[IC] The Rise of the Guardian

Kanarus looked a little hesitant at first but decided to speak up. "Well. Her eyes were silver when she did it. It was like she used her hand to do it." He explains though he was having issues forming what had been done into words. This was a whole new ball game for them all and though the assassins had seems some gruesome things, this took what they witnessed to a whole new level. But they weren't scared of her.

Orion gave an irritated sigh. "If your a monster like you desperately think you are, then how are you hear and my treating you. Carth bringing you hear despite what happened? Hmm?" He asks. "No excuses for an answer either. I only want facts." He says sharply.

Scarlet nodded as she listened and said “so she is elemental bending that’s for sure but what elemental does that?” She rubbed her face and said “okay, did she pull mana from both guys?”

Ash looked at him and said “because I did it to protect Carth…so he would have no reason to fear me…and your a doctor. You treat anyone you see who needs it”

Now that any of them thought about it, they looked to each other before shrugging. "I believe it was just the one. But bother were struck by our blades before she finished draining the one dry." Maltoran explained.

"Even sometimes those you save can see you in a different light than a savior. However you would be right. Carth still sees you in a good light. And though I am who I am, I could choose who lives and dies based on whom I treat or don't. I have also not gotten the full story but know you have many mysteries about you that you wish to solve." Orion explains to her.

Scarlet stopped and looked at them. “Wait, your blades killed them? You saw them drop dead, still full of energy and all of that?”

Ash looked at him then a couple tears fell as she said “what am I Orion…what did I do out there…”

"Except for the one. The one Altoron killed was fine." Kanarus said.

Orion shrugged as he finished wrapping Ash. "That I do not know. What I do know is that you need to rest and let the aloe take care of those burns. It will be a few hours but it will get rid of the pain." He explains as he packs up his supplies. Once he's done he gets up and heads for the door od which he stops at before looking to Ash. "Right now all I see is a young woman who just wants to know who she is. Accidents happen. It's how we learn." He tells her before leaving the room.

Scarlet frowned and said “when I looked the bodies they were dried out husks…that means it wasn’t her. Seems her sister doesn’t like failures…”

Ash sighed and laid back down, tears running down her face.

"It would seem that way." Carth agrees. He looks up on hearing footsteps enter the room. Orion enters as he sets his case aside on a side table and plops on a cofy chair. "Burns trailing her body. She thinks she's a monster." Orions informs them.

Scarlet cursed and said “crap the one time she remembers what she did…” then it hit her. “Wait a sec…she remembered what she did.” She looked at the boys and asked “how did she sound. When she attacked those guys, was she herself?”

Ash sat up in bed, shaking but not being able to lay there anymore. “I can’t stay…I’ll put them all in danger if I stay…”

"She sounded almost...other worldly. But dont think she was herself." Carth answered. "Though it is surprising that she remembered what she did."

Orion seemed to ponder on this. "So from my guess of the situation, Ash was pushed into what she had done." Carth nodded. "It's true. We were cornered and attacked. I was almost stabbed and Ash almost completely drained one but both killed by the assassins." Carth quickly answered.

Orion nodded. "Makes sense and all I needed to know. Though she seemed quite adamant that we would reject her, in a sense."

Scarlet looked around at them and said “she thinks that because of what she’s been thru. She’s been a target but now…she’s the one hurting others. I don’t think she knows what’s going on…” she moved to the door and opened it saying “Ash? Are you…” then she stopped and cursed. The bed was empty. Ans the window was open. “Boys! She’s gone!”

Ash was a few blocks away now, breathing hard and muttering “just have to…get away…I can’t hurt them…” she jumped up onto a roof and then to the next. She found a spot to sit and rest a moment, shaking as she held her head. “What am I…”

Then a voice behind her said “my dear friend…how do you always end up alone?” Ash turned and saw a man sitting behind her, white hair and bright blue eyes. She stared and he said “hello Guardian…”

The boys all got up and ran to the room and stopped behind Scarlet to see that Ash was indeed gone. Carth cursed softly as he made his way to the door leading out of the house. Maltoran looked to Carth. "Where are you going Carth?"

"We gotta meet her at the gate or before she gets there. She got a head-start on us. If we don't leave now, we maybe too late despite the condition she's in." Carth explained before leaving. Running toward the gate to hopefully catch up to her.

