I'm pretty sure Midnight would be crippled in Verd's stead. I made it pretty clear when making him he'd still be effected by physical attacks. Likewise he shot him at almost point blank range you're not a speedster, and thus don't have reaction timing to get off that sort of feat.

1. We were all in an orderly line. Whos to say i wasn't behind him.
2. Reaction time pertains not just to movements but thought process.
3. Being right behind him, and recognizing Verds intentions, it seems obvious what White Skull will do in retaliation.
4. Exoskeleton, and a shotgun hit would take up minimal mass as it passes through his purely energy based 'body'
5. Left hand of exoskeleton is pure steel and thus could block a majority of the shot.
6. If midnight is behind verd, and skull shot point blank, Midnight is within arms reach and aware of the situation.

We're not in an orderly line the trailers aren't thin ones they're the stuff you see hauling lots of storage. If we're all still in a line after a handful of minutes then something is pretty weird. Even if Midnight had the knowledge that skull would react violently to that you're still not fast enough to dodge a shot a point blank. You're not superman speed here. Skull didn't even pull out his shotgun he shot it right through its holster and doing anything before he did that would mean you preemptively attacked Skull, and it would null my entire post even if it did.

I'm calling it as that I'm not changing my verdict. I am not doing this because I have anything against Evil. This is a cause, and effect reaction. I've even freely stated that killing Skull for this is a legitimate possibility but it would end the rp because the biggest boss gets pissed off at losing the man who makes his chemical weapons. I don't like to try, and rail road roleplays, and I try to give my players the benefit of the doubt (see Sakura King getting wrecked by a car despite being an air based veteran hero.) but this is still a roleplaying campaign and reckless actions do have their pluses, and minuses.

Edit: Anyways the shot isn't even the valid point. The thing that set all this off is the syringes that stopped the poison. Verd smashing them is what put him in the spot that he is in.

This a hero academia rp right? Where people with crazy quirks are still inhumanly fast and agile despite quirks not pertaining to such benefits.
Whats really to say Midnight with his powerful mind and quick perceptions didnt just bend down and stop the shotgun from aiming upwards.

Even if he wasn't in line he was still next to Skull and speaking to them. The antidote also wouldn't be necessary cause Midnight doesn't have a body to infest. Insects that touch his 'skin' would shrivel up as they come in contact.

So lets say all this is true. Id wager Midnights fast enough to stop Slull from angling his holster high enough to shot the kid anywhere but in the legs, preventing fatal damage but maybe still getting a pretty nasty fleshwound.

What say you to this thought, despoiler of decorative nicknacks and good times! Lol

If White Skull is supposed to "cull the herd", will the boys on top allow him to come back empty-handed? I mean, it's fine if Black Hand is nepotistic, and White Skull's their favorite bitch-baby and actual ability and results mean nothing, otherwise, isn't White Skull technically in the same boat as the others? I mean he has to at least let some of the villains survive so he has something to show, or else it's all wasted effort, a failed mission as it were. White Skull should be scrambling to save Midnight and Dieselpunk AT LEAST. There are also other villains worth saving, like the ones with Aya and Zion who were decently capable. White Skull took an idiotic Gambit with the parasites, but it wasn't foolproof.i think from a story perspective, White Skull needs to atone for his idiocy and over-the-top methods. Black Hand should be more professional than this.

@Eviledd1984 dont you worry friend. Papa Zel will argue the end result and push for a 1-time leniency/warning so rather than a gutwound you get a leg shot up real bad or something. Everybody deserves a warning and you came late.

Alright skull gets stopped by midnight dies by poison because lack of antidote which skull took at the start when he and his lackies took on the way there. They were driving and away from the others, the hand doesn't know and will punish skull but he sincerely doesn't care about lives otherwise he wouldn't work directly with him. I'm not changing my verdict here because evil essentially walked up to the dragon and kicked it in the face and these are tiny parasites killing them inside fries his lungs and his body. If you want to leave because of that fine but its not changing the fact that while skull is in the wrong verd is more so he dug his own grave despite skulls straight forward use this or you're dead approach.

I'm not changing this.

No? There's no one with a quirk who can do that in black hand and the cybernetics expert isn't capable of bringing back deaf brains. There are two outcomes of this diesel dies or verd does stopping the trucks in the middle of the city for the other cures in the other truck isn't really viable either because well its hero city then there's no escape

Wait, so all of White Skull's lackeys took the antidote before this whole thing began? Even though, at least in Midnight and Dieselpunks's attack, the lackeys were highly incompetent and didn't do jack? Then it doesn't really sound like he's culling the herd or giving every villain a fair shake, just that he's out to fuck with the villains specifically in our group and wasting Black Hands resources to do it.

So in other words, Black Hand is basically this:

Black Hand is nepotistic, and White Skull's their favorite bitch-baby and actual ability and results mean nothing.

