The Father & The Mother

Looking around as they approached the palace, Angeline couldn’t help but make a face of disgust at all of the pomp and extravagance surrounding them. It all seemed to her like a bloody waste of time and precious money… but then again, Exodus had more money than they knew what to do with. She twirled her sickle around one hand as she turned to Avidan. “Really looking to impress, aren’t they,” she mumbled. “Must be nice having money that isn’t better spent elsewhere.”

Avidan slowly caught up to Angeline after a ways, now walking beside her, the large man standing like a mountain. He saw the look upon her face and knew exactly what her thoughts would be. She had come to the same conclusion he had, and her words were his clarification. As they loomed closer towards the festival, strange aromas wafted towards them, making his nose slightly burn. Try as he might, Avidan was not use to this at all. His gruff voice then broke the silence between them, "Entire place reeks of privilege and greed." he paused, watching Angeline twirl her sickle a few times, "Think it would have been bad if I had brought my sword?" he finished with a slight chuckle, before returning to a scowl. He had left his weaponry upon the boat, not because he cared about making a good impression, he just didn't need it to kill someone.

“Ha!” She snorted out a short, smileless laugh. “You, carrying that thing? You would’ve scared them all back to the holes they crawled out of. No, it's probably best. Besides," she added, her eye caught on a particularly colourful banner, "if need be, I'm sure you could find something that would do just as well. One of the palace's pillars, perhaps." To that Avidan let out another chuckle.

As the neared the festival, he could hear the large crowd, all the royals and nobility. He hated these people. Avidan looked to Angeline again, "Don't do this... Fucking festival shit. You do the talking?" Avidan asked in what sounded like a question but probably came off as a command. An event such as this, was one thing Avidan had never thought he would be apart of, and he absolutely despised it. But he had a responsibility, for his people, for a future he would never see. The Mother was more then capable to be his voice, and the voice of Luthra, even without knowing his plans. She was a smart woman, and he could respect that, being Thanatos and all.

Angeline didn't respond, but gave a short nod. She expected nothing else - and she preferred this more than anything. The fewer voices in Luthra's conversation, the fewer chances for someone to say something gravely wrong. And besides, she had spoken for her kingdom more or less alone for years before Avidan took his place as Father. What was one festival? As out of her element as she felt, she was sure this would ultimately be no different than any other negotiation.

As they entered the palace courtyard, Angeline carefully hooked her arm around Avidan's, posing herself as she had seen other queens do so with their king. As much as she hated putting herself on their level, she knew that it would only help for them to look the part. She picked up a glass from the tray of a passing server; examining it carefully, she realised the drink contained blood. Pausing hardly a moment, she sipped at the drink, and wondered what other uses human blood had for the body. Perhaps there was more to Exodus's youth than just bathing in the stuff.

Then a young woman dressed in what Angeline could only assume was the highest of Exodus fashion approached them. She spoke first to Avidan, picking him out as Father, before turning to Angeline and addressing her as Mother. The woman introduced herself as the kingdom's princess, and Angeline opened her mouth to respond - but before she could the young princess was already on her way. “Why invite us if they are so afraid," Angeline mumbled.

But she wasn't as worried about it as her words might have implied; of course they were afraid of Luthra. The Thanatos worked hard to earn that reputation. But the fact that they were invited in the first place showed that the fear could be overlooked, and that relations could be mended.

Avidan looked down upon the girl who had the courage to speak to him, low and behold it was the Princess of Exodus. The girl knew who he was, very surprising, but he supposed it wasn't at all hard to guess. He heard what Angeline mumbled and shook his head in agreement, before saying, "Too pretty." and then following Angeline's lead, by grabbing another drink from a passing server. He didn't pay it much head before downing the contents. He grimaced, "Tastes like piss." He wondered if they were serving anything stronger, but then he shook his head. These people didn't know alcohol like Luthrans did.

Aziza

The bed looked perfect. The sheets were clean, the beautiful scent of the solution used when washing them slowly filled the small room. The towels on the bed were arranged into intricate shapes, other accessories for the guests placed carefully on their designated spots. The girl checked everything one more time and then pulled a clean rag from under her apron to clean the last specks of dust off the furniture in the room.

An old man peeked into the room through the open door. “Is everything ready?” He scanned the room and his frown slowly turned into a smile. “Perfect as always, Parull. Are the other rooms in your section ready as well?”

“Of course, sir,” girl answered, her head bowed down politely.

Man rubbed his hands together. “Perfect. The guests will be arriving shortly and by the attendance it seems we will need every room available. I wanted to ask you to help the other maids with their duties, but I just remembered we will probably have to get more vials of thalea oil. One of the traders downtown should have some. Would you be so kind to run and get them Parull?”

The girl smiled. “Whatever you need, sir.”

Aziza quickly scuttled through the palace halls, looking at the floor, unnoticed amongst dozens of other servants rushing after their errands. How easy was it to become invisible. She didn’t even have to sleep with that old supervisor to get the job, as workforce was scarce before the big festival. Frankly, she was relieved she didn’t have to go and help the other girls. Blending in and pretending to be one of them wasn’t hard, but their stupid chatting and gossiping and dreaming about being married to this noble or another one bored Aziza to death and made her want to kill someone. She wished there was something she could do, but hadn’t received any new orders yet, so she had to maintain her cover of sweet Parull, a bit silly but hardworking middle-class girl, who dreams of having a career as a palace servant.

One defiant string of hair escaped the braid again and Aziza pulled it behind her ear, reminding herself that she must dye the hair again soon. Her natural platinum color always started to shine through after few days, no matter what kind of dye she used on them. Current dark tone made her look like some of her ancestors were Freyja and the rest something indistinguishable, a mixture very common amongst the lower classes. A bit of powder made her complexion look darker, but the most important aspect was the invisibility. When no one can see you, no one will be suspicious about you.

She made her way through the crowds on the streets onto the market, stopping at one stall to buy a piece of pastry. While taking small bites she managed to extract a tiny piece of paper hidden inside without anyone noticing. The eyes of most people were glued to a group of artists in the center of the market, juggling with knives, axes and other sharp objects. Aziza sneered at two pickpockets weaving through the crowd and cutting unsuspecting people’s pouches open. She peeked into the note.

“King and queen arriving soon. Collect information and wait for new orders.”

Had anyone been watching her face while she read the text, they would probably turn around and run off scared. For a split second, the true Aziza appeared on Parull’s face and a quick growl escaped her mouth. Immediately regaining her self-control, she smiled again, all signs of anger disappearing without a trace. The note didn’t tell her anything new. She already knew the Primfira royalty was arriving to the festival, after all that was no secret. No new orders. Again. She sighed.

One of the pickpockets got closer to her, pretending to look on someone else. Putting on her best naive smile, she turned to “accidentally” bump into him. “Oh my gosh, I am so sorry,” she said with an apologetic smile. The thief looked into her eyes and what he saw made him try to back off, panic appearing in his eyes. Aziza pulled him closer, twisting his wrist, the tiny blade hidden in man’s sleeve quickly changing the owner and disappearing in his stomach. The thief gasped for air, putting his hands over the wound while his shirt started to turn bright red. “So sorry,” Aziza mumbled with a wide grin and disappeared in the crowd.

Valeri Andora

The Primfira entourage arrived fashionably later then expected outside the gates of the Exodus palace. Their gilded ivory carriages were pulled by several albino horses, whose blue eyes twinkled in the night. The middle carriage was at last opened, revealing the Princess Valeri Andora smiling devilishly and two flustered servant girls, their usual pale cheeks a light shade of pink. They quickly composed themselves and helped their Lady out of the carriage.

With a sly smile on her face, Valeri took a breath of Exodus air, reveling in the scents and aromas that were presented to her. Valeri's long hair was up in a messy bun, and she wore a very elegant dress, one that seemingly went against normal Andorian customs, but Valeri had never been a large fan of the dresses from her youth. They felt too confining, too restrictive, so she had her tailor alter the design into something more fitting. It was frowned upon by most, but when did that ever stop her? She seldom headed the opinions of others, even her parent's when she wasn't in a good mood.

After a short while, and a lot of staring, it was time for the Primfira royals to head the party. She was then escorted by a mix of her own guards, and those of Freyja blood up to the festival, the other nobles not far behind. It was an odd sight, to be in the company of those who were shorter then her and with darker skin tones. She could not help but smile at the thought of how tiny everyone else was. Especially the Freyja women.

It was not long before a chorus of people were heard, with music and mirth. Her excitement only grew on the outside, but inside she was collected. True this was a festival to enjoy, but at the same time these people were going against everything they had ever stood for. To marry the royal princess to one outside of Exodus was unheard of, and the Primfira people were not happy. But Valeri put that to the side, for right now there was other more important tasks at hand. Now was a time for celebrating the Princess of Exodus, and meeting people. For a quick glance around by Valeri, indicated that there were many attractive people here.

The Primfira delegation was then announced, all eyes turned to them and their pale beauty. Valeri smiled warmly and the night began.

Thyrri

Interactions: @KahleenCuthald

Thyrri noticed that the Earthica princess is carefully studying her appearance as they spoke and a slight smile appeared on her lips. It was only natural to be curious about all the new races and people, and the princess probably didn’t have many chances to leave her palace, let alone travel to other countries. Even Thyrri herself had to fight with the urge to stare at some of the new guests. The Luthran delegation caught everyone’s eyes – the gargantuan man looking like he could tear a tree out of the ground and use it as a walking stick and a woman playing with some sharp curved blade. ‘How did they even let her come in with such weapon?’ Thyrri wondered. They must have been important, because none of the guards or the Exodus royals commented on the matter.

The guests from Primfira were also easily spotted – their snow-white hair glowing in the dim light and, naturally, thanks to their height, they could look at the crowds from above. Thyrri had seen several Andorians before, so she wasn’t as captivated by their unnatural paleness as were some of the other Freyja.

She glanced at Eve again. The princess seemed distracted, her eyes jumping from one person to another, her eyebrows furrowed in concentration.

“Are you looking for someone, prince… Eve?” she corrected herself midword. “The tournament should start soon and it will be hard to find anyone once the people gather to watch, but there is still some time. I could help you, if you wish, I know my way around here,” she added with a smirk. She was beginning to like Eve and naturally the princess was seemed nervous left all alone amongst complete strangers. Thyrri was guessing that she was just looking for some familiar face.

As the evening progressed, people started to get a bit drunk and their conversations seemed a bit more relaxed. Thyrri spotted queen Viviane in the crowd and slouched a bit, trying to hide from her sight. Viviane probably more important things to deal with than her insubordinate niece, but it was better not to test the luck.

Arriving later than most would be Zaya, hearing of the festival much later than others. A mere end thought for those of Exodus. She had received a letter, requesting her presence as a guest and entertainer if she felt up to it. Zaya was unsure if she would perform for such people, but she knew Exodus was extremely wealthy, having experienced said wealth first hand as a child. The money she could potentially earn from tips was an idea she entertained. The raven haired vixen would come dressed in a revealing dress, her body was what acquired the money she needed to live, so why wouldn't she put it on display. The dress that draped her was metallic black, made from chainmail, the material hugging her curves, dripping across her body like liquid metal.

She would eye the beauty of her ex-Kingdom as her carriage slowed to a halt, the familiar smells awakening memories within. A solemn sigh would escape lips painted like deep wine. Eyes like ink would stay glued to Exodus, a stare full of thought keeping her concealed inside the carriage. The sound of the door opening would break her stupor, a guard motioning for her to exit, offering her a gloved hand as support. Zaya would clear her throat, grasping the mans hand before stepping from the carriage with grace. It was always so warm in Exodus, something she remembered fondly about the Kingdom. She appreciated the warmth, her skimpy attire not suited for colder weather. Zaya would raise a hand, sharp feline like nails colored to match her hair, disappearing throughout the loosely curled locks. She would untangle and spruce the strands of silky obsidian, the exhaustive carriage ride striping her hair of volume that she would now restore.

Zaya would find herself ambling down a familiar path, Exodus presenting itself just as she had abandoned it. The woman would admire the wealthy Kingdom, appreciating the expensive dresses adorned by the women. She could see attendee's from her own Kingdom of Luthra, likely scheming among each other. She herself had plans for her trip in Exodus, expecting to leave with hands far from empty. Pick-pocketing was something she was fond of, it gave her pleasure and was always a great adrenaline boost.

Zaya would slither around a man who stood alone, coming to his front to offer a wicked smile. "I recognize you, it's me.. Zaya.. remember?" A thick accent could be heard coming from the woman, similar to Latin, something that had all but died off. Zaya would rest a palm against the mans chest, he opened his mouth to speak, face flustered from the interaction, but Zaya would stop his words prematurely with a "tsk," finger raising to his lips. While the man was distracted with these actions, her free hand would work its way to his coin satchel, gripping the small bag before concealing it behind her. "Actually.. I have you mixed up with someone else. My apologies sir.. But if you are interested, come find me." A cocky grin would follow her words before she would slip off into the noise of people, the man left dazed and confused, completely unaware of his missing coins. Following the simple robbery, Zaya would casually pass the satchel off to an Exodus guard, she knew they could be trusted and would never think to steal from a lower-class citizen, seeing it as dirty even. She instructed him to return the satchel to her carriage where the rest of her luggage was, insisting it all be brought to her room when it was assigned to her. The interaction was swift and brief, as soon as she had started the conversation, it was ended and the woman was off to her next form of entertainment.

