As long as you can remember, you've known you were different.
Don't worry, everyone else did too; the mark around your wrist made sure of that. Some of them looked at you with envy and fascination, others with pity. Maybe a few even shunned you. Maybe the attention bothered you, but you were probably more concerned with that feeling in your chest. That bizarre tug. That longing. That feeling of desperately missing someone. But who?
Maybe you've been searching for them; maybe you're not holding your breath. It's tough, right? Unless you live in a massive city you've probably never even met someone like you, and even then your chances were slim. You probably saw people like you on TV though, in movies, online. Talking about it. That feeling you're missing. About being complete, finding their other half. The movies probably tell you how great it is; celebrities on talk shows might say otherwise. Maybe you've read up on your condition, learned the boons it can grant when things work out. Learned what can happen if they don't.
Are you scared? Excited? Have you been looking at the moon each night, wondering if your other half is looking too? Are you holding out hope that by some miracle your paths will cross? After all, it happens to some people. Why not you?
Well, your chance – probably your only chance – may well have just arrived. You got a letter, in one of those fancy envelopes made out of thick embossed paper, addressed directly to you. It's got one of those cool old-fashioned seals on the back, pink and blue wax swirled together and imprinted with the shape of a lotus. The letter inside looks hand-written, written by people like you, inviting you to attend an event that may well lead you to your other half. Seems sketchy, right? Maybe, but something made you send back your answer, and now you've got all-expense-paid tickets to go spend a week in luxury and take that chance. Think you'll find your destiny?

Miraculously, the world hasn't fallen into anything like nuclear war or environmental ruin, so there are no apocalypses, looming or otherwise, to be concerned about. As well, since we won't be too worried about the state of the outside world, you're welcome to mess with it a little. Want to create a small island nation for your character to be the prince of? Go for it! Fictional huge corporation to inherit one day? Feel free. If you have any inquiries or just want to see if what you have in mind is feasible, I'm all ears.
Technology hasn't moved past recognition, but some useful and interesting inventions have become commonplace in recent years. For example, it's common for large businesses and high-end shops to make use of holographic displays, fully three-dimensional and shockingly lifelike. Likewise, the second generation of universal translation devices have hit the market for those who can pay; you'll be listening to an AI voice, but the translations are fairly accurate and they process in real time, making them popular among business representatives and politicians for visiting and negotiating with their foreign counterparts. Accessibility devices such as hearing aides have advanced greatly in efficacy and discretion, voice-operated guide sensors for the blind are affordable to the general populace and prosthetic limbs have made great strides in comfort, function, and style, often imperceptible to onlookers and easier than ever for the wearer to operate.

General
No god-modding, no metagaming, be civil OOC, take explicit content to PMs, GM word is law, you know the drill. If there is anything at all you're not sure about, just ask me. I don't bite!
I reserve the right to refuse acceptance for any reason. Don't stress though, I'm a reasonable girl. There is a possibility I'll have to restrict character submissions of certain genders or orientations down the line so I can get pairings worked out; I'll make an announcement if this happens.
Put your character sheet in the OOC first. Once I give you the go-ahead, you may post in the character tab. Pretty standard. I recommend using the same post for all your sheets if you're doing multiples.
This RP is largely going to be character-driven, and there's some fun plot in store as well! As a result, despite the lighthearted premise, there is a possibility for darker content down the line. Please contact me if there are any subjects you do not want to breach and I will gladly adjust things accordingly.
Talk! An active OOC is always fun, and as a bonus, makes RPs last longer! Please join the RP discord server (coming soon!) to stay updated on RP happenings, chat, meme, and whatever else you want!
Posting
The partnered nature of this RP requires dedicated players. If you don't think you can commit, then I thank you for your interest but recommend you look elsewhere. Any dropped characters will be puppeted by me until such a time that they can make an organic exit. Thank you for understanding.
Whew, sorry, just needed to get that one out there! I'm not going to jump down your throat if you lose interest later on (it happens to the best of us) but I implore you, if that happens, tell me! Now:
The posting standard for this RP is high casual. 3rd person, past tense, you know the drill. I value quality over quantity and a lean post here and there is no big deal, but do try to give people something to work with. Don't worry if your posts get long; write as much as you feel you need to.
