Wendy was finally in Trinity City; well at least outside the city working on the shoot of a Series called Wanderers of the Wasteland her part a guest star as Jani the Hunter a former military officer of the light assault commando riders known as the Reapers.

The Eufiber riding suit they designed and she provided was to say the least revealing, they even insisted she leave the closure down so her breasts threatened to fall out with every sudden move. The motorcycle she rode was a modification of a Thunder God Smoker (Smoker - Slang for Fossil Fuel) which was of her own modification as well. It was an attempt at breaking into Video Streaming as an actress slash Stunt Woman slash Special Effects Tech.

She sat astride her bike her helmet in her lap waiting as Rondo Steel the Gamma Star of the series shot a scene with a group of kids that had been dressed in shabby clothes and had make-up applied to make them appear dirty and a little starved. She watched as Rondo Acted all noble and concerned for the waifs and how emotionally scared they were from being treated so shabbily as Basie slaves to the Red mountain gang his character Lance Bravestar’s mortal enemies. Her part had an equally odd part to play in this series as a cold hearted killer trained by the military before the Apocalypse War had turned the Earthe into a Wasteland.

Her screen name was Raven Sinister and she was as much a victim of of the war as anyone else and she was supposed to be saved by Lance’s charm and concern; they insisted on a love scene. She thought it was Rondo’s suggestion because as soon as she showed up he’d been trying to charm his way into her pants but she wasn’t interested; she didn’t want to be connected as one of his many conquests in the steams.

Because it was one of the top adventure streams a crowd had come to watch from stands that had been set aside for them which meant their was the presence brought Basepopo and Nabs to keep an eye out for trouble. Normally the Law Enforcement presence wouldn’t have been so high but their had been two attempts on Rondo’s life in the past 4 months which a local investigator said appeared to be a jilted woman; go figure.

Hell Hath No Fury

"Use me and call me crazy then dump me; he shouldn’t have done that ..no, no, no, no, no" mumbled a woman as she watched through binoculars

In her left hand she held a small electronic box which she kept fingering nervously that’s when she noticed the bored blonde skank on the bike and focused on her for a moment.
"So, so she’s his new bitch the little tramp. Look at her tits just hanging out and what kind of callsign is Perfection? Stuckup …….." (mumbles edited for adult content)

As disturbed as the woman was she was also had the former profession as a bounty hunter who hunted Gamma villains for money; she’d tried to break into acting and he’d crushed that dream telling the producers she was crazy. She knew she had to be careful because this was Trinity City and the Nabs here were the best in the world but she was the best at what she did; it was her that took down the Despot Gamma El Blanco and collected the bounty that so many had died trying to collect.

Like Blanco Rondo had forced her to use explosives because getting close to him was dam difficult and her aim at extreme ranges with the weapons she could get; she’d give her first born to get a genius rifle. She could have used more explosives and just nuked the whole site but the Nabs would have hunted her down with every resource the UN could muster; she also didn’t like the idea of killing kids because that could mean for sure a perma (actual life sentence). That was why she had packed the motorcycle Rondo was supposed to ride across the dry lake bed with the skank in the next scene and the bonus was that she could take out his new whore.

"Why is it taking so long?" she growled quietly from her Wonder Works sniper blind which she’d liberated about 3 years ago from a military installation after seducing a guard

Film shoots were never things that Alexander were exactly very okay with being around, especially stunts which have a slight chance of going horrifically wrong. All in the name of entertainment of course.

However, on this occasion, Alexander was there do something that was rather important, such as save a famous womanizer from another assassination attempt should that attempt happen on that day. Of course, Alexander was very good at what he did, having earned a PhD in less time than it takes to get a standard Bachelor’s degree for someone of his age, which no matter how you look at it would have been four years. He worked long into the nights of his youth, able to work for long periods of time with little rest, one of his perks of being a Gamma. It had been a blessing of enhancing his brain in the manner that it did, likely adding complexity to the structure that operate the body, without an increase in overall size. Of course the downside to this was that his mind was almost always in motion, whether it be about actually be about medicine or biology was up for debate as not even he properly knew.

Yet, there the man stood, blankly staring at the set, having reminded the crew once more to stay hydrated due to the desert heat that would follow them from the comforts of the city. Best part was that Alexander looked nothing like a doctor, with long baggy clothing on to help keep himself cool in the desert heat, always gotta be prepared. His sky blue orbs danced from the children to the cameras, and so on and so forth before his eyes landed on the very man that he was here to act as an emergency doctor for. Alexander had never been a fan Rondo, and he never would be, namely do to his womanizing nature. Plus stars of any kind tend to have a problem controlling their ego.

Gripes aside, Alexander would begrudgingly do his job and he let out a sigh knowing that he would have to live with Rando’s ego go on even further if he survived yet another attempt on his life. Then his eyes landed on someone that he legitimately did not know of, simply because he never kept up with media unless it was scientific or medical based, though sometimes he would watch a good medical show just to get a good laugh out it. However, he soon caught himself staring at her and frantically averted his gaze from the blonde beauty to focus on organizing his emergency medical kit, just in case something goes awry.

