Welp, I guess the one way to fix the fact that people kept going over the word limit was by removing it. Let's hope brevity is a word that's in everyone's vocabulary.
@Exit Nah, I'm running a very demanding detective RP, and I just barely have the time to participate as a voter while still participating in two other RPs. If the entries are too numerous or too long, I might not even vote.
EDIT: should note that I'd be very happy if the contests got a lot of attention from both contestants and voters, but I know what I'm capable of.
Was there a word limit on the previous contests? I'm glad it was taken away for this one then, I don't like having to keep an eye on the word count as I write.
I am looking forward to writing for this prompt, I already know what character to use ^_^
Sooooo uh, sorry 'bout my absence. Went to the hospital yesterday with severe abdominal pain, and it turned out I had gall stones! Yay. Had my gall bladder removed this morning, but I'm home now albeit quite sore. I'll have the voting thread up as soon as I can.
Seems like there was a decent voter turn out this time. I wonder if that's because there was comparatively less to read compared to previous contests, or because the contests are becoming a thing again.
I am both surprised and disturbed that my story about a man in the modern era losing everything and being gunned down in the street by Hitler won. Thanks, all you strange, strange people.
@Mattchstick Typically @Frizan picks the theme, but he has listened to the community in the past. the collab contest was something I suggested that he ran with. So all I can say is that if you suggest something, he'll consider it.