Do your best to use proper spelling, grammar and formatting. We all make mistakes now and then, but at the very least I ask that you proofread your post. It only takes a few minutes and it's an easy way to catch most mistakes -- I make stupid mistakes every other word and proofreading is my saving grace. As with everything in this RP, if you would like help or advice, I would be more than happy to talk to you.
All characters must be posted for at least once a week or they will risk being removed. Due to the paired-up nature of this RP, this is a must. Nobody likes getting stuck because their partner hasn't posted. You don't have to post a novel, but do put out something. If you foresee a problem with this, please bring it to my attention ASAP. To that end...
A weekly update of some kind will be posted by me every Monday. This could be anything from a time skip or event update to a simple benchmark post. You do not have to post every 7 days on the dot, but you must post at least once per update cycle for all of your characters. Speaking of which...
You may have multiple characters, but be prepared to post for all of them. To keep the cast a little leaner, I'll instate a 2-character limit for the time being. I won't accept being swamped with characters as an excuse for inactivity, so make sure you only play as many as you know you can handle.
Please don't include pictures in the headers of your posts. Fancy text headers from places like 1001fonts and fontmeme are welcome and encouraged, but no character images please. To be perfectly honest, this is just a pet peeve of mine. But this time I'm the GM, so I make the rules!
If you have read these rules, please put a star ★ into the "Other" section of your character sheet.
NOTE: Please do not alter the character sheet. Don't add things, don't subtract things. This is just a basic template so you’re welcome to fancy it up all you want, but just make sure you use all the sections that are listed. Please don't add extra sections; you can add additional info in the "Other" section all you want. As well, because my eyes are stupid, I'd appreciate it if you'd put all your images in hiders. If you have questions, comments or anything else, please don't hesitate to contact me! Character image: Non-anime artwork please!
Name: Full name, titles if you have any, include nicknames if you'd like
Age: 20-25 please
Gender: Male or female
Sexuality: I’ll need this to make pairings, so please don’t skip!
Appearance: Extra reference images should be linked or in a hider please! Make sure to include anything we can't see in your image and details like height, weight (this is a good website for figuring out an appropriate weight for your character's height and build!) identifying marks (tattoos, scars, piercings) and general style of dress, as well as any differences from your character image. You know, the standard. ***This RP takes place in the vaguely near future, so it's totally safe to say that fashion has evolved a bit. That is to say, if you want your character to have a wardrobe that's a little more extra than the modern day-to-day, that can be arranged! Don't worry, I'll tell you if it's too much.
Personality: A short rundown of your character's personality. Don't stress too much over this section, there will be plenty of time to demonstrate your personality IC!
Biography: Here's where you're invited to get detailed if you'd like. Your character can be from anywhere in the world and have any background you want, so get creative! Travel, lodging and everything else will be provided and there will be accessibility and translation devices at the manor, so don't worry about expense or communication.
Other: Trivia, miscellany, and anything else you'd like to include goes here! I also recommend sticking your text colour code in here.
Dear [Name],
It is our hope that this letter finds you well. You have received it because of who - or rather, what - you are. You are Fragmented, seemingly alone in the world, longing for someone you cannot name, and so this proposal has found you.
Please do not be alarmed. We mean you no harm, nor are we soliciting. Rather, we write because we are like you; Fragmented, though we have been lucky enough to find our other halves within each other. We know all too well that most Fragmented will never know the peace we have come to cherish, and will go through short and fretful lives feeling empty, and we feel deeply for those unlucky souls who are doomed to live with souls unmended.
Thus, we have decided to do our part in bringing the world’s Fragmented together in hopes of helping at least a few souls Reunite. We humbly invite you to attend an event at our estate in the Rocky Mountains to enjoy natural beauty and the company of other Fragmented for a week in luxury. We have spared no expense and do not ask for anything from you but your time.
We understand this may seem strange. Should our offer not interest you, simply discard this letter and freely forget you ever received it. But should you accept, we will be delighted to welcome you and hope that we can do whatever we can to help you find your other half.