Readiness was always a good thing, especially when it came to emergency medical procedures. It was primarily bandages and stitches, with some simple painkillers, and other sterile equipment needed for such a procedure. Always ready to act. Always ready to help.

All in the name of entertainment, of course.

Deon Walker, leaned against the driver's door of the white Ford SUV, bearing the markings of the Trinity City Police in black, and reflective silver. Shaking the little container of ranch dressing, with added parm for the salad waiting on the hood in clear tupperware. Six feet tall, and athletically fit, and comfortable in his blues as any five-year veteran of the force should be. His skin was a deep mocha, and when he smiled and nodded to passing PAs, actors, or extras, his teeth were a brilliant white. The man beside him was a little shorter, at 5'10", his skin a deep tan that would have blended in well with the sand and desiccated vegetation in the desert. His blues were quite new, perhaps a half-shade brighter than his partner's. Brown eyes scanned the people around him, figuring out their patterns, habits, looking for anything distinguishable as out of place, yet in a relaxed manner, while he ate instant ramen from a cup with a fork.

"Going to have to get used to it Tyke," Deon continued the conversation the pair had going earlier, while they ate and watched, "The Press loves naming you guys. Seems like every Gammer has some flashy-ass name they go by. Most of the time, seems like the first name run in print, is the one that sticks. Sometimes, the Gammer gets the press to change it, usually if their own idea for a name is considered more..." He paused, opening the container for the ranch and pouring it on his salad, "Fuck, what's that word. Provocative? Evocative? Close'nuff. You get it though. If the Editor thinks it sounds better, or will generate more clicks, that's what they run. 'Turtle' is far from the worse, though I do wonder how that got leaked out of the department. I mean, shit," Picking up the container, he began folding leaves of baby spinach, and kale through the puddles of ranch, mixing it with the sliced cherry tomatoes, raisins, radishes, and sunflower seeds. "You could have ended up as sparky, sparkles, or something worse!"

Smirking a little as he chewed, Tyko nodded, remembering the event that occurred just last week; it had been a quiet day before some some asshat Gamma started making a fuss. The nabs were called in, and were forced to chase the young punk down, but as often happens, collateral damage occurred. One wing of a low-rise apartment block, just four stories was hit by some massive attack unleashed by the rogue Gamma. Just three blocks away, Deon and Tyko were the first on scene. Before Deon could react, Tyko was out of the car and bolting towards the rubble, his skin and uniform swirling with the green-electric like energy that came out whenever Tyko activated his own power. Almost immediately, the rookie Officer was lifting slabs of concrete, hundreds of pounds or thousands, and shifting them out of the way, as he dug through the rubble, following the screams of the buried survivors.

In the aftermath, he rescued three people, before the rescue services arrived, two more he assisted with who were unconscious, and helped to recover two bodies. In the debriefing, he was both chided, and praised for his work. Officer Jeffries was the one who likened watching Tyko dig through the rubble to that of a Gopher Turtle of her home state of Florida. While Tyko avoided having to talk with the press directly, he still found the attention awkward, and uncomfortable.

"Should have joined the Nab's man." Tyko looked up and over at his superior as the man started that again, "Look, I'm just saying, with your powers, you could do a lot of good with the Nabs! Think of the pay!"

Tyko sighed, shaking his head slightly, "Already told you, I'd rather be here, being a first responder, than to be forced to wait until I am called for." Stabbing his fork into the noodles, he lifted it out, let some fall, and began to twist, "How long would it have taken for Search and Rescue to get those people out? That crew did not have any Gamma with them." The clump of noodles slid off his fork in his distraction, causing him to let out a slight snort of exasperation, "As well, it was you who told me that, 'An Officer who desires money, is no Officer at all,' right?"

Deon let out a quick burst of laughter, "Got me there Tyke, got me there!" He pooped half of a cherry tomato into his mouth, before gesturing with his fork to the woman on the motorcycle, waiting for something. "How about her?"

His eyes shifted over the blonde in red, and nodded, "Alright."

Stopping with his fork half way to his mouth, Deon looked aghast at his trainee, "Alright?! Just alright?"

Shrugging casually, as he started another wind of noodles, "Pretty on the outside, yes. What is she like though? Besides, I don't ha-"

Cutting Tyko off, "Don't have time, yeah, I know. Most people I would say, 'Make Time!' But you're already burnin' 24 hours for a day, for a week solid. Tracy worries'bout you man, and I gotta agree, workin' like that, Gamma or no, ain't healthy. What would be healthy for you..." Deon inclined his head towards the woman again, some sixty feet distant.

He rolled his eyes, but a small smile escaped; it was nice to know people cared. He looked back to the woman on the bike once more, before moving his eyes away, watching the rest of the people, some moving like hurried chickens, others just strolling in the sun.

Among the staff working the shoot was a mousy brunette, holding a clipboard to her chest. She attempted to look patient and attentive. Inside she roiled with anger and frustration; The target and primary cause of these feelings was the focus of her attention. Rondo delivered his lines to a group of children.