The bar in the garden would become her new home, downing a few drinks as she inspected the people attending. She would take note of things like race, what weapons a person carried, expressions, and many more miscellaneous details. Each item stored mentally, sure to stay with her for future reference. If something were to break out, or she would be required to defend herself, these small inspections would prove to be crucial information.

Wandering into the palace, Dalious was in awe of all the colors and designs. So many rubies and ornaments, fresh on display for all to see. He wondered how long it would take him to chisel one of those precious stones out of the walls. His attention shifted to an Exodus guard wearing fine armor and standing still while the people passed. The guard looked him over once as he approached, noting his rugged and dirty clothes.

"Good day fine sir, could you perhaps point me in the direction of the prince of Luthra?" Dalious asked, trying his best to keep a solid composure. The ground was still moving and he was seeing double.

"I've not heard word of the prince, but the mother and father have arrived," the guard replied and pointed in their direction.

Dalious winced. "That's alright I'll just keep looking," he said. "He likes to run from his own bodyguard sometimes, the sneaky little bastard. Thanks anyway..."

"Your his bodyguard? Then you're late," the guard stated. "It's tradition for the royal bodyguards to participate in the entertainment. Follow me."

Dalious nodded and followed the man, it was about time he was recognized. A smile brewing on his face, he just knew that he was heading right for the finest luxuries this place had to offer. Food, wine, and women. For a moment, he thought participating in the entertainment meant some kind of orgy. "Now we're talking, you lot run a fine palace here." It was when he was brought into the armory that he realized it meant something else.

Three different servants began putting steel armor on him, not even giving him a moment to think before the breast plate was placed and latched on. "Wait, the bloody hell is this? What's the armor for?"

"The tournament will start soon, you're expected to lose," the guard informed him. "Remember it's just for fun, no killing. Put on a show and good luck!" The guard wandered off as the servants finished equipping his shoulder plates and boots.

"What tournament?" Dalious asked as he left, the servants handed him a shield and sword. "Hey, get back here you misleading piece of shit! I'm not even the prince's bodyguard, I'm a bloomin' pirate! Hey, get back here!"

When he was finished with his little tantrum one of the servants leaned in and whispered, "We'll need your name to announce it when you fight." She held out a pad and a feathered pen while Dalious just stared at her with a grim expression. He sighed and shrugged.

"Fuck it, sign me up." He scribbled his name down for her and went to prepare.

Laurel Mith

Before either of the large men could respond, Laurel caught sight of the Freyjan woman speaking to Eve out of the corner of her eye. With a quick nod she excused herself from the veteran warriors and slipped away toward the palace gates. There a guard held up a hand to stop her but she merely pointed to her insignia and whisked past him before the man had a chance to stop her. Whether guards were truly allowed in or not was a mute point, Laurel was sure that Eve would be clueless as to whom she was speaking and she had been keeping track of the drinks the Princess had been downing; not enough to affect her overly but surely enough to dull some of her senses. Senses she would need surrounded by strangers in this venomous gathering.

Before she reached Eve she was approached by a servant bearing a small quill and paper. They resolutely stopped Laurel in her tracks, despite her obvious attempt to sidestep tbem.

"We'll need your name for the tournament rolls, ma'am. I presume you're from Earthica?"

"What? Oh, yes I am." She replied, distracted and peering over the much shorter servant's head at Eve.

"And your name, ma'am? I need it for the announcer."

"Laurel, Laurel Mith.

She slipped past the curtseying servant, freed from the interaction she had barely paid attention to and weaved her way toward Eve. Frequently she was stopped by servant's offering her luxurious platters of food or drinks but she refused them all, unlike Eve she had no intention of drinking that day but more importantly she could not be delayed.

Stopping a little ways down the array of tables piled high with food she paused, turning to appear as though she were observing the food. Having got this far what had she truly intended to do? Stop Eve talking to someone just because they might be dangerous? That would hardly go down well with the Princess not was it fair, she was not some idiot royal without a clue, merely a little rebellious against her parents and their sensibilities.

She subtly watched, picking at some kind of meat based snack, as the Freyjan Princess stepped closer and caressed Eve's hair and felt a tingle down her spine. Forcing herself to be still, she observed the ending of their interaction, the Freyjan remembering her position and rushing away to her other guests. She could see Eve's flushed face and felt a small pang of irritation but quickly smothered it, there was no time for jealousy of which source she was unsure; Eve was a Princess from a foreign land so of course others would come to talk to her. Laurel's role was not to interfere, merely to protect.

Another Freyjan, bearing some small resemblance to the former beyond merely their race, approached Eve and they began to talk again. Laurel frowned, trying to remember the information about the various royals drummed into her by Ulfic and, after mentally passing through the ranks of known figures, identified the woman as another Princess but not from the main family line. Thyrri, she thought. This one seemed more approachable and, importantly for Laurel, less high ranking than the earlier Princess, and so she set down her uneaten food and strolled up to the pair.

"Princess." It was hard not to address her friend by name but certain expectations were place upon here in this social situation. "I see you're getting into the spirit of things." She spared a glance at the drinks in Eve's hand before turning to the Freyjan Princess and offered her a small bow.

"I apologise for interrupting, I had lost track of the Princess for a moment amongst all these visitors. I may be stating the obvious but I am her bodyguard for this event, Laurel-"

"-Mith?"

She turned as an Exodus guard approached, holding a piece of paper in his hand. He looked Laurel up and down with a discerning eye, noting the longbow strapped to her back and the dagger thrust through her belt.

"Yes, that's me. Is something wrong?" She felt some small trepidation, maybe she was not allowed in here? Despite her surety that she had seen other guards inside the palace walls she worried that perhaps she had overstepped her bounds; the King would be disappointed if she made a scene here.

"You're expected for the tournament, you gave your name to an organiser earlier." His eyes strayed toward the bow over her shoulder."Would've thought you'd sign up for the archery contest. 'Suppose there'll be time for both. Come, there is not much time to prepare you."

Before she had the wit to protest the guard grasped her by the arm and began to pull her away. Although she had the strength to pull away she resigned herself to her fate, now recalling the distracted conversation she had had earlier. Admonishing herself for not paying attention, she let herself be lead away. She shot a last glance toward Eve before she was swallowed up by the crowd.

The guard led her into the palace and then down some steps to an armoury where others were being suited in heavy looking armour. Some attendants stepped up toward her, carrying the many components of full plate between them. She began to feel nervous, never having worn any armour beyond her hunting leathers. Having heard of its weight she feared she would be slow, having relied on speed in past bouts back in Earthica but it was lighter than she had thought, her strength from years practicing with the bow lending her an advantage over most practiced warriors.

A servant approached her with a sword and shield but she caught sight of a handaxe on the wall and pointed toward it. With a mild look of disapproval they laid aside the sword and brought her the more familiar weapon; apparently such a thing was considered base here but she was desperate not to make a fool of herself before the assembled royalty who would surely be watching. Winning was hardly on her mind, not losing in an embarrassing manner was very much in the forefron.

The brightly lit up garden filled with more and more people, dancing, drinking, wrapped up in conversation, simply enjoying themselves. The higher percentage of present Freyja slowly but surely got balanced by the continuously incoming guests from Luthra, Primfira and Earthica.

The arrival of the Mother and Father of Luthra was one that Eve must have missed, not paying so much attention to who was coming and going anymore as she got slightly more wrapped up with the person in front of her eyes. But the pair radiated with a certain feeling of trouble, and Eve's instincts guided her eyes towards them in the crowd, a little red light in the back of her head turned on, telling her to be aware of their presence. But this so-called party was guarded, she reminded herself, by Exodus warriors. Surely, they would be capable enough to keep all of their high status guests alive and well... But still, she would rather her own guards would show their faces - where were they anyway? What an absolute unprofessional behavior! You are very much supposed to keep me safe. How will you if you're not even present? She rambled in her head, cursing them and also herself for even wanting their protection, for feeling a little bit unsafe. But coming to the realization that technically Laurel was the one guard specifically assigned to her and that she also was still missing from the festival, she felt conflicted. Bad, because she would think of Laurel as unprofessional. Even worse, for wanting her friend to stand around in a safe distance and watch Eve enjoy herself, just so she wouldn't feel so uncomfortable around the Luthra people. And also a little bit upset, that she was not around yet. On the other hand... She did enjoy talking to Thyrri without anyone eavesdropping on her and standing by closely, ready to interrupt should they feel she was being threatened.

The next entrance caught her attention, a very pale being, white like the sheets - and Eve would not be surprised if they'd had been ghosts! - arrived with their head high. A woman that got introduced as the Princess of Primfira. Evangeline felt somehow curious about her, but only from safe distance. She would not want to be alone with her. Maybe it was a prejudice about her appearance? Or maybe it was an instinct about her personality? She could not tell at this point.

Her eyes fixated back onto Thyrri, who seemed to have noticed her being a bit absent, asking Eve if she was looking for someone specific. But the mention of a tournament about to begin distracted Eve immediately from any of her other thoughts. Her heart stopped for a short second, the pale skin on her face lost just a little bit more color.

"Tournament? What tournament?" How did she not know there was a tournament to be held? Was it some Exodus warriors fighting for their enjoyment? Were the son of Luthra and the two princesses about to fight for the hand of the Exodus princess? Evangeline's mind was racing with possibilities, both innocent as well as deadly. She did not like any of them, should they involve her participation. While her worries were big, it did not show on her face. Eve had never been the best at hiding her feelings, but this time, in an environment full of possible dangers and with Luthra being present, she was able to keep her expressions calm.

The Freyja woman suddenly slouched a bit, making herself appear smaller. A movement that the princess was all too aware of, having done it herself more than a thousand times when trying to avoid her parents or some guard that was sent out to look for her. Did that mean Thyrri was... hiding? Eve instinctively reached for her lower arm, fingers closing around it softly, gently, as though she was a paper doll Eve was afraid of squishing. "Are you okay?", she asked with slight, but undeniable concern in her voice. "Who are you hiding from? Do you want me to shield you?", she added with a small smirk, but the offer was serious.

Somehow she found a liking in the woman. Thyrri did not talk too fancily trying to impress someone, she did not seem to judge Eve's questionable attire, she wasn't all dressed up in sparkly clothes that must've cost a fortune, she was just so... refreshing.

Thyrri stopped to think for a second when Eve asked about the tournament. Having tried to avoid the palace as much as possible during the planning phase of the festival, she didn’t really have any detailed information about how exactly the entertainment is planned. She had only heard about the tournament in one of the taverns in the port when some of the men there regretted they could not participate and have a chance to win the prize money.

The princess seemed very interested in the tournament for some reason – Thyrri could only guess that she doesn’t want to miss a chance to see the best of the best fight for the glory in front of the cheering crowds. After all, she didn’t look like a typical princess, definitely not the ‘porcelain doll’ type. “To be honest, I don’t really know much about the tournament. Only that the best of the men, and maybe the women as well, what do I know, will fight to entertain the guests. The winnings seemed to be quite motivating,” Thyrri said with a sad smile. All too many times she had to stitch people up after these ‘friendly’ duels ‘to the first blood’. In the heat of the fight, warriors often tend to forget that they are not actually trying to kill their opponent.

She had to laugh when Eve offered to shield her. That was a great idea, hiding from the Exodus queen behind the back of the princess from Earthica. “I think I’m good, but thank you for your offer,” she replied, trying hard not to giggle. “I should warn you though, I am kind of a black sheep of the royal family, so being seen with me could cast some bad light on you.” Thyrri was smiling when she said that, but the warning was meant partially serious.

Upon hearing Thyrri's words about the tournament, Eve's mind settled. For the entertainment of the guests. Nothing that would involve her. She lost interest in the subject as quickly as she gained it, now knowing she would be safe from standing in the middle of the public's eye.

Her heart warmed as the lady giggled. Evangeline took great joy in making her laugh, her letting her guard down a little bit, loosening up. The festival seemed almost bearable at the very moment. She blushed a little bit as she noticed her fingers were still gently wrapped around Thyrri's arm, removing it hastily. "I always used to prefer black over white", she said cheekily. The little information about her being part of the royal family of Exodus got lost with her, not registering the full meaning of that just yet. "So, if I may ask, what is your occupation exactly? It is only fair of you to share that bit of information with me, considering that you have an advantage in knowing just what my occupation is."

Thyrri didn’t mind Evangeline touching her but she was probably right to withdraw as it might seem inappropriate to some of the other guests. The simple act of human touch was surprisingly pleasant. Thyrri didn’t even realize how lonely she was, especially ever since her father died. She lived in two worlds but didn’t belong in either of them. There was no one in the palace, that would be at least close to her idea of a ‘normal’ person. And making friends outside? They might greet her like one of her own, drink and chat with her, but she was still Exodus royalty, so everyone walked around her on tiptoes.

She frowned when Eve asked about her occupation. What exactly was her ‘occupation’? Such thought had never come into her mind. “Hmm, that’s an interesting question. I like to think of myself as a healer, and I often help out the local doctor or make house calls, but I wouldn’t exactly call it an occupation. I don’t really have many duties in the castle either, being only the king’s niece. So you could say that I am just wandering around, doing whatever I want to do, while trying to avoid arranged marriages.” Thyrri shook her head. Put like that, her life sounded pretty pathetic. And why was she even telling this to almost complete stranger? From another kingdom nonetheless. But there was something on the foreign princess that made Thyrri want to be friends with her.

