intelligence, Sora begged her caregivers on their next run out for materials to find a book to help her learn how to read and write. What she was given in return was a blank notebook missing some pages, a dulled out pencil, and a dirty stuffed animal as way of apologizing not getting what she wanted.

Not knowing how to write and in need of something to read, Sora took it upon herself to write about her life and the people around them. They started of as crude pictures before moving onto simple sentences once someone sat her down and showed her what to do. She wrote about the simplest things, what someone ate for breakfast, how many steps they took to get to her, and what they wanted to do in the future; completely random things. Unknown to her, her nen slowly began to develop and manifest. She began realizing her powers when she went to write about the other children, only to see that the the notebook was already filled.

At first believing that it was just the other children playing a joke on her, Sora decided to venture out on her own and stay with someone she didn't know. The girl stalking an older man and waited patiently, staring at her notebook and waiting for it to react. It was only when she closed her eyes and opened them again only to see that the notebook had the information of a random. Confusion set in when she read that said person would stab her in the eye. Unsure of what to think of it, Sora tried to run away, only to bump right into said man, who reenacted the even prior word for word.

Sora had a power, and she knew she did at this point, and in attempts to learn more about the world around her and hopeful get money with this power, Sora left her family and situated herself among the outskirts of Meteor City, going from place to place and displaying her powers before returning back with the little money she obtained every visit.

Sora's only natural talent would be her ability to observe very minute details, being about to notices the slightest changes in emotion and such.

Aura Type: Specialist

Nen Ability:
Infinity Diary -- This ability is a lot like the random future diary in Mirai Nikki. Sora has a Nen infused notebook that can tell Sora the past, present, future, Nen ability, and basic random daily activities of the person of her choosing. In order for this ability to work, Sora has to know the person's full name, where they were born, some form of DNA, and a picture of them (if they aren't in front of her already). Sora has to write about herself in the notebook every day or else she would loose the ability to use Nen all together. The notebook only contains ten pages that are filled up by Sora herself, and twenty pages for other people. Once all the pages are filled, the 21st person Sora tries to write about will be overridden on the first page dedicated to other people. She cannot look into her own future and can only write about her daily activities. She also loses consciousness when using this power.

Alright so this is how I'll do this; I'm going to hit you with a list. Beside each bullet with be (+) or (-); positive or negative. I'm not one for going into details, especially when it comes to someone else's character sheet. I find it hindering to the creative process. The only time I'll go into detail is if there is something I have an absolute problem with. So let's begin.

• (+) I like the profile overall. You're definitely in the acceptable range.
• (+) Your Nen ability is simple but powerful. Makes sense for an Enhancer.
• (-) Birdy's baptism by Nen is a tad iffy to me. I'm willing to let it slide, why not. Hunters are extremely rare. I think it was mentioned that out of all of its population there were only 661. Nen Users are around the same, maybe more, it would rare for them to know the truth of the concept. If not Hunters or Masters in their own right I think her skill would be greatly diminished. I'm skeptical of her being hit by a Nen User in the mafia and surviving at all, unless she was amongst a battle involving weak Mafiosos. Seems more likely. Very, very dangerous but plausible.

• (+) The safe route is never a bad route. Your personality and aura type is perfect matches. Nen ability is simple but cool.
• (-) I can tell you allowed your preferences to shape your character instead of the world. This is not a score against you, promise, just something I noticed.
• (-) Which leads me to my final negative. The incident where she fell into the toxic pit. That would def do more harm then good in this universe. It would be more acceptable if she had been born with some genetic mutation. Also go into detail about how fast and strong she is, as well as her healing factor. We spoke about this over discord. (Did you know there is a mutation that makes people grow indefinitely ;)

• (-) I need you to go into details about Sora's Nen abilities. I understand the Tarot Cards but just how advance is she in Nen? She would have to be far more talented than Gon and Killua and they were 1 and 10,000,000. You could go the route of having three, perhaps four abilities with your Tarot Cards but I don't think she'd be good at much else. In considering this criticism, think about the match between Hisoka and Kastro. Her training to take the Hunter Exam couldn't be that extreme, not enough for her to pass it with flying colors. Hmm? I'm not sure how to handle this but I'm on the verge of saying she failed. She'll need more meat and skill if she wants to pass as she currently is. The Hunter Exam is yearly, do debate me if you believe she could have obtained the strength in that timespan.
• Also I need to know her age. Its not something you can keep hidden when it comes to this game. Mostly because I need to compare her years, talents, natural abilities, and Nen potential to her age. Its kind of a game of assumption.
• (+) Nen Ability and Personality is fitting.

