Elizabeth blinked. She gasped and shook her head no.
"No!"
She actually did not look happy. She muttered 'shapeshifter'.

brandon smiled "sorry i must be a little rusty" he says "im usually really good at figuring out what someone is" he says to her. "forgive me" he asked but liked to see her reaction just the same.

kali looked at her brother when elizabeth said no. "elizabeth are you okay?"she asked a bit concerned. then looked to james and kind of shrugged her shoulders. "well i hope to be able to attend more of them" she says to james

Elizabeth frowned. She sighed and looked away. She heard kali and shrugged. Suddenly, she turned into a mouse and hid under the table.

James nodded. He followed kali to the table. He blinked when he noticed Elizabeth.

Brandon watched her as she shifted into. a mouse. "elizabeth?" he says then looked under the table.

kali let out a gasp as elizabeth shifted. "wha..what just happened where did she go?" her eyes were wide. she had never seen anyone do that. she put her hands over her mouth and looked at her brother and then to James.

brandon gave his sister a sheepish grin. "elizabeth is fine sister
she will be back" then glanced under the table. "you will come back and join us , wont you?"he asked her. he sighed "i am sorry" he added.

Elizabeth carefully poked her head out. Her mouse whiskers twitched. It was a few more moments before she shifted back and was sitting in her seat again. She frowned. She looked at Brandon. She sighed a bit, blushing.

James looked at Kali.
"Shape-shifter. Creatures that can turn into other beings. In this case, apparently, her main form is human but she can turn into other creatures."
He explained it to Kali.

Brandon smiled at her "dont frown, you have a beautiful smile and you make a cute mouse" he winked at her. he looked around "would you like to take a walk with me?"he asked her thinking that she might need some fresh air.

kali looked at James and smiled "thats amazing" she says never imagined seing one before. she was old but her father made sure she knew little of the outside world in general.

Ari nodded. "I see... Well, family tradition is important" She replied, smiling sweetly. "Especially if it is something you enjoy, and you do seem to enjoy it. I, for one, am very grateful to meet such a variety of people. I... don't get to leave home, much." Her eyes had a faraway look for a minute.

A young girl of 22 walks up to the mansion. she let out a breath as she qas happy to have ditched her guards. They wouldnt find for some time and would then be brought back to deal with the ramifications of what she did. her long red hair and blue eyes stand out against her emerald green ball gown and mask to match. She glamoured her wings away so she looked human to everyone around her. she moved through the line and finally up to the host. she gave him and girl a sweet smile and curtsey. "thank you sir and miss for the invitation" she says with a small voice.

Elizabeth blinked. She blushed and looked away. She barely nodded, biting her lip for a moment. She blinked again when asked if she would like to go for a walk. She shrugged a bit and stood up.

James shrugged a bit.
"I suppose it is."
He nodded. He looked at her after noticing Elizabeth standing up and such.

Eric shrugged.
"I suppose."
He blinked he saw how sad she looked.
"Well... you're here now."
He was about to say something else when a young girl distracted him, saying thanks. He blinked and looked at her.

He simply nodded in the end.

brandon offered his arm for her to take. "i thought maybe you needed some fresh air he says to her as he let his eyes look over her. he did find find her attractive.

tala gave him an impish grin and walked away as she walked towards the music. she loved balls and dancing. she walked into the room and glanced around before she boldly walked up to a young gentlemen and asked him to dance. she taken to the dance floor and began her night being whisked around the dance floor.

kali looked at James as he was looking at Elizabeth "so do you know her?" she asked.

Elizabeth hesitated. She took his arm after a moment or so. She glanced towards him and nodded. She followed him outside. She didn't notice what else he could have been doing.

Eric watched the girl leave. He sighed a bit. He looked at Ari again.

James shook his head.
"I do not think so. I do not recall meeting her before this."
He looked at Kali.

Brandon walked outside with Elizabeth "so mouse tell me about yourself" he says as he led her over to a bench in the garden.

kali nodded "okay" she says. she looked around the room. she watched people mingling and dancing. she wondered what other creatures that she only read about were going to be here. she looked at James "whats your story?" she asked him curiously look in her eyes.

Elizabeth blinked. Mouse? She narrowed her eyes for a moment. During that, her eyes had started to turn dragon but she managed to change them back.
"You don't want to know about me."
She sighed. She simply would end up repeating what she told his sister.

James raised an eyebrow.
"If you are asking what I am, I am mixed blood. I am half human and half vampire. My mother was the vampire. My father is long dead."
He sighed at that last part.

Brandon watched her eyes narrow at him and he couldnt hold back the laugh "you dont like the nickname?" he says "you make a cute mouse" he mused. he patted the spot on the bench beside him "and i do want to know about you mouse" he says to her his lips moved a smile.

Kali giggled "i wasnt asking what you are but i do want to know about you" she says "i could tell you were vampire" she told him "i grew up around enough of my kind to know that" she smiled at him. "where do you come from?"she asked him

Something about Eric's words was very comforting. Ari felt her cheeks flush a hot red. "Yes... I am." She smiled once more and again pulled her shawl close as an unfamiliar woman approached. It's not my party, though... She chose to respond only with a nod, feeling a bit intimidated. As the woman continued into the building, the young siren visibly relaxed and once again looked up at Eric. "Are you tired?" She asked, cocking her head to the side curiously. She had noticed his sigh.

Elizabeth sighed. She sat down. She looked away.
"I have turned into...other things. some are alright but others are....dangerous."
She kept a quiet tone of voice.

James shook his head.
"only half."
He smirked for a very brief moment. He took a breath and continued.
"It's a rather....elegant looking city. Only those of the upper crusts could live there, but that does not mean we are greedy and selfish. It's well known as the 'city of diamond houses'."

Eric nodded. then, he shrugged.
"I am the host. I have to be among the guests until it is time to retire for the night. But, more than anything, it is mental. I fear party crashers and such."

he took her hand "i know you have most likely turned into hundreds of different animals or creatures" he says "but you shouldnt hide from its part of you, mouse" he smiled at her "dont shy away from me" he says as he reaches out and gently places his finger under her chin and moves her head to face him. "you dont have to be nervous around me i wont hurt you" he told her his eyes searching hers.

kali listened a t he talked about where he was from "the city of diamond houses" she says as she tried to imagine it. "sounds...pretty" she says to him "where is this city located?" she asked him.

Elizabeth sighed. 'stop calling me that'she muttered. She blinked when he placed his finger under her chin like that and made her look at him. She frowned. She ended up making eye contact.

"You have to pass through a valley full of sunflowers and cross past the unicorn groves to get there. Don't worry, the unicorn grove thing is mainly a nickname due to appearance."
James did his best to tell her about it.

his smile fell "im sorry, thought it was a cute nickname" he told her. "please miss elizabeth tell me more about you" he says "how about telling me about your family" he told her.

"only by appearance, so what just a bunch of horns?" she said looking at him and giggles a bit. "how far is it from this place?" she asked him

Elizabeth sighed. She closed her eyes for a moment.
"I don't like talking about my parents much. They are the ones that made me come here in the first place...alone."
She took a breath.
"They originally did not marry for love, but for power. He was the head of his family. She was a wealthy family friend."
She did not say much more than that.

James sighed.
"A place like in the paintings of unicorns."
He shrugged.
"pretty far away."
