...“Good luck, Tiffany,” Dana said flatly.

“I’m not sure I’ll need it,” Tiffany returned, smiling as she called out her first Pokemon.

(Dana challenged Tiffany Bellomo. First Pokemon: Clefable.)

When Dana sent out her Clefairy, Tiffany pulled out one of her Pokeballs. But she stopped before throwing it, apparently remembering something. "Ummm.... This is embarrassing... but I just remembered... I can't battle here. Most of my Pokemon are water based. I was training at the beach when I was transported to Earth. Landed in Canada still wearing my bathing suit, it was horrible. Anyways, can we go back to HQ? I hear the battle room can be converted to support water-based Pokemon as well."

The two walked into the battle room of HQ together, only to find that they would have to wait for another battle to finish. On one side was a Cherubi. On the other was a Voltorb. Strangely enough, the Voltorb's trainer looked more enthused, even though Voltorb was visibly more tired...

... When the battle ended, Tiffany ran over to the referee to speak with her. By the time Dana caught up, their conversation was already over, and Tiffany wore a huge smile. "So! She said it will take about 20 minutes to convert. I'm excited!"

(Quick Note: In your next post, you can start the battle. Tiffany's opening Pokemon will be a level 36 Sharpedo.)

...“Alright, Thea. Let’s do this,” Camden said. “Start off with the teary combo!”

Thea immediately burst into tears.

Alright. Then Confusion when the enemy lets its guard down, Camden thought, grinning. So far so good.

(Gothita — Fake Tears then Confusion — on Voltorb.)

Voltorb was about to let his guard down before Lutz called out, "Don't fall for it buddy! Those are fake tears. Use Spark now! Give her a real reason to cry!" Voltorb listened to Lutz's words, and while he hadn't learned English yet, he could guess what was being said by the tone in Lutz's voice.

What came next was a massive Spark. It hit hard! Camden's combo had been ruined. But the battle was far form over...

(Battle Result: Lutz Wins)
(Quick Note: Camden uses both his Pokemon and just narrowly looses to Lutz's Voltorb, which as it turns out, was his only Pokemon.)

...She looked around confused as to how she wondered so far. She turned around and began heading back when suddenly a wild Pinsir approached. Now was as good a time as any to try her new friend.

"Alright Pissaro, show me what you can do!! Confusion!!" She said throwing out the ball.

(Pinsir female lvl 11)

Pinsir had been following Circe for the last fifteen minutes, out of curiosity mainly. She couldn't understand why anyone would be all the way out here 'in her neck of the woods' (literally). However, when Circe immediately sent out a Pokemon, she found the answer. This is a Pokemon trainer looking for a battle... but battling wasn't her strong suit...

Battle Result: Pissaro Wins with Ease

(Quick Note: You can dictate exactly how the battle plays out, but Circe and Pissaro win, hands down. Also, she won the battle so handily that, if she were to throw a Pokeball, this one is a guaranteed catch.)

...Liz wondered town looking for anything fun to do, she had already watched a Mr. Mime show. Grabbed a bite to eat, and took a nap on Ades stomach. She decided to train some more and went hunting for a Pokemon. She turned a corner and spotted a Jigglypuff.

"Alright Ade, body slam!!"

(Jigglypuff male lvl 16)

Jigglypuff are known for their large eyes, but on this day, this particular Jigglypuff's eyes were wider than anyone had ever seen as Snorlax jumped into the air. Frozen in fear, he tried to jump out of the way, but he didn't make it. When Snorlax got up, Jigglypuff was looking noticeably less round and completely unresponsive... He was in need of serious medical attention.

Battle Result: Snorlax Wins

(Quick Note: This is another total victory... and a guaranteed catch if you want. .)

May 14th Paris Circe

Pissaro came out of the gate strong, he knocked the Pinsir back with a huge confusion attack. The Pokemon was basically unresponsive, not missing her chance for a Pokemon that can mega-evolve she tossed a pokeball. The pokeball dinged before it shook once.

"I think I will call you Shino. After you rest a bit, we will take on a trainer ok??" She said on her way back to town.

----------------------------

Liz

Liz caught the Jigglypuff quickly and efficiently. She placed the ball on her belt and began walking back to base. She found professor Sycamore and handed him the pokeball.

"I won't need this one professor, if we ever get home I have a Wigglytuff that I have that's so much better anyways, this little thing will just get in my way." She turned and walked away, leaving the professor looking after her in concern.

Ardanata “Dana” Stamos

France || Headquarters || May 14th, Dusk

The aquatic setup was simple enough: the field had been replaced with a pool, which was sprinkled with platforms secured by metal poles to the bottom of the pool. Roughly split fifty-fifty between platform and open water, the field seemed like the normal aquatic battle setup, and Dana’s Clefable jumped onto the platform with ease.

On the other side of the field, Tiffany released her Sharpedo, which immediately disappeared into the water below. While the water-type had the advantage of choosing when it wanted to initiate the attack, it had the disadvantage of having to surface first—an action that would allow Dana’s Clefable a sure hit, since Disarming Voice guaranteed a hit against any opposing Pokemon approaching, especially to land a physical attack like Sharpedo were best equipped to deal.

When it surfaces, leaving the water to attack, Clefable will send it rolling back with a Disarming Voice, hitting it back into the water or onto another mat. Dana glanced at the water, which—though crystal clear—would not be helpful in this particular battle.

“Minimize,” Dana said. Her Clefable waved her hands, shrinking in size so that the platform she was on dwarfed her even more.

On the biggest platform, it’s just a waiting game, Dana thought. And if the Sharpedo doesn’t get back into the water quickly, it’ll get knocked out with a Sing.

@Balthazar007 Clefable — Disarming Voice (then Sing, followed by Wake-up Slap if necessary) > Sharpedo.