She could have done better. She knew it, her superiors knew it, hell even Rondo knew it. And yet he had to protect his ego, and her supervisors just couldn't say no to the biggest vid star around. To make matters worse Mr. Steel was acting uncharacteristically macho; The idiot refused to let anyone else do anything to his bike. Of course the little production assistant knew the root cause for this behavior, and her eyes moved to the blonde on the bike.

Why did she have to be on this set at this time. Without Miss Weathers presence Rondo would have been huddled in the safe house, and Dorian would be center stage and winning the actor an award. Instead the son of a bitch claimed his audience needed him, and the show must go on; No matter how many attempts there have been.

Rather then give Dorian the permission to incapacitate the actor and replace him. They gave different orders. So Mr. Steel’s production assistant got an indefinite paid vacation, and Dorian took her place. Her orders were to stay close enough to Warp the idiot to the safety, if possible. Dorian made it clear to her supervisors that she would do her best however she wouldn't be responsible if the actor didn't survive.

The mousy lil brunette sighed and drummed her fingers on the clipboard. Her thoughts were buried with how asinine this entire situation was.

Wendy listened as Rondo in his character Lance Bravestar told the nomad children that they too one day could become a protector like he was even if they never developed powers because the legendary riders of the wasteland had a place for anyone with a brave heart.

He pulled from his roadrasher suit several nutrient sticks in flavors like chocolate, strawberry, blueberry, and kiwi flashing his big smile so that the reflection of sunlight off them was a bit dazzling. Then he tousled a couple of heads and ran to his bike called the Night Fury saying ”Come Raven lets ride people need saving and daylight is a burning” using his gamma gift of the voice to send a chill of excitement through her and the audience here and at home.

Wendy hated that gift and had almost fallen into its trap and accepted his offer two nights ago to go over lines in his trailer but he’d blow it with his facial expression looking like some sex crazed boy at prom. Still though she had to remember his talent and brace herself against it or become another notch in his bedpost a fate that helped revolt her back into reality.

”I’ll do my best Commander Bravestar” she said managing to get out her line without having the director shout; “Cut!”

Her bike rumbled awake throbbing with over 600 brake horsepower as she threw on her helmet an tapped the kickstand up less than a second before she boiled the earth under the rear wheel making an instant dust cloud that was swept across the scene framing them in its shadow just as the director asked.

As Raven she was supposed to be weaker than Lance but her bike was another matter it was a relic of the wars which almost had its own starring spot in the script. It was a silly concept bike armed with a 5 barrel minigun on the left hand side that could spew over 1,600 brass out of it as the weapons nitrous fuel jet made a flame 4 feet long from the top muzzle. It had taken her 6 days to make the prop work the way they wanted and another to make it even more ridiculously visible when her first try was labeled weak.

Once the front wheel of the modified Thunder God touched down she checked her reaview to make sure Rondo was close enough on his Electric Night Fury to still be in the shot and was pleased he was and hadn’t dumped it like he had in rehearsals.

She eased off her throttle a little to let Rondo catch up and match pace beside her as they left twin trailing contrails of dust. Above them were about 6 camera drones focused on them and in front of them 3 more 100 meters ahead so any disturbance they might cause in the dust wouldn’t show. In the distance were three dust devils moving across frame and not under the film crew’s control.

Bad day at White Flats

In her blind the jilted woman was so intent that she failed to notice the dust devils coming her way; she wanted him close when he and that whore died in her trap.

The sniper’s blind was made to near perfect but even it couldn’t cope with the chaos caused to its holo projection by the dust devil that shook it violently exposing her presence.

Rondo noticed the distortion and his paranoia kicked in before the crazy woman was revealed about 300 meters away and reacted by leaning on his bike hard trying to turn away. More muscle than dex his attempt at radical maneuvering dropped the bike at around 265 kph (165 mph). Its right foot peg dug in briefly flipping the machine and flinging Rondo like a rag doll about 40 meters into the air his former ride missing Wendy by Inches before it detonated around 9 meters in front of her.

She was saved by the fact that her bike was made with a shell wind fairing that was bulletproof because it was as easy as making it look like a military bike with fake armor but the explosion made it impossible for her to keep her machine upright.

Unlike Rondo she dropped on the fine powder that made up the dry lake bed thankful it was free of rocks and debris as she slid maybe 200 meters laying as flat as she could her Roadrasher suit protecting her as designed.

Time to react boys and girls, the crash site is half a kilometer away
Rondo is hurt but he is a Gamma so it’s not lethal but someone will need to confirm that
Wendy is hurt as well but she fell properly
The Crazy woman is taking off, she’s a flyer her top speed 200 kph
Good luck

The mousy production assistant turned watching the bikes as they sped off. While the rest of the crew started to relax Dorian tensed. In the distance the horizon shimmered, and Dorian swore. The clipboard hit the ground and her hands rose; She quickly made a tearing motion. Her eyes followed the arc of Rondo’s flight and placed one end of the warp where he would hit the ground.

