You misunderstand. I'm saying if Talon hits someone with his sword... he can IMMEDIATELY activate those abilities to increase damage or rend limbs from bodies.

How would one stop that if the attack had already hit, hmm?

That depends on the character, I suppose, if they are activated after the attack hits you must write them in a closed post fashion and then if problems arise, as they will, I can review the characters and adjudicate the damage.

That doesn't mean they can't continue to attack, depending on who they are.

For instance, if you hit Khan's Sand dude with it, he can possibly still hit you with any ability he has charged - unless you blow was a killing one.

It comes down to reflexes, if they can do something to stop you from executing the next motion - then you are SOL.

Well since we are talking about fictitious animals that as far as we can tell have no analogous beast in our historical records why not just make it as you envision it?