Camden Montero

France || Paris Proper || May 14th, Dusk

“You did good, Ruby,” Camden said, returning his Pokemon with a sigh before pasting on a smile and turning to the approaching Victor. “Good job there, Lutz. I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t think I could win anyway, but it was a good match. Learned useful tips—like the fact that Voltorb don’t need Explode to be scary.”

“You got that right,” Lutz said, shaking Camden’s offered hand. “And I’m not going to lose next time either.”

“Well, you got one thing right,” Camden said with a grin, “and it’s that there will be a next time. See you around, Lutz.”

France || Paris Proper || May 14th, Night

“Hey there, you two alright?” Camden asked, checking over his Pokemon after he’d released them. They both seemed to be in pristine condition, although Ruby was again looking a bit dejected.

“Rubs, stop feeling bad about losing. The League’s just a way for us to train.”

Ruby looked at Camden gloomily, nodding. Beside him, Thea rolled her eyes, uttering a sound along the lines of a sigh.

She’s got an attitude, Camden thought, almost pleased. Sure having a Pokemon who was willing to challenge authority every now and then wasn’t the best, but sometimes attitude was the edge needed to win in shows. If anything, his high school theater class had taught him that personality did matter, even if less so than practice. However, it had to be carefully tempered to make the most out of it; the correct work ethic and mentality polish any strone, and none would shine more brightly than a diamond if refined correctly.

“Alright, let’s wrap up and call it a day,” Camden said quickly when his Pokemons’ conversation heated up. If Ruby and Thea’s brusque tones said anything to the meaning behind their exchange, Camden knew this wouldn’t be the last time he played mediator.

“Night, Thea, Ruby,” he said, turning off the lamp and throwing the room into darkness.

(Clefable — Disarming Voice (then Sing, followed by Wake-up Slap if necessary) > Sharpedo.)

Sharpedo emerged from the water with incredible speed by using Aqua Jet. Clefable was only barely able to dodge the attack. Not only was she able to dodge, but she also managed to counter attack with Disarming Voice a split second before Sharpedo disappeared into the water. On the surface, it was unclear if Disarming Voice did any damage, but in actuality, it was highly effective. Sure there were no scrapes or bruises, but the emotional damage ran deep. For the rest of the battle, Sharpedo was hesitant, which ultimately led to him loosing quickly.

This was the theme for the rest of the battle. For every Pokemon Tiffany sent out, Dana's team was far too experienced. Not a one of her Pokemon landed anything more than a slight blow, not her two other Pokemon from home (Wailmer and Carvanah), and most definitely not her Gothita (whom she caught here in France earlier that day).

Still though, Tiffany managed to end the battle with a smile, promising a different result next time around.

Battle Result: Dana Wins!

May 17th, 2020 to June 21st, 2020

Bootcamp, never did this one word have so many different meanings: from their time in the harsh Russian tundra where the word was true to its most classical connotation, to their culturally educational and slightly luxurious stay in France. But the changes didn't end there. Each new week of "bootcamp" was vastly different from the one before it... with completely different Pokemon to see as well...

Egypt (May 18th - May 24th): a hot place any time of the year, but damn near unbearable in the summer months (i.e. during the time they spent there). Here they learned how to prepare for travel in hot desert conditions. They also found that areas with ancient significance (such as the pyramids and graveyards) were great places to find unique Pokemon...

Amazonas (May 25th - May 31st): a dangerously beautiful tropical rain forest. Here they learned how to protect themselves in dense forested environments with vast arrays of dangerous animals, Pokemon and regular animals alike. They also learned that the vast majority of Pokemon species live in forested environments.

Colorado (June 1st - June 7th): a mountain region with great diversity. Here our trainers practice their hiking and climbing skills, and occasionally drive out to the flat lands. And as always, they get a good feel for what kinds of Pokemon to expect from these terrains.

Hawaii (June 8th - June 14th): an island paradise with unique wildlife, including Pokemon. Here trainers learn about the unique lifestyles that arise from island living. It is also apparent that areas that have generations based on them, such as the Alolan region, tend to favor Pokemon from those generations.

Japan (June 15th - June 21st): a land rich with tradition and with an inexplicable connection to the Pokemon world. Here, trainers find many unique Pokemon as well as classical Pokemon. It is notable that no other region on the world has as many different Pokemon species per square mile/kilometer.

Throughout all their travels, our trainers not only explore wildernesses and hunt Pokemon. They must also face society. The more they travel, the clearer it becomes: many different schools of thought are dividing the world. One, there are those that fully support our trainers and will help in any way possible. Two, there are an equal amount of others that doubt the system, that don't trust trainers. Three, there are extremists that feel Pokemon are a threat and should be killed, not captured. Four, there are opposing extremists who believe Pokemon should be left alone in the wild, that nature should take its course without any interference. Five, there are those that, despite not being selected to be trainers, are capturing Pokemon "the old fashioned way"... Online communities and in-person rallies/meet-ups are becoming common place. Tensions are higher than ever.

(Closing Notes: Okay everyone, I am going to let you all freely progress through the rest of the bootcamp phase using the information above. All you need to do is tag me whenever you want to encounter a Pokemon or battle an NPC, like you've already been doing. Also, feel free to battle each other, whenever you like. If it's a League battle, make sure I know so that I can change points/rankings accordingly.

In order to make it so that you don't just always encounter rare Pokemon, I'm going to say this. You can only encounter a Rare Pokemon after encountering at least two common Pokemon since your last Rare encounter.

Of course, I'll keep replying to posts, but don't expect any more "Plot Moving" Posts until you all decide to end the bootcamp phase. That doesn't mean there absolutely WON'T be any "Plot Moving" Posts; it just means... probably not.

May 20th Eygpt Circe

Liz lived Paris, the culture was amazing, but all good things must end. And the next leg of their journey found them in Eygpt. On one of her explorations she found a wondering Cubone that seemed lost in it's surroundings. Having just gotten a few more balls she got prepared.

