"I can quit any time I want. Then again, that begs the question; why should I?"
Personal Information
Name:Kira Lawson
Accolade:Behemoth
Age:34
Gender:Female
Nationality:New Zealand
Appearance:Easily the tallest woman out of those serving XCOM as soldiers, Kira's standing height of 185cm (6' 1") puts her on a comparable footing with the many men on the force. She weighs in at approximately 74kg (163lbs). While she does have pronounced hips, Kira has always been a top-heavy woman, with a BWH Ratio of 38-25-29 if measured in inches and 97-64-74 if measured in centimeters. Her shoulder length coal black hair will often, but not always cover her right eye. As a final not to her appearance, while Kira's face is attractive enough and makes her look younger than she is, her skin is very pale, indicating a lack of Vitamin D in her system.
Personality:Kira has never been one to go out and try to make friends, having always preferred her own company. As such, she's often one of the quiet ones, often wanting to get straight to the point of a conversation as opposed to exchanging pleasantries. However, while she remains silent most of the time, Kira isn't afraid to speak her mind when it's her turn to add some input on the matter at hand. And once she's made up her mind, there's no going back; she'll do her damnedest to ensure things pan out how she decided would be her way.
While first impressions of Kira tend to dictate that she's cold and aloof towards most everyone around her, a lot of that comes down to an internal depression that she's suffering from. Having lost one's entire family can do that to a person, so it's understandable that she'd rather keep herself detached from her squad-mates, if only to ease the pain that she'd feel in the extremely likely event that she'll lose them. This is the main reason for her reluctance to share her past, and why she's quick to become defensive should anyone attempt to pry. She may put up a stone-cold front, but Kira is hollow on the inside, and all she has left to her is her pride. Expecting Kira to swallow her pride, therefore, would be a tall order. Even the smallest amount of damage to it would get her depressed all over again.
If there's any time in which Kira can put her sadness behind her, it would be whilst she's on a mission. But even then, her lack of confidence will be written all over her face. In her mind, she has no reason to be confident; she's seen what some of the aliens can do first hand, and such, she doesn't want to underestimate them. Furthermore, what she doesn't know is how well her squad-mates would fare against some of the things she's seen, whether she just witnesses it herself or otherwise. As such, Kira will likely focus on her own survival. If she wants to save a certain squad-mate and thinks that she can, she'll try, but otherwise she's in it for herself. She's not normally the type who would sacrifice herself for the betterment of the mission, but if she personally doesn't see her way out of an alien engagement alive, Kira will take as many ET's as she can down with her before she ultimately kicks the bucket.
Biography:Serving her country wasn't the first thing that Kira Lawson imagined herself doing. In fact, she was a problem child and somewhat of a delinquent in her youth. Kira grew up in Dunedin, New Zealand, where she was the youngest of 6 siblings. Much of those siblings were older brothers, who'd later grow up to have very successful careers. Her one older sister,
the eldest of the family, moved up in the world as a successful entrepreneur, and had even immigrated to the United States of America in order to make a name for herself there. However, Kira herself knew no such motivation. She never strove to get good grades in high school, and she had a usual habit of skipping classes for a smoke, and feigning incompetence at some of the tasks in the classes that she did turn up to. She never got an Excellence grade in any of her NCEA subjects in high school, and never even got close to scoring Merit grades either. All she ever got were Achieved grades and Not Achieved grades, the former of which were very few and far between. Kira chose to drop out of school at 16. This angered her parents enough to kick her out of the house, and they had her shipped into a military training camp that was stationed in Central Otago. They had high hopes that said camp would finally be able to instill some sense of discipline within Kira.
Realizing that she couldn't weasel her way out the situation that she was put in, Kira simply followed the drill instructor's orders, as strict as they were on her. Eventually, Kira found something that she actually had an affinity with; and it turned out that affinity was with guns. Starting to like this training camp that her parents had shipped her off to now, Kira pushed herself with that same dreaded obstacle course that the drill instructor had always verbally abused her over her incompetence with, and her newfound prowess with it had caught the attention of a hotshot cadet by the name of Reece Baxter. At first, Kira wasn't a fan of Reece's natural cockiness, but the more of his claims he managed to back up, the more she started to warm up to him. While they never ended up married since Kira wasn't so keen on the idea, she and Reece did eventually get together and start a family. They originally to have only two children, but Kira's body had other ideas, with her giving birth to triplets on her second pregnancy, all of which were girls. Their first son was christened Cameron Lawson, and the three triplets were named Teagan Baxter, Melissa Baxter and Emily Baxter.
Unfortunately, the whole family fell apart the moment the aliens invaded New Zealand. Reece and Cameron were out on a hunting trip, and wound up being the first of the family to encounter the Thin Men. However, while they both survived the encounter, Cameron had been shot by one of the Thin Men, and paramedics had to be flown to the hospital in Christchurch before they could try and treat him. By the time Kira, Reece and the Baxter triplets could drive over there, they were informed by the staff that Cameron didn't make it. Naturally, Kira was devastated by the loss of her son, and while Reece comforted her, Teagan, Melissa and Emily split up and went their different ways. And then the aliens set their sights on Christchurch. Realizing that their daughters were missing, Reece and Kira armed themselves with a couple of AK47s that the former had stashed in the back of the SUV they drove there with, and split up to search for them. Kira managed to spot a strange device that managed to land right in the center of the cathedral grounds, but as she drew near it, it activated, and a familiar scream could be heard in the distance. Kira rushed towards Emily the second she found her, held onto her for dear life, and tried to pull her out of range of the strange device, but no amount of brute force would get Emily any further away from that thing, which eventually overpowered the grip that she and Kira had on each other and abducted the poor girl. Enraged, Kira went on a killing spree from then on, gunning down every Thin Man that got in her way. However, Reece wasn't lucky enough to escape death this time, as he and the other two daughters were surrounded by the Thin Men and slain where they stood. It wasn't
all bad news. When Kira got home, she got an email whose sender she didn't recognize in the slightest. Its contents were mostly written in Japanese kanji, which Kira could only read enough of to confirm that this was in fact written in Japanese, but one word stood out: XCOM. Curious as to what this "XCOM" wanted from her, Kira bought herself the next flight to Tokyo, and packed everything she could fit in two suitcases.

Tidbits of Trivia:- When she's not on a mission killing ET's, Kira is usually out paying her respects to the XCOM squad members that who died trying to protect humanity, smoking a cigarette all the while. If she does feel the need to smoke, Kira will separate herself from any non-smokers, and if it's windy outside, she'll position herself so that the wind doesn't blow smoke in anyone's face. Kira has always been a smoker ever since near the end of intermediate school, but before the point in her life in which she lost her fiance and her children, she would never consider herself an excessive smoker. Now, however, a full packet of cigarettes isn't enough to sustain Kira for even a single day.
- As far as future relationships go, Kira doesn't mind who would ultimately serve as her partner in terms of gender... just so long as they don't look to be over 25 at first glance. Considering that she herself is 34, this would effectively make Kira a cougar, but she has her reasons for being specific with her age range. Most notably, she'd appreciate a bubbly personality to counteract her natural pessimism.
- Kira has been trained in quite the arsenal of mid- to long-range weaponry, but has always found that the heavier the gun that she wielded was, the more comfortable she felt firing it. Her effectiveness in using a light machine gun lends her well for the Gunner position, but she tends to wear her armor slightly looser than recommended. This is most likely since otherwise the thick armor would dig into Kira's breasts due to their sheer size, and this has given her great discomfort in the past.