The second ragged edged square was placed near the ambulance she was striding towards. She stopped next to where the actor rolled to. “Idiot.” She said loudly before stepping over the man and through the warp into the salt flats. Her mousy brown eyes watching the streak away from the site. “Dammit all to hell.” She muttered, turning her options over in her head.

Alexander couldn’t help but smirk at the other Alex’s statement, though not outwardly responding except looking back when she ran to the use the bathroom. He simply shook his head, that was what happened when you drank too much water.

Then, everything went wrong in a matter of seconds, Rondo fell off his bike and then an explosion. The machinery had gone haywire, at least that is what he believed in his ever moving mind, and caused the guest star to also flip off the bike but in a less spectacular fashion from what he could see. With that, the doctor immediately scrambled to the ambulance and hopped on the back, holding in for dear life as the driver in side sped towards the accident. From there, he was he saw a figure flying away, he couldn’t give chase since a life may be on the line and so he hoped another entity would be able to hunt down the fleeing one.

However, one of the others had warped the seemingly dying man near them and so he signaled for the ambulance to stop so they could tend to the one they were payed to help.

The man was a mess of sobbing with many broken bones; both legs and an arm with the bone sticking out, and some ribs if the doctor could guess. However, the scalped head was surely not a good thing, Alexander peered down and saw a bit of skull through the mess of blood and hair. Though, it was more annoying that Rondo would simply not stop making the noise of a dying man, like the drama expert he was.

With a sigh, he looked back at the others, “We’ll get the girl!,” he ordered as his attention went back down to the man that was above him. Alexander got to work by snapping the bones back into their general space, being careful not to do to much damage with his strength. Unfortunately, this made the star get an even fuss going, earning the rough response, “Oh shut up, you idiot. This is probably your fault anyways.” Soon enough the doctor began lightly healing Rondo using his Gamma Powers, it was a draining process, but it got Rondo in a stable enough position for Alexander to allow someone else to take over.

He rushed over to the other woman with the ambulance and crouched down next to the other paramedics, “Status,” he asked, making sure that he understood.

“No visible injury, I’m guessing that she has one of those fancy protection suits on, she’s just unconscious,” one of the reported.

Alexander nodded and laid his hand upon the woman, making sure to avoid any suggestive areas and instead focus on the bare collarbone. Soon enough he began to expend more of his energy to make sure that the woman would be in a stable position and hopefully wake up. The perks of being a Gamma.

Satisfied that nothing seemed amiss for the moment, Tyko settled his gaze upon the action of the film stars, getting a mouthful of noodles in as the bikes started off. Looking into the distance, he noted the dust devils would probably really enhance the wasteland appeal of this scene in the film.

Something was off.

He focused, something was drawing his attention to a point of the desert hillside. It flickered.

"Perkele!" An old curse from his homeland uttered softly as he grabbed his partner's should, and turned him, pointing at the flickering spot in the desert. Then the rider's reacted. Rondo swerved, then pitched over into the sky as if he was catapulted. The flipping throw the air bouncing once, narrowly missing Wendy, before the sudden, sharp flash, and smoke of the bike detonating. That sent Wendy down off her bike, and moments later, the hard THUD of the high explosive struck the rest of the set, the shockwave rolling over everyone.

"Mother fucker, you gotta be kidd-" Deon was cut of by the sudden shrill shriek of a near-by PA, before she paused, eyes rolling up and she collapsed on the spot; clipboard and papers landing in the dust, and half a sandwich, in its plastic container bounced, split open, and stopped. Deon reached up and pulled his mic to his mouth as he twisted his head to it, tossing the salad container to the hood of the cruiser. "We have a 10-80, White Flats movie set. Be advised, 10-80, White Flats movie set!" Giving a quick initial alert to Dispatch that there was an explosion, and where he was located. "Request backup, bomb squad, EMS. One suspect is taking off South.....South West of the set. Suspect is flying. Repeat, suspect is flying."

Deon turned to Tyko and leaned in, forgetting that Tyko could hear him, even through the screaming, and horrified reactions of the civilians that surrounded them, "Go, secure the scene." He gestured to where the blind was, and recently vacated. Deon then turned, drew his firearm, and started walking over to the Ambulance, shouting into his radio again, "Wilkes! Percival! Crowd control! Sending Vaara out to secure the scene! I'm on Rondo! Be careful, all prior attempts were single suspect, but they may have hired help this time. Get everyone to the fire meetup locations." He look at Vaara quizzically as Tyko was following him, until Tyko pointed to the warp in the ground next to the Ambulance.

Through the warp, Tyko popped out onto the dry lake bed floor, duty pistol in hand, and his skin, and uniform, seeming to have taken on a living pattern of slow streaks of green energy slowly swirling through his skin, and the fibers of his clothing. His first order of business was to sprint over to where Wendy lay, dust still falling, and the sharp, acrid scent of the exhaust from her thunderous bike lingering still in the air, mixed in with whatever high explosive was used. Kneeling down, he looked her over, saw no obvious wounds, and that she was conscious. "Please remain still," looking over his shoulder, he saw the ambulance begin to hustle this way, "I am Officer Vaara, you were just involved in an explosion, and the ambulance is on its way. Please do not move, in case you have spinal or cranial injuries. I need to make sure there are no other explosive devices in the area." Satisfied that she was not in any imminent danger, he would leave her for someone more qualified than himself. He looked for the blind, and hurried off in a small cloud of dust. He may not be exceptionally fast, but Tyko could best any Olympic sprinter, and had more than enough stamina to make it to the hide, without even winding himself.