Good to know where we stand going forward. Time to suck up to the higher ups, lol.

While we're at it, I suppose I'll mention these story inconsistencies that went completely unadressed:

I do want to point out a few things:

1. I spent a few posts smashing buildings and flinging debris, drywall, bricks, concrete, etc., as AoE attacks. They were auto-dodged, in fact, they were hardly mentioned in the GM posts if at all.

2. Part of the tactic was also to create 'difficult terrain' by strewing the ground with junk. Also auto-dodged or hardly mentioned.

3. Taser and explosive arrow tips are questionable. How much electrical juice can you pack into an arrow-sized warhead? Cars have been known to shrug off lightning at times, and since Dieselpunk's fuel is of the nonflammable variety, the risk of damage is minimal. And since Diesel's control of her mech body is an adaptable system, she isn't wholly dependent on electronic control; a car only really needs its battery to start the engine and power accessories (which Diesel doesn't need to operate). I can understand the explosive head doing damage since you don't need a large quantity of C4 to do serious damage, but these kids were in a training session. Unless archer's quirk is Creation, and they're testing what kind of crazy weapons he can create on the fly, then it doesn't make sense for him to be training with taser or C4 warheads, especially if they went to the trouble of emptying the gas out of all the cars as a safety precaution.

4. There doesn't seem to be a limit to these kids' quirks. Sure, speedster was 'tuckered out' after creating a hurricane, but now he's running full speed carrying a classmate.

5. They are literally fighting a giant. Not everyone can be Shingeki no Kyojin and make fighting giants easy peasy.

6. I wouldn't mind if Midnight and Dieselpunk's fight was difficult, but that it was also extremely difficult for Aya and Zion, and Verd, is questionable. I mean, where are the grapeheads and tailboys and invisigirls? Everyone's Deku, Bakugou, and Todoroki.

@Zelosse I think letting the kids get away with a booboo is fine, but the fact that we really only injured one so far, with archer's injuries still pending, I say is a poor showing on the villains' part. You don't start a reign of terror by just nicking one girl's arm. Honestly, I'm just listing these out, without any intent to actually challenge them, but in the aftermath, I think it's fair for Dieselpunk to say that White Skull's lackeys are garbage, since they did basically nothing in Midnight and Diesel's 2v3. And since a leader is only as good as his organization, Diesel's respect for White Skull will have dropped significantly. I mean, Diesel's mind might change if Zion, Aya, or Verd have glowing reviews of White Skull's villains, but I doubt it.

There's also this:

GM: This is a villain RP
GM: Creates dark and edgy NPCs
GM: OMG SkyFall, you're too dark and edgy!
GM: OMG Verd, don't actually kill the students!

SkyFall is punished for being an apathetic psychopath who makes bad decisions ie. disregarding hostages)
White Skull is rewarded with plot immunity for being an apathetic psychopath who makes bad decisions (poisoning all his allies)

Dieselpunk: throws debris everywhere in giant form
GM: she hits nothing
Verd: I just wanna shoot her in the leg
GM: he hits a vital blood vessel

In other words, a player character is:

1. Shadewalker's bitch
2. Captain East's bitch
3. King Sakura's bitch
4. Random bank heist thug's bitch
5. White Skull's bitch
6. UA students' bitch
7. All of the above
8. ...
9. PROFIT!!

And: this RP should be titled: Everyone Dieselpunk wants to be her little bro dies.

@Stern AlgorithmYou think those were Skull's boys? They're dead now. Skull's boys are the guys in the suits like the guy who spitballs hard enough to knock guns out of peoples hands. Those grunts were on the same chopping block as you including the flamer guy, and the shielder.

Stern you're also acting overtly salty if you have a problem with how I'm gm'ing that's fine a player has the right to be so but you're acting out in a way that is extremely sarcastic, and rude. Shadewalker is the boss of the general group he sees things fairly. His quirk can be considered overpowered but he has an extremely fatal flaw, in it that prevents him from doing certain things. Captain East is a pseudo drunk but he is vastly stronger than the average hero. He is second in command to shadewalker's group in its entirety. His rank is the reason why people have to listen to him respecting him is optional, Shadewalker certainly doesn't in his own right.

King Sakura got blown up by a car, that he barely survived, and used the last of his strength to escape the group. He managed to pull a civilian away once, and then put up a solid fight in which he couldn't intently kill player characters. I'm not sure how you want me to make a reoccurring character without them incompetent, or lucky. His friend elephants the elephant man was also sent to the hospital with extreme burns. Staying longer would've resulted in more heroes in what should've been a quick bank heist distraction. The objective wasn't to kill the heroes in the first place it was about sending a message about banks not being safe to certain backers.

