The awkward 'that' (que in French) sometimes is required to divide a dependent clause. Otherwise, it is what @Lady Selune eeked to Alfred.

The third can be rendered: "History speaks for me, young cat."

Lastly. "How much? The future will only have to follow." An implication on his lead onto the dance floor and his new partner to determine how much measured grace will be lent to follow said lead.