We hope to receive your reply.
Cordially yours,
Raphael & Isaac Abramson
The letter was written on quality stationery in impeccable cursive, and below the twins' names it bore each of their signatures; Isaac's in blue, very proper and loopy, and Raphael's in pink, more hastily written and angular. The [Name] part was replaced with your character's first name, of course.
When you sent your acceptance, you received plane tickets and instructions on how to go about getting to the estate, called "The Winds". The gist is that you'll fly to a town near the mountains and either be shuttled up to the estate along a narrow mountain road or flown in via helicopter, which would pick you up after you got off your flight. You can choose your method of transportation, but for simplicity's sake I'd say none of you happened to share a shuttle/helicopter with your soulmate. This way you don't Reunite before you've had the chance to talk to anyone!
1. Once you guys get partnered up, you can decide with your partner what your new mark looks like and where on your bodies it goes. Keep in mind though that they'll always appear as mirror images of each other (ex. if your mark is on your right arm, your partner's will be on their left).
2. There's never been one recorded, and for the sake of simplicity I'm going to keep this RP to two-member pairs.
3. Soul bonds don't change, but it's entirely possible for a pair to misunderstand their bond. For example, maybe a pair can't stand each other and thinks for sure their bond is antagonistic, but start developing romantic feelings for each other anyway, and eventually figure out that it was a romantic bond the whole time. Or maybe you have two siblings who are otherwise close but share an antagonistic soul bond that makes them endlessly competitive with each other! You can really have a lot of fun with soul bond manifestations, and I welcome discussion with both your partner and with me if you want to see how your ideas might work ^_^
4. Romantic pairs will always be compatible sexuality-wise, but that doesn't mean you can't be confused at first. Similar to (3), it could be possible that, say, someone who went through their entire life considering themselves gay discovers some time after they find their soulmate that they might actually be bisexual and didn't realize. (it's important to note that their sexuality isn't changing, it's more like they're finding out they may have wrongly categorized themselves in the past, as some of us do). For this purpose, if you want your character to possibly undergo something like this, shoot me a PM when you make your character so I can take that into account!
I hope that answers your questions! Feel free to ask more as they strike you ^_^
Another thought! What if a fragmented was hoping for a romantic soul bond to make their life complete but instead get into an agnostic bond type or platonic - would they still be able to feel disappointed despite the euphoria and benefits they get from their soulmate?
If they have a romantic relationship with someone else, would their soulmate not feel left out or get jealous if the other is spending more time with their spouse than them?
@Angel Vicky You can absolutely feel disappointed about that! Your bond to your partner is a very basic instinct, but it doesn't stop you from having opinions or problems. The euphoria only lasts a few seconds when you first reunite, after that the affect of your soul bond is initially just that that longing feeling you've been experiencing your whole life is gone. The bond will grow stronger over time, but once again, it's a very personal thing. I assume in this case, you're thinking of a pair who know their soul bond right away? If so, it's totally reasonable to be upset that your bond is platonic when you've been hoping for a romantic one your whole life. After all, the fantasy you'd been building just got basically wrecked XD
It's kind of hard to answer questions like that in full because everything is so personal, but I hope that makes sense! Feel free to keep grilling me until I make sense (I recommend joining the discord server too!)
As for prior relationships, this is one of those spots where people realize that being Reunited can sometimes suck. Say you have a girlfriend going into it, but then you find your soulmate and realize you have a romantic bond. Well, the way you realize this is probably because you're feeling a romantic attraction to your soulmate that trumps any other romantic feelings you've ever had before. If you try to fight it and stay with your girlfriend, it's entirely possible that your soulmate will get jealous (after all, they are still a person, and they have just as strong an attraction to you as you do to them) and you'll more than likely find your relationship with your current girlfriend to pale in comparison to the feelings you have for your soulmate. Soul bonds are notorious relationship ruiners; I can go into more detail on that if you'd like as well ^_^
Unless I miss my guess we are looking for two to four more players right? When were we planning on starting the actual role play? What do you mean by no anime pictures? Are semi realistic okay? I can't use photos. Other people can. I just can't. It creeps me out. What are the rules on tragic backstories? Would an abusive romantic relationship (that on couple that has one beating the other and resticring their life while the other is like, "they're not that bad") still be considered a romantic bond? Would a Fragmented with inherited mental illness have the illness compounded because they are Fragmented? Does any of that make sense?
