"You get used to it after awhile. Being able to invent amazing things. I didn't ask to be born a genius either, but I'm making the best of it that I can."
Name:
Serene Rock
Age:
22
Sex:
Female
Appearance:
Note: If I have to use a real person FC, I have one, otherwise, this is what I'll be using. Hope that's fine.
Personality:
A calm, if sometimes grumpy woman, who prefers the solitude of her workshop, or the inside of a power suit, to dealing with the outside world, or people in general. The type of kid who'd be laughed at in school for having an interest in something other than "girlish stuff" or for not being sporty. She's a calculating genius, the type of person to spend hours running numbers, to solve a problem. But, when out of her element, she can grow disconcerted, emotional, quick to lash out when provoked, or to just stutter nervously. In essence, she's not a people person.
Powers:
Genius Intellect - Born with an intellect smack dab in the middle of the genius scale, Serene possesses advanced processing and reasoning skills, able to study a variety of subjects, understand them, and apply them. She has the most amount of skill and knowledge in the fields of computer science, mechanical engineering, computer programming, electrical engineering and...history, because her dad made her. Basically she's a mechanical genius. Smattering of physics, because you need that.
Technopacy(To Be Obtained) - The power to control and shape technology, not to be confused with being able to make it. She can control technology, but it requires touch, and the more complex the object is, the more effort and time is required to exert control over it. And forget trying to control anything with an AI, that won't work. She's a future technopath, really.
Biography:
Born the child of a brilliant scientist and a mysterious woman who died when Serene was young, Serene had a mostly normal life growing up. Sure, she was a genius, sure she was the odd one out in her classes, sure she was the one who never missed class and always did the work. But it was normal enough. Living with her grandmother, a kind, but mysterious woman referred to as "Selzawill" by the locals, or "skymother" in whispers, she got up, went to school, came home, lived a normal life. Even when her father died in a supposedly freak accident at his lab, and men in black suits took some of his stuff away, all while she was fifteen, it didn't...bother her.
Okay, let's be real, it did. She was already lonely at school, she got into fights like anyone else, but never really, got in trouble. The day her father died was the worst fifteenth birthday ever. Coming home, only to be told her father, the man she idolized, and wanted to be just like one day, was gone? It broke her heart. And it also broke the tv, but thankfully, the men in suits didn't notice. She swore to try and make him proud from where he sat in heaven, and set off to make that reality.
Six years would pass. She pushed herself, and graduated early with high marks, was admitted to a good university, and was well on track to possibly be done with a doctorate in a few years, when on her 21st birthday, a man in a suit came, and gave her the key to a storage unit. Supposedly he was her father's lawyer, and her father's will included this unit. Inside was many things she'd thought lost, like his notes, pictures of her father and mother, and more importantly...an old, beaten down, suit of armor. It was just a costume, she guessed. There was a note, from her father, telling her it was a project, and if she was reading the note, it meant he'd never finished it for her. As she read, she found more, asking her to finish it for his sake. This broke her, as she remembered the day her father died once more. A hand curled into a fist, and she swore to finish his work.
She finished her first degree, and declared she was going to take a year off, much to her Grandmother's seeming relief. Who knew why. It should have been noted, but her grandmother had a nice house, a smaller guest house was where Serene lived, and in its basement, she began to work, slowly, bit by bit, on fixing up the suit, following the notes her father left. She's not finished yet, but when it'll be done, it'll be something. Probably just a glorified knight's suit with night vision, thermal vision, and good punching skills, but its a start. Of course, in a world like this, a teenage iron man is bound to attract the wrong types of attention...she just wanted to make a difference, that's all. She works odd jobs, mostly repair work, to cover her own set of bills, and the small rent her grandmother asks for.
Other:
Its implied her grandmother may have a small fortune, given Serene lives on a rather...alright sized estate. Nothing too crazy, but the lawn's big, and there's at least twenty rooms in the main house. Or that she has connections, or that Serene's grandfather did. No one's really sure, or willing to say.
Her father came with Serene after her mother died from Britain to America, and some think that he did so to avoid problems. Or that he was a retired spy. Again, no one knows. Nor does anyone know where her mother came from, but both were British.