The thugs at the bank were highly trained mercenaries payed by the black hand. They set the situation up in order to make the group's heist to go effectively as possible. Player uncoordination resulted in them losing a hostage, be it warranted or not I chose to let it happen because the heroes were prepped at that time, and were waiting for the mercenaries to make a mistake. Likewise I don't believe them ordering around the group was a thing they said to do things, and the players were free to ignore them, or not. The only time it specifically effected a player was to specifically make sure King didn't spear the aforementioned player.

White Skull is a psychotic. He was put in charge of the group, and is a defacto boss on the same rank as Shade but for a different department. Shade doesn't typically go for loud explosive parties like Skull. Skull here had a job that he chose to make extreme. Weed out possibly weak villains. He chose to do that through poison specifically with his own bio-engineered parasites. He made those parasites presumably for another job at some point. I was/am intending to introduce them as a assist later on our side. Skull simply is currently in a position where he holds most of the cards. I don't need to point out he is in no position to exactly defend himself against Midnight who has a distinct advantage on him specifically. Not that he specifically cares if he dies, or not. More over the current situation is only happening BECAUSE EVIL BROKE THE VIALS OF THE CURE SKULL SPECIFICALLY TOLD HIM WAS EXACTLY THAT. That is in no way, shape, or form my fault as a gm. More over Skull isn't so much respected because he's a boss but because hes a raving mad man who's capable of making insanely effective gases, and bio weapons specifically aimed to help The black hand. His role in the fight was only to hold off the cops, and he took out he teacher off screen with only the few goons he had helping him out.

The UA's lost the battle. More over auto-dodging, and such is a thing they're NPC enemies should i expound on how they MIGHT dodge something? The high ground in the fight with Mori allowed a quick hero, and two ranged heroes to effectively use their quirks to stone wall people. High ground advantage is a aspect of warfare. Same reason why the archer was hiding in the buildings. One is dead, Archer could've died if both you, and midnight had posted more he was pretty much cornered, and out of arrows. His last shot was a bloody boxing glove arrow that should tell you he used all his effective ammo. You all left before you actually finished him because posts were taking too long. The other girl is crippled mentally for life after seeing her friends shot up. Laser fingers lost his fight, Mori was the bakugo equivalent of the group he was the strongest. The other villains failed to help specifically for the reasons I have already stated including them being weak/inefficient. The girl called Chi got taken down rather easy. And Verd's attempt to attack the psychic's group was advertly wrong. He went for a front approach knowing the girl behind him was an earth manipulator in quirk. They were also second years which Shade Walker would've told you once you got back home. The speedster got away, and the angel girl did too but the girl was injured enough to take her out of the active fight. The tokyo special was arguably the only thing they did that inflicted any sort of minor damage. Keep in mind I can just say as GM the speedster got a 'second wind', and that can be the end of it. It should be as GM I am the person who runs the story. Figured having someone to build an arc out of the archer's sacrifice would've done something for the story as a whole.

@Stern Algorithm@Eviledd1984@Zelosse If this is all considered I'll present an ultimatum. I'll shark jump all of this. I'll have a skull grunt who is capable of copying physical objects, such as the syringe, copy the thing and fix everyone. The trade off being no more chances for anyone. If you do something overtly inane such as setting off a bomb inside a building while you're in it, or charge an entire line of enemy veteran heroes with no back up than that's it. Game set match. I believe that's a fair trade off for throwing away continuity. I alluded to that before I even got everyone in the trucks to escape. And before that something should have come from the red flag of Skull being so confident of his ability to deal with anyone who didn't beat the students. The only other options is to A. leave the roleplay, or b. accept it. Evil can either accept the previous statement, and drink the syringe juice off the floor. Or make a new character if you all hate the compromise i'm offering.

Basically, as players our intentions to behave villainously have been impeded by the following reasons: it would be a PR nightmare for the organization, or our organization is not capable enough to put us in a position where we have any sort of advantage, which just comes down to poor planning on the organizations part, or unnecessary malicious infighting.

Then you introduce White Skull who seems to be getting away with anything, despite the organization supposedly caring about PR. If he's good at making bioweapons but is psychotic, fine, but the org should keep him in the lab, and in a straight jacket when outside the lab, not in charge of a major operation. This not being the case, one can only assume the org is incompetent.

I think Verd did the right thing. Either White Skull needs to reevaluate his shenanigans, or the org has to reconsider how they use White Skull. Otherwise it's just nepotism and/or incompetence.

I see White Skull as a power fantasy that is frankly inconsistent with the RP

You can see him as Satan for all I care he's the farthest thing from a power fantasy I'm not some raging sociopath I am not nor ever intend to be like skull. If anything I alignment more to east. White skull is a copy of skull face from mgs 5. He has no real authority outside of what group he's assigned to if you don't like how I do things stern then leave keep going on about it and ill force you out.
