And no GM ever posted again in a certain person's Bleach RP... *coughs* yours *coughs*. You never post in anything. You join, make thirty characters when you really need like three at most, post for a while, then vanish when you get bored of everyone hating/resenting that you own half the characters in the RP. I've seen it numerous times.I am aware. Been dealing with IRL stuff for the past couple days, trying to get my ID replaced from nothing, get my bank to stop being a bunch of tossers, and get my rent paid in full despite it being a week overdue. I have been busy, to say the least.

That bleach RP was slow to begin with, and is not quite the same thing. I'm active in at least one RP, you know, and while that RP is slow I am nonetheless active in it. Also, 6 characters, not thirty Mr. exaggeration. I might make two in this kind of thing. Also, I actually couldn't properly post in the situation of that RP because my character could not arrive at the summit until the other kage had already arrived. The other characters had no one to really interact with, soooo.

I'm kind of torn between a limit of 10,000 tons (lifting a heavy cruiser) and 100,000 tons (lifting an aircraft carrier). On the one hand, you can generate a helluva lot of punching power with enough strength to lift 10,000 tons, but on the other high tiers can have defenses that can tank nukes. How much strength would be needed to even match that, much less potentially overcome it?

This smells too much of physics, honestly.

You're probably right, ASTA.i have a tendency to get bogged down in details. But still, the strength limit should be high enough that brawnies can actually hurt their competition. 100 ton strength wouldn't even scratch nuke-resistant defenses.

And i was afraid that MACH-1 swordplay would get me too close to high-tier.

I think 100k tons would be exceedingly high. I was thinking 1000 to 5000 at most, personally.

And if no changes are made, no brawn-based high tier is ever going to win a fight against another high-tier. I mean, look at Fury. Not only can he lift the max allowed, but he can get even more powerful by absorbing the energy of his enemies. Green's mech could just step on them. Beta's armor spell could duke it out toe to toe, and even without it she can do half a hundred other nasty things to them before they even get in range. How many active high tier characters are there right now? And how many would actually need adjusting if brawn-based characters are brought up to their level?

Honestly, I think you're right that some exceptions should be made to push the strength boundaries up to maybe 500-1000 tonnes maximum (the reason for this is simple, no character lower than intermediate could realistically survive even a slap at this strength if everyone went all-out, which you guys would, because you're not like General Freedom or Superman), but a limitation on this should be thus.

In the case of Fury: His actual physical strength (that which he can sustain at a relatively normal rate) is only 10 tonnes, to push it to 100 tonnes he's using vast quantities of energy (because biologically it would be goddamn impossible) and that comes with its own limitations.

Or, in the case of the giant mech, or even Khan's turtle, they're incredibly big and incredibly slow, making them easier to hit or easier to outrun.

So if you want strength over one of these boundaries you can only have two of three traits.

To be honest, based on the limitations, my mecha shouldn´t be able to move around at all. It´s own weight far exceeds the limits. Heck, even the missiles themselves collectively exceeded that limit.

I am in favor of pushing the boundaries of the high-tier lifting capacities. What was said is true, that tier does favour magical abilities and destructive equipment a lot more than physical output, which makes it very one-sided and dull. A physical-focused character already has the limitation of having less powerful ranged output (usually) - Shouldn´t need to be put down to a level at which they´re unable to penetrate even basic high-tiered defenses. And let´s face it, at that level, a single well-placed punch should -break- a low-tiered character unless avoided.

Also, Yoshua, welcome to the fray. Don´t let Beta put you off, we´re all happy to gain more fighters :) As long as you don´t bail in the middle of a fight, we´ll have no problems.

Ysolda uses perfect dodge charm!
53 megaton bomb's explosion misses Ysolda!

Something like that.

She'd use that charm to afterimage from debris piece to debris piece, kicking off each one, staying one step ahead of the explosion.

... so yeah. But there ARE limitations to the perfect dodge/perfect defense.

The debris would be the smallest problem. The 5.5 mile diameter fireball would be.

So... I'm thinking of making a character for the multiverse here who would essentially be a lightning bruiser, but with very heavy emphasis on the bruiser and not so much on the lightning. How strong would be too strong for a high tier character? 10,000 tonnes? 100,000 tonnes? 1,000,000 tonnes? It was mentioned before that superman would likely be high-tier, and his strength alone would likely be well over 1,000,000 tonnes, plus all his other powers.Thoughts?

Skalla said top strength can be no more then 100 tons, Basically look at Snarnorgul to see the limit.

Keep in mind he is a pure bruiser/tank.

General Freedom at Intermediate, has his lifting limit at 50 tons.
So, between the increase of Low to Intermediate, the top lifting limit for High only being twice from top Intermediate seems really funny.

Hey, no one said Skalla was prefect.

I do agree that High tier Strength should be much higher. Just look at the examples of high tier characters. Makes it all very one sided in favor of people with superpowers.

And then there's the whole debate we just had about 100 ton strength alone not even being enough to hurt most high-tiers.

I'd be good with 5,000 tons, though given the previous max was three times that it still seems a little low (and keep in mind that the previous max was for characters who had nothing at all besides strength going for them).

True... But it can't lift a heavy cruiser. What if I wanna hurl ships at people? :P

Though I'm also pretty sure magneto could lift a heavy cruiser, in addition to all the other stuff he can do. Heck, he can probably lift a freaking aircraft carrier. Dang magicy people and their inherent advantages... ;)
