Welcome Freaks, to St. Markus's Home For Troubled Youth, i.e. you. You are here because you are creatures that shouldn't be allowed to live, but by law, I am not allowed to kill you. So I am just going to make you wish you were dead. You are going to be here for the rest of your unnatural lives. So get comfortable, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

St. Markus's is a 'Home' for supernatural kids like you. The owner is evil and he encourages those that work there to beat, berate, and otherwise torture the inhabitants of the home.

Will post character later, but can you explain your power? I don't really know what umbrakinesis is. Also, can I make kind of a pseudo villain/antihero and have my character fight back with his power every chance he gets qnd enjoy the suffering he unleashes on the guards in turn?

Umbrakinesis is the control of shadows, like how pyrokinesis controls fire and hydrokinesis is the control of water.
I suppose you cold do that, but there will be punishments for doing things like that to the guards, ranging from power nullifying shackles to solitary. If you think you can make it work, go for it, just don't overdo it.

At some point. A majority of the role play will take place within the Asylum, but staging an escape and possibly making it could be interesting.

Cool! I'm considering having my character's power be something like Odynokinesis, or the power to manipulate pain. powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Pain_Mani…
Would that be too OP, or would it be ok? I figure he could remove his ability to feel pain, so the beatings and stuff don't effect him mentally, but he can also force that pain onto others, causing the guards to cry out in agony as he relishes in their screams. I'm thinking really sadistic here, seems like something that would be fun to play. But if you think that's too OP, I can think of something else.

I am liking this. But the guards would most likely have something that protects them from powers. I do like this idea, but with a power like that, your character would be under constant surveillance and power watch, makong it harder to initiate a form of breakout of revolution.

Personality: He was kicked out of his last foster home for taking another girl's stuffed animal and ripping the head off. Usually he's described an angry little ball of hate. However, once he get to trust someone, he tends show that he's actually quite fragile. For instance when alone he gets very scared because that is when his visions star up. He see horrible visions of the future which terrify him to no end. He's known to wet the bed when these visions happen at night.
Other: Has been in the foster care system since the age of 2 when his parents were killed in a car crash. He predicted the crash a couple months earlier but didn't know when it would happen.