"He has a point. We should spread out and search for her. If there is trouble we send a signal of some sort to try and get each other's attention." Altoron explains. The others nod before leaving. Kanarus stopped to look to Scarlet before leaving himself. Two of the Assassin's took to the rooftops while Kanarus took to the near empty streets.

"Ash! Ash!" Shouted, though it may not work call out to her, it was worth a try.

Scarlet looked at Orion and said “stay here in case she comes back. I don’t know if she even knows what’s she’s doing right now” she ran out to help look, calling out for her.

Ash stared at the man before her who stood up and said “don’t be afraid. I’m a friend. I’m not with those red eyed ones. Cursed souls…” ash stepped back and said “cursed?” He nodded and said “souls who have been touched by darkness. That’s why they serve her. Those monsters are a byproduct of this darkness as well, of what she’s trying to do” ash looked at him as he walked over to her, a soft smile on his lips. “I know I said I would stay out of this but after tonight I can’t anymore…you’re in too much pain. I can’t watch this. I have to step in” ash looked at him and asked “who…who are you?”

He smiled and rested a hand on her cheek and said “I am Shinlo…the White Snake of the west.” The name triggered something in her memory. A man fighting along side her, laughing at a camp fire, carrying a bundle of cloth and scales as Ash battled a great darkness. Ash held her head, getting light headed for a moment.

"Ash!!!" AAASH" Carth called out as he still searched for Ash. He was starting to get a little frustrated as he so far had been unsuccessful. He wondered just how far she had gotten and where she could be. "Ash! Where are you?!"

The assassins continued their search. So far no such luck. They kept looking anyway. "Ash?!" "Ash!!"

In front of Carth suddenly appeared a white snake. But it was beautiful. And had small wings on the sides of its head. It looked at him and pointed with its tail up, towards the roof above it.

Shinlo held her shoulder and said “it’s gone wrong hadn’t it? Your plan to hide went wrong…you have no memory of the past…it’s been too long..” ash looked at him and he cursed. “You have no idea what’s going on…your not faking it”

Carth had skid to a stop at the sudden appearance of the white snake which he found strikingly beautiful. He snapped out of his thoughts when he noticed it pointing to the rooftops. He looked to the rooftops it pointed to and gave a curt nod. "T-Thank you." He the made his way to the rooftops, climbing up a little clumsily.

When he made it up the rooftops, Carth looked around for his friend till he found her. "Ash!" He exclaimed though noticed the man and seemed wary of him and sadly weaponless. He'd figure something out when it came to it. For now, Ash was his concern.

The snake stuck its tongue out then followed Carth up. Shinlo turned to see Carth and smiled. “The young dragon. Why I wondered when we would meet again. You’ve grown up. I’m so glad” he looked to Ash who was shaking and said “she’s not alright. She shouldn’t be out here alone”

Carth cautiously walked up to them, making sure to walk more toward Ash till he was by her side. Carth didn't know what to think about him but it seemed that the man knew them. "Ash? Hey, I'm here. You alright?" He asks softly. Place a tentive hand on her shoulder.

She nodded weakly but Shinlo said “not really. This isn’t right…but I guess it’s a problem to work out. So what did your name end up being lad?” Ash said weakly “Carth…” Shinlo smiled and said “strong name. I can sense your assassin friends nearby. Would you mind telling them I’m not a threat” the white snake appeared around his shoulders and he said “Ah my scaled companion. I see you found our friend here”

Carth didn't look to the man though felt like grumbling about Ash telling a stranger his name. Right now they had better things to worry about. He looked to the man as the white snake from before was on the strangers shoulders.

Altoron and Maltoran could see the trio and stopped a rootop away from them and about drew their blades but as they were about to, Carth lifted a hand for them to hold. They let hands leave their swords and stayed on guard.

"Now that they stood down, what do you want? Why were you with Ash?" Carth asks the stranger.

Shinlo blinked and said “oh right, I guess this does look odd. I have been watching since I finally tracked her down in the woods a few days ago. That energy pulse she let out. I’ve been looking for her for a long time. Also trying not to be tracked by the Mistress of the Dark. Not easy. But tonight I sensed Ash’s power again and knew something was wrong so I figured I better get out of hiding and help. Though it seems I was more right then I thought…Ash hasn’t been herself since I’ve been watching. Her memory? Is it blocked?”