"Hey little buddy, you seem to be taking in the sights as well. How bout you come with me and my friends and see even more than this??" The Cubone looked at Circe, and for the life of her she couldn't tell what he was thinking. She tossed the ball at him regardless and hoped for the best.

(Male level 13)

-------------------------

Liz

Liz never would of even left boot camp if it weren't for the rumors that a group of Eevee were around. She wondered around town with Hephaestus out, Hades couldn't stand the blistering sun, and despite Ade having Thick Fat ability she couldn't keep up. Liz rounded a corner and found the Pokemon she was looking for, the little evolution pokemon was walking down an alley towards them.

"Hello, eevee. Let's battle, Hephaestus, use Flame Wheel!!". The circle of fire consumed Hephaestus and it charged towards the little fox pokemon.

Ardanata “Dana” Stamos

France || Headquarters || May 14th, Dusk

Tiffany’s bravado all but vanished as the battle progressed, and it quickly became clear that her team was no match for Dana’s. When the battle finally concluded—not too soon after it started either, since Dana’s Pokemon were used to ending things quickly—Tiffany returned her fallen Pokemon and aimed one last shaky glare at Dana.

“You really do think you’re all that, don’t you?” she accused, voice quivering as she clutched her Pokeballs close.

“You should probably get them seen to now,” Dana replied, meeting the glare coolly.

Tiffany didn’t need another warning after that, quickly disappearing down the hall, and Dana excused herself soon after. She’d proven that she was making progress, and that was all that mattered.

Egypt || Town Outskirts || May 17th, Midday

“Again,” Dana said. Her Combusken took off after another stray, knocking another Glameow down with ease. On account that her Combusken’s plumage was beginning to darken, Dana had decided to focus her attention on training it until it’s imminent evolution. Having her Blaziken back in full would be reassuring, especially with her name on the board.

A loud mreow of challenge sounded as a sizable Purugly rounded the street corner, tail lashing and curling.

Territorial, Dana thought, glancing at the Glameow gathering to watch. The strongest one, then.

“Combusken,” Dana said.

Her Combusken was instantly in front of the wild Purugly, its legs trailing streaks of dust through the air as it hurled forth a Sand Attack. The enemy Purugly, though, sprang out of the way, threatening a Fake Out that Dana’s Combusken narrowly dodged.

“Double Kick,” Dana said, watching as her Combusken turned to land the move. If it were a Blaziken rather than a Combusken, that Fake Out wouldn’t have even come to its waist, much less its eyes.

@Balthazar007 Combusken — Double Kick > Purugly, male, lvl 36
If Dana wins, she’ll throw a Pokeball

Camden Montero

Egypt || Town Square || May 17th, Midday

Egypt was much warmer than Camden was prepared for, with its blinding sunlight and searing heat. Even the breeze was warm—something that, though made sense intuitively, had never occurred to Camden quite like it did as he stalked through the square. He was willingly suffering the sweat and likely sunburns, though, for there was a name on the list of local Pokemon that he would lay down his life hunting, sun or not.

Eevee oh Eevee, where art thou Eevee, Camden thought, pausing at a bench at the edge of the street to pant. He'd chosen not to release his Pokemon due to the heat: Thea’s goth theme made zero sense in Egypt heat, and though Ruby would likely enjoy the harsh sunlight, Camden didn’t feel the need to summon a walking reminder that he was slower than a oversized cherry in the sun. Sure his pace had been a bit zealous for the first hour of searching, but he’d been fighting the urge to feel dejected after coming up with nothing but Skitty and Glameow all over town.

Pulling out his water bottle, Camden took a chug, scanning the rather empty square in front of him. Clearly the locals had more common sense than him.

As he moved to sit down on the bench, however, he spotted a tail—a brown tail.

No way, he thought, grinning as he pulled out Ruby’s Pokeball. But there it was—an Eevee dozing underneath the bench, clearly worn out from the sun.

Releasing Ruby, Camden made frantic shushing signals before pointing fervently at the resting Eevee. Ruby got the gist, nodding when Camden put his fist to his palm.

Might be a cheap shot, but I sweated for this opportunity, Camden thought, carefully backing away from the bench as Ruby laid his Leech Seed and readied himself for a Tackle. And I’ll be damned if I don’t get an Eevee out of this entire endeavor.

Ryan Harrell
May 17th, mid afternoon, Greater Cairo, Egypt

"Hey, slow down!" Ryan panted as he chased Corentin through the market-lined streets. Egypt was a place he'd always wanted to visit, but this heat was the biggest downside. Corentin, on the other hand, seemed to love the extreme weather, warmth radiating from orange spheres around his head as he raced through the air. "Not everyone has your energy in this heat!"

He leaned against a wall to catch his breath, wiping sweat from his forehead and adjusting his baseball cap, watching as the Castform did several flips in the air before finally returning to his side. Despite having called him over, Ryan didn't know if Corentin's proximity was a good or bad thing - it was like having a portable heater by his side. Not exactly what he needed.

Growls and hisses snapped him out of his sun-induced grogginess. He turned to see a cat - not a Pokemon, just a large tabby - lash its claws at what looked like a long-eared fox cub, making it drop a piece of kofta meat. Ryan instantly recognised the creature for what it was.

He rushed over as the Eevee kicked sand at the cat, but before it could retrieve its meal, the feline had run away with the piece of food. At Ryan's approach, the Pokemon backed into a corner, trembling. Its eyes darted around as if it searched for an escape route.

"It's alright, I've got something here you can have," Ryan said, slowing his pace and crouching down to present the Eevee with a berry box. "Corentin here will make sure nobody steals these." The little fox stayed back for a few seconds, then took a step closer and sniffed at the berries. As it pulled one out and started nibbling at it, glancing this way and that every few moments, Ryan took in the scratch and bite marks the cat had inflicted.

