With the imminent release of Kingdom Hearts 3 looming in the distance, I decided I want to run a game based around the franchise. Anyone who knows me knows that this is not the first KH game I've tried to run on this site. But hopefully my idea this time around is unique enough to garner interest.

Long ago, the worlds were once together as one in what is now known as the Age of Fairy Tales. In this period, Wielders of the Keyblade used their titular weapons to safeguard the Light that protected the world. Five wielders known as the Foretellers, each one a student of the first Keyblade Master known only as the Master of Masters, started their own organizations called Unions in accordance with the Master's wishes. In time the Unions grew, and as they did so did tension between the five Foretellers. Before he mysteriously vanished, the Master of Masters mysteriously warned of a looming disaster, and a traitor among the Foretellers. This created dissent and distrust until eventually, the five unions clashed in what was later called the Keyblade War. The conflict was so destructive, so disastrous that the World was shattered and its remains scattered across the Lanes Between until they each formed new worlds. The old Keyblade Order was gone, but a new one began to blossom in its place. Situated in the Land of Departure, it is here that young Keyblade Wielders are taught the precepts and trained to strike down any who would upset the delicate balance of Light and Darkness. It is also here, at the world's center, that a powerful relic of the Age of Fairy Tales is buried. A Keyblade, known only as the X-Blade. It is said that this weapon was what the Unions originally fought over. The blade itself is broken, much like the original world, shattered into twenty pieces: 7 of Light and 13 of Darkness. It is in the Land of Departure that two Keyblade Masters each train their pupils in the way of the Keyblade. But when the pieces of the X-Blade mysteriously vanish, the two Masters are unable to agree on how best to diffuse the situation. One of the Masters departs alongside his pupils and they decide to brave the dangers of the Darkness to recover the X-Blade. Meanwhile, the remaining Master tasks his pupils with tracking down the missing Master and pupils and to do everything in their power to prevent another Keyblade War from erupting.

That's the gist of the plot, but there's a twist to it. Anyone who joins will have the option to play as a pupil of one of the two Masters. This is the inspiration for the RP's name. The Seekers are the pupils who left the Land of Departure in search of the missing X-Blade pieces, while the Chasers are the pupils who were sent to track down the missing wielders. Both parties are equally the protagonist, and both sides will be equally in the right. But the Seekers show themselves to be far more willing to put themselves closer to Darkness in order to achieve a desired outcome. So it's a party sticking primarily to the Light and one that ventures into the Darkness. Which team will you be a part of?

I'd be willing to join in. I've been wanting to play a character that skids the line. More of a brute type of character who's good at heart but generally is willing to do less than savory things if it leads to a 'better' ending so to speak. Basically a not so goody two shoes.

I think I'll make a Chaser that specializes in Cure and Barrier magic! He's a soft spoken but incredibly strong willed guy! I can't wait for this RP to start!

So we've got 2 potential Seekers, 2 potential Chasers, and one who hasn't chosen yet. Alright, if I throw down a character of my own that'll it make it two trios. Pretty fitting, if I'm honest.

I'll work on an actual thread of some kind tomorrow most likely. It's getting late right now so I probably don't want to get started only to have to stop and go to bed. Would have responded to everyone sooner but I went to see Avengers tonight and only just got back around thirty minutes ago so... yeah.

I do want to make a couple things more clear since my synopsis was kind of vague about it. This will indeed be an AU, meaning that canon characters and events will either be different or nonexistent. I'm also going to be primarily using Birth By Sleep elements (Commands, Shotlocks, etc) for character progression and skills so bear that in mind. Finally, Keyblades, I'm a little torn on how to go about using them. I know the norm is to let everyone have their character-specific Keyblades and they stick with that, but another part of me wants to keep to the theme of progression and/or escalation by having Keyblades change and evolve with each Keychain collected and added to them, similar to how the games worked. What are you guys' thoughts on that?

As long as I get to modify my own progression with the keychains that be fine.

And can we at least have the character sheet?

@Double Custom keyblades would be nice but I'm indifferent either way. I'll have my guy be whoever you need him to be if you still need me for the roleplay that is.

@Double Yeah, I'm with Van with this unqiue cool keyblades would be nice but I wouldn't mind not having any. And I'm okay with everythin gyou said so I'm pretty hyped to start!