As he approached, he slowed, watching for any lingering traps, and being careful not to touch or disturb anything. He was no detective, and he sure as hell was no analyst. He did however, report to Deon, "Suspect left in a hurry, left evidence. Scene secure."

The Beginning of Pain

Wendy lifted her arms like a backwards skydive position feet together slightly raised and it took every ounce of concentration to hardening the part of her that was under kinetic and friction assault but the initial landing had done a number on her backside.

”Damn I gotta pay out to a healer” she thought briefly blowing her focus so her shell cracked in the last 45 meters adding the cherry on top for her pain.

Understanding Pain

She’d come to a stop only seconds when a Gate opened and out poured the calvary as Mr. Ego squealed like a babe newly separated from mommy’s teat.

It wasn’t just the damage taken in the aftermath but the explosion she’d taken to the face that was the worst, she taken a powerful kinetic energy pulse through the body when the only thing hard shelled on her had been her helmet; it saved her hearing but not her vision nor inner ear.

Pain replaced by Amusment

She felt a lovely tingle pass though her body and recognized it as the energy of a healer so she opened her eyes surfacing from her meditation to control the pain because a very interesting young man with a beard and an expression that told her she had stirred his reality.

It was nice and all to be admired by men who liked women but it meant more work for her to break through simple visual perceptions; bimbo, blondie, cutey, sugar, honey, and a litany of expression both flattering and foul she’d heard them all. It was why when they asked her the other day what she wanted as a call sign she’d fallen for an old and tradition trap for being a smart ass ; they recorded the next thing you said.

”Perfection seems to be a name you like…

PERFECTION The leach who’d been her guide though registration said with a chuckle adding Time to own it babe and here's my address both actual and net if you ever need anything

She’d asked him to change it and he’d laughed and said she had to wear it 3 years by law and then she could present a petition of redress; a week and a half ago she'd confirmed it by calling her dad who was likely still laughing even though she blamed him for not warning or teaching her about the law of first name.

Back to the Present

Wendy grabbed the Healer’s arm at the biceps pulling her body into a sitting position

”If you’ll just give me a little more of that sweet power of yours my body can heal on its own by evening” she purred just before kissing his cheek so he’d give her what she though would increase her recovery in his hesitation.

”I own ya at least dinner for the boost for my healing rate
My names Wendy Weathers if ya didn’t already know”

She knew she was being a bit flirty but healing energies always well gave her a real charge; maybe why she was sensitive to it was she was sensitive to sensing the world around her on a level others didn’t notice.

She swung her legs off whatever she was own and told them she was recovering and as a demonstration altered her Eufiber to resemble comfortable jeans tucked in simple calf high soft fabric tabi boots a deep burgundy in color. Her torso was now shrouded by a loose fitting black silk jacket with gold piping and on the back a large Flaming Skull that shimmered under its own light appearing animated which it is (Micro Fiber Optic thread, she uses it as a way to constantly push her control skill). Underneath the open jacker is a T-shirt for a popular band named Silicon Dragons a band know for the fact they are all Gamma and a Female. All this was accomplished in less than 3 seconds her suit seeming to briefly turn into a kaleidoscope of shimmering liquid metallic colors before settling.

Now to the Meat

”I’d luv ta know where the chief officer or investigator or rooky yall need me to chat wit; I ain’t picky just wanna go get a soak and spa message skip the happy ending” says Wendy as she starts stretching as if she were preping for an event.

GM stuff

We have two actual cops here and I can see in the interest of cooperation they might share the conversation allowing whoever asks first to take the lead and the second interview be additions and clarifications

The Ego baby will be carted off in one of the shoot mega drones to the nearest healing center but only after the two healers clean him as stable for transport

After this phase we can assume someone asked for the directs and Dorian as the closest member of the Net Watch Can put his stamp of authenticity on it (Think a sort of evidence seal where they commit it to memory and if it is brought in question it can be verified by the Mind Dancers)

Information

Once info is fed into the net you get a hit

Margaret Fletcher aka Midge an assassin trained by the Hidden Society a group of Gamma who recruit emerging Gamma to their profession (The Dues support a network of posted Gamma and Baseline servants along with safehouses and secured transport systems)

Rumor has it they kicked her out for stability problems even though she was a good operative but never throwing out the useful idiot the pay her as a contractor from time to time

The mousy brunette sighed and turned away as she lost sight of the attacker. Her ears picked up the attempted wit from the girl. Dorian had. Een close enough to the actor to get a look at him. While the scalp wound was bloody, his skull appeared to be intact; Unfortunately that means he would most likely retain most of his brain cells damaged as they already were. The lack of pink foam at the corners of his mouth told her that any broken ribs missed the lungs this and the short period of time that the healer spent with each told her none of the injuries were life threatening.