Of course he hoped to catch an Eevee - who didn't? - and those injuries needed seeing to, but he wasn't going to traumatise a terrified puppy by battling it just to make it easier to capture. "How about you come with me? You can get healed up at the headquarters," he explained. He knew the Eevee most likely had no idea what he was saying - even if it could understand human speech to any extent, it wouldn't have heard English before - but hopefully a gentle tone of voice would be enough to soothe it.

As he took out one of the Pokeballs he'd been given, the Eevee gave it a wary gaze, then edged forward. Ryan smiled. "Come on, then," he said, throwing the capsule.

@Balthazar007 Eevee, female, lv9

Mililani Kekoa
May 17th, mid afternoon, Greater Cairo, Egypt

It was hotter outside than even she was used to, but once again Mililani had been tasked with showing a bunch of fledgling trainers the ropes. So far, the search around the town had only resulted in sweat, groaning and flagging from the formerly excited Earth people, by far the less accustomed ones to the heat.

"Well," Mililani sighed, "this is the life of a trainer for you. Don't expect it to be the easiest job in the world." She pressed the button on a Pokeball, letting out her Primarina. "Naia, would you mind helping us cool off with those water bubbles of yours?"

Naia nodded, glancing around to make sure there wasn't too big a crowd around before starting to sing. Her Sparkling Aria was softer than that of most Primarinas, but still had the same otherworldly beauty. A water orb formed in front of her. Instead of careening forward like it did in battle, it broke apart into several tiny bubbles that floated and brushed around the trainers.

Just as everyone began to relax, Naia's song petered out into a coughing fit at a sudden overwhelming perfume smell. All the bubbles popped. "W-What?" Mililani spluttered, covering her nose against the cloying scent. She glanced over as one of the trainers pointed, catching sight of a flash of pink vanishing under a row of stalls. A few seconds later, a group of people appeared from behind a corner at the end of the street, chatting happily, only to double over hacking. There was a giggle from under a table, then a little pink bird flew out.

One of the stall owners, once he caught his breath, called something out to the trainers and gestured towards the bird. Mililani hadn't gotten the hang of Arabic, but it was easy to figure out what the guy was asking - he must have recognised them as trainers from the Pokeballs and presence of Naia, and wanted them to deal with the little prankster of a Pokemon.

The bird - a Spritzee, which Mililani had never seen, but as a wildlife enthusiast had heard of - seemed up for a challenge. It flew right over with a loud chirp, wafting around more perfume as it fluttered its wings.

"Alright, Liko, we've got a challenger here." Mililani sent out the Pokemon most used to strong floral scents, her Comfey. "Start with Draining Kiss!" The two Fairy types sped towards each other, launching into battle.

"Hey little buddy, you seem to be taking in the sights as well. How bout you come with me and my friends and see even more than this??" The Cubone looked at Circe, and for the life of her she couldn't tell what he was thinking. She tossed the ball at him regardless and hoped for the best.

(Cubone male level 13)

This Cubone had been coming to the nearby town late at night for nearly two months now. When he was first spotted, he looked frail, on the verge of starvation. So the towns people began to feed the sad little creature. They would leave out food that he will find and consume in the middle of the night, when no one was around. Because of this, he made a miraculous recovery, but his lonely, saddened nature did not disappear along with his hunger.

It was dusk when Circe bumped into Cubone. He couldn't quite understand her words and was taken aback when she threw her first Pokeball. It popped open immediately. He considered running away, but something kept him from doing so. That something was an inexplicable feeling, a sense that this person was not a threat. But if she wasn't a threat, why was she throwing things at him? He stood there, staring back at her, lost in contemplation.

Result: No Catch.
Result #2: Nope, but the ball shakes a couple times.
Result #3: Circe caught a Cubone!

..."Hello, eevee. Let's battle, Hephaestus, use Flame Wheel!!". The circle of fire consumed Hephaestus and it charged towards the little fox pokemon.

(Eevee female lvl 20)

Eevee was hiding out in an alley, enjoying the shade provided by the buildings on either side of her, when Liz rounded the corner. Eevee stopped in surprise. Without hesitation, Liz called for a Flame Wheel from Hephaestus. With nowhere to hide, Eevee had no choice but to fight back. Jumping backward, she began to use Swift. The golden stars of energy bounced off Monferno's Flame Wheel like they were nothing, and a second later, Eevee was sent tumbling backward. She managed to get back up, and put up a valiant effort for about another sixty seconds or so, but she inevitably lost. Backed up against a wall, she prepared herself for the finishing blow, but then something caught her eye, a small crack in the wall beside her...

Battle Result: Hephaestus Wins!
Hypothetical Pokeball Result: Pokeball Success

(Quick Note: You didn't mention wanting to catch this Eevee, but to save time, I made a Pokeball roll. Turns out, if Liz tries, she will catch this Eevee on the first try. If she doesn't try to catch the Eevee, it will escape through that crack in the wall.

...“Double Kick,” Dana said, watching as her Combusken turned to land the move. If it were a Blaziken rather than a Combusken, that Fake Out wouldn’t have even come to its waist, much less its eyes.

(Combusken — Double Kick > Purugly, male, lvl 38)
(If Dana wins, she’ll throw a Pokeball)

The battle was intense to say the least. Purugly seemed to be stronger than she first anticipated. This was confirmed when Purugly's claws began to glow, as he used SLASH! Combusken was unable to dodge the attack completely, but it wasn't a direct hit either. Still though, he would have to use caution for the rest of the battle.

Battle Result: Cumbusken Wins Narrowly
Pokeball Result: Purugly Breaks Free and Runs Away

(Quick Note: Glameow evolves to Purugly at level 38, so I adjusted its level accordingly. Luckily, Cumbusken still won though, and gained even more Exp. because of it. He's ready to evolve now. On the down side, Purugly gets away.