The climate of their conversation had changed, Eve could feel it all too clearly. With the question she had asked, she had stepped into a more serious topic, without having expected it to be that. She could sense a sort of discomfort in the air, or maybe it was herself?, and she didn't really like it. Unknowingly the woman had given Evangeline more to think about than she had wished for. A terrifying realization clouded her mind, made her feel slightly sick to her stomach. But no, she would not panic until she knew for certain. It probably was a harmless misinterpretation of words.

"I am sorry if I went too far, I had not know this could be a sensitive topic. I have to apologize." She looked at her, searching her face for indications of disapproval about their current topic of conversation, trying to decipher her, and so she met with her eyes, and gorgeous eyes those were. "I did not know the Exodus royalty would enforce marriage upon their niece. I have to admit, I am not used to such arrangements. And I do not wish it upon anyone."

Her gaze dropped. For some reason she could not stand the idea of Thyrri being forced to do anything, let alone marriage. "May I ask, and I do realize I am overstepping boundaries greatly, whom would they want you to get married to? And what are your reasons for resistance?" Her eyes would look straight back at Thyrri's, now sparked with a deep curiosity, sparkling with something that Eve herself could not name. "Might it be that you're in love with someone else? Do you not desire a marriage altogether? Or perhaps... I mean maybe... you are waiting for the... right person?"

Eve suddenly felt stupid. Her questions were way out of line. She had overstepped a boundary, had taken an action which she could not undo, she had invaded her privacy, she had been disrespectful her mother surely would say. "Excuse me, Thyrri." She shook her head as her eyes dropped down, as if to scold herself. "I should not have let my senseless stupidity get the best of me, I mean no disrespect to you or your family."

But there was one more thing bugging her. "I shall pester you no longer, if you would just be so kind to answer one more question? Do you, by any chance, have another cousin, besides the lovely Aamaya whose presence I was so lucky to enjoy earlier?"

Thyrri watched Eve carefully when she talked, trying to guess her motives. Not many people ever dared to ask her such personal questions so confiding her private thoughts to other people wasn’t a thing she would be used to. Was the princess here as an innocent-looking spy, to find out weak spots in the royal family that Earthica could use later? They were after all a rival kingdom. Thyrri knew that there was a lot of envy and hatred in the relationships between Exodus and other countries. Even with Primfira, which could be called an ally, it was more about mutual benefits than friendship.

She had already told Eve more than she should have. Then why did she want to tell her more? Everything in Thyrri’s mind defied the idea of Evangeline having side motives to her questions. She looked so honest and truly interested on a personal level. A short sigh escaped Thyrri’s lips. How she hated these political machinations. ‘Well, I’m not a politic, I get to talk to whoever I want to about whatever I want to,’ she eventually decided.

Realizing Eve feels ashamed for having asked these questions, Thyrri smiled and put a hand on her shoulder trying to comfort her. “Don’t say such things. I am not offended, it is just that your questions put some things in perspective, which isn’t very… flattering to me. But that is none of your fault.”

Thyrri thought about how to explain the ‘marriage problem’ – she could say that the queen probably wants her to be someone else’s problem, which would be true, but certainly not appropriate. Or she could say that it is a common custom amongst Exodus higher classes, which would only be about half-true, since most young people got to choose who they wed, as long as the desired person was endorsed by their parents. She decided for something in between. “I have a… complicated relationship with the queen and she thought it would be best for me to get married to… let’s say settle down a bit. But I don’t want to get married just because someone told me to. I still hope I will find someone I actually want to be with. So yes, you can say I am waiting for the right person,” Thyrri grinned on how naive that sounded. “But you are a princess, don’t your parents want you to get married to one of your noblemen for some political alliance? If I may ask such question,” she quickly added, realizing now it was her, who is overstepping the boundaries, even more so as this was a princess, an heir to the throne of Earthica.

“And to your last question – princess Aamaya is my only cousin, as far as I know.”

Eve waited patiently as Thyrri hesitated and struggled to find a way to answer. She played with the glass in her hand, her glass already emptied out to the last drop. The idea of another drink, the burning sensation of the alcoholic beverage, the liquid courage in a glass, seemed so welcoming to her. But she knew she should not be drinking so much; the evening was still young and she had yet to face her parents and possibly go through a conversation or two with some other royal folks.

As Thyrri formed her answer, Eve couldn't help but feel compassion for the young woman. Evangeline knew that she was extremely lucky, her mother loved her dearly, although she would piss her off so many times, and she was not being forced into any sort of relationship she did not agree in having. To be fair, her parents did not force her to do much. They gave her a lot of freedom, her mother always supported her in most of the decisions she made, although they were never any kind of 'ladylike' or 'princessy'. She would be okay with her daughter wearing shorts and belly-free tops while roaming around the forests of Earthica, throwing knives and ignoring her duties. Of course there were things Evangeline had been made to do. But she could not complain about her loving mother, if she was honest. Given what Thyrri was saying about the queen, Eve questioned if the princess of Exodus was giving this festival out of free will. She was, and how she hated to admit that to herself, a spoiled brat. They might not have a lot of money in Earthica, but Eve had never missed out on a thing. And to thank her mother for all her love and understanding and her shoulder to cry on, she would misbehave in such an important matter as this festival, riot against the approriate attire, probably driving her mother insanely mad.

"I am so displeased to hear that", Eve stated again. Then she shook her head at Thyrri's question. "Well... Firstly, I would never marry any noblemen, for I am not interested in them. I feel much more drawn towards intriuging women. But no... My parents have not given any indication about wanting to marry me off for the sake of a political alliance. It has not striked my mind until just now since you mentioned it that this could be a possibility. My mother... I do not believe she would put me through that. I can not see her pushing me into such a state of unhappiness, I want to believe that it is not in her heart to hurt me like that." Evangeline's gaze softened, she felt sorrow with just the plain thought of her mother betraying her like that. No, she would never do that to her. "I do believe that my parents would be pleased should I choose to fight for the hand of the princess and perhaps even win it. It would be the right political move. But I feel as though my mother would want me to lead a happy life, more than a politically advantaging life. I mean, I hope so."

Evangeline thought about her own words for a short moment. Would it be so bad to marry the princess of Exodus? It would make her father proud, she would finally be worthy in his eyes. Where would she live then? Here? The picture of a fiery red haired, strong, independent woman crushed the thought quickly. What would Laurel think of her, should she choose to do what was politically correct for her kingdom? She would possibly have to abadon her, leave her behind in Earthica to rule Exodus with the princess. Or would Laurel come with her? Could she be so cruel to ask that of her? No... She couldn't. But could she be without her? No, Laurel has been her only friend for so long. Eve needed her, needed her advice and her kicks in the butt, her support and her strength. Who would run the kingdom after her parents, if she was to become the next Exodus queen?

Eve shook these thoughts away. They were not relevant right now, not needed to be dealt with. She would not marry the princess. She had already lost her. Aamaya was Thyrri's only cousin. Princess Aamaya, she said. Evangeline had talked to the princess of Exodus, the one person she was supposed to impress, supossed to bewicht, and she had already failed horribly. She had even made her run away from her within minutes. Oh dear lord, please do not let my parents find out. Eve did not even want to think about what consequences she would have to face, if her parents found out about her disrespectful, unacceptable behavior towards their host, who happed to be one of the most powerful people on this planet, the next ruler of the greatest kingdom. Having her dislike you could lead to serious political disadvantages. How could she have missed that this woman was the princess of Exodus?!

Her inner negative rambling was quickly interrupted when Laurel approached the two women, Eve's eyes lit up momentarily upon seeing her friend safely. And just then she realized that she had been worried about Laurel, not knowing whether the warrior had been alright or gotten into a fight or whatnot.

"Princess." Laurel addressed her formally, causing Evangeline to cringe slightly, but she did not let her deprecation show. The formality was necessary during the festival, she knew that. "I see you're getting into the spirit of things." Was that a glance of disapproval towards her drink...? Or was she interpreting it wrong?

"Laurel, it is so good to see you." A smile of shier relief appeared on Eve's lips.

"I apologise for interrupting, I had lost track of the Princess for a moment amongst all these visitors. I may be stating the obvious but I am her bodyguard for this event, Laurel-"

"-Mith?" An Exodus guard interrupted her friend, the smile on Evangeline's lips disappeared as quickly as it had formed. What was it about Exodus and interrupting people? She was about to scold the guard for their disrespectful behavior towards a fine Earthica warrior, and for being so bluntly stupid to interrupt a conversation the princess of Earthica was having, but she restrained herself.

The guard mentioned the tournament, which Evangeline had heard of only recently, stated that she had signed up for that part of the entertainment and basically pulled Laurel away from her, who didn't attempt to fight back and so Eve let her go. She watched as the guard and her friend disappeared in the fancy crowd.

"This is unbelievable", she mumbled to herself, then she would turn to face Thyrri again. "She will not get hurt in the tournament, will she?", Evangeline asked with a stern tone, for the first time sounding like a princess, demanding an answer as heavy disapproval swung within her voice. But right after the words had come out she sighed, dropped her worries and that princess act - being harsh to Thyrri would not change anything and it was wildly unfair.

"My apologies. I just can not stand such behavior. And what am I talking about - Laurel getting hurt? I should be much more concerned about her opponents coming out with all their limbs still attached." Yet, she did not believe her own words completely. Evangeline was concerned about her friend's well-being. The tournament would surely not be to death, that would not go well with the guests and would cause serious tension, which would easily erupt with all the different kingdoms being present. But she could possibly take away serious injuries. What a lucky coincidence, she thought, that she had just befriended a talented healer.

With Laurel being absent again, she got reminded of where their conversation had left off. Remembering that she had something on her chest, something she wanted to set right. "Thyrri.... I have to ask you a strange favor", the princess said in a more serious tone than known from her. "Can you lead me the way towards the carriages? There's something I dropped on the floor of mine that I have to get back, as soon as possible. I have to correct a mistake, will you help me?"

Thyrri noticed Eve’s mood changing as they talked. ‘Awesome, here I am supposed to entertain one of the most important guests of the festival, and I have only managed to make her feel miserable. Great job, Thyrri, great job.’ Suppressing a frown, she tried to figure out, what the hell is wrong with her. She wasn’t the most charismatic person ever, but she would usually get along well with other people, not make them depressed. She decided to do anything she could to make Eve look happy again.

As they were approached by the princess’ bodyguard, Thyrri noticed the sparkle in Eve’s eyes and wondered whether those two have some deeper relationship beyond the official one. Not that it was any of Thyrri’s business. She was just opening her mouth to reply to the girl’s introduction but didn’t have to speak before one of the festival organizers dragged Laurel away. Eve’s mood dropped again as her bodyguard disappeared from their sight. “I am sure she will be all right,” Thyrri tried to comfort her. “These things usually have strict safety rules and people rarely get hurt.”

When Evangeline made her request, Thyrri had to think for a second, to figure out the shortest way to the back yard, where the carriages were parked until the guests needed them again. “All right, I think I know where we need to go,” she said and started to make her way through the crowd, holding the princess’ hand as not to lose her in the moving ocean of extravagantly dressed people. She stopped for only a split second, staring at a woman at the bar, who was wearing a metallic… Thyrri wouldn’t even go that far to call it a dress, more like small pieces of fabric covering most of the necessary places. Her eyebrows raised, she giggled quietly. ‘Well that is certainly something else,’ she thought before continuing her way.

The hallway she picked was nearly empty, only one smaller group of people sought it out as a place to talk in private and relative quiet, and two people passionately kissing, hidden away in a small wall niche. Thyrri reluctantly let go of Eve’s hand as they kept walking in familiar silence. A few servants hurrying this way or another crossed their path, but otherwise this section of the palace seemed mostly deserted. “This entire section was turned to rooms for the festival guests,” Thyrri said quietly, feeling like she should say at least something. “I am sure you and your parents have been assigned several of our nicest chambers.” The sad truth was they weren’t. The best rooms were saved for the Primfira delegation, but whoever said that out loud would get into serious trouble.

They walked past one of the smaller kitchens and finally they reached a small service entrance Thyrri had been aiming for. It led them directly to the stables, now filled with horses that brought the delegations here. Two stablemen gave them strange looks, especially when eyeing Eve’s attire, but didn’t make any comments. The carriages were parked behind the stables, lined next to each other, ready should their owners decide to leave the festival early.

Thyrri taking her hand to guide her through the masses of the bright garden surprised Eve. She didn't feel like the woman had been too pleased with the physical contact earlier, when Eve had reached for her arm. But now it seemed to bother her no longer. Evangeline surely would not complain. Being dragged through glitterly, sparkling, elegant dresses and neatly fitting suits, she bumped into Thyrri's back as the woman stopped for just a moment. Confused about their sudden halt Eve followed her gaze. Her eyes met with a lot of bare skin, wrapped only slightly in what seemed to be a black-metallic piece of revealing clothing. Evangeline was concerned that the next breeze would reveal all of the woman. She did not seem to be wearing anything else underneath that thing. Not considering her undeniably supposed-to-be-errotic attire, the woman was of unfair beauty. Eve wondered if Thyrri knew her perhaps; she must be from Exodus.