I'd be keen to have an antagonistic relationship that goes as far as trying/at least wanting to kill each other whenever they're in proximity. Like an emotional surge of hatred that they can't control as soon as they're in the same room together xD I feel like that would be so much fun to play with. I'd be open to it then turning romantic or platonic eventually, too.
Unless I miss my guess we are looking for two to four more players right? When were we planning on starting the actual role play?
I don't have a start date quite yet, I'm going to determine one once we get some more character sheets in. As for players, I believe we came into the OOC with 7 people, and I think 3 more people have expressed interest, so with that many we could definitely move forward. Of course, if more people express interest, I'll be happy to take more CS submissions. I don't want too big of a cast, but if we get a ton of great characters submitted I could definitely be persuaded to take more than 12 characters.

I don't like using photos either XD It also creeps me out, although if people want to use IRL photos as references for stuff like clothing, tattoos, etc. that's fine. Just not as your main FC. Semi-realistic art is great, basically I'm just looking for artwork that isn't too anime-styled since they tend to be a little much for the setting we have here XD If you'd like an example, here are the images for the twins:

What are the rules on tragic backstories?
Go for it, although it's worth noting that this RP will be a balance between character- and plot-driven, so keep that in mind. The idea is that your history isn't as important as your IC actions, so you might not have all that much of a chance to really delve into your history. That said, it's your character and I did say you can have pretty much whatever kind of background you want, so I encourage you to get creative ^_^ (One thing to note, though, is that you're probably the only Fragmented you've ever met. If you really want to have known a Fragmented, or a Reunited pair or even a Lost, PM me and we'll see what we can do)
Would an abusive romantic relationship (that on couple that has one beating the other and resticring their life while the other is like, "they're not that bad") still be considered a romantic bond?
Ah, the many problems that can abound from soul bonds. That's half the reason I made this RP, to play with soulmates that weren't perfect! So, the type of a soul bond doesn't change once it's been made, but the relationship between the soulmates can change and evolve, as all relationships do. An abusive relationship is possible (the soul bond would likely be the thing making the abused partner cling to their abuser) but, owing to the emotional connection the pair shares, it might be difficult for the abuser to continue their abuse. Reunited pairs can feel each other's emotions, you see, and as one suffers, so does the other. This could lead to a couple different outcomes: maybe the abuser changes their behaviour to make themselves suffer less, maybe they didn't understand the effect of their actions until then and reform that way, maybe they don't reform and end up doing a murder-suicide, etc. There's a lot you can do with this, if you'd like to explore this specifically, definitely PM me.
Would a Fragmented with inherited mental illness have the illness compounded because they are Fragmented?
The Fragmented on their own aren't much different from the Intact, so their illness would be whatever severity it would be if they were Intact, rather than scaling. However, if they become Lost, that will definitely exacerbate any existing mental illnesses. Once they reunite, they'll probably find the severity of their illness decrease. Some Reunited have reported losing a mental illness altogether in the years following reuniting.
So, your soul bond type won't change once your bond has been formed, but like I said above, it can manifest in a myriad of ways. Like hey, maybe once you learn to channel your hatred constructively, you realize that the conflict between you stems more from your soul bond than from your actual personalities, and the two of you aren't so incompatible after all. Or maybe you two immediately hate each other, but much to your chagrin, you're also very sexually attracted to each other, indicating a romantic soul bond rather than an antagonistic one. I'll definitely keep you in mind for an antagonistic bond, though I can't make any guarantees. Like always, if you'd like to know more or discuss particulars I welcome you to give me a shout!

Ohhh I see, well that's more or less still the kind of theme I was hoping for :D And thanks. I'd prefer that type of bond, but I'm happy with whatever.
This is my first go at the sheet, might add some more details for the other section, but was trying to keep it short and sweet for now. Will edit with extra pictures shortly.