...Might be a cheap shot, but I sweated for this opportunity, Camden thought, carefully backing away from the bench as Ruby laid his Leech Seed and readied himself for a Tackle. And I’ll be damned if I don’t get an Eevee out of this entire endeavor.

(Cherubi — Tackle (supplemented by Chlorophyll ability) > Eevee, male, lvl 12)
(If Camden wins, he'll throw a Pokeball.)

Eevee's ears twitched as the seeds began to land on him. Because of this, he was able to see the oncoming Tackle and prepare himself. Not that he was able to dodge, no, but he was able to tighten up and handle the impact better. With little time to react, he responded with a Tackle of his own... And that was how the rest of their battle went, a tug-a-war, one-for-one, blow-for-blow battle.

In the end however, it was Eevee who managed to win... and run away.

(Battle Result: Eevee wins)

...As he took out one of the Pokeballs he'd been given, the Eevee gave it a wary gaze, then edged forward. Ryan smiled. "Come on, then," he said, throwing the capsule.

Eevee, female, lv9

Eevee was indeed weary, unsure of whether or not to be cautious of this person. When Ryan threw his Pokeball, Eevee's eyes grew wide. She was sucked inside with a bright red light. The ball shook three times before it popped back open. Confused but still hungry, she picked up the berry she had been eating on and slowly began to back away...

Pokeball Result: No luck.
Pokeball Result #2: Ryan catches an Eevee

(Quick Note: Eevee didn't run on the first failed attempt, so I tried a second ball. That one worked. Ryan must have said/done something convincing between throws.)

..."Alright, Liko, we've got a challenger here." Mililani sent out the Pokemon most used to strong floral scents, her Comfey. "Start with Draining Kiss!" The two Fairy types sped towards each other, launching into battle.

(Spritzee, female, lv18, Mililani will try to catch it if she wins)

Spritzee was excited to see another Fairy-type Pokemon. The excitement caused her to lower her guard just long enough for Comfey's attack to land. But before Comfey could get back out of the way, Spritzee let out a loud Echoed Voice. Which sent Comfey tumbling backward in the air. Spritzee laughed at the sight. This was a mistake however, because when Comfey regained his bearings, he stepped up his game. From that moment on, the battle was clearly one sided.

Battle Result: Comfey Wins!
Pokeball Result: Four Shakes, and Mililani caught a Spritzee!

Eevee was having a great day. The baker around the block had just given her a loaf of sweet bread, and before that she was playing with the local children. The only down side for the day would be going home, to the back side of a back alley dumpster.

That's when she bumped into Circe, an energetic young woman to say the least. Then from a magic ball, the young woman sent out a Cubone, but this wasn't just any Cubone. This was Eevee's crush, the always distant and elusive Cubone that would appear at night to eat snacks set out by the villagers. Using Quick Attack, Eevee avoided Cubone's attack and got in close at the same time, close enough to plant a quick lick across his face (or skull if you will). Unsure, what to do next, Cubone stepped back and watched as Eevee rolled around on her back playfully. She was obviously uninterested in battling; playing was much more her style. But what did this mean for the battle? If she didn't want to fight, would this be considered an automatic win...???

When Circe produced a Pokeball to try and capture the wild Eevee, Eevee immediately understood what was happening. If she let this trainer capture her, she could spend more time with Cubone! It was a done deal from the start. The Pokeball didn't shake, not even once.

Battle Result: Answer is yes, Cubone Wins!
Pokeball Result: Circe Caught an Eevee!

Ardanata “Dana” Stamos

Egypt || Town Outskirts || May 17th, Afternoon

Dana watched the Purugly prance off, turning back to her Combusken once the wild had disappeared behind a street corner. A familiar glow had enveloped her Combusken, blurring out the fire-type’s outline entirely before it faded, leaving a tall beige-plumed Pokemon in its wake.

“Blaziken,” Dana said, watching as the newly-evolved Pokemon tested out its familiar limbs. “Welcome back.”

The Blaziken swung a leg up in a mock-Blaze Kick before straightening to look at Dana, who called out her Scizor.

“Find an Aromatisse,” she said, her Duskull sliding out of sight at the words.. To her other two Pokemon she gave a nod, starting the sparring session between them. Kick met punch, the Blaziken holding back his fire and the Scizor keeping its claws sheathed. The battle continued until Dana’s Duskull appeared at her side again, prompting her to return her Blaziken.

“Scizor, follow Duskull,” she said, her Pokemon going on ahead of her.

Egypt || Town Outskirts || May 18th, Midday

“Water Gun,” Dana said. Her Marshtomp immediately fired a bolt of water at the opposing Marowak, hitting the Alolan variant square on its face and knocking it back into the wall behind it.

“Mud Bomb,” Dana said. Her Marshtomp’s imminent evolution was apparent in its newfound bulk, and Dana was looking forward to getting her Swampert back.

“Alright, let’s try this again,” Camden said once he’d tracked down another Eevee. Beside him, Ruby nodded, stepping out front. As he’d discovered yesterday, Ruby’s Morning Sun was invaluable in perking the Cherubi back up after a battle, and he was keen on using that to his advantage.

“Tackle ‘em down!” Camden said, Ruby running out in front of him.

May 23rd Eygpt Circe

After signing up for the Pokemon League finally, Circe was on her way to hunt down a trainer. She found her way to a small Oasis outside the city, while stopping to grab a drink a Torchic made it's way to the little pond. Circe finished grabbing her drink and when the Torchic finished it's own drink, Circe called out Ainz.

"Alright bone daddy, show me a strong Bone Club!!"The little Cubone charged in swinging its bone.

April 12th Japan Liz

Liz loved Japan, the country side was serene, and everything was beautiful. She had even talked to the government about maybe getting a special pass to check the temples in Kyoto out. While waiting for a response, she explored the surrounding area, and took studious notes. Along her travels, a Pikachu poked it's head out of some of the tall grass.