Just a second after having stopped, Thyrri already continued to pull her forward, a secure grip on her hand. It shot through her mind, that maybe it was not too smart to sneak around the castle with a stranger, who was part of the Exodus royalty, without any of her guards accompanying her. But she trusted Thyrri - and that was foolish, she knew that.

As they reached a hallway, Thyrri slowed down the pace and let go of Eve's hand. Reluctantly so, the princess noticed. And frankly, Eve missed the warm skin on hers immediately. Thyrri continued to lead the way, the ginger woman following her neatly, almost like a lost puppy, her eyes darting around in awe and adoration. Even the not-so-fancy parts of the castle were all too fancy for her liking. Bigger, better than anything she had seen in Earthica. This marriage would be of great advantage to my kingdom and folk, she thought to herself.

Moments later they stood in the stables. It smelled of hey, horses and their excrements. Evangeline could feel her heart almost bursting with joy for the familiar odor. The oils and the perfume of the festival left behind, she greeted the new envirenmont thankfully with a deep inhale. It reminded her of home, at least a little bit.

The princess spotted her carraige with ease, striding towards it with confidence and pulling the door open roughly. On the ground of the carraige, just as she left it, lied her dark green dress, hairpins and those shoes that she hated more than she wanted to. Eve looked at the gown, she could not believe she was about to do this. A sigh left her throat, but she had already made up her mind and there was no backing down. Maybe she could still fix things.

"I don't like to ask.... But I might need your help with that." The red haired woman stepped aside to allow Thyrri a look inside the carriage, a slim hand reaching up to stroke a strand of her own hair behind her ear. A little blush could be spotted on her cheeks. "These things were not made to be put on by oneself...", she tried to explain, terribly so. Her fingers began nervously playing with the strand of hair they had just tucked back. Like most of her actions she had not thought this through. Asking a member of the royal family to help her get dressed.... Logic, as always with the impulsibe princess, crashing in way too late once again.

Thyrri was expecting a lot of things but a beautiful dress lying in a messy pile on the ground, accompanied by a pair of shoes, apparently kicked off in a hurry, everything decorated by a bunch of hairpins, most of them still containing strings of red hair. She had no idea whether to feel amused, embarrassed or something else, leaving her confused. A short hysterical laugh escaped her lips. This whole situation was a bit absurd. “I’m sorry,” she raised her hands in defensive manner when she realized her laugh might look offensive. “I just didn’t know what I was expecting.” She scratched her head, thinking what to do now. Putting such gown on was no simple matter and the inside of the carriage was definitely too small for such endeavor.

“I think I have an idea. Let’s just pick this all up,” she grabbed the shoes and started to collect the hairpins. They folded the dress and now Eve’s face was barely visible behind the huge pile of cloth in her arms. “All right, just follow me,” she said and headed to the other side of the yard. A small door there were a back entrance to the private section of the palace, reserved only for the Exodus royalty. The guards recognized Thyrri and gave Eve a very long and suspecting look. Thyrri attempted a charming smile and the man just shook his head and gestured them to go.

Thyrri’s chambers were right around the corner, she specifically requested them because that way she could easily escape outside when she felt the need. It originally seemed like a great idea for a safe place to help Eve put the gown on, but just now she realized that it might seem inappropriate to invite the princess to her own room. “Umm…,” she didn’t know what to say so she just opened the door and invited Eve in, suddenly feeling a bit ashamed of the mess there. And of course, the beautiful rich gown she was supposed to wear was still hanging in the corner.

“Let’s see what we have here,” Thyrri was nervous, so she reached for Eve’s dress, trying to untangle it and figure out how to put it on. “I would probably kill myself in shoes like that,” she smiled, glancing at the remarkably high heels. “You can try some of mine on if you want, although I am not sure they will fit. I think I have it,” she said triumphantly, managing to find the right entering point to the dress. “I… think you will have take that off,” Thyrri pointed to Eveline’s shirt, her hands battling the layers of the dress.

Her face hidden behind a pile of clothes, shoes balancing on top, she peaked around the gown she was carrying, trying to see where she was going as she stumbled after Thyrri, carefully trying to keep her balance. She felt like a silly sheep, blindly following the shepherd. She did not know where they were heading, her eyes kept fixated on the floor, afraid to trip over something, she could not make out anything other than the ground before her feet and the hem of Thyrri's dress, which she used as her star at the sky to guide her way.

With the green dress hiding half her vision, Eve almost ran into the door frame as she entered the chamber Thyrri had led them to. With a thud the whole pile landed on the floor. Eve dragged her arm over her forehead, as though having worked very hard, wiping off some sweat pearls that lingered on her skin, but mostly messing up her hair even more in the process. Standing in the room with her red mane falling around her pale face, strands of wild hair standing in several directions, messy und untamed, her earth green eyes took in the view.

The room had a wonderful sense of life to it with all the things lying around. A pompous, legendary gown hang in the one corner, demanding attention with it's pure glorious existence, but seemingly having been banished there to be ignored. Evangeline soon realized that Thyrri had guided her to her very own chamber. Invited her into her little world, her private room. She felt honored, special even, to being allowed an entrance so effortlessly. The dress in the corner, looking so heavy and expensive, formed a big contrast to the rest of the room. It could have easily been a metaphor for Thyrri's conflict with the queen and the enforced marriage she feared. The glittering, glorious life that the queen saw for her, that Thyrri was supposed to play pretend, weighing heavy and pulling eyes towards her without one seeing the burden she is carrying - but she had tossed those enforced responsibilities aside, kept them in a corner of her mind, and had decided to wear a lighter version of that prison. Eve wondered how much facade Thyrri was used to maintaining all day. And how much facade she was maintaining for Eve right now.

"What?" Eve had drifted off too far once again. While she had taken in her new surroundings, the private intimate place of Thyrri, the Freyja woman had untangled her dress for her and was fumbling with the fabric of it. Her eyes were set on Evangeline with something like expectation. "Oh... right. Sorry. I...", the red haired woman stuttered, any grace she had been able to cultivate slipping from her for a moment. "Of course. Undress. Right." She laughed softly and her cheeks turned red with embarrassment.

She didn't have any problems undressing in front of Thyrri, that was no issue, she was not prude about her body as anyone in Earthica was well aware of. But she did feel silly and even ashamed that she would stutter in front of her and lose that effortless grace she usually carried her body with. Quickly the princess grabbed the hem of her shirt with both of her hands, arms crossed to an X, and pulled it over her head slowly, someone might have considered it to be teasingly slow, when really she was just fearing of embarrassing herself more by getting stuck in it. As she pulled the red fabric up her body, lifting it over her head, a somewhat toned, flat stomach and nice hips got revealed. Evangeline dropped the top and with skilled fingers she opened the button of her shorts and then effortlessly pushed them down her long legs. Stepping out of them, she was standing in a forest green lace bra and panties, a few very thin, delicate branches with only a couple leaves were draped over it in golden yarn. It was ridiculously matching her dress. Maybe she should have chosen a neutral black pair instead.

Thyrri tried not to stare at Eve’s body, still stunned by the whole situation and the ease with which she took off her clothes in front of a complete stranger. It was one gorgeous body, Thyrri had to admit to herself, which must have caused plenty of lust in both men and women around the princess. Certainly something to think about after all this festival madness ends and Thyrri will have some time for herself. She didn’t usually think this way about women, not because she wasn’t attracted to their bodies, but mostly because nearly every woman she had met before had some personality traits that discouraged her from wanting to get closer to them. That was definitely not the matter with Eve, at least not so far.

‘Get it together girl, you are a doctor, for devil’s sake, you have seen more naked women than some men ever will in their entire lives!’ She took a deep breath to quickly regain her composure and put the gown over Eve’s head, balancing on the tiptoes trying not to drop the entire heavy thing on her. Once the dress was in place she let Eve adjust it around her waist and breasts, not wanting to put them both to even more uncomfortable position. Meanwhile she collected the hairpins and tried to clean Eve’s hair off them so they could be reused.

“I am not really an expert on this, I usually just make a braid when I need the hair out of my face. I think your hair looks perfect when it’s loose like this,” she added quietly, looking at the ground. ‘Why are you saying that, it is completely inappropriate.’ “What about the shoes, you really want to wear those?” Thyrri said quickly, trying to change the topic. “I have some string sandals which might fit you, they aren’t extremely comfortable, but better than this monstrosity. Let me look for them.” She turned away and bent down beside one wardrobe.

Eve stood as still as she could in this bizarre situation she had navigated herself into. Thyrri was, she had to admit, even more stunning from up close. Now that the woman was trying to get this uncomfortable dress onto Evangeline somehow, the princess unwillingly had the chance to gather a quick look at her from a close position. Her skin showed no signs of powder on them, just the raw, bare bronze tone, untouched. She adored it. There was a beauty radiating from her eyes.... Evangeline would have gotten lost in them, if the dress had not gotten pulled over her gaze in just that moment.

Quickly she recollected herself, once the gown was over her head, adjusting it as best as she could. The tight waistline made her feel slightly claustrophobic, but she swallowed the upcoming need to rip the thing right off of her body again. She fumbled on the dress, pulled it in one direction, then in the next, pushed her bra up as it had been accidentally pushed into an uncomfortable position, then shook her body to see if everything sat where it should be. "I guess it's the best I can do", she said to herself.

Averting her eyes from the green gown and finally looking back at Thyrri, she found her pulling strands of red hair off the hairpins. "Oh you don't have to do that - " But she didn't listen to her.

Evangeline raised her hands to her hair, combing through it in an attempt to make it seem less wild, unsuccessfully so. She then tried to put it in an upper style with her bare hands, just to test what she was able to create. It was more terrible than before. She sighed and gave up, dropping her hands down to her sides in defeat. Due to her hands having tangled around in her fiery mane, she had an even messier crown as a result.

Thyrri assured her, with her gaze dropping to the ground, that she looked just perfect with her hair hanging loosely around her face. It turned Eve's lips into a sweet smile. She enjoyed the presence of the healer very much, even more so when she let go of her guard, dropped her manners, forgot certain boundaries. It reminded Eve of herself and it reassured her that she was not alone in the world.

Suddenly Thyrri began to talk about Eve's footwear hurriedly. The princess giggled softly at her dedication and helpfulness. "Thank you so much, that would be of great help." Her eyes kept fixated onto Thyrri's backside as the dark haired woman tried to find the mentioned shoes. "And thank you for the compliment. I do prefer my hair loose, I have a tendency to play with it. And if I may return the kind words, I do think your hair looks gorgeous as well. Perfect even", she attempted to tease Thyrri with the choice of words.

Thyrri, trying to find the right shoes for Eve stopped for a moment and turned her head back to the princess. ‘Is she just making fun of me? There is no way she is being serious, right?’ She just shook her head, confused, and finally pulled the right pair of sandals out. “Here, try these on,” she passed them to Eve and watched her struggle with the number of strings that were supposed to keep them in place. “It’s a bit complicated,” she grinned when Eve’s impatient fingers made a knot that seemed impossible to untie. “Let me help you, we can’t be here forever.” Her tone sounded strict but the smile on her face revealed that she was just trying to tease the princess back in return for her remarks.

Getting down on one knee she dug under Eve’s dress to get to her feet. At least she could be facing the ground, so the princess wouldn’t see her blushing. ‘How did you even get into this situation? Peeking under gowns, very classy.’ She tried to tie the shoes quickly, but of course that caused her to make another knot. Eve’s foot twitched a bit when Thyrri accidentally run her finger on its bottom side. “I’m sorry.” Her voice was muffled by the sound of fabric surrounding her. Finally, the knot gave in and Thyrri managed to secure the boots in place. She made her way back up and tried to fix her hair. “All set. I suppose we should be heading back now, if you are ready? I don't suppose you want to miss the tournament.”

The sandals Thyrri had picked out for the princess to wear underneath her gown were impossible to put on. She needed at least five hands more to get the strings wrapped around her legs without making tons of knots! After just a few weak attempts Thyrri saved her by taking it upon herself to put the shoes on correctly.

The woman dug underneath the dress and a blush once again formed on Evangeline's cheeks. Lucky enough for her, Thyrri was busy with those ridiculously hard to put on shoes and couldn't spot the redness in her face. A soft touch of fingers against her foot tickled her and made her ankle twitch. Moments later Thyrri came back up, beautiful dark hair messed up slightly and a little red on her cheeks.

Evangeline nodded in answer to her question. "I really do not want to miss the tournament." Missing the tournament, and therefore not being there when Laurel was gonna be fighting, was simply unacceptable.

The princess ran her fingers through her red mane one last time, pulled on the waist of the dress in an unsuccessful attempt to widen it around that area, and then began to gather her clothes and the hairpins. "Thank you so much for your help", she looked at Thyrri, took in the features of her face, enjoyed her presence for a last moment before they'd have to head back. "I owe you big. Just let me know if there's anything I can do for you. Don't hesitate to ask."

She gave her a sincere smile, then she clutched the gathered clothing against her chest and headed for the door. The two of them walked the same way back that they had come - Eve stopping only shortly to put her belongings into her carriage - and found themselves back in the festive garden, the smell of oils causing Evangeline to feel slightly dizzy before she adjusted to it. She felt like she could use a drink.