The “production assistant” made a shushing motion to the girl. “Quiet,” She said, her voice was sweet and warm yet there was a sound to it that indicates she needed approval. “The grown ups are working.”

With that she turned to the doctor and witness. As she turned a series of snaps and cracks as if someone threw a whole chicken into a meat grinder. Where the mousy little brunette was, now stood a statuesque blonde in a power suit. Her voice, like her eyes had lost the warmth and softness; It took on a firm yet sultry. “Doctor, in your opinion is what the press saw enough to claim the actor is comatose?”

Her mind already began plotting out a bait and switch, should she manage to convince her superiors. Better yet she should convince Mr. Steel and let him convince her superiors. Her eyes flickered to Ms. Weathers as she considered the need for more bait. Would the actress agree to it? Acting without a camera was -

She turned suddenly back towards the tear. Were they that good? She questioned internally. She considered the clips she had seen. “Of course!” She stated aloud, she was frustrated she didn't think of it sooner; This was after all one of the top adventure stories.

There was a moment of relief when the woman had grasped his arm to pull herself up, knowing that she was fine and would live to act another day. However, something that held in total surprise was the flirtatious kiss upon his cheek, causing him to freeze for just a few moments to process the action. Then, he simply shook his head clear of any thought or temptation that the woman would have presented, knowing that it was just a reaction of chemicals going off in the brain that was typically released in the healing process. Alexander returned to his full height and walked away for a moment to look over the actor once more.

“He’s good, just a crybaby,” Alexander said to the others, forgetting what it was like to actually be hurt given his powers consistently preventing harm upon himself. The doctor sighed and walked back to the ambulance to get some proper medical supplies so that he may perform a full physical on both the people in the accident before he officially gave them a clear, what kind of doctor would simply tell them they were fine. Alexander gathered some basic equipment and jogged back over to the woman, who was well walking and talking now but it may be better just to do her first so that he could move onto someone who would be far more difficult.

“Hold on little lady, you just got out of an accident. No strenuous movement until I give you the clear,” the doctor said in a commanding tone, stepping in front of her and quickly. He opened up one of her eyes, holding up an ophthalmoscope to look at her pupil reactions. It was a simple process but it was a necessary one that he needed to do as a profession doctor. When he found nothing out of the ordinary, he moved on to have her open her mouth, using the small wooden stick to force her tongue down a little so he may see the back of her mouth. After finding nothing out of the ordinary, he stepped back asking, “Do you feel dizzy, confused, or are you seeing things in any blurry fashion?”

It was the standard concussion questions.

A crazy woman and my Life

Wendy looked at Dorian then at Tyko before returning to Alexander as he said the most annoying thing

“Hold on little lady, you just got out of an accident. No strenuous movement until I give you the clear” in a tone that was sure to draw her less cooperative sideout.

She allowed him to go through all the motions trying to tell herself it was because of how she looked that he was so hyper concerned with her health; men had the habit Base or Gamma to think she needed their protection.

He went through all the doctor motions even going so far as to ask her the typical questions less durable beings needed to be asked and she waited till that moment when he asked.

“Do you feel dizzy, confused, or are you seeing things in any blurry fashion?”

She fixed him with one of her brightest smiles saying

”I am Perfection in sign and being, a Gamma and have experienced harder treatment in my training under my parents; well mostly Dad but he’s that way with everyone.

I know you are forced by your profession to go through certain procedures as a matter of course and caution but your sweet healing power gave me the boost I needed to recover lots faster than my average; Oh and don’t ever call me little lady again unless we are in a western and we are in a scene that calls for it”

She giggles then brushes off any help as she walks over to her bike and repairs it as a way of demonstrating she has all her faculties. It roars to life at her command and waits her like a loyal horse its fuel driven engine pulsing with power.

The Beginning of Friendship?

”We should head back to the trailers and see if they have processed the film, maybe we’ll be able to put a name on the Nut case that did this.

After which I’d love to treat you all to lunch at the Sundeck where we can talk about this.”
said Wendy with a friendly glance to everyone.

Then she climbs on the Thunder God Mod and adds

”I’m quite sure that yall want to talk to me about everything I may or may not know about what is going on and if I have to answer any questions I’d like to do it over a meal ”

She then kicks off and without stirring up dust heads back to where the Film crew waits under an air conditioned circus tent.

GM stuff

Once everyone arrives at the tent Wendy will alter 5 large computer pads into a high tech Holo projector which she sets up on a table to display the various views taken from the nearly 25 camera that were filming the disaster.

Oh and the tent is the Sundeck she was talking about not the swanky rooftop restaurant in Trinity City they have been catering the film company

Please feel free to pepper me with questions, make suggestions or whatever comes to mind RP wise in the Discord

Katherine remained still, barely breathing in the field, she watched quietly as a four legged dog-like beast ran through the desert. It looked like it was having a blast, being free, no compromise, no restraints. She smiled as she whispered to the beast to guide the rest of it's pack towards the pair of actors on the motorbikes.