"Why is this planet so obsessed with you?? Oh well let's go Hades use Astonish!!" The little ghost pokemon came out, readying it's move.

May 17th, 2020, Egypt

Of all the miserably hot places to put an HQ, of COURSE they had to pick the hottest and the most miserable. Four years in the Idaho National Guard, two tours of duty in Afghanistan and he would rather be there at this moment in time than any where near Egypt. The only upside to the trip was that a quick check of his Pokedex had revealed that Torchic AND Eevee were floating around the area and so he had set out shortly after their learning experience in the HQ.

Qui-Gon walked besides him, snacking on a piece of scrap metal Forest had bought him shortly after their excursion started. He chirped happily as he walked as well before stopping. He had thought he'd seen...there it was again! It was a flash of orange and yellow feathers down an alleyway they were passing. Tuggins the former Guardsman's pants, and then leading him down it, sure enough, a Torchic was just playing away jumping around and singing to itself. Leaning down closely to his Togedemaru, Forest speaks softly.

"Alright, Qui-Gon, we're gonna lead with Rollout and then hit it with a Thunder Shock." Nodding, the Steel and Electric type Pokemon wasted no time launching the attack as ordered by his trainer.

Jason had abandoned all pretense of bothering with the Earth Trainers within a day of reaching Egypt. He'd overheard a pair of shop owners talking about an abnormally large bird with a rainbow trail behind it earlier that morning and since been out listening to conversations and asking around. Eventually, he had enough confirmed sightings that he went to the Professor stationed in the HQ. He had spent much of life chasing Latios of course, but he'd heard the other legends and was familiar with them enough to know who they had seen. Au nom d'Arceus, they're here! There are legendary Pokemon here. Half this village saw the sillouhette of Ho-oh not but a day and a half ago!" He paced anxiously. "This world isn't ready for the things they can do to it and we know it. I'm done here, if it's all the same to you. We can't let those powerful Pokemon run rampant here like they did back home."

...“Mud Bomb,” Dana said. Her Marshtomp’s imminent evolution was apparent in its newfound bulk, and Dana was looking forward to getting her Swampert back.

(Evolved Combusken > Blaziken)
(Marshtomp — Mud Bomb > Alolan Marowak, level 36, male)
(If Dana wins, she’ll throw a Pokeball)

The Alolan Marowak hit the wall, but remained stoic. His eyes were closed, as if pondering something very important. He opened his eyes just before Marshtomp's follow up move could make contact. He crossed his arms in front of himself to absorb the blow as best he could. Still, he remained calm and contemplative. Then with blinding speed, he charged forward. Marshtomp attacked multiple times as he approached, but he managed to dodge all of these blows. Once in range, he reared back and launched an attack of his own, Shadow Bone! It was not Marshtomp's turn to go rolling backward in pain... The rest of the battle was a back and forth extravaganza where both sides would dodge and weave and occasionally land very solid blows. It was clear. In terms of raw power, these two were nearly on par (with Marowak having the edge). But considering Marshtomp's type advantage...

Battle Result: Marshtomp Wins... Narrowly
(Marshtomp is now able to evolve.)

Pokeball Result: Dana Caught an Alolan Marowak!
(The ball only shakes twice. Congratulations!)

...“Tackle ‘em down!” Camden said, Ruby running out in front of him.

(Cherubi — Morning Sun > Eevee, male, lvl 12)

It wasn't until halfway through the battle that Camden realized, "This is not another Eevee! This is the exact same one as yesterday!" Not only that, but the flow of the battle was going nearly identical to the day before. At this rate, Eevee would win again... But then, SMACK, Cherubi and Eevee collided head on, and both of them fell to the ground. Extremely tired, both of them layed there for a minute looking at the other. But it would be Cherubi to be the one to right himself first...

Battle Result: VERY Close battle, but Cherubi WINS!

Pokeball Result: [urlhttps://www.roleplayerguild.com/ro…
(1st Pokeball attempt fails after three shakes)

Pokeball Result #2: Camden caught an Eevee!
(2nd Pokeball shakes only once before success!)

..."Alright bone daddy, show me a strong Bone Club!!"The little Cubone charged in swinging its bone.

(Level 10 male will catch if can)

Torchic jumped up in surprise and simultaneously dodged Cubone's attack. On his way back down, he closed his eyes and released the biggest Ember his little body could manage. Unfortunately, his attack wasn't aimed correctly at all, due to his closed eyes. BUT this actually worked for the little fellow, because when Cubone's instincts told him to dodge, he ended up jumping directly into the line of attack. And that's exactly how this battle played out... a clumsy but lucky Torchic vs. an impressive but unlucky Cubone...

Battle Result: Bad luck, Torchic wins and gets away.

..."Why is this planet so obsessed with you?? Oh well let's go Hades use Astonish!!" The little ghost pokemon came out, readying it's move.

(Level 20 male will catch if can)

Astonish hit and ALMOST made the Pikachu flinch, but he was stronger willed than that. He was a fighter. Sensing the difference in their brute force, he had to approach the battle from of different angle. So, he was off to the races! He sprinted around the battle grounds, making himself a hard to hit target, and when the moment was right, he struck with a powerful Electro Ball! That's how the rest of this battle went... Raw Speed vs. Tact and Power....

Battle Result: Duskull Wins!

Pokeball Result: Liz caught a Pikachu!
(The ball only shakes once.)

(Quick Note: Japan is the last stop on the tour. So by skipping to here, Liz can't go back to get Pokemon from the other HQs until our bootcamp phase ends.)

..."Alright, Qui-Gon, we're gonna lead with Rollout and then hit it with a Thunder Shock." Nodding, the Steel and Electric type Pokemon wasted no time launching the attack as ordered by his trainer.