The party looked nothing different from how they have left it. Eve figured that no one had noted her absence. And while she knew that her mother would have heard of her daughter's previously inappropriate attire, she hoped her change of heart would give her mother's anger a little rest. She was trying, more than usual, more than she had planned on doing.

Her eyes darted around to see if she could find any signs of the beginning tournament, perhaps even find Laurel standing in armor somewhere. But she couldn't spot anyone of her interest, the garden was too full of guests. The ginger woman hoped deeply that she would get a chance to talk to Princess Aamaya again, she would need to apologize and hopefully she would get a chance to make it right between them.

The live instrumental would come to a fading halt, music being replaced with overbearing chattering that would soon fall to curious whispers. A guard would present himself before the thrones, standing atop a makeshift wooden step to raise himself above the people ever so slightly. He would clear his throat before announcing the tournament and that it would be beginning very shortly. After his short speech explaining that it was merely for fun and that nobody would be injured, he would go onto to giving the rules of combat. No attacking of the head, all weapons are dulled to prevent fatal wounds, and anyone who inflicts damage that could prove to be deadly, will be prosecuted. He explained the warrior to deal the most damage, would be the victor. After the informative ramble, he would throw out a list of names, each warrior to be partaking in the battle and the Kingdom they represented. His words would stop, a bow following before the roar of trumpets would sound. Multiple guards would swarm in, motioning the guests to follow. They would lead the crowd of attendee's out of the gardens and main event area, through an archway and into a large arena very similar to what the Greeks used. The arena seated hundreds and hundreds of guests, its size enormous. There was an area with a sun-cover where anyone of royal blood was permitted to sit, the guards assuring each royal got to the designated area. The royals all sat among one another to discuss politics, the tournament, and anything else they saw fit. Once the guards had seated every guest, the trumpets would sound once more before two large doors that allowed access from the armories into the arena, would be heaved open. Warriors from each Kingdom would spill out, hyping the crowd with dramatic gestures and shouts, waving their weapons and shields about before lining up side by side in the middle of the arena to face the royals covered seating. The crowd was roaring with cheers and shouts, each Kingdom shrieking for their warrior or warriors to be victorious. Another set of Exodus guards would filter into the arena, setting up racks of weapons for the warriors to grab if their weapon were to break. Once the arena was prepared, the guards would exit once more, sealing the door shut behind them. Silence would be requested as the King and Queen of Exodus were introduced and then their daughter, the Princess. It was explained that the warriors would be fighting in order to impress the King, Queen, and their daughter. That each warrior was to put on the grandest show they could muster. The booming introduction would silence and the crowd would come to life once more with applaud and cheering. Platters of food held by servants would be offered to guests, alcoholic drinks served and brought to whomever requested. The arena was alive with laughter and excitement, the warriors below awaiting the signal for the brawling to begin...

Aamaya found herself being escorted to the arena, eyeing grand, circular mass of stone precise architecture. She was not a fan of the tournament, it wasn't even her idea after all.. If she had a choice, she wouldn't have even thrown the festival in the first place, while she loved the outcome and adored the beauty, she much preferred the calmness her Kingdom naturally had. The festival was all for her, for the opportunity to mend the hatred between Kingdoms, build alliances. She felt guilty not wanting to marry a stranger.. She felt as a Princess it was her duty to fulfill her parents wishes and bring peace within the Kingdoms. It was a lot to have on her plate, one side of her yearned for freedom to choose whomever she wanted to love, to marry someone she had a real connection with. While the more "polished" side of her wanted to abide by the rules and direction she was given. Aamaya heaved a thoughtful sigh, shuffling to a seat within the royal section of the arena. The seats here were much comfier, cushioned. She saw it slightly unfair for the guests to have to sit on stone, but shrugged the thought away, they were used to such things, too wrapped up in the tournament to even notice. She would glance towards her mother and father sat at the front row of the area, closest to the entertainment, another King and Queen from a separate Kingdom sat beside them. There were four rows within this section, six seats within each row. Aamaya chose to sit in the row furthest back, the view of the tournament still good but here, she would likely not have to mingle among the older King's and Queen's as well as her parents.

Her attention would shift to the arena as the warriors pooled in, a small smirking teasing at her features in response to their animated motions and shouting. She would soon be forced to stand, a reluctant groan slipping past her lips as her and her parents were introduced. Aamaya would perform a perfect curtsy, a large smile and delicate wave to the crowd of guests to follow. Once again she found her seat, resting her cheek against her fist absentmindedly. Music would fill the arena as preparations for the upcoming fighting began, warriors were given water and some time to practice swinging, while guests ordered their food and drinks to be brought to them on platters. Aamaya watched the commotion, eyeing each warrior carefully, examining their posture, build, and weapon of choice. Her attention would then move to the guests, now occupied with ordering, laughter and chatter mixing wonderfully with the soft lull of violins and harps.

Aamaya was far from excited, while she appreciated the effort and enjoyed the happiness this all brought the guests, she found no interest in watching these men and women attack one another forcefully, to impress her. Her eyes would flicker upwards as servant handed her a platter, a clear drink inside a flute glass atop it. She would smile weakly, fingers wrapping around the delicate stem of the glass before her lips found the rim. Alcohol was just what she needed, her mind was much too aware, the fuzziness and warmth the liquor offered was precisely what she needed. A half an hour would pass, drinks and food finally served to each guest who were now happily seated and ready for the event to begin. Aamaya would shift in her sit, moving to stand before gracefully sauntering down the aisle to the front of the royals seating area. She would stand at the balcony like edge that looked over the arena, her warriors all lined up anticipating her signal for them to begin. "Welcome, my courageous and strong warriors. I thank you for joining us today, for presenting my family and guests with your entertainment. I do hope you all do well, and please be very cautious of where you strike your opponent... Good luck to you all..." Aamaya spoke with such confidence, her head held high while she motioned towards her guests and fellow royals behind her. Once her words faded, she placed tender kiss upon her fingertips, blowing the kiss out towards the warriors below before smiling sweetly and then returning to her seat.

The crowd would erupt in cheers, drinks clinking, liquid splattering here and there. The music would shift from the soft lull previous, to a dramatic thunder of drums. A guard within the royal section, would heave a green flag fastened to a sturdy pole, over the edge and into the arena, waving it wildly to signal the tournament had begun. The music would continue to pound on through the arena as the warriors retrieved their weapons, circling one another menacingly, waiting for the first attack. The crowd grew quiet, eyes watching anxiously for the first strike...

Valeri Andora

Interacting with: @Aamaya

The pale girl, with a glass of rich purple wine, which was ever so sweet upon her lips, smiled gracefully as she remembered old faces and met with new ones as the party went on. Her time spent at Primfira parties and her upbringing, allowed her to mingle with really anyone, she didn't mind. The princess liked experiencing new things, whether it be people, stories, food or drink. Valeri had not learned of anything rather important since the time she had arrived, but she had been observing, putting faces to the names she knew of. She thought herself reliable on the current Kings, Queens, Princes, and Princesses of each kingdom, even the Mother and Father plus their ilk.

She had spotted most of the Exodus royals, including King Harold, who was as handsome as she thought and Queen Vivianne. The rumors of her youth were not lost upon Valeri, for she truly wondered whether blood could help keep the body young. She felt a little squeamish at the thought of her pale body being encircled by another's blood. But the sight of the Princess brought her back from that uncomfortable thought. Amaya wore such a beautiful dress, and she was even prettier then she had been told. She wondered why her parents would want to marry her off, it seemed like a waste of a bloodline. Then at last she spotted the enigma of the royal family, Thyrri she was called, cousin of the Princess but from what she could tell, different in all aspects. She seemed to be talking with another woman, a red haired girl, most likely Earthica but before she could see her face they vanished into the crowd, leaving Valeri wondering.

Her gaze turned to the other pair of oddities at the party, the Mother and the Father. She cared little for Luthra but why Exodus had invited them was beyond her, just something else to hold a grudge agaisnt. They weren't even a kingdom, rather a place where criminals went to live out the rest of their pitiful days. Yet, Valeri was impressed, for they seemed to hold their heads high, even in the face of what they would see as different. Angeline she knew more of, the cold woman was one she respected a little, but this new Father was unknown to her, other then the fact he had arrived and killed the previous father, just to take his place. Once again, Valeri wondered what they were thinking, what, if anything, they were planning.

Valeri took another drink of her wine, remembering an age old proverb about the Andorian people, something about being akin to a cockroach. She smiled, though it was silly to think of herself, or her people, as cockroaches, there was a certain truth to it. Her people, especially those with a knack for less.. favorable work, were everywhere, throughout the kingdoms. The Andora royals would be the first ones to know of any gossip, any lie, any truth, any potential threat- before anyone else. Call it a survival mechanism from the days of old, for when closest to the fire, it is most wise to be the one with a plan of escape. Intelligence was having information, and information was power in the game she played, her spies knew this.

She wondered how Azi- but before she could finish her thought a guard announced that a tournament was taking place. She frowned slightly, before returning to her usual smile. She hadn't even met any of the other Princes or Princesses yet, and already a tournament was taking place? How inconvenient, she didn't really care much for fighting. She knew it was necessary most times, but she never wanted in part in it.

She followed the crowd, being escorted by a couple of Primfira guards to the arena. It was certainly a sight to behold, and she found herself a little jealous that Primfira did not have one to compare. After awhile she found herself in the royal section, with plush chairs and a fine view. The Earthica King and Queen, who she had missed earlier, sat in the front with the rest of the royals and their children, all left to fend for themselves. After talking with her parents for awhile the tournament was about to begin. She noticed Princess Amaya, rise and give a lovely speech for the crowd, she truly was everything Valeri had been told about. She watched as the Princess took a seat near the back, and with a confident stride, she went over to make her acquaintance.

She gave a curtsy before the Princess, before speaking, "Princess Amaya! It is so good to finally meet you! I am Valeri Andora, of Primfira." She paused, finishing her curtsy, and rising to her full height. She spoke to Amaya again in a calm voice, "I must say, I liked that speech, it was very.. Confident." Valeri then smiled warmly at Amaya before continuing, "What a wonderful festival so far, I rather enjoyed the selection of wine at the party. I had no idea Exodus had such wonderful alcohol." She then took a seat next to the Princess, "I hope you don't mind me sitting next to you, please let me know if I should leave, I've just been dying to finally meet you." Valeri's voice then dropped to a whisper, "Also, between you and me, I don't much care for fighting. It's the blood, makes me a bit sick."

Dalious listened as the names were announced. "Dalious Durendail of Luthra, bodyguard to prince Melchior!..." and then the speaker continued down the list.

"Captain! He forgot to say Captain! Captain Dalious Durendail damn you!" Dalious shouted in anger, flinging his arms up. He took a few sips of his rum in his flask, then calmed back down. The selected few to serve Luthra stood next to him, all of them rugged and with hardened looks.

"Fuck the rules," one of them spouted. "I say we do things our way, show 'em what Luthra's all about."

"If you do that, mate, I'll have to put you down myself," he told him while tapping the hilt of his sheathed weapon. They all wore the same armor, the symbol of Luthra crested on the chest plates. Even still they were hardly a team, it was near impossible to form a strategy with such. "Mother and Father are here."

"You're too drunk to fight, fool," he replied. "You've been drinking yourself stupid this entire time when we've been practicing."

"All of those things are true," Dalious agreed with a pointed finger. "Even still, I'm in my prime."

The next moment the Earthicans joined them in the walkway area, while the other kingdoms would come out from the other ends. The fighters from Luthra turned in displeasure, becoming silent as the crowds poured into the arena and the seats filled. Dalious took a glance at them, however, not being impressed like his team. It was when he saw the female amongst them that made him pause in his thoughts, she was hidden behind their biggest warrior. Dalious pranced over to them and gave a warm smile with a half wave.

Just as he approached her, the rules were being announced for all to hear from an echoed voice. Dalious nodded in agreement to the rule of no striking the head. "No touching of the hair or face, that's all I cared for anyway," he randomly said, combing his hair back with his hand. "Listen, love, they didn't tell me any women were fighting in this. It's pirate code for me not to strike one, especially one as fair as you. So, I must forfeit."

He bowed to her, but as the gates opened they were ushered out. "Well, nevermind then!" he tried to tell her but the sounds of the audience was booming. People were yelling and cheering, booing and stomping as the fighters took their place amongst the sand. Dalious raised two dulled swords in either hand as the cheering went on for them all, it was hard not to like the feeling.

He noted the warriors around him and their weapons of choice. Those with the armor of exodus seemed to prefer spears and shields, gaining the advantage of distance. Some of the earthicans carried heavy weapons, most of them looked slow but devastating. Save for the girl, of which he heard from the speaker was the bodyguard for their princess, Laurel Mith. There were many princesses here it seemed, with the princess of Exodus coming forward and delivering her final words. Dalious was to busy in thinking up a strategy in his mind to really hear what she was saying, but he did note that she was beautiful.

Suddenly the green flagged waved and it had begun. Those with the blood of Thanatos ran forward, striking any who would meet them head on. Many met in the center of the arena pit, while Dalious stayed on one end and awaited. It wasn't long before an Exodus fighter came for him, jabbing and stabbing his long weapon at the pirate. Dalious kept him at bay, using both of his swords in defense. He deflected what he could, rolling and dodging out of the way of quicker strikes. Rolling toward the attacker at an angle, he was able to grasp ahold of his spear, while simultaneously he tripped the man with a leg from behind. As he fell, Dalious brought down his weapon and clanked it hard against his chestplate, it dented and signified that he was out. "Not today, mate."