Character Name: Adam Rowen Age: 26 Gender: Male Sexuality: Male Appearance: Personality: Adam is known rather well for his hard working demeanor and his drive to want to help people. To him the happiness of others is paramount, even if it means that he has to sacrifice his own happiness in the process. Behind this exterior however, Adam is a scared and nervous man, using his work to try and mask the fact that he is delaying the inevitable. Not that he would allow anyone to see that. Happiness is the only thing he wants the world to remember him for.
Biography: Adam had a fairly average upbringing. There wasn’t anything to suggest that he would become who he was today. Usually people who are extremely kind do it because of a bad upbringing or something along those lines. But this never applied to Adam. One theory that has emerged is that once he discovered he was Fragmented, and the results of not finding your soulmate were, Adam became desperate to try and find his soulmate. Realising that the odds of finding your soulmate was slim, he decided to start a matchmaking website which helped other Fragmented find their soulmates. After finishing the site, he was able to find enough investors to go public with the service. To date it became the premier site for finding your soulmate.
Adam as a result became a bit of a celebrity as a result of the site’s success. Though more for the irony of the fact that he helped people find their soulmate, but he himself could never find his soulmate. As he is approaching his later 20’s, signs of becoming lost are starting to show, despite the fact he has plenty of time. He uses his charity and happiness work as a way to try and make up for the lack of a soulmate. Perhaps his soulmate is the happiness of humanity itself.
@Hedgehawk He looks pretty good so far, although I have a couple of questions.
1. How does Adam's website help people find their soulmates? The only way to know for sure you've found your soulmate is to meet them in person, so at least one member of a potential pair would have to travel to meet the other. Since your soulmate could be from anywhere in the world, this can sometimes be pretty expensive for what is still essentially a gamble. Does it just provide a forum for Fragmented all over the world to communicate, and then they take it from there? Or does his company fund their travel as charity? If so, where does his funding come from?
2. When you say his sexuality is "male", do you mean he's attracted to men? (The sexuality section is for sexual orientation, ex. straight, gay, bisexual, asexual, etc. so that I can make pairings accordingly)
3. Where is he from?
4. Has Adam given up searching for his soulmate? If so, he could very well start feeling the symptoms of becoming Lost. But if he hasn't given up and simply hasn't found them yet, then it's unlikely he'd be turning Lost quite yet.
5. I'd like to keep characters in the 20-25 range, so if you could scale him down to 25 that'd be great. As well, if you could find some artwork for his FC, I'd appreciate it. You can keep the gif as an additional image if you want! And if you need any help finding a pic (I know it's a pain) I can help you out. Finally, I'd recommend taking another read-through of both the rules and the character sheet skeleton, just to make sure you haven't missed anything ^_^
Name: Lady Victoria Crest, goes by the nickname Varia.
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance:
Height: 5’5” Weight 130lbs Slender frame with no muscle tone. Often wears her hair long but either straight or in curls, partially tied back or partially braided. General style of dress comprises of designer clothing, either dress suits and long gowns to fancy functions or short summer dresses and fashionable threads for casual events, she rarely wears anything sporty unless doing physical activity. Apart from the birthmark on her wrist, she has no other identifying marks or tattoos or scars, her body is a blank canvas (or serene as she’d like to think). She has both ears pierced for all manner of fancy earrings.
Personality: A highly sensitive and gentle soul, Varia is quietly respectful and polite to all whom she meets. Unless you’re an arrogant male who thinks he can win her like some prize, then she gets annoyed. She may be considered uptight and frigid but this is because she hasn’t met her soulmate, she doesn’t to open up to other people and if she wasn’t with ‘him’, nothing much wasn’t worth being excited about. Thus she has a melancholy aura but she is sweet and caring, especially to animals, they manage to bring joy to her empty life. Varia loves to sing and does so on many occasion for her parent’s charity balls and business parties. She is quite intelligent, having achieved straight A’s in school, an honours degree and now studying for a doctorate in environmental science. And when someone gets a fact wrong, she can’t help but –politely- correct them. She needs to be challenged on an intellectual basis in order to get her full admiration.