At most I'll be accepting talents on par with Gon and Killua.

First point: In terms of her nen ability, I could always restrict it to three or four tarot cards at first, and then slowly expand her arsenal to just the major arcana? Not only would she have to train herself to transmute her nen correctly (similarly to Killua who had to electrocute himself), she would also need to research the tarot card she's trying to emulate?
In terms of the Hunter Exam, would it be possible to say that she failed the exam multiple times (maybe four or five times) before finally passing? That way, I could say that she built up strength and power from the exams and that's why she's as strong as she is now? And when she finally passes, it's more like she did average/below average in all the phases? Or would that idea not be a good idea?

I kinda want to put her around Kurapika's level more so than Gon/Killua.

Second point: I made the age unknown because she wouldn't technically know how old she is, but I could always put one if it's helpful? ^^

Third point: You put a negative symbol, but said that the Nen ability and personality are fitting? I'm not sure what to take from that?

• Give me three Nen attacks that would come from Sora's Nen ability, what type of aura do they use, and the training she went through to emulate said effect. As for the Hunter Exam, yes (3 attempts is good enough). Also who hinted Sora towards nen? as I see that being the only way she could have accessed it without knowledge beforehand.

Nen Users are around the same, maybe more, it would rare for them to know the truth of the concept. If not Hunters or Masters in their own right I think her skill would be greatly diminished. I'm skeptical of her being hit by a Nen User in the mafia and surviving at all, unless she was amongst a battle involving weak Mafiosos. Seems more likely. Very, very dangerous but plausible.

I agree, I definitely hand-waved the accident. Frankly, there weren't many reasonable ways I could think of to have a character I wanted at the age I wanted without either a baptism that was mostly harmless, all things considered, or was a genius who rivaled Gon/Killua and that just seemed unlikely to me shrugs shoulders So I went that route. If the baptism bothers you I can alter the situation some. Change ages and whatnot. I kind of like the baptism part, but thereare more realistic routes I can take if you'd like?

Response to your fix

• Give me three Nen attacks that would come from Sora's Nen ability, what type of aura do they use, and the training she went through to emulate said effect. As for the Hunter Exam, yes (3 attempts is good enough). Also who hinted Sora towards nen? as I see that being the only way she could have accessed it without knowledge beforehand.
• I needs her age lol. It would be a major help in solidifying my rulings.

Nen Attacks

• The Magician -- Transmuter -- With this card, Sora is about to transmute her Nen to make it one of the four core elements: air, water, earth, or fire. She can only use one element at a time. If she wants to change the element she would have to remove the cards effect and wait the allotted time before she can use the card again. She did a vary similar training that Killua had to do: she stood in front of a blowtorches, sat under waterfalls, touch and had rocks of of all kids thrown at her, and withstood tornadoes with her nen activated to avoid any real harm to herself. She made her body and nen experience the elements in some of their harshest forms, and it took roughly two months for her get a good grasp on this card.
• Judgement -- Not Sure what type this would be; maybe Conjurer? -- This card is a lot like Kurapika's Dowsing chain. Placing the card on a person, Sora will ask a yes or no question. If said person speaks the truth, nothing will happen. If the person lies, the card will force said person into Zetsu before sending a blast of Nen upon where Sora places the card; casting judgement. Sora learned how to do this, via tests on those that taught her nen. (This one is still super iffy as I'm still thinking on how would be able to train this skill without hurting someone.)
• Strength -- Enhancer -- As you can probably guess, this card strengthens whatever the card is placed upon. In order to get a good grasp of this card, Sora had to train enhancing and strengthening her aura around herself and other objects automatically. Everywhere she went, she unconscious enveloped whatever she was touching with her enhanced nen until it became second nature.

I would say the one who hinted Sora on Nen would be one of the test-takers (like Hisoka and Illumi) that befriended her on her final attempt of the exam. How does that sound?

Okay, I edit in her age one everything else is situated. I'll probably make her 13-15 years old. Haven't decided on a number yet since I'll have to change the past a little bit.