His team was winning, as they all but one took out many from the main battle. They retreated together, then spotted the woman bodyguard taking out others, her attention seemed to be away from them. They rushed toward her, the nearest raising his sword to strike her head from behind. Dalious deflected the blow, as he ran in just in time. He knocked the attackers weapon out from his grasp, spinning around and striking him at his shoulder. The strike knocked him to the ground as Dalious' other teammates started swinging wildly at him, backing him closer to Laurel. One by one Dalious knocked them all down, in few movements he had his team lying on the floor aching in pain. He breathed a sigh of relief after he had downed his own men, not realizing there were many still fighting.

Turning to Laurel, he kept his weapons held low and he smiled as if he did her some grand favor. "Impressed?" he asked, being distracted in the moment. He looked back at his men on the floor, giving her the perfect opportunity to take him out if she wanted. "They never could deal with a southpaw, poor chaps."

Thyrri and Aziza

Thyrri left Eve when the guard announced the tournament beginning. Although she could go and sit with other royals in the luxurious area, she had no desire to do so. After all, she didn’t truly belong there. She snuck away from the crowd and into one of the tight service corridors, nearly knocking a large plate with empty glasses out of one poor servant’s hands. Mumbling an apology, she headed for the contestant entrance to the arena, where all the technical background for the tournament was located, including the infirmary. No matter the rules, there were always more or less serious injuries when men started to hit each other’s heads with sticks. The room was on the ground level, and had tiny windows below the ceiling, originally designed just for air circulation, but if you stood on one of the chairs, you could very well see the inside of the arena. The tournament hasn’t started yet, the contestants were just hailing the royal families. Thyrri sighed. Such unnecessary violence.

Aziza was feeling tense. She had nothing to do, which definitely wasn’t a normal state for her. There were no new orders, even her alter ego Parull didn’t have any tasks at hand, since the guests were still on the party and haven’t started using their rooms yet. For now, she wandered the hallways, doing her best to appear busy, spying out for any potentially useful information. It was only luck that she caught a glimpse of something unusual – the Earthica princess, Evangeline, walking the hallways with a member of Exodus royalty, holding hands. Aziza followed them until they disappeared in the private section of the palace, one she could not officially get into. She had tried before, but apparently the guards knew every servant who was allowed entrance and didn’t let anyone else through. Aziza could kill the guard easily, but hiding the body was annoying and the missing man could draw unnecessary attention while she was supposed to stay undercover.

There was another way in though, not as simple, but much more fun. She turned back to the stables and snuck into one of the empty boxes. The loose plank was still in the place, her hiding place remained undiscovered. She took a small package out and double checked that no one was watching her as she put the plank back in place. The air was clear, except for a horse from the adjacent box, who put his head over the railing, hoping she would give him an apple. Aziza patted his head, whispering, “You’ll get one when I get back.”

The yard with carriages was empty and Aziza took the advantage of it and causally walked towards one of the less-decorated ones, entering it without looking around, almost as it belonged to her. Inside she quickly stripped off her dress, sighing in relief as she could strip the stupid Parull masquerade off with it. She put on her normal dark leather outfit, strapped the dagger to her thigh and a bandoleer with throwing knives across her chest. Carefully folding the dress, she stuck it under the seat in the carriage and snuck out like a ghost she now was.

The front wall of the palace private section was well lit, but Aziza used the shadows on the yard to move beyond the corner unseen. From there she started climbing the wall like a giant dark spider. She reached the roof safely, crouching and continuing on all four. Although she never personally visited this part of the palace, she had talked with other maids and servants, which gave her an approximate idea of the layout. As she got above Thyrri’s room, she started to climb down to its window slowly, careful not to make any sound. She was able to overhear most of the conversation the women had, while hanging on the wall by her fingers, slightly disappointed that it wasn’t anything more interesting. But still, even the information of those two flirting with each other could be potentially useful.

After they left the room, Aziza crawled in and looked around. The room was pretty spartan for a member of Exodus royalty, save the opulent dress hanging in the corner. Aziza bent down and picked something shiny off the ground, smirking as she recognized a hairpin with a few strings of red hair still stuck in it. Hiding it away in one of her pockets she listened beyond the door for a few moments. Originally, she considered taking a look around the palace, since she was already here, but she wasn’t exactly inconspicuous in her current attire and she could hear several people walking the hallway. She turned back to the window and climbed to the roof, smiling happily. This was what she was trained to do, born to do even.

She took a peek into princess Aamaya’s quarters and also the king’s and queen’s but didn’t have enough time to search through them properly, so she didn’t find out anything useful, other than Aamaya’s favorite bath oils and perfumes. Aziza tried to save every fine detail into her memory for future use before heading back.

Some time later, again as smiling and friendly Parull, she was bringing drinks and food to the common guests in the arena. She could see Primfira king and queen in the royal section and also princess Valeri, chatting with Aamaya. Aziza didn’t show any sign that she noticed them, but her heart rejoiced from finally seeing her king. Perhaps now things will get moving a bit.

Laurel Mith

@Sol Grim

If not for the comforting weight of the hefty axe in her armoured hand, Laurel might have felt nervous as she joined the other Earthican warriors, lining up alongside the Luthran entrants to the tournament. She always felt calmer with a weapon in her hand, even if it were merely the hunting dagger she kept in her belt at all times, the notion of protection a soothing influence upon her nerves; it was why she always carried her bow with her, where possible. The other warriors engaged in their usual pre-battle rituals, praying or drinking or carrying out some superstitious 'lucky' chant or action. Laurel had none of these, she had been taught not to bother with such acts as they often distracted one from the upcoming battle; leaving matters to luck and fortune was a fast way to get killed. At least in this battle failure should not mean death, with all of the weapons blunted as they were.

Not distracted by any preoccupation as she was, Laurel caught sight of the Luthran man swaggering towards her. He had the quiet confidence about him a seasoned warrior possessed and she noted his face for future reference although whatever he had been planning to say to her was interrupted by the announcer going through the rules of the tournament. The restriction of attacks to the head made sense, she conceded, especially in light of the fact few had been given the option to wear a helmet and she was glad for this; the plate was constricting enough and a metal helmet would merely add to the stifling feel of the armour.

"Listen, love, they didn't tell me any women were fighting in this. It's pirate code for me not to strike one, especially one as fair as you. So, I must forfeit." Before she could respond the gates opened and they were ordered out into the arena and whatever else he said was lost to her ears as she filed out with the other Earthican warriors. The Princess, the very beautiful woman Laurel had seen talking to Eve earlier, spoke to them and wished them luck before the fighting commenced.

Perhaps unwisely, the Earthican troupe split away and went after enemies on their own. Apart from the Luthrans it appeared that most of the other warriors were engaging similarly, the Exodus challengers especially appeared to be used to the art of duelling and became flustered when presented with multiple enemies. Laurel, for her part, felled three Primfirans in quick succession as they came for her one at a time although with barely any space to breathe between them with sharp blows to the chest with her axe while knocking aside their flailing attacks with her shield. Vibrations from each blow, both given and taken, ricocheted up her arms but the armour supported and cushioned her and besides, she could feel the difference in physical strength between her and these warriors who had only trained with the sword or spear while she had been learning the art of the bow for her entire adult life and much of her childhood as well; the muscle power of a bowwoman was not something to be trifled with.

An Exodus warrior tried to take her from the side, sliding a spear toward her chest but she batted the point aside with her axe before slamming her shield into the man's chest. Knocked from his feet, the man lost hold of his spear as he hit the ground heavily in a mild daze. Taking advantage, Laurel stomped on the man's already slightly buckled breastplate until it was sufficiently dented for him to be called from the field, defeated.

She paused for a moment, taking stock of the field and barely noticed the swarm of Luthran's sweeping toward her. They were on her before she had time to react and a sword came swinging for the back of her head despite the prohibition on such a move. Ducking, she started to bring her shield round but knew there would not be time and instinctively stepped back to try and avoid the blow. Would it be enough? Time seemed to slow as she saw the blade reaching for her and she realised that she had not been fast enough, the attack already in motion before she had even noticed the opponents bearing down on her.

The man from earlier, the one who smelt strongly of alcohol, dived deftly into the gap and deflected the blow and made short work of his fellows with an impressive display of skill and strength. "Impressed?" He asked, being distracted in the moment, looking down at his fallen countrymen and exposing himself to attack. If Laurel were less scrupulous she might have taken the opportunity but it was not in her nature, nor would it be wise with the eyes of so many royals watching. Eve, surely, would not approve and she would most definitely be somewhere in the crowd; Laurel had not had the time to search those seated in the royal box for her face but was confident her friend would be up there. "They never could deal with a southpaw, poor chaps."

"You do realise that we're opponents in this tournament, don't you?" She asked, bodily pulling him to the side to swing widely at a charging Exodus warrior, hurling the man back and snapping the haft of her trusty axe in the process. She tossed the useless weapon aside, kicking up a short sword one of the Luthran's had dropped. "And that the Mother and Father are watching?" She did not know much of Luthran politics, nor much of any politcs for that matter, but she knew enough to know that the rulers of Luthran were here and would only bother showing up if they wanted to engage in the festival's opportunities and that started with this blasted brawl in the arena.

"I suppose if you're dead set against 'striking' me then we can avoid one another and if we're the last two standing you can, being of a gentlemanly nature, concede the battle." Without waiting for agreement she set off toward a melee between a dozen or so warriors reaching its climax and forced her way in, laying about with shield and sword. The unfamiliar weapon proved ineffective and she swapped it for one of her opponent's maces after pulling it free from his surprised grip and then turned it against him, hammering the side of his armour while heaving one of his fellows bodily off his feet with a shield bash and then finishing the job with a mace blow to the chest. It was a good weapon for the rules of the tournament and she made short work of the combatants facing her, some making the false assumption that a woman would not be of any threat to their prospects of victory and paying for it with an abrupt end to their tournament participation.

The field was thinning out to a small number of remaining foes and Laurel took stock, taking measured breaths to calm herself. In such a place she could not let herself lose to battle frenzy. Without helmets anyone coming across her in such a state would stand no chance and she refused to be the one who caused an incident at such an important event. She did not feel tired, yet, from her exertions as she had not followed the example of many others running around the arena to find a suitable enemy and instead had let them come to her. The weight of the armour did bear down on her shoulders but it was nothing compared to the effort of releasing arrows from a full sized warbow until her fingers bled from the pulling of the string. Much longer and she may become slower as it took its toll but for now she still felt energetic, the thrill of battle rushing through her veins.

Adjusting her grip on the mace she set off at a walking pace toward the next gathering of combatants, watching their movements before charging into the midst of it all.

Exodus truly was a place of overflowing, excessive luxury. It was not the first time that Erasmi had visited the city and nor would it be his last but the first impression he had gained of the place as a young man had not changed. Primfira had its own fashions and exaggerations born of leftover wealth but not in this almost zealous expenditure the people of Exodus seemed determined to adhere to. With their scents and oils, added to their unholy love of bathing in and drinking of blood, always others', he always wondered that they had yet to fall to ruin.

Then his mind and intellect would admonish his personal distaste, pointing out their expansive populace and shrewd finance had given them a strong starting position from which they had only advanced to greater strength. Infighting had crippled Primfira in the early race for power and it had only begun its recovery under his rule, many of his greatest achievements brought about by copying the traits of Exodus he found had merit with a particular regard to their pride as a race. The manner of Erasmi's own rise rise to power had encouraged youths after him to train and become strong, perhaps not to the standard of the naturally powerful Levonian people but enough to raise his nation's status.

He freed his mind of the analysis of times past, this was not a time for such philosophy when the present affair would be crucial to the shaping of the future. With that focus in mind, Erasmi ascended the steps and entered the royal box in the arena. He gaze coolly, calmly over those gathered there with their attention focused on the combatants below. Some of his own warriors fought down there but he had no hopes of victory but the experience would be invaluable to them later so he had encouraged the eager amongst his guard to enter the contest. He had no need of protection right then, after all if anyone was to make trouble it would be himself or the Luthrans and the latter looked to have sent many of their own force into the battle also.

With a wry smile, quickly smothered, he saw Valeri engaging the focus of this festival, the incredibly desirable Princess Amaya, in conversation. The girl worked fast and he had no doubt that he would soon 'discover' his daughter to be a close confidant of the Freyjan Princess. That or her secret lover, depending on which way her desires took her; once she had made a decision the Andoran Princess would get her way one way or another with her infallible guile.

The King turned his attention toward the other royals in the box and made his entrance, his Queen would join them when she so desired, and stepped to the front row where the Freyjan monarchs were seated. Whether or not those particular chairs had been reserved for the hosts of the festival mattered not to him, Erasmi would not allow himself to be considered second although he gave the two a polite bow.

"Your Majesties, I am afraid I must apologise for my late entrance. My guard were rather paranoid over the multitudes your generosity has attracted." A bald faced lie, they had been busy sending disguised groups to places around the city to gather intelligence, but the royals had no reason to believe otherwise. "I confess, I am struck with admiration at the festivities you have manufactured today; your daughter truly has learned well." Without invitation he seated himself next to the Freyjan king, relaxing into the seat. "I wait with bated breath for what other surprises you have in store for our entertainment." He smiled coolly, a polite expression that had little to no genuine warmth in it, before turning to pretend interest in the melee below.