(Torchic, Female, Level 13, attempting to capture)

A battle between two tiny Pokemon had never been so epic. Where Togedemaru found weakness in Torchic, Torchic returned everything in double. The battle was back and forth, and it lasted for a total of seven minutes, which a long time for a Pokemon battle... But in the end, one Pokemon had just a little more gas in the tank than the other....

Battle Result: Togedemaru Wins!

Pokeball Result: Forest caught a Torchic!
(The ball only shook once.)

...He paced anxiously. "This world isn't ready for the things they can do to it and we know it. I'm done here, if it's all the same to you. We can't let those powerful Pokemon run rampant here like they did back home."

"Your done here"??? repeated Professor Birch, as if he could hardly believe his ears. "Are you saying that you have no interest in completing the bootcamp, in helping these new trainers get their wings? Are you saying that you would rather go into the field now, alone?"

While the professor did find this idea slightly disturbing, he wouldn't stand in Jason's way if that's what he truly wanted to do. This was all voluntary after all... Also, unbeknownst to the trainers, there was a contingency plan in place, should some from the Pokemon world feel this way...

Ardanata “Dana” Stamos

Egypt || Town Outskirts || May 18th, Night

After her Marshtomp had evolved back into her Swampert, Dana had returned back to camp and dropped off the Marowak’s Pokeball before calling out her Pokemon for a few sparring sessions as she waited until night fell. Once darkness had set upon the arid streets, Dana caught a ride to town, walking down empty lanes until her Duskull returned to her side, eyes blank as ever.

“Lead the way,” she said, turning to follow the Duskull. The streetlights cast long shadows against the pavement, the streets themselves growing sparser as Dana made her way to the fringes of town.

“I’ll leave it to you then,” Dana said as the Meowstic came into view. Her Duskull slid into the ground as Dana walked towards the Meowstic, who finally looked over, sensing her approach. However, in looking at Dana, it failed to notice her Duskull until the ghost-type was poised to attack; her Duskull’s Confuse Ray hit square-on as the ghost-type drifted into view, readying its Shadow Sneak.

“Yes! You did it, Ruby!” Camden shouted as he ran over and scooped up the Eevee’s Pokeball. Beside him, his Cherubi was already perking himself up with a final few Morning Suns.

“Oh jeez, what am I even going to evolve it into?” Camden asked, a hand going to his forehead. Ruby, arriving beside him, shrugged.

“Ah whatever,” Camden said, getting to his feet. “Let’s get back to camp first. Get some food and all that.”

Meowstic stumbled backward a bit in confusion but recovered quickly. In a fit of rage, he unleashed a nasty Psyshock as his counter attack. The attack came in so quickly that Duskull was unable to avoid it. Meowstic's ferocious tenacity would carry him through an otherwise even match-up. The end result...

Battle Result: Meostic Wins and Runs Away

Luxury Hotel in Mexico City...
It happened in the middle of the night. Cameras caught the whole thing...

The first sign of foul play was the hotel manager making a call to all staff in order to hold an emergency meeting, including security personnel. As if his order wasn't strange enough, many workers recount a slightly distant undertone to his voice, as if he wasn't all there in the head. When interviewed by the police later that night, the manager swore that he had no recollection of making any such request. In fact, he couldn't remember anything leading up to that moment.

Once everyone was gathered in the lobby, a fine mist like substance began to fill the air. One after the other, they all fainted. Not ten seconds after the last person fell to the ground, a figure in all black (including a ski mask) emerged from underneath the front desk. This person then ran to a side entrance to open a door. This allowed three more figures in all black to enter, but they were not alone. They were followed by several Rattatta and Zubat, as well as a few other Pokemon (namely: a Koffing, a Muk, and a couple Ekans). The first figure (the one who was already inside) then gave them all master keys to each room. Keys in hand, they ran off with pace and precision, followed by their Pokemon, while the first figure stayed behind with the sleeping hotel workers.

Over the course of the next thirty minutes, they ran the halls, each one of them carrying a large black bag. They would open the doors, allowing their Rattatta and Zubat to expertly scurry into and out of rooms. They did this until their bags were full. When finished, they ran back downstairs to meet up and make their escape. The last one out the door (the first perp) was followed by a Drowsey and a Gloom. He/she made sure to wave at the camera on the way out...

Mililani Kekoa
May 17th, mid afternoon, Greater Cairo, Egypt

Ever since she'd caught the Jigglypuff in France, guilt had worn at Mililani about leaving Pokemon in the headquarters after promising to care for them. They'd be alright, given how Pokeballs worked, but she didn't want to leave them to find several months had passed without their knowledge. It was bad enough that her Pokemon back in Alola would go through that. Were they even still in the PC, or had they ended up elsewhere too?

Now, as she brought the Pokeball with the Spritzee inside it to Professor Birch's office, she acknowledged the reasons for her reluctance to switch out. One, it would bring back memories of those awful two months she'd spent separated from her Pokemon. The second was the thought of leaving any of her current team with people whose motives she questioned made her uneasy - but they were already a part of this anyway. There was no avoiding the fact.

"Aouli, I'll get you back out soon," she whispered to a Pokeball she took from her belt, even though it was like talking to someone in a deep sleep. "When the world's more used to Pokemon." Taking her Drampa out flying always attracted attention here, excessive fascination in some cases, fear in others. "And Keahi, hopefully it won't be long until people start to calm down." Alolan variants really had proven popular with Earth people, who would fuss over them even if they didn't want to be fussed over.

Her hands felt oddly heavy as she held out the capsules. "Professor. I have two Pokemon here to be kept safely in storage," she said, looking up at him with her sharp, wary gaze. "As for this Spritzee, and the Jigglypuff... I can't just catch Pokemon and not spend time with them." From what she'd heard, the storage system was advanced enough to easily transport Pokemon between headquarters. She just hoped Mahina wouldn't be too bewildered at yet another unfamiliar place.

