@Koka.
I accepted him with the line of thought that he was actually going to pay attention to: "Ships are part of the setting."

God's this whole ship fight/save General Freedom is kind of hilarious. Since I have no interest in fighting any ship battles atm I would just not accept any challenge, heck I already blow you off once.

Also Tablurath's ship does have it's own sheet which Skall gave to me. Though I never intended to use it, imagine how boring orbital bombard everyone would be.

On that note I will add I will be moving soon, so expect little activity from me for the next few weeks.

After being told by Skallagrim that ships are part of fluff, I didn't bother making a legitimate sheet for Jessibelle's flagship. It's just a kilometer and a half long ship almost a kilometer tall. The smaller escort ships are about 100 meters. And the smallest ships I guess are about 10 meters wide.

I'll add that in, I suppose.

Edit: Done.

Well, I expected Khan to do something now we've both posted defending his tower.

Perhaps we'll take the Mystan home soon, might as well, then we can contact Khan again sometime when he's settled after moving.

I should have enough time tomorrow to move the plot along there, really I was hoping some one would have joined the Anger rylla by now so you would at least have had someone to fight... bah.

So much for two new members of that faction. :K

Yeah well, everyone misunderstands what the Angar Rylla are about.

Or they sit around complaining about things rather than just jumping into the main story.

Well, if I posted a new character I could always shimmy in a reason as to why he would work with the Angar Ryllans.

Or I could have Keezi come back.

Still trying to make my mind up on that.

It isn't that hard to find a motive, the Angar Rylla are basically a massive totalitarian police force.

You just have to prefer Order to Chaos, even if some of the methods are utilitarian in nature and questionably moral.

Well the character I have in mind doesn't need a reason to do anything, he simply does what comes natural. He's mentally five years old.

Ah, totalitarian police force! Then my characters backstory is ideal for joining the Angar-Rylla.

I'm obviously a lot more polite than you.

My sides.

On the topic of vehicles, Beowulf of Trinity isn't piloted by a person, but is merely a heavily-armed and armored synthetic creature. He retains the capacity to make decisions, can exercise acute control over his environment, and can engage in lengthy and complex sessions of conversation with other beings of like-minded intelligence.

Also, this isn't just based on speculation, I had a conversation about it with LeeRoy on skype a while back. I asked him about the ship thing sheerly out of curiousity. Honestly, I think you don't get an explanation because he's tired of hearing you whine about it, which is what it appears you are doing.

I notice that whenever someone in this thread performs an epic fuck-up of monumental scale, and then attracts the animosity of one or more people, the defending party immediately flags the aggressors as whiners and quickly retires from the argument. This would be a sound tactic if the aggressors didn't have legitimate points...

But, well---yeah.

I have been told over and over that ships are only part of the setting. If I wanted to pop over and cut down some trees on Angar Rylla or make a 100 meter crater, nobody could use OOC reasons to stop lme, because they are just setting elements. So either:

-Ships are setting, in which case they can be destroyed like trees, cars, and buildings, and you can't stop me from blowing it up.

OR

-Ships are not setting and therefore can be fought if they show up on a planet.

You could argue that the addition of vehicles and spacecraft into the MV is a valid attempt at sticking with the character-driven trait this roleplay and many of its participants 'supposedly' revere with a zealot-like vehemence...

Actually, let me change that, because it makes no sense given what I'm trying to get at. I meant 'story-driven trait'. Simply doing cool shit and coming up with engaging character-interaction is the rule of the day. A character-driven roleplay is a given.

But alas, we'll just further regress into the now-commonplace bullshit that is GM-ignored powerplaying, player-defended powerplaying, metagaming, excessive dick-waving and trash-talking, and about several individuals (well technically, it might just be one) vying for a worthwhile GM position.

Eveni-.. Oh, so that's what we're doing now. I guess I would be annoyed, but I'm just happy the chat is moving along.

Anyhow, So Boerd; Skallagrim, the actual GM of this whole thing, specifically stated that ships are to be used as a backdrop.

HOWEVER; the -rare- exception of that thought, is if two people, both having a character with a vehicle of their own, agrees beforehand to do such a battle with each other, purely for the purpose of demonstrating that such beings exist in the universe as well. In ANY OTHER CASE, it is a hands down no-go. Ship vs man-on-the.ground goes against the wishes of the creator of the nexus. Those vehicles are there mainly for transportation purposes.

- Khan; Since you'll be less active when you're moving, does that mean you won't be participating in the swordfight thread?

Edit:

What are you on about ASTA? There hasn't been any trash talking or dick waving since Beta bit the bullet. Odd thing that.