ULTFIC

Ultfic examined the poster that his friend was holding weight in front of his face. Taking it he looked more closely. Truth be told he had been waiting for the tournament. Today seemed to be just a starting round and would mainly be a warm up for most fighters. With a wide smile he said with a puffed up chest “of course, what kind of question is that?” he handed the flyer back to Solveig as he turned to the King. “Sir with your permission I would like to enter in these fights and prove we are the best and are not to be trifled with and hopefully knock everyone down a peg or two.” after gaining an encouraging yes he quickly went to the nearest guard and promptly signed himself up.
Ultfic was lead by one of the guards to the staging area for all the fighters to get dressed in their armor and be given weapons. As he was inspecting the equipment two female ladies walked up to him giving him a small bow before saying “We are here to help you sir Ultfic.” He turned around a little surprised by them being right behind him. Giveing a bow of his own he replied “Terrible sorry ladies I didn't see you there.” raising his head he looked again as they had brought before him armor and a sword for the use in the tournament. As he changed out of his normal attire which was mostly leather he accepted the chain shirt they offered along with the steel arm guards. After inspecting himself he settled that would be adequate protection figuring anything more would slow him down to much. Turning to the two young ladies still waiting for him he asked “Would by chance have any type of face paint preferably green?” looking at each other for a moment one went off before returning with a small jar of green paint as she handed it to Ultfic. “Thank you.” he said as he took the jar and gave them his belongings to watch over. Just as they were about to leave he stopped them “Here you go this is for your troubles.” he said as he reached into the coin pouch that was hidden under the cloths he had just given them. Pulling several coins he handed each of them a decent amount and asked if they could take his thing to his assigned room. Looking in the mirror he dipped his fingers in the jar of paint. Make sure to do so with care he applied one line above his right eye with another two lines below it. Being satisfied with the results he set down the jar as he walked towards the exit with the rest of the warriors.

As he joins them at the gate many of the Earthicans were chanting and conducting a variety of other rituals which were common for his people. Grabbing his fellow kings guard he dragged them to the center of the cluster as they formed a circle by linking arms over one another's shoulder. Each of them began shifting side to side as they began chanting/ singing a sort of old warrior song. Almost perfectly timed, the doors leading out into the great arena opened just as the song ended as all the Earthican guards gave out a mighty roar as the marched out into the field clanging their weapons together. Ultfic himself slammed his sword into the shield a couple times before sticking his hands out and yelling out to the crowd which caused a massive roar from the section closest to him.

After all the contestants entered into the center they were greeted by a speech form the princess and were given the rules that were to be followed. She then went on to introduce the more prominent fighters from each of the nations. He took note of some high class individuals were currently in the arena with him. Summing, he was quite glad to hear this hoping that he could beat them personally to submit his people's place as the best. To his surprise Laurel had also joined them in the arena. He had seen her in passing in the palace but nothing really more. He knew she could handle herself but this seemed out of her normal realm being that she had a lack of arrows on her back. He snapped out of this thought when he heard his name being called out as the captain of the Earthicans. Upon hearing this some of the other competitors gave him looks both of slight fear and of hatred. ‘Well this will make things interesting’. He thought to himself.

Once the flag dropped and the fight began he saw many fighters charge out into combat. It was quite clear that Luthrans, and Earthica were in there element amongest the chaos of battle. The Exodus warriors were not very comfortable with the idea of a full on brawl and seemed to prefer one on one dueling. Scanning the battlefield a bit more he saw one of his men be attacked by three armed men with spears. Running up behind them Ultfic slammed his shield into the back of the knee causing the man to collapse. Spinning around as he moved closer making sure the spear that was incoming was brushed off on his shield he pushed forward slamming into the man head on taking them both to the ground. The distraction was enough to allow the other guard to strike the last Exodus warrior eliminating all three. Getting back to his feet Ultfic nodded his head at the guard before heading off back into the heat of combat.

Continuing forward he fought in a contradictory style that was his people's stereotype. Most Earthicans used large weapons and used there much larger size to overpower their opponents. Ultfic rather, preferred to use more speed and waited for opening in his opponent's attack. Looking across the field he saw a Luthran helping out Laurel from his own people no less. “What is that about.” he said allowed to himself as he dodged an incoming strike spinning around and slamming his sword into the assailants back.

Looking around he realized that he had been surrounded by a group of Exodus warriors all slowly closing spears at the ready. Dropping down once again into his stance behind his shield he yelled “well come on then, don't let me die of old age!”

Klaus would study the Queen, watching as she sauntered off with the King of Exodus, Harold. He grew bitter, clenching his jaw in frustration. Was she putting on a show for him? Trying to learn secrets from the other King? Or was there something else, more sinister brewing behind the scenes he was unaware of. The Earthica King caught the simple touches, the small but intimate gestures the two dancing shared. He could feel the blood inside his veins boiling with every movement the pair made... His glare would soon break as Antonette moved back towards him, the next song beginning. Her tone was sweet, expression curious and light as she glanced up towards him. Klaus would snap his attention towards her arm hooking around his, his jaw clenching once more. "Am I enjoying it?
Ah.. Yes my Queen.. I am lavishing in the fact that you can't keep your hands to yourself. I want a proper wife, not a harlot you can find in a nearby brothel."
Klaus sneered aggressively, yanking his arm away in the roughest manner he could muster up without hurting her too badly. The man was a loose canon, his temper something that could not be predicted. He would shake his head, rubbing between his eyes before finding his way towards the bar. He would get himself some liquor, downing a shot or two before another voice caught his attention. "A tournament? Why the hell not! Prove to these Exodus bastards we are capable of taking them down..." The King would chuckle, swaying slightly from the alcohol he had consumed. Just as the small trio had finished discussing the tournament, a booming voice and then trumpets, followed by everyone being shuffled out of the gardens and into the arena, would alert them that the tournament would soon begin. The King found his seat among the other royals, saving a place beside him for his Queen although his opinion of her was currently poor. He would order himself an alcoholic beverage and a small turkey leg, both served on a golden platter. He would much his food and sip his drink tediously, awaiting the start of the event.

Once the Exodus Princess had finished her speech, Klaus made sure to ogle the young girl, attempting to receive a sour reaction from his wife. The man grinned to himself, shifting to a slouch in his seat, clearly intoxicated beyond his limit. The green flag would soon wave proudly, signalling the warriors to begin. Klaus watched with glossy eyes, his attention slightly foggy, but aware enough to understand his Kingdom was fighting well. He watched as Laurel and Ultfic ferociously downed their opponents, moving through them like domino's. However, his proud expression and comfortable slouch would soon shift. King Klaus sat upright, catching onto the Luthra warrior and Laurel's little interaction.. How dare she, a Levonian warrior... succumbing to feel empathy for a Thanatos.. The man huffed out a agitated sigh, large fingers grasping the seats armrests.

There were few warriors left from each Kingdom, but his eyes were intensely glued to to Laurel, waiting for her to strike the Luthra man, teeth gritting together. "Do you see this Antonette? Our warrior... The female, allowing a Thanatos to stay in the battle?" It was obvious he was beginning to fume, the alcohol encouraging the elevated anger. He would glance over at his Queen, a simple shake of his head and deep sigh being thrown in her direction. "Blasphemy! This is punishable my Queen... I will have Laurel knelt down and whipped for this.. Helping our sworn enemies.. Ha!" A faked chuckle would follow his whispered rant, assuring the other royals didn't hear his disappointment.

"You do realise that we're opponents in this tournament, don't you?"

"Aye, I do." Dalious stood still and watched as the earthican made quick work of an incoming attacker. He took the time to quickly take a shot from his flask, almost choking when she mentioned the Mother and Father. Putting the flask back on his belt, he winced while he cleared his throat. "I'm sure I'll make them proud, it's not actually them I'm interested in...how are you?"

"I suppose if you're dead set against 'striking' me then we can avoid one another and if we're the last two standing you can, being of a gentlemanly nature, concede the battle."

Dalious just stared as she ran off and joined the ongoing fight. "What a woman." Finally Dalious was noticed, as a Primfiran ran up to him and started swinging and twirling an axe as if he were a tornado. Dalious backed and swayed, quickly identifying his repeat movements. When the opening was presented, he came in with both swords swung together at his chestplate. The Primfiran took the blow while in a mid air swing, the impact knocking him forcefully to the sand.

While the Primfiran caught his breath, Dalious noticed one of the mercenaries from his own team was just now walking out of the arena. He walked over closer to Dalious on his way out. "You're a disgrace to Luthra, but good job." The mercenary walked up with a hand to embrace in fair contest, of which Dalious gladly accepted. Then the mercenary pulled him in closer for a hug, stabbing him with a shiv just under the armor plate where there was no protection. It was discrete and relatively unseen by most. Dalious winced, though held in the pain as it was just as quickly pulled out. "An eye for an eye, Melchior can't always be around to save your ass. Goodluck."

"I'll kill you for this,"Dalious replied, holding it together for the sake of the show.

"Don't come back home," was all he said, as he walked away toward the exit tunnel.

The adrenaline and the liquor helped to mask some of the sharp pain at his side, though he could tell it was deep. Now moving at a bit of a stagger, he made way for the exit himself. However it wasn't long before a few of the last combatants came toward him to take him out.

"Time out? Parlay. I forfeit, mate. I don't want to play your stupid game anymore." Dalious tossed his weapons to the ground.

An exodus warrior charged in at the pirate, swinging a large mace toward him. "Fuck it..." He closed his eyes and took the blow, it knocking him back and to the ground. His entire body was ringing from it, now the pain settling well all over. Spitting out some blood, Dalious nodded to the warrior as he moved on and joined the rest of his remaining team to take out one of the earthicans.

Limping off the field, Dalious pushed people out of his way as he went past them all. A servant looked on him with a worried expression, though said nothing. He grabbed the wine she was serving and chugged it down. "Another! Quickly!" His blood was now spilling on the floor, and the farther he walked the darker things became. "Find me a healer would you? And more wine! Not necessarily in that order." he told the servant before taking one last shot, then passing out face first onto a wooden table that broke in two.

Thyrri was busy in the infirmary, but fortunately not as busy as in her pessimistic expectations. Yes, there had been injuries, but most of them were just small cuts and bruises. She was just finishing examining one of the Exodus warriors, who had one huge bruise across his chest. Thyrri’s fingers were carefully touching man’s ribs, gently pressing here and there, while the man’s eyes were tight shut and he gritted his teeth. “Well, it seems that at least three of them are broken, but on the bright side, they all seem to be in the right place and none of them pierced your lungs or any other organs. How did this even happen to you?” She only had time to watch the beginning of the tournament, before the first contestants with light wounds started coming in. Of course, there was the official doctor, Abhay, designated for the arena, but Thyrri didn’t trust that guy. All too often, some of the wounded disappeared without a trace, or suddenly died from massive loss of blood while their injuries weren’t life-threatening.

One of the young girls that served as assistant brought her a wide and long bandage. “All right, sit up and hold your arms up a bit,” she directed the warrior and started wrapping his chest tightly.

“It was that woman, she caught me off guard,” the man mumbled, biting his lip.

“Just take short breaths, it will hurt less. What woman?” As far as Thyrri knew, there was only one woman in the tournament, Eve’s bodyguard Laurel.

The warrior confirmed her suspicion. “That bloody redhead. She fights like a beast.”

Thyrri finished the bandage and forced the man to lay back down, ordering one of the assistants to bring him some water and a light snack. She didn’t even have time to look out of the tiny window to see if Laurel is still up and all right. Eve would be devastated should something happen to her. Another Exodus warrior was brought in on a stretcher, squirming and holding his knee. ‘Wow, they are really getting beaten up, what a shame for our majestic kingdom,’ she thought before rushing towards the man, wiping her hands into a large leather apron she was wearing over her dress.

Quick glance on the new patient revealed that his knee was dislocated. When Thyrri tried to push man’s hands away from the wounded knee, he just squealed and shook his head in horror, desperately trying to push himself away from her. “Hey! Get it together! It’s bad enough that you lost in the tournament and now you are going to disgrace your country by acting like a baby?” she hissed at him, trying to get his attention. She didn’t like being mean to a suffering person, but sometimes there was just no other way to get to them through the pain.

The man sobbed, but his hands let go of the knee, grabbing the sides of the stretcher. “I… apologize, m-my lady. But the… Earthicans… they fight like w-wild animals. And the Luthrans… even worse.” He shut his eyes and bit his lip so hard that a small stream of blood appeared running down his cheek.

“Well, they’ve had to fight much harder for their survival than we did,” Thyrri whispered, more to herself than to the warrior. “Open your mouth and bite on this,” she pushed a thick piece of leather between his teeth and started to examine the knee. It was already badly swollen, and the sinews contracted, she had to act fast to put it back into the right position. “You two, hold him, and you, grab his ankle,” she summoned one of the men who brought the stretcher in. “When I tell you to, you will pull quickly with all the strength you have, and twist it a bit in this direction, understand?” Thyrri moved to the patient’s knee and laid her hands on its sides, ready to press on it to make sure everything slides to the right place. “All right, one, two, three!” Luckily her new assistant had been strong enough and the joint returned to its original shape with a creepy clack. The man squealed into his gag, his body arching up and then passed out from the pain. Thyrri sighed with relief, everything appeared to be all right.

