I don't know much about the meta of the premise, it's alright for someone like me to join right? I've only watched the first episode but as I'm on mobile data, I'd have to wait till the next week to watch two more episodes.

At most, I'd be wikipedia surfing for OOC information but it would be nice if we could have a basic summary of how to create a character in the OOC.

I'd also like to ask, if we are to be related to the guild mentioned in the introduction then would most of us likely roleplay knights or clerics? It is mentioned that it is known for their certain classes.

@Spiritzer I'm not the best source of information on how to make a character for this series. There's a lot of meta info that is tediously listed on the wiki. Basically the jest is pick a race/racial class: Humans, Elves, and Dwarves and the like for humanoid classes. Demi-humans have lizardmen, and such. And undead such as vampires, liches, and the like. A few more will be listed on the wiki this is off the top of my head.

Then you pick a basic class such as warrior, barbarian, etc.

That goes up to level 15 I think check the wiki once more for a better understanding. Following that depending on how a level the character is in game you can pick different sub-classes, and specializations. Some races can't do certain things according to lore/wiki. You can also sub-class into others such as a monk can be a wizard, or a warrior as well. For example Sebas is a Striker/Monk/Ki master. He's primarily geared around his fists. While Shaltear is a Cursed Caster, Valkyrie Lancer, and also a Cleric. Meaning shes a close range special caster.

Of course Ainz's group is high leveled so they have a lot of subclasses. We probably won't all be as specialized if so our skill set will be spread thin.

Other than that weapons can be magical, or plain magical versions tend to be more power. Silver, and holy weapons are more powerful against undead for example. Human have less potent racial potential but more class potential for example. So its all in how you build your person.

I can try to explain it further but really there is no easy way to describe how to make a character.

I have the gist of things, maybe I can even write one up. There are too many classes spoken and unspoken still, perhaps we could simply have a written description by the players of their chosen jobs.

Occultist (10)

Occultists are magic casters who draw their techniques from an eldritch source, be it a pact with a voice in their heads, a membership to a dark cult which patronizes some unknown entity or an arcane tome with nothing but names in it. They specialize in dealing necrotic damage over time and stacking these at range through quick casting, however they have little to no defense even compared to other spellcasters.

Diplomat (5)

Diplomats are courtesans, courtiers and intermeditiaries between conflicts. They rely on a combination of good looks, manners and refined words to persuade others to their cause. They get a bonus to social situations and can redirect threat with their skills, protecting party members or avoiding damage by doing so. Reccommended for those with high CHARISMA.

Then if someone's class description and related skills get too ridiculous (etc I CAN DO EVERYTHING WELL), we know that we're not dealing with a roleplayer but a mary sue instead.

I suppose it would be something like that but there are also skills (such as fortify magic, mantle of the undead, moving fortress etc.), and items to take into account. I'm asking someone to borrow their version of the CS but if I can't get it then I will be making a cs skeleton myself on the ooc.

As stated as well I won't be allowing complete power gaming to an extent. For example I won't allow someone to be completely immune to physical attacks as a mage caster. An you can't just keep constantly healing yourself as a vampire.

👍. What is the average level of the roleplay's player characters btw?

cant find a definitive statement id say 70-85 for experienced players ainz said around 70 is when that when a player reaches level 70, one needs to have time-stop countermeasures in-case of ambushes and PK. Roleplayers in game could probably flux around whatever level they wanted their guy to be at for that role.

So time stop magic will be a thing? Oooh That'll be tricky to implement in a roleplay without it being imbalanced.

No halting time is a bit ridiculous. If so it will only be for a few seconds.

Yeah, hah I'm imagining the whole world grinding to a halt because of all the level 70+ pvp and timestops going on.

Random paladin: "Err ...server lag?"
Random wizard: "Nah, they just opened the guild versus guild pvp zone. /shrug."

I will be making my own character a paladin oriented character. I'll post it when its ready. He will be affiliated with the empire of order and likely be taking over as head of that guild, and thus our general home base setting, by the time we transfer which will happen after we all introduce our characters there. If you want to make an npc of your own you'll have to fill out a necessary sheet for that but you may skip out on the bio as well they're bots not all bots have backstories.

Well that's good, no lack of healers or tanks at least :), I'll be the Magic Item enchanter (also known as Artificer, I think?) of the guild then.

Those lightsabers are not going to make themselves all glowy by themselves, ya know?
