I have been trying to log in on my phone for the past 3 days but it seems to have a slight issue. After filling in the log in credentials it loads me back to the home screen without logging me in. It doesn't error, it doesm't crash, and it isn't telling me the credentials are wrong, it just isn't logging me in.

I logged it for Mahz to look at when he comes about. Unfortunately at the moment I can offer little else in the way of troubleshooting Google and yourself couldn't already achieve, I am sorry to say. :(

@OdinNo, I did have Proxy enabled at first and thought the same thing. Unfortunately it did work after I turned it off either.

@Master Crim Alright, fair enough. Sounded like tokens weren't being sent?

Which browser? Do you know how to power-reload a page, forging it to reload everything (sometimes, a device will cache a non-logged-in version of a page)? Do you get the RPG cookie?

I use Chrome on my phone, and don't store cache or cookies to prevent things like that form happening. It is very odd, not like a pre-cache page; after entering my log in info it just loads into the home page without logging in.

@Master Crim
Not allowing cookies may be the issue as the site relies on cookies to remember your login session.

Interesting. I have never had this problem until now. I have always blocked cookies to free up space, and until now that has never been a issue; as soon as I allowed cookies it loaded perfectly fine. WTF

Thanks for the help.

That's cool!

So for a bit of trivia, a cookie is a file that will store data on a pc (eg: chosen languages, login sessions, clicked links, shopping carts, etc). They are designed to track all your information so when you return to a site your preferences are still the same. As cookie sizes can only be so much some sites will choose to use third party cookies that will store a user ID on your computer and store information on their servers with the cookie linking that unique ID to said information.

The Guild uses the former for how it operates and it helps limit the information that it needs to store on the server itself. It helps speed up loading times as your computer has cashed much of the information already and, in theory, the only information it needs to store server side is the posts and the last time you logged in. There's no need for a third party cookie as it's a simple site unlike Ebay or Amazon which has so much information it needs to remember.

While blocking cookies can help prevent issues like those pesky ads and sites gathering what you selected in searches, it can create the issue of where you will notice some sites where you always have to re-select preferences or will take longer to load because it's treating you like a new user every time.