Ryan Harrell
May 17th, mid afternoon, Greater Cairo, Egypt

Ryan watched the ball give one, two, three shakes on the ground. His luck seemed to be holding out... Until the capsule broke open, releasing the Eevee.

"Ehh, you're still hungry, aren't you?" Ryan said as the fox picked up the berry and started to withdraw into a corner. He wondered if it would run away, but instead, it dropped the fruit and resumed eating. Its wary glances became less frequent. He must have been a little too hasty there, Ryan thought, waiting for the Eevee to finish. Maybe Corentin's boundless energy was rubbing off on him.

Once it had eaten the last of the berry, the Eevee raised its head and slowly drew closer. Ryan picked up the Pokeball again, watching for the Pokemon's reaction. "Are you ready?" he softly asked. As much as he'd love to get an Eevee, if it really didn't want to be caught, he'd respect that.

The evolution Pokemon took a step forward, then another. It hesitated, tilting its head, then gave Ryan's hand a gentle nuzzle. "Vee!" it yapped.

On the second throw, the Pokeball only shook once before settling still on the ground. The Eevee had made its choice.

...

The first thing Ryan did when he reached the headquarters was place the newly occupied Pokeball in the machine. Thankful for the much more bearable temperature, he leaned against the wall as he waited. His skin felt sore and dry, most likely from sunburn, but it had been worth it.

At the sound of a "ping", he retrieved the Pokeball and let out his third team member. "Ee?" the fox squeaked, staring around the room like a puppy introduced into a new home. She looked down at herself, stretching out her limbs, which no longer bore any wounds.

"You see? I told you," Ryan said, crouching and slowly holding out a hand. The Eevee inched forward, sniffing, then let him stroke her.

Corentin, squealing with delight at the new addition to the team, barrelled forward to join in the befriending. "Cast?" He tilted his head in confusion when the Eevee bolted, peering out at him from under a chair, her fur fluffed up.

"Please, Corentin, give her some space," Ryan urged. "Alexandria needs time to settle in." He approached the Eevee, trying to coax her out. "Alexandria. That's what I'll call you. I mean we're nowhere actually near the city, but how's that as a name?"

Alexandria shuffled from her hiding place, allowing her trainer to pet her once again. She hunched a little as Corentin floated over, but this time he made no sudden movements.

"Gilkey, meet Alexandria." Trusting the Foongus to keep her cool, Ryan let her out. "Xandri, Gilkey." The Foongus stayed in place for a moment, then hopped closer with a gentle "Foo?" At ease from the much more subdued reaction, Alexandria padded over and squeaked in response.

Half a team already, Ryan thought as he watched his three Pokemon. This was going even better than he'd expected.

May 18th, morning, Greater Cairo, Egypt

Ryan headed down to the breakfast hall, Alexandria in his arms. Even if Pokemon didn't look quite like they did in the games, he was sure an Eevee wasn't supposed to be this skinny. "Let's get you another good meal," he said, cradling her in one arm and tickling her behind the ears.

The fox tensed, ears pricking up at shouts and mewling noises from a nearby room. Tightening his grip, Ryan turned to the open door of the battle room, where two trainers had found a way to fully wake themselves and their Pokemon up for the day ahead. Alexandria squealed, claws digging into her trainer's skin as a Litten pounced at a Glameow. Both cats rolled across the floor.

"Ow! Uh... Let's move along." Remembering the thieving cat from yesterday, Ryan stepped away. To his puzzlement, Alexandria kept her eyes on the doorway, watching the Glameow jump back up and giggle. The elation was just as clear on the Pokemon's faces as on those of the trainers. Craning her neck, the Eevee began to relax as the battle unfolded - a friendly competition, which she seemed able to tell apart from a fight with more vicious intentions.

"Hm? Xandri?" Ryan ruffled Alexandria's fur to make sure she'd be comfortable. "You're ok watching this?" As the Eevee took in the scene, Corentin bobbed in the air, babbling something to her. Gilkey, meanwhile, stood by her trainer's feet, silently observing as usual.

Once the victorious Litten had held its head high and both Pokemon had been returned, Ryan continued on his way to the hall. "So... You'd be alright doing that?" he asked Alexandria, gesturing towards her, then towards the training room to ensure she'd know what he was talking about. The Eevee glanced back at the doorway, then nodded.

Maybe she wants to get stronger, after having been picked on, Ryan thought. "Alright, let's see if we can find someone to challenge later on. But first, breakfast - Hey, wait, Corentin!"

He didn't know if it was because of the battle or the promise of food, but once again Corentin was zooming ahead of him. He sprinted after the little weather Pokemon, Alexandria leaping from his arms and scampering beside him, Gilkey hopping along as fast as her stalk would carry her.

Well, at least this meant they'd all get their own morning workout.

"Pissaro!! I really want this Ghost type, please help me. Confusion!!" Mr Mime came out of his pokeball, waves of psychic energy rolling off of him.

(Misdreavous female level 13 will catch if wins)

Right in the middle of Pissaro's attack, the wild Misdreavous began to shout (Astonish). This caused Pissaro's concentration to break and allowed Misdreavous the time to get in close for an attack... After a few minutes of fairly one sided battling, Mr. Mime soon found himself laying flat on his back, while Misdreavous floated away.

Result: Misdreavous Wins

Just then, a young trainer with a red hat came up from behind. He spoke steadily and from a safe distance, trying not to startle her. "Sorry you lost there kid, Psychic-types just aren't a good match for Ghost-types... Oh sorry, how rude." He held out his hand. "Name's Red."

(Quick Note: This is indeed Red from the games and Pokemon Origins. I don't intend for him to be joining your character or anything. This is just a cameo. Feel free to control his speech and actions in your next post as long as you keep it within what he might actually do and say.)
