Rin cocked their eyebrow when the Standard Pokéball broke up, rolling uselessly away into the dry grasses. Sprawling out its limbs from its shell, the wild pokémon looked ready to keep the fight going. "Fine then. You can be a footnote in the annals of Anusobeket's legacy!" Whipping out their dramatic pointer finger, their Totodile's eyes sharpened with malicious intent. "Show him just how strong you already are, Anu. Water Gun one more time!"

As Anu reared back to prepare for a Water Gun attack, the wild Shuckle rolled into a ball once more, determined to succeed this time. With a greater distance between them than last time, he was able to get more momentum behind his rollout, but alas, it was not enough. The Water Gun met him halfway and slowed him down considerably. Again, he was tossed off to the side. Disoriented but still adamant about the whole situation.

Water and Rock collided head on, but the Shucklewas no match for the Totodile's Type advantage. Veering off course again, Rin was already lifting their foot to walk away when then The Mold Pokémon slid put of its shell again! It was not going down . . . yet. Rin smirked admiringly at the Shuckle's determination. "Impressive," and that it was having survived two direct Super Effective Hits, and still looking like it could take another. Rin really reconsidered going for the catch again. They were pretty confident the wild pokémon was a Rock Type by its move and attachment to the big stone they'd been lounging on earlier, but it also looked like it could be something else? Rin wasn't exactly sure they could place it, but it could be worth it. 'Just one Great Ball is all it'd take . . .' Rin thought over, 'but then I'd be down to my last Great Ball.' Staring back into those fierce, beady eyes, Rin's mind was made up. Launching the Great Ball at the wild pokémon like an attack, Rin was aiming for the Shuckle to respect their strength as a Trainer and realize how good of a duo the two would make. At least that's how Rin would want to be approached by a Trainer if they were a wild pokémon; and something told them the Shuckle would agree. Hopefully.

Shuckle was on his last leg, so to speak, but it seemed that Rin wasn't going to take any chances. They threw a Great Ball. A blue light came out and sucked the Shuckle inside. From within the confines of the ball, he wrestled with the idea. Should he stay or should he go?
One shake.... ....Two shake..... .......Three shake...... ..............Four shake.......
And then it stopped...... ......And then it started again.....

While Anusobeket bared her teeth anticipating Shuckle's escape upon the Great Ball's fifth shake, Rin just chucked before swiping the pokéball off the ground. Swaggering back into the tall grass, the trainer had no doubts about the outcome. They'd been through this before. When the Great Ball finally dinged in confirmation Rin just smirked. "Come on Anu!" Rin twisted around to look back at their starter. "We still have to get you into some real fights for experience." At the mention of battle Anusobeket perked right up, and dashed into the tall grass ahead of her trainer. "Hey no fair!" Interpreting her running as race, Rin accepted the challange.
As fast as her little legs could take her, the Totodile weaved between the grasses. Her trainer right on her heels the two giggled and laughed until Rin tripped over a stray rock! Taking Anu down with them (or rather under them), Rin met the dirt chin first. "To-toto," Anusobeket struggled to get out from beneath her trainer, and Rin just groaned in response. Rubbing their chin, Rin used their free hand to push themself up while they looked around where they'd fallen. It seemed they'd stumbled upon the edge of some property. A farm maybe by the look of all the flat terrain?
"Toat?" Anu grumbled inquisitively.
"I have no clue," Rin answered honestly. Scratching the back of her ear Rin fished out their PokéWhistle. "Like I said though, we should get you some more battle practice." Taking some steps farther towards the farm, Rin placed the whistle between their lips. "Let's see who else is around." Not know what kinds enounters they'd run into, if any, Anusobeket agreed excitedly to the unknown. Prowling ahead of her trainer, large windmills and glimmering solar panels became clearer the closer they crept; notes from the whistle filling the air and alerting all nearby of the pair's presence.
"Ya thanks for explaining that, use the rest to give me 6 Great Balls." Liz said dismissively as she popped out Chloris ball and fed in the Cut she just purchased, she did the same with fly and Phoniks. When she was finished the clerk had collected her great balls and gave them to her. She turned and ran out the door and back out of town towards those overgrown vines.