She was hired for her ability to "sculpt" beasts for various movies, mostly sci-fi, fantasy and occasionally nature films where they wanted the feel of a "real live" extinct animal without the budget for CG. Occasionally, they liked having her creatures roaming about to give the actors a better reaction when the beasts were actually real to them.

The studio assumed some form of animatronics she produced in her studio, then brought to set. In reality, Muse summoned them from pure quantum and some paint. Instead of the need for expensive radios, her voice possessed a simple hypnotic rhythm that focused her creatures. She hummed a simple tune, almost bouncing her melody to time with the pack and it's race through the desert. While in the desert, Katherine wore a light tank top, and a pair of cutoff jean shorts with a simple vest with implements to create her creatures and potentially touch them up if they need it.

Then the explosion...

When the explosion hit, several of her beasts reacted to the fire and debris like wild animals should. They fled and scattered like leaves in a whirlwind. Katherine on the other hand froze solid, she didn't have her coat, or her stencils! She stared wide eyed as everyone else came to aid the injured actor and the Wendy went down...hard. Her fingers instinctively twitched for her duster, it was NuFabric, it was safe, it powered her...Wendy was always nice to her, to them "We need to focus.." She whispered to herself, it was her mantra. It was what helped make her perceive the world as Muse instead of ...her train of thought derailed itself again as she realized Wendy was hurt!

Wait, was that a person flying away? A Gamma did this?

Her attention was drawn back as one of her beasts crashed into her leg, sending her tumbling into the sand. She scrambled back to her truck reflexively. Katherine was just a wrangler who made animals for films, her other half, Muse was the one who fought. Getting back to her feet, the young woman scrambled for her truck. Pulling the door open, she shucked off the flimsy vest containing markers and pens for her Quantum constructs. She drew forth a knee length beat up brown duster. Drawing the coat around herself, Katherine felt her heart rate slowing down. She grabbed a canvas messenger bag laden with spraypaint and stencils. Katherine let out one last calming breath, and Muse drew in the next. She looked about the desert, and noted her beasts still running about. She gave a shrill whistle, the command to release. The beasts looked towards Muse before vanishing in a cloud of multicolored dyes. Drawing the heavy hood around her dark red hair, she looked towards the Gammas who were busy assessing the scene. Walking towards the gathering, she kept to the outskirts and listened. There were honest to goodness heroes in here, she just summoned heroes to fight. Wendy...Perfection seemed to be okay thanks to a healer. She let out a small breath of relief. Gamma's like Perfection could take a beating, and natural healing picked up the check. Muse wasn't nearly as lucky, thankfully she had her own ways to deal with a threat.

"Sundeck to learn more..."

Muse looked towards the others and reflexively palmed her messenger bag. She could hear Lorelei's voice echoing through her mind, wishing to be called forth.

"Not yet," she whispered softly.

The voice sharpened a little more, the sound almost grated against her mind. Lorelei paced within the recesses of her psyche, like a panther waiting for her next challenge.

She carefully adjusted the scarf around her lower face, as she looked to the other Gammas. The voice was thankfully just inside her mind.

For now.

Tyko Vaara

It would be nice a peaceful out here, if Wendy wasn't down on the ground roughly ninety or a hundred meters into the lakebed. He could hear the voices, if muffled with distance, before turning to face the distance while holstering his sidearm. Through the shimmering waves of heat, he looked to the distant mountains, and gave a little sigh. Slowly he turned back to the disturbed crime scene and pulled out his phone. Punched in his access code (he preferred not to use biometrics for security), before opening the camera application. Quickly, he looked around the scene of where the suspect had hid, noting the location of the somewhat scattered trash, where the suspects footprints were, all of it, before he started recording. He moved around the scene in a somewhat wide circle, wide enough to keep him out of the evidence, and made sure to not disturb any footprints or evidence, lest he spoil the scene. He had yet to get on Lewis' bad side, and intended to keep it that way. Most of what was left, that he could see were just the wrappers of quick to eat energy bars, and some rolled up bags, that he suspected held something rather foul. It looked as though the hide had been in use for a couple days, and while he dared not get too close, he could barely detect any smells.

Finishing his recording, he paused as he noticed the time. He quickly called up a contact labelled Kiite, and called it. Straight to voicemail, he left a message spoken in Finnish, "Hey bro, probably will be late tonight. There was an event. Can not elaborate. Dinner is prepared, and in the fridge. I am sorry." Kiite was his younger brother, 17 and still in highschool. Tucking his phone away, Tyko looked up at the crackle of the radio, "Tyko, Nabs are sending someone to relieve you, come back in and help me interview. Start with Wendy Weathers. Remember, she is still considered a suspect." There was a hint of joviality to Deon Walker's voice as he reminded Tyko of Ms. Weather's official status in the eyes of the PD. Sighing and shaking his head, he looked up as one of the Nab's detectives came down from the air. She was dressed casually in an elegant suit that seemed to accentuate every curve of her body, dark brown hair reached to just her shoulders. There was the obvious something extra to her. He greeted her, and gave her his statement for what he did, she made sure to pointedly ask him if he disturbed any of the evidence. Upon showing her his perimeter circle that gave a two meter berth around any piece of evidence, she cleared him of responsibility for the scene.

