So, in the interest of spurring OOC discussion (so we can get to the 2000th post and it can be used for something that isn't a GIF of Thanos dabbing), what is, all time, your favorite single piece of superhero media?

This run right here:

I know me being "that guy who likes the Question" is a bit of a meme at this point, but I'm dead serious when I talk about how much I love the character. Something just... Clicked in a way that no other superhero has clicked for me. I loved the character as a kid watching JLU, and I love him as a not-quite-adult after rediscovering him a few years back through reading Dennis O'Neil's run on the character. Everything about this run is just amazing, be it the writing or the artwork or the characters. Couldn't recommend it enough.

When talking about films and shows and stuff, I'm right with you on Spider-Verse. I was grinning the whole time I watched it, made me feel like I did when I was a kid watching the Raimi films. Honestly the best Spider-Man movie to come out in a long time.

On the shows side, Batman Beyond has always held a special place in my heart and was the thing that sowed the seed for my love of cyberpunk. Gonna have to get to reading Wraith's Terry run soon.

When it comes to movies, the original The Crow and The Watchmen stand out for me. (Ya know, those two comic related movies that were rated R before Deadpool came around.) When it comes to animated movies I really enjoyed DC's A New Frontier. My favorite television series is still Smallville with Spectacular Spider-Man and Justice League being my fave animated series.

All three (or is it four?) volumes of Ultimate Spider-Man are my favorite comic book series. I think Spidey is as his best as a teenager and young adult. I liked some of the re-imagining of some of the characters, especially Jessica Drew. I enjoyed the writing for the most part, though I was kinda annoyed that Peter kept losing his mask.

The Spectacular Spider-Man Vol. 1 #200 was an enjoyable read for me back in the day. Titled "Best of Enemies", the story centers around Spidey, Mary Jane, and Harry Osborn. Per the 'Sliding Timescale' of Earth-616, Gwen Stacy died roughly five years prior to this story. At this point in the comics, Norman Osborn is still considered to be dead, and Harry is the current Green Goblin.

My favorite story/graphic novel is still Kraven's Last Hunt. It originally was a six part story than ran through the three Spider-Man titles published in late 1987. Unlike the past couple of animated series, in the comics Kraven is someone who can be a serious threat to Spidey. He proves it in this in the first issue/chapter of this story by not only defeating Spider-Man in battle, but burying him alive afterwards! Marvel published a sequel to this story in 1992 titled Soul of the Hunter which is also a good read.

As for the conversation, this is my best idea of answering it without thinking too hard about it:

The Immortal Iron Fist. The whole run, not just the first half. I'm also a fan of some Green Arrow stuff and the aforementioned Hawkeye series, also Daredevil but I've just woken up and can't remember specific arcs or collections other than Fraction's run with Hawkeye. Basically if it has unpowered but skilled heroes or martial arts stuff I'm in.

Also for animated stuff my first love will always be the DCAU in its entirety. Was the first time I was seeing not just high quality, enjoyable storytelling with superheroes but also a fleshed out, interconnected universe for them. Weirdly enough as a kid I was also a big fan of reruns of The Green Hornet, probably because my dad had me idolizing Bruce Lee.

With Bork being back, I'm jetting off for the weekend since they can keep Dakota City in line.

I'll try to have a third post up around Wednesday.

New Connor post up finally. The first half was a bit weird and mostly just his internal thought process going through his morning routine and explaining some stuff so I hider'd it for people wanting just the plot relevant portion.

Connor gets a new ally so he can start going after bigger crimes than muggings and have someone around with more tech-savvy than a kid raised in a mostly-internet-free monastery. Didn't feel right grabbing Comics!Ollie's original computer experts, so I went with a version of Felicity Smoak.

This post was a little bit filler-y but I'll be ramping up through his first proper arc and conclusion soon, also probably going back to work on titles and aesthetics for my first two posts and adding them to his sheet archive.

Sadly, it felt too OOC for raised-by-monks Connor to get most pop-culture references. He's gonna facepalm if that actually winds up being a thing in-universe though.

"You took your superhero name from a videogame?!"

"You just got lazy and used your dad's!"

"It was symbolic!"

"Yeah whatever, Arrow Lad"

@mattmanganon I know you're young, but if you keep going at this pace you're going to wear yourself out. Remember: you don't have to thrust everything forward at once. You can take your time and ease it all out comfortably. It'll be a more enjoyable experience for all involved.

So yeah now that I've got a clearer picture and path for Connor laid out, Eddie Fyers, China White, Shado, Emiko Queen, Cupid, Ricardo Diaz and Silver Monkey plus the associated Monkey's Fist Clan are all probable NPCs for him along with Felicity/Overwatch. I don't think anyone's gonna want to use any of those like crazy except maybe Webboy's Arsenal, but I'd be happy to try and work things out. Especially with Webboy since we're kind of sharing plotlines at certain points already. I've already mentioned Brick and he's gonna be the focus of Connor's currently developing First arc.

Also if anyone wants teamups down the road I'm almost always happy to accommodate.

@Retired It's not that i'm specifically eager or blasting through it. I'm posting because my office currently has a bit of a work dry spell and i have literally nothing to do for 8 hours but sit here and pretend i'm reviewing old shit. Posting because if i don't, i'm going to blow my fucking brains out. It'll slow down when work picks back up again.