Rin could see the windmills in the distance when they pulled out their whistle. Their eyes were trained on the path ahead, but from behind, at the edge of some tall grass, a wild Wynaut peaked its head out. "Wyna!?"
Perfectly in line with its quirky nature, the little Wynaut hopped out of the grass. She stayed right behind Rin, just observing.
A quirky Wynaut is following close behind Rin. She is at level 13.

It was evening by the time Liz made it back to the clearing at the intersection of routes 27 and 28. She passed many wild Pokemon on the way. She was determined. The western route with the overgrown brush was on her left. From her right, a trainer appeared from the eastern path. It was a girl in a pink dress, and she didn't look happy, perhaps even fighting back tears. Beside her walked a Floette. The Pokemon looked just as upset.
Inevitably the two trainers made eye contact, but the girl didn't try to approach Liz. She just turned to the left to go south down route 28, the way Liz had just emerged.
What will Liz do? Will she approach the girl or move on? FYI, the girl's Floette is level 21.
Liz approached bustled through the route, burning daylight as she ran, she saw several pokemon on her way, but she just knew the one she was looking for was down that pathway. As she got to the intersection, she saw an other trainer. She seemed sad and didn't bother to say a word to Liz as she turned down the way Liz just came from. Not worrying about a girl who just walked off Liz called out Chloris.
"Alright buddy I taught you that new move, time to use it!!" Chloris excitedly ran up to the bushes and began chopping away at them.

Chloris chopped and chopped while Liz followed along behind. It was smooth sailing till Chloris cut down a small bush. From out of the bush a wild Beautifly emerged. The poor things was scared. She didn't expect her nest to be chopped down so violently. She flew over to a nearby tree trunk and timidly watched Liz and her Chloris.
Liz has disturbed a wild Beautifly. She is at level 26.

With Anusobeket taking the lead this time Rin resigned themself to once again tying beat their own personal, whistle-related records. From number of seconds sustaining a single note to attempting to recreate a medley from their childhood. As it so happened the happily epic compilation had attracted a fan. A wild Wynaut wagged its tail to the beat; skipping behind the unaware Trainer. It was only when Rin took a moment to catch their breath that they heard a gentle hum to the tune of the last song. Their feet stuck to where they stood, and before they could even spin around-
"Wyna, Wy, Wyna, Wyn," the Wynaut sung as it waddled around Rin. A bright smile painted The Bright Pokémon's face, and she tilted her head at the Trainer to question why they'd stop playing. Rin's smirk dipped into a small grin. They liked her already.
"Toto!" The Totodile scuttled towards the wild pokémon, but seeing as she had gone quite far ahead, Rin took the opportunity to jest.
"I hope you don't think being adorable will save you from a battle," they playfully accused to which the Wynaut giggled at before going along with it and nodding. Crouching down they whispered, "Drats, you are as smart as you look. You guessed right." Straightening their back to stand, a smirk started seeping through their face again. "I won't fight you." Rin winked at something behind the wild pokémon and a gush of Water Gun lurched at the The Bright Pokémon from behind.

Wynaut tilted her head in momentary confusion. It wasn't until she heard the sound of water behind her that she realized what was happening, but it was too late. By the time she turned to investigate, the water was already upon her. The pressure from the water gun sent her flying past Rin. She used splash to pop back up to a standing position.

Striking from behind proved to be quite the effective strategy as the wild Wynaut may as well have used Quick Attack for how fast it went past Rin.
"To-toto! Anusobeket trumpeted, and her Trainer rooted in gleeful agreement. She really was on a roll today. Though watching The Bright Pokémon Splash weakly out of the puddle Anu caused still surprised Rin. They figured the wild pokémon was a Water Type by virtue of the fact that it was blue, but perhaps not? It certainly hadn't reacted like it was Resistant to Water Gun.
"Huh, well, uh, I guess I just assumed . . . Hm, well if you ain't Water then I guess the only way to find out what you are is to catch ya!" Rin punctuated their statement by throwing a Standard Pokéball, and with the zap of red light that was that. What came next was up to the Wynaut
As Chloris made short work of the vines, Liz's mind wondered back towards Rin. She hadn't from them since they split up five days ago. She wondered if her messages ever reached them, maybe she had the wrong number, maybe they didn't care about their rivalry. Whilst lost in her thoughts, she almost missed the Beautifly shuffle out of it's nest, it stared at Liz and Chloris as they made their way through.
"Chloris, hunny, take a break. Hephaestus, come on out, give me a mighty Ember!!" The fire pokemon popped out with a hiss fire broiling in it's mouth, three little fire balls launched from it's mouth at the fluttering pokemon.