Tyko, jogged back to the growing population surrounding Wendy, he looked to the woman who addressed him, and responded, "Sorry. Cannot fly, otherwise I would have been in pursuit." At her mention of no one living, he looked through the warp hole, and shrugged, "I doubt that. Rondo is tougher than he looks, however I do not envy the pain he was in." He had of course, seen Rondo's condition before the other Alex had given him any healing, an external fracture was nothing to joke about, Gamma or not.

Nodding to Wendy, at the mention of the video and lunch, it would be a good way to keep this group together, "Alright, I am Officer Vaara, before, and likely after, I am going to need to get individual statements from each of you. What you saw, felt, heard, any details you can recall, no matter how small."

On the way back to the cluster of tents and trailers, he radioed back to Walker, "This is Tyko. I have Wendy Weathers, the two EMS who were first on scene, Rondo's PA, and one of the special effects crew."

"Good," came the voice of Deon, "Sounds like a picnic. Meanwhile Wilkes, Percival, and I have....shit, what is it? 60? 70 cast and crew to run through? Take your time though. If I ain't mistaken, most of those with you are Gamma, and probably noticed more than the rest of the cast and crew put together. Remember the details, and numbers. Specifically Wend-" Tyko cut his superior off with a press of the mic button. He appreciated the concern for his lack of a social life, but it also rode on his nerves.

Someone with especially keen hearing might hear the bark of laughter from Deon in the distance.

Friction

Cypress knew that Trinity City was one of the most Gamma populated places on Earthe but the money was too good to pass up so here she was working for the Mindo Brothers a Gamma Gang that starred the two Mindo brothers Frank who went by Acid and his twin Larry aka. Ghoster. They had two tanks who went by Mandy and Bart one was maybe 95 IQ and the other 70 and followed by a Speedster named Willy aka. Booster whose talent was the get-a-away because he could impart his hyperspeed to whatever vehicle he drove.

She normally didn’t take jobs in the states because of the rabid NABs that made life hard for her but the bros had paid her a meg up front, promised two on completion and even agreed to a quarter each for any Gamma she might need to take down.

Born Cypress hecate Mara Friction had tried to be a good girl and even joined up with interpol in Germany but an overly handsy creep of a unit commander had pissed her off so bad she’d stopped his heart accidentally because she hadn’t yeat Mastered the Friction Force that she controlled. The worst thing was that the bastard had survived and the courts had let him off with counseling and she’d got 3 years in the Bastille a high tech lockup for her kind.

Like other young Gamma she’d been offered a chance to return to civic duty under probation but she was too pissed at her unjust loss of three years of her life. She’d jumped watch even managing to find an eraser in some little backwater of Asia who for a price had muddled her tracks against the Tracers back in Europe and she’d never looked back.

______

The two brothers had done their parts with the lockup but were blocked by the WW Vault and door. They had already tripped an alarm and the countdown was at 2:18 minutes before the T-city NABs busted in; it was her turn.

Friction walked up to the better than 40 ton door and was examining the frictional forces before exerting herself when one of the Muscle heads spoke saying “Don’t know why we need Blondie, I could smash the vault open in 3 hits tops”

Turning on the idiot she smiled ”This is a WW 4792 Transialloy door that would convert your kinetic energy to harden itself just like the bracelets the NABs would slap on you for being a moron”

Then before she turned her back on him the Baka tried to take a swing at her that ended in his busting his ass and dropping his partner on the short bus when she made the soles of his boots frictionless.

The Mindo’s jumped in and told the two tanks to settle down because they’d all come here for their powers and how they could help achieve their goals.

Bored and knowing the clock was ticking Cypress turned back to her work and began tapping the door lightly so it didn’t detect any kinetic energy beyond that capable by a Baseline as she watched the frictional forces go to work.

It took her all of 35 seconds to make the door fall apart as it like all things mechanical could stay together without friction while being vibrated. Inside was their prize a shipment of rare elements being held for the Starchild corp.

Meanwhile back at the Sundeck

Wendy walked into the nearly empty comasairy tent and had a seat at one of the tables where just for a giggle she made a place setting of crystal that shimmered in the indirect light along with platinum flatware.

”Please have a seat and Kat quit hovering on the periphery and have a seat and help me with emotional support” she said; the last more because she liked Kat and though her timid nature needed a bit of cultivating and she honestly didn’t like feeling so much the center of attention

While everyone had a seat she made a small hand motion which signaled the servers to begin setting the table with a buffet of all the food that was going to be wasted while the Producers and Directors went ape over how they were going to handle the days events.

Then she looked at Tyko then at Dorian saying ”So I take it you two are the leads in the investigation but judging by the way you both showed up neither of you have worked together before”

She knew instantly that she was right by their reactions then turned to the two Healers I’d love the two of you to join us in anything you’d like and because I don’t believe in coincidences; this was made to bring us together for one reason or another
