Appearance:

At 5'11", Noah is tall and skinny, with a life spent pouring over computer screens and forgetting to eat has left Noah lacking any particular physical prowess. He cares about his appearance, but not for fashion, instead going after items representative of his own, occasionally odd, tastes irregardless of whether certain items actually look good or clash to the point of possibly causing an international incident. He also wears a medical alert bracelet.

Officially, field reporter for Cryptid Weekly, a surprisingly popular, but small US based publication dedicated to sightings of the strange and unusual.

Starting Location:

A small town in Michigan, following up on a Wendigo sighting.

History:

As a child, Noah was obsessed with cryptozoology - anything strange, unusual, or possibly supernatural caught his eye. He would spend hours in front of the TV with his Nan watching documentaries about ghosts, aliens, folkloric creatures such as the wendigo and the kraken. Whilst his parents were concerned, they put it down to childish fascination, something he would surely grow out of with time.

He didn't.

He started writing a blog, 'Catalogue of the Weird' at the age of around 15, dedicated to cryptozoology, which garnered not insignificant attention from interested parties. Around the same time, he started realistically thinking about how he could pursue a career that aligned with his particular interests, and ended up at Imperial College London studying biochemistry, with a view to becoming involved in astrobiological research groups active in the university.

Around the same time, his blog had started to pick up steam, something which his supervisor soon picked up on. He was taken aside, and 'had words with', told in no uncertain terms that if he wanted to be accepted as a serious scientist, he would need to 'drop the kooky conspiracy theories'. He took to the internets that same night, and wrote a long blog post ranting about 'eliteism' and 'pressures to conform' - the final nail in the coffin of any potential career in research.

It was then that he was approached by the editor of 'Cryptid Weekly', who'd read his blog, and wanted to hire him as one of their reporters. Noah jumped at the chance, packing up his life in Portsmouth and moving to be closer to the Boston-based publication. He has been working there for about 2 years, and whilst the pay isn't fantastic, he likes his job and coworkers enough to make up for it, even if he is haunted by a nagging frustration.

Jörmungandr

Name:
Gigouroboros midgardi | Jörmungandr | Midgard Serpent | World Serpent

Appearance:
A massive serpent with traits of other reptilians, namely osteoderms and scutes embedded in the skin. Scans of the serpent while dormant, and ancient remains of a deceased individual indicate the presence of vestigial hind and forelimbs.

Size:
Estimated to be between 91.44 and 152.4 meters in length.

First Appearance:
Escaped from Outpost 54 (located on the island of Jan Mayen), and came ashore in Bodø, Norway. A deceased specimen has been in TERRA's possession since 2010 after being unearthed in Sápmi, near the coast of the Norwegian Sea.

Abilities:
Venom- Jörmungandr possesses a corrosive venom. It can be spat or delivered in a bite in liquid form, or sprayed as a mist. It is also immune or resistant to most forms of biological toxins.
Thick hide- Thanks to the scutes and osteoderms in its skin, the monster is well protected against most man-portable weapons.
Cold resistance- Jörmungandr is quite comfortable in the freezing waters of the North Atlantic.
Swimming & burrowing- Jörmungandr is an adept swimmer and burrower, though not exceptionally fast.

Weaknesses:
Electricity- Jörmungandr shows an aversion to strong electromagnetic fields; despite this, it is drawn towards smaller electrical fields.
Oxygen- Unlike most monsters associated with the depths, Jörmungandr cannot stay underwater indefinitely.
Weight- Due to its size, the beast is quite slow.

Personality:
Aggressive, though not necessarily malevolent. Its attacks so far seem to have been driven primarily by hunger.

History:
Encounters with Jörmungandr date back to the eleventh century, where the great serpent in the sea was stated to be destined to fight the Norse god Thor. Scientists at TERRA theorize that sightings of massive serpents in the North Atlantic may have been the Midgard Serpent waking up for a "midnight snack" before returning to its slumber. In 1961, the great serpent's resting place was discovered in a cavern beneath Jan Mayen, and after it was determined that the monster was dormant (a state known as "brumation", to be precise) and not dead, a facility was built to study the creature. This lasted for decades... until the beast woke, destroyed the outpost, and made its way to Norwegian waters.

Ah yes... the World Serpent. I actually tried playing him in another RP I tried to be in.

He looks cool as well - but I wouldn't necessarily put "Metabolism" as a weakness, at least in the way you put it. Other then that, he too is accepted.

If this still has room for more new applicants, I'll work on a CS tommorrow >3>... Kaiju stuff is my JAM! and I actually have a couple of concepts for one that hopefully will flow well here! at the moment though, I am absolutely wrecked from a hard-day, so I simply can't do anything right 'now'.