In a flash of red light, the wild Wynaut was sucked into the Pokeball. It hit the ground with a *bump bump* and began to shake.
One.... ....Two.....
*Ding!*
It was a successful capture, hands down, Rin's easiest catch thus far.
"Chloris, hunny, take a break. Hephaestus, come on out, give me a mighty Ember!!" The fire pokemon popped out with a hiss fire broiling in it's mouth, three little fire balls launched from it's mouth at the fluttering pokemon.
Hephaestus shot out his ember. The wild Beautifly's eyes shook with fear. But this fear would become the fuel for her counter attack. She closed her eyes, jumped off the tree, and began flapping her wings frantically. This reflexive course of action both allowed her to dodge the incoming threat and release a powerful counter attack.
The Gust hit hard and sent Hephaestus tumbling. His newly acquired Fighting typing had proven to be a critical weakness today.
Opening her eyes, Beautifly was surprised to see her enemy on the ground. Not one to ask questions, she flew away while she had the chance.
Liz swore silently to herself at forgetting that Hephaestus was weak against flying type moves now. She called him back to his ball and looked to Chloris and nodded for her to get up and start cutting again. The young woman wanted to find where this path lead before it became to dark.

"All right! Just Seven-Hundred Ninety-Six to go!" Anusobeket jumped up to join Rin in a high-five upon her Trainer's exclamation.
"Dile!" The Totodile felt refreshed and invigorated from the battle, and bounced on the balls of her feet as Rin went to go pick up the newly filled pokéball. Flipping their Pokédex open, Rin set to scrolling through the Primus Region's catalog to discover their caught pokémon's actual Type. Ignoring any message notifications, their pointer finger stretched and swiped in its search. Rin didn't actually know the Wynaut's name, so this was their only option. However it was taking longer then they had anticipated, and seeing all of those empty spaces were really hammering home the point that they really did have Seven-Hundred Ninety-Six more to catch. Stopping just at #359, Rin made a disgruntled noise and stuffed the device back into their back pocket.
"Come on, girl. We've got, uh . . ." Rin was shortly stumped for a nickname before snapping their fingers! "Wadjeda! We've got Wadjeda, so let's go figure out whatever this place is supposed to be." Deigning to take it easy on their lungs, Rin settled for speedwalking the rest of the way the Solar Panel and Windmill Farm
Liz swore silently to herself at forgetting that Hephaestus was weak against flying type moves now. She called him back to his ball and looked to Chloris and nodded for her to get up and start cutting again. The young woman wanted to find where this path lead before it became too dark.
Liz and Chloris chopped and chopped their way through the forest of Route 28. It had gotten late in the afternoon by the time she cut through her last bit of shrubbery. They had arrived at the cliffs.
In an hour, the sun would be setting on the horizon. She had arrived at the perfect time. The view of the sunset from this spot would be amazing. Some would even call it the most beautiful thing in all of Primis.
As Liz came walking out of the forest for a closer look, a wild Duskull floated up from below the cliff's edge. He stared at Liz for a moment before turning his back to her. Completely lax, he stared out at the see, anticipating the sunset.
Liz has arrived at the Cliffs and has discovered a wild Duskull. He is level 23.
Liz and Chloris emerged from the woods as the sun was beginning to set. The Pokemon and her trainer marveled at the beauty of the sunset in the distance. As they soaked it in a wild Duskull appeared and began watching it as well. Liz's heart jumped into her throat, a legit Ghost type pokemon was a few feet away from her. While not her favorite Ghost type her blood pumped excitedly at finding one at all.
"Chloris, I need this pokemon, I know you just worked real hard cut through that growth, but I need you a little longer. Use Magical Leaf." She whispered to Chloris. Who quietly nodded as it prepared it's move.
