[IC] The Rise of the Guardian

Carth grumbled when he woke up to the sound of his name. Clearly not wanting to be a morning person at the moment. He rolled onto his back mostly moving his arm from ontop of Ash. The arm under the pillow remained. He hummed to whomever called his name.

Scarlet walked over and smiled down at him. “Rise and shine you two. The sun is up and we have myths to solve”

Shinlo opened his eyes weakly and saw Orion. “What…is…going on…where is…isis…”

[Jazz]

Carth looked toward the source of the voice before peeking an eye open. Seeing it was Scarlet, he yawns before gently moving his arm from under the pillow and stretches while on his back like a cat of sorts.

"It's alright. I treated you last night when we found out you had an wound that was infected. As for Isis, I think she is still with Carth and Ash." Orion explains.

Ash sat up and yawned, Isis coming out from her shirt. “Morning Scar…” isis waved her tail.

Shinlo nodded and said “how’s my back looking?”

Carth sat up once he was done stretching. He looked to Scarlet and smiled. "Mornin'"

Orion undid the bandages on his back and examined it. "So far so good." He grabs the salve and gently applies it to his back before rebandaging.

Scsrlet smiled and said “hey you two. Ash you look better. Shall we go get some breakfast?”

Shinlo waited then said “I didn’t…want others to see the scars…see my past clearly on my skin..”

"How was you sleep Scarlet?" Carth asks.

"I understand. Many would see them as strength. A scar to show what they survived and still here." Orion explains. Still dressing his wound.

Scarlet moved back so Ash could get up and move to get changed. “Good. I’m a sound sleeper…you two okay?”

Shinlo said “I don’t want others…to pity me…I’m a warrior…I learned how to fight back…”

[Jazz]

"Yeah. Why?" Carth asked though noticed what Ash was about to do and turned to face the wall quick.

"Those scars are of a warrior. Before or after the fact makes no difference." Once finished he takes a step back. "Slowly sit for me. I added some of my energy to the salve so it should help with the process and help ease the pain."

Scarlet sighed and said “Ash! Man in the room” ash turned, just in a bra and slipping on a new shirt. “What? I change in front of men all the time as a ranger”

Shinlo nodded and sat up slowly and sat there, testing his back. Then he smiled and said “it doesn’t feel better then it has in days…”

Carth was so glad his back was to them because he was blushing like mad right now. He had never seen another woman change and this felt really awkward. At this point he was dwiddling his thumbs and not sure what else to do.

"Your muscles and such are still healing. Don't go stretching them so quickly so soon. This should be enough to move within the house." Orion instructs.

Scarlet sighed and said “it’s clear now Carth…seriously Ash come on” Ash was changed now and just shrugged “his seen me wounded what’s the big deal?”

Shinlo nodded and said “thank you…so are we leaving tomorrow?”

Carth slowly turned his head, peeking from over his own shoulder so see if it was truly alright to turn around before doing so. His face flush pink as he didn't know what to say to that. "B-b-but I-I o-only saw y-your b-back..." stuttering out a whine.

"Yes. Which means I need to finish what I need to do before we leave." He picks up his pack and heads to the door. "I'll be back tonight to check on your injuries."

Scarlet said and turned to leave “don’t make it harder on that guy Ash. I mean he stayed with you all night and didn’t try anything…”

Shinlo nodded and said “yes sir…”

Carth sat on the bed not sure what to do with himself. He carefully gets off the bed before getting his clothes to change. Though realizing he needed to bathe. He went outside the room and found a tub where he can draw a bath. "Hey! I'm gonna get a bath going."

Orion nodded before leaving the room and then heading out of the house to finish what he needed to do.

Ash called “good thinking. I’ll find something for breakfast and I’ll do a bath tonight” scarlet called “I’ll take one after you Carth”

Shinlo heard Orion leave then a few minutes later a knock on the door. He got up and carefully moved to open the door, flinching a bit. “Good…morning…”

Carth nodded. "Okay!" He goes into the bathroom and gets his bath prepared.

The three assassins were at the door as Maltoran smiled in greeting though was confused. "Are you alright?" He asks Shinlo, knowing he wasn't hurt the last time they were here.

Shinlo smiled at them and said “good morning, yes I’m fine come in” scarlet appeared and said “no no no, snake in a chair. Now. You can’t be moving around after your night. You had surgery last night on your back.”

The trio came in though stopped in their tracks as Scarlet appeared and telling Shinlo to sit down. Coming out of their initial shock, Kanarus looked to Scarlet and held out a basket. "We got some food for breakfast?" Hoping they didn't catch everyone at a bad time.

Scarlet smiled and said “perfect timing boys. The others are getting ready as we speak. Shinlo, go rest. I mean it. Boys? Mind taking him to the table with you so I know his resting”