Edit:On a side note, should I specify the concept I have in mind, just incase someone already made it, or might inadvertently do the same thing, or just focus on making the CS when I'm able tommorrow?

hmmm, if mythical elements are present, is it possible for a Kaiju to have an avatar of sorts? not so much a new character, as literally a smaller projection used to communicate with tiny things without crushing them? XD

Just a possibility that came to mind to ask about, incase it made a little sense for some XD [granted, given how 'fresh' everything is, having an avatar might not help them very much, any 'small one' languages they know, would probably be wholly different from anything spoken 'today', though the act of 'trying' to communicate might mean something to someone.]

Not on the level of wounds healing in seconds, but would it be reasonable to assume that Titans could recover from limited wounds over the course of several days?

That is also a good question, though from what i've seen of godzilla content over the years, I was assuming regeneration far above human standards, but with some kind of limiter [like rapid regen but with an upper limit, or a simply impressively high rate that doesn't constitute invincibility.] were a given for most of them in some form or another.

You could have it as one of the Kaiju's abilities? Or perhaps limit it to regeneration in specific circumstances i.e heals when in the water or hot temperatures

Hmmmm... we have Nessie in a way that acts simillarly as a friendly kaiju. Doesnt have an avatar but still same effect. Maybe save it for later.

I'll just have Apophis have a very limited regeneration capability as he is the culmination of the evolutionary paths of several snake species, just like the rest of his kind. And as we all know, snakes cannot regrow things like amphibians, though I am willing to make a slight exception in his case since he is a Kaiju and a highly evolved one at that, meaning that at some point he could have developed a regenerative ability.

For your consideration, I present my Kaiju:

There's A New King In Town

King Kap

Kappakami, River God, Jonathan, The Vile Reptile

Appearance:
Kappakami's thick leathery skin is covered in massive scales that protect most of his body and a an armored shell that lines his backside that is nigh impenetrable. His forearms are lined with skives that can inject his corrosive bodily fluid into whatever or whomever they pierce. His blood and saliva give off the appearance of an irradiated glow, an trait that helps him sea in the deepest of waters.

Size:
79 meters tall, 165 meters long

First Appearance:
The Sea of Japan - His moving silhouette was spotted near the water's surface by deep sea fisherman who were out having some drinks and expecting a relaxing day. When they returned to shore and notified authorities, they were promptly escorted to the drunk tank to sober up.

Abilities:
Well Armored - A passive attribute of Kappakami is his armored exterior. His thick scales atop his leathery skin combined with his back shell make for some serious protection against physical attacks.

Acidic - Much of King Kap's biology has acidic and even corrosive attributes. As a result, contact with his blood and saliva will immediately cause some damage to the person or creature involved. Kap can also project his saliva in a spit stream as a ranged offensive measure.

Amphibious - The Vile Reptile can breath on the surface and in water. His speed and mobility is also greatly enhanced when he is underwater, making him an even greater threat while he is submerged. His ears can detect even the slightest vibrations in the water making him an excellent aquatic hunter and nearly impossible to sneak up on within the sea.

Kappa - The Kappa are human sized, less bulky versions of Kappakami with a history in Japanese folklore. These creatures can be spawned asexually from King Kap and have innate instincts to feed and protect their master. They have divots on their heads which hold water. If these divots go dry or are emptied, the Kappa is severely weakened and will not regain their strength until the water is refilled. Kappas' biology also comes with the acidic bodily fluids as well as the ability to project their corrosive saliva.

Weaknesses:
Slow Moving - While Kappakami is no sloth, he's not the most agile Kaiju. He's more like a tank and less like a Ferrari. Kaiju that have more maneuverability may have an edge against him. His landspeed can be impressive in short bursts, but he can not maintain that speed for very long, and his velocity is punished further if he has to turn directions.

Constant Hunger - The corrosive makeup of his biology means that food in his system is broken down much faster than one would expect, causing him to need to feast quite frequently or suffer fatigue.

Poor eyesight - Though his peripheral visions is wide spanning, his eyesight is fairly poor due to a nictitating membrane around them that enables him to see underwater. He also has a blindspot directly behind him that is easy to exploit.

Personality:
Kappakami is highly aggressive when he is on a task of survival, whether that's hunting for food or fighting an enemy. If his hunger is sated, he becomes very passive and is perfectly content with savoring his rest until the next urge to feed.

Kappakami also has a sense of loyalty towards creatures or beings that have helped it in some way or another. It harbors an obligation to return any favor that's been granted to him.

History:

While the River God has not been seen for thousands of years, his Kappa underlings have been spotted more than once on land over the past few centuries. The Japanese have stories about sightings of the Kappa that were eventually branded as tall tales until the sightings began to occur again. Now, more than ever, the Kappa have been seen emerging from the sea to gather food to bring to their master, which means only one thing... King Kap is awake and he's coming.

Kappakami sees Humans as insignificant animals. He doesn't hunt them, but isn't opposed to feeding on them. He would prefer bigger game, though.

Other:
The Kappa and King Kap in particular have an intense love for pickles and cucumbers
