Listening in on other peoples conversations was considered rude. However Sul didnt know, and even if it had it wouldnt of cared. The best way to learn is to listen. Even if they were not talking to it, as long as the conversation was in the same room then Sul really didnt care about privacy.
This dimension was as loud as it was bright. The kiaju was now learning to keep its dolls eyes closed to block out the light. Listening didnt require eyes so it was a win, win.