She glanced at Abhay, who was just tending to a man with a broken arm, a member of the Primfira delegation by the looks of him. She slid down to one of the chairs in the room, not even interested in the tournament anymore, just wanting to close her eyes for a moment. But a moment was all she was granted, as mere seconds later one of the maids ran into the infirmary, yelling about someone needing a doctor. Thyrri quickly jumped to her feet, her weariness forgotten for now.

The man was unconscious on the ground, which wasn’t a surprise given by the pool of blood around him. He had some bruises and smaller cuts from falling down, but the blood came from a small wound in his abdomen. “Fuckin hell...” Thyrri couldn’t help herself but to be furious. “Get him on the table, now! Dulled weapons? Just for fun? When the fuck will they learn that this is not a damn game?” she gritted her teeth as the assistants transported the man.

“Get him out of the armor,” she commanded and checked the man’s pulse, which was weak, but regular. One of the girls skillfully cut the strings holding pieces of the armor together and removed the breastplate. The small cut would have looked almost innocent had it not been for the dark blood pouring from it in small waves, slower and slower, as his pulse was slowing down. Thyrri quickly cleaned the wound the best she could and grabbed a scalpel, attempting to widen it a bit so she could check the situation inside. If the blade had pierced on the man’s organs, like his liver, or even penetrated his intestines, there was very little she could do. With this volume of blood lost, the body couldn’t recover from such trauma. But so far it seemed that only one of the veins had been disrupted. She gritted her teeth. It was too small to stitch up and too big to close on its own.

“He is going to die anyway,” Abhay stood next to her, frowning at the patient. “And he is a Luthran scum,” he pointed to the sign on the breastplate. “Not worth wasting your time on, my lady,” he added, bowing his head down to hide an ironic smile.

Thyrri ignored him, concentrated on the task at hand. She put some thin metallic bars into fire burning in a small fireplace, normally used to boil water. While their tips slowly turned red, she did her best to clean the wound from all the dirt and dust from the arena and most of the blood. When the bars were ready, she used them to cauterize both ends of severed vein, sealing them shut and finally stopping the blood from pouring out. She did her best to stich the wound. It was going to leave a scar, a small price for being alive if you asked her.

When she made sure the patient is taken care of, moved to one of the separate rooms, she could finally let her anger take over. A sturdy clay mug on the table was just what she needed, grabbing it so tight her ankles turned white and smashing it against Abhay’s head, for a moment not caring whether it would hurt or even kill him. “How DARE YOU call yourself a doctor, you worthless parasite?!” she yelled, throwing the rest of the mug away and grabbing a scalpel. Abhay stared at her, petrified, water mixed with a bit of his own blood dripping from the top of his head. As she moved closer to him, he took a step back, his back pressed against the wall. “I am warning you,” she hissed, her face just inches away from his, the scalpel resting on his neck. “If that man dies or he happens to disappear mysteriously, I will personally make sure that you follow him right away, do you understand?”

Abhay tried to nod vigorously, making the scalpel pierce his skin and forcing a single drop of blood out. “Y-yes, my lady. I would never…” he stuttered, but she interrupted him.

“Save me your pathetic excuses. And remember,” she stepped away from him, “right now you could provide the royal family with much more blood than he could. And you know there is never enough of it. Hey, you,” she turned to one of the assistants, a young petite girl, who stared at Thyrri with horror. The healer realized that she was still holding the scalpel and was covered in blood. She forced her fingers to let go of the sharp object. “You will go and find the Mother or Father of Luthra, preferably both. You can hardly miss them. Tell them one of their men had been injured and it would be in his best interest should they come and check up on him. Will you remember that?” The girl just nodded and darted out of the room. Thyrri threw one last angry look at Abhay and walked away.

She quickly moved through nearly empty service hallways of the arena to the spa area. There was a large pool of warm water, meant for the gladiators and other warriors to wash off sweat and dirt after the fights. The room was empty for now, but Thyrri probably wouldn’t notice if there was a crowd staring at her. She quickly took her clothes off, tearing through the precious fabric, her fingers shaking as she put her hair up before entering the water. She washed the blood off at one of the drains, her whole body shaking as she watched the pink water disappearing. ‘What the hell was that?’ she could hardly think. This was nothing like her normal self, getting so furious, wanting to hurt or even kill someone.

It was only the sound of tears dropping into the water that made her realize she was crying. ‘I can never get away from this. No matter what I do or where I go, I will still be a part of this barbaric kingdom, where some people’s lives are only worth the blood running through their veins.’ But what could she do? She was not a fighter, not even a brave person and she realized now. She was a simple coward, closing her eyes from this whole business for years, looking the other way as if it didn’t concern her. Her eyes shut tight, she enjoyed the quiet sound of water splashing against the walls, having no idea what to do now.

Unimpressed eyes would carefully watch the battle, while she respected the skill both Earthica and Luthra warriors had, she knew the entire tournament had been rigged. How easily the Kingdoms had fallen to the ploy, sending their greatest warriors out into an arena to be battered and bruised. Exodus wouldn't dare send their best into such a mess, it was a reckless move. Risking the well-being of their warriors was not something Exodus would do unless it were entirely necessary. Aamaya heaved a disinterested sigh, the fighting was blasé, she could never wrap her head around the amusement it brought people. What was so intriguing about men and women throwing themselves at one another? Nothing, that's what. It was senseless violence for the sake of entertainment. It injured good warriors, used up resources, and wore the medical staff down.

The sudden presence of another would catch Aamaya's attention, her eyes shifting to follow the Primfira Princess's figure as she offered a respectable curtsy and then sat herself beside the Exodus Princess. She would smile briskly, examining the other princess quietly while spoke. The woman was beautiful, Aamaya had met Andorian people many times, the Kingdom of Primfira no stranger to Exodus. The two Kingdom's often traded, the higher-ups meeting regularly to discuss finances and things alike. Aamaya had traveled to Primfira countless times, often hooded and disguised from her title, but there nonetheless. She however, had never met Valeri, her vibrant personality sparking an interest in Aamaya. "Don't worry, sit there all you'd like Princess Valeri... I too have been awaiting our meeting one another. I have heard many things about you." The serpentine tongue the girl possessed would glide across her top teeth, head tilting curiously in Valeri's direction. "Fear of blood you say? Mmm... I do understand." Aamaya faked a empathetic pout before lifting the newly poured flute of alcohol she had been served, to her poised lips. The liquid began clear, spirals of deeply hued red trickling through the previously transparent drink, now tainted. After the small sip, Aamaya would look to the other Princess once more. "I don't mind blood, I rather like it actually... It's oddly beautiful, how it can be so hot within a body and so refreshingly cold when out. But the best form of the liquid is when it's on the skin... The wonders that crimson can do." The lithe brunette would grin now, obviously exaggerating in order to get under the other woman's skin.

The commotion within the arena would draw Aamaya in, watching as a Thanatos warrior stumbled out, blood pooling at his boot clad feet. Aamaya would emit a "tsk" while shaking her head, swiftly moving to a stand. "Injuries of that nature are strictly forbidden... I must apologize Princess Valeri, I have to cut this short and see what caused this. Maybe I will give the guests the show of a beheading tonight as well." A giggle would follow her harsh words, her humor clearly of dark decent. Without another word Aamaya would saunter off out of the royal's area within the stands. She would not confront her parents, if she were to become a Queen, rushing to these sorts of situations was crucial. Aamaya would be escorted by a handful of guards, each armed and ready to protect the woman with their lives. She would soon find her way through corridors, ending up on the other side of the arena and eventually in the infirmary. Aamaya examined the wounds sustained to the men being tended to, her expression indifferent and unwavering. Her eyes would scan over faces before landing upon the man who had been dragged out in poor condition, eyeing the wound that was to blame for the mess of red. He was unconscious, of no use to her in gathering information. But maybe whoever had worked on him had seen him before he had blacked out, possibly hearing a pivotal clue that would lead to who stabbed the man.

Aamaya knew her cousin would be one of the main healers for the tournament, she would question the others but they were of no help. Too busy relocating bones or icing bruises. The Princess would soon move on from the infirmary, making her way to the last seen location of her cousin, receiving the information from an injured healer. Aamaya motioned for the guards to stop, standing in front of the elegant doors that led into the spa. "Stay, I'll only be a short while." The words were stern, no other instruction given before delicate hands embraced the doors, pushing them open while sliding into the room, allowing the doors to seal once she had entered. The girl would find her cousin promptly, the woman cleansing herself of stranger blood. Clearing her throat, she would speak, "You're lucky no warriors have found their way in here quite yet cousin, bathing nude among men is dangerous, especially for a woman of your title and relevance." Aamaya stood straight, arms laid against her front, hands intertwining as she spoke. Her eyes would wander around the room, glancing at the architecture absentmindedly. She could hear the sniffles being emitted from Thyrri, exhaling sympathetically. "I will bother you only briefly Thyrri, I ask if you have any knowledge of who hurt that Thanatos man? I clearly stated fatal injuries would lead to a prosecution and the possibility of execution... No matter that mans race nor Kingdom, I will oblige." Aamaya would move towards her cousin, lifting a fresh towel from a nearby shelf, presenting it to Thyrri while speaking. Now that the two were closer, Aamaya could see the pure unrest and perturb expression plastering Thyrri's features. "Are you alright cousin..? You look unwell... I know we don't always see eye to eye, I know you are not very fond of our Kingdom and its customs, but you do know you can trust me? If something is wrong, you can speak to me..." Aamaya's normally sophisticated and straightforward facade faltering, a nurturing, sincere and almost motherly tone overwhelming her previous persona. An earnest mien about her, she shifted her posture, the foregoing tenseness her body held now dissipating.

With the contestants thinning out Laurel soon picked out the Captain of the Kingsguard fighting, surrounded by Exodus warriors. Although no match for the veteran's skill there were enough to cause concern so she changed direction, heading to support the man. She barely it made half the way before being intercepted by a roaming group of warriors, also bearing the Exodus colours. There were a lot of them remaining, she noted, although there has been more of them to begin with anyway.

She slid to a halt, raising her shield as the first rank engaged her. Neatly stepping back she swept their attacks aside and then countered with some swift blows to their chests, the mace denting in their breastplates easily. If it were a real fight the attacks would hardly slow them down but in this tournament the blows removed from paeticipation so she made full use of the tactic, dealing superficial damage to armour to defeat her enemies.

With three down she found herself with more room to move, the warriors apparently nervous of her feroxity, and so she pressed her advantage, pushing them back with wide swipes of the mace while defending her body with the mace. One warrior found his nerve and charged her but she neatly sidestepped, bashing him with her shield and in doing so hurling him to the floor. She stepped in to deal a final blow but pain erupted in the side of her head.

She fell to the ground, rolling and leaping back to her feet on pure instinct while her mind was stunned. Her vision had blurred, marked with bright spots of unnatural light which blinded all else and a roaring thumping echoed around in her head making it hard to think. Her hair on the left side of her head felt wet and aomething, blood she assumed, was trickling down the side of her face; someone had ignored the rules and dealt a hard blow to her head.

Dazed, she stumbled back, unsure of where her opponents were, shield up vaguely before her while a low whistling sound began to grow in volume inside her skull. She felt anger rising with the sound and for a moment, still weak from the shock, lost to the battle frenzy.

Without thinking she found herself crashing bodily into an Exodus warrior, thumping his chestplate in with the rounded edge of her shield while he lay on the ground before hurling it at a nearby warrior, a sharp crack announcing she had broken his arm with the flung weapon. Falling upon a terrified man she swept his weapons aside and grabbed him by the armour, lifting him up and then throwing him over her shoulder before stomping on his chest before headbutting a charging warrior, knocking aside their thrusting spear with her mace, with enough force to knock him out cold.

Regaining control she stumbled, the strength that has sustained her vicious attack draining away and leaving her feeling every shred of thumping pain from her head wound. She gingerly felt the injury, her gloved hand coming away slick with her own blood. Dimly she was aware that such injuries had a propensity to bleed heavily and that same subconscious manner took control, taking her away from the arena toward the gate the defeated were leaving by.

She wondered whether she would be disqualified, she had attacked someone aiming at their head in the brief moment she lost control but surely that would be overlooked, considering the wound she had received first? Whatever the case she knew her role in the fight was over, there was no sense continuing in a tournament she had had no interest in to start with.

Healers approached her as she left the arena but she waved them away after accepting some bandages, insisting that she could see to herself. After receiving directions she headed toward the spa although guards stood outside. They looked her over but apparently decided she was not a threat and allowed her through. Once inside she saw that, more likely, they had allowed her entry because of her sex as two of the Freyjan Princess were inside although only one appeared to be using the spa's facilities.

"Ah, your Highnesses. I apologise for the intrusion." She bowed, wincing at the pain the movement sent rippling through her head. "I was just in search of some clean water, I did not wish to bother the healers. I will not be long." She tried to give them privacy, moving to the other side of the room and undressed before beginning to wash her hair although the hot water pummeled the wound, making her feel dizzy. She paused, unsteady and holding herself up against the wall before continuing. She would have to find the one who had hit her and give him a piece of her mind, at least when she felt up to it.