Biography: Born to Lady Diana and Lord Alexander Crest in Great Britain, Victoria has had a privileged upbringing, the best schooling, spoiled and although she wouldn’t want for anything it was quite lonely and sheltered upbringing. With only her pets, books or video games to keep her company to transport her into a world where girl meets boy and although through hardship, had a happy ending. All the wealth and material that surrounded her made her no happier for all she truly desired was to love and be loved. Something she found difficult to do. Whenever a boy showed her interest, there was something off about him, it just didn’t feel right. She swore she had dreamt of the man she is really meant to be with, alas she was beginning to think he was dead and that he haunted her in the afterlife. She drew pictures of what she thought he looked like, although vague and fuzzy images derived from her subconscious.
Her parents have now arranged her marriage to Lord Christopher Spencer due to becoming fed up with Varia unlikely to produce a family heir with her unwillingness to find a husband by turning down every suitor that came her way. Although it is modern times and female rights have moved on, the upper class society still believes in traditional British heritage and thus if she refused, she would be disowned, furthering her descent into sorrow.
Varia never kew why she always felt so empty during her teenage years until she was told she was a Fragmented when she was old enough to understand what she was. Being from a wealthy family, they had access to the best doctors and have learned all the effects of being Fragmented from them when Varia was born. Then the day came when she received a letter inviting her to the Abramson Estate. Finally! There did exist other Fragmented like her! With only one month left until her wedding, she decided to take this adventure of a lifetime and find out if she was fated to find her supposed ‘soulmate’ or to simply wither away and die alone as a Lost. All she knew was, she couldn’t live like this anymore and her soul positively ached for a new life – one with him. She is willing to give up everything for this one chance and give up everything for.
Other: ★ Her favourite colour is white. She is a dog person. She writes poetry. Her favourite film is The Princess Bride. Her hobbies include reading non-fiction, games (board/video), horse riding, fencing, ballroom/Latino dancing and secretly clubbing on a girls night out. Colour code is f49ac2.
Varia is but a mermaid who is not content with a waveless ocean.
Hope there is still room for more. My character sheet ended up a bit long, so put it in a hider. Please let me know if there are any problems. Also, if the RP is full, no worries, I had fun writing the character. Been a while since I made a char like this.
Character image: Haven't found a good image yet, but will keep looking.
Name: Alexander "Alex" King
Age: 24
Gender: Male?
Sexuality: Bi, but with a fairly strong preference for women
Appearance:
Alex is 6'1" and 182 pounds. He has no tattoos, but does have an operation scar on his stomach from having his appendix removed some years back. He's quite fit, and though he does not have a proper six-pack, you can tell he's not far from it.
Alex has shoulder-length dark brown hair, that he keeps in a ponytail.
Alex mainly dresses in outfits like the leftmost picture in the reference (no idea what to call that, and honestly not even sure how to describe it), minus the lone sleeve. If the weather is not warm enough, he either pairs it with a jacket, which he often leaves open, or wears something else entierly. He does have and wear more normal clothes, typically either jeans, a shirt, and a patterned vest, or just jeans, a t, and maybe an open shirt. In unpleasant weather, he prefers just using a long coat but does have regular rainwear for windy, or particularly wet days.
Alex isn't really considered either pretty or not, having looks maybe a bit above average, but not much. His fairly good physique is a big plus for many, however, so he'd probably rate decently on most dating apps.
Personality: Alex is an upbeat guy most of the time. He loves games, particularly physical ones like football and volleyball, but doesn't really care about winning or losing, so long as he doesn't rack up too long of a losing streak. He dislikes when things get too competitive, or when discussions turn too private, which makes him shy away from joining sports teams or clubs, and from party games like truth or dare. He tries to take things at face value, even when he thinks there is a subtext because things are much simpler and more pleasant at the face value level. He hates intrigue and drama, especially in real life, but also in tv shows, books and the like. He tends to shy away from confrontations but will stand up for himself and his friends if needed. He gets a bit more open after a few drinks, but not enough to discuss private matters casually.
Biography:
Alex grew up in the midlands, fairly uneventfully. He did notice, however, that he was different from the others. He never quite felt at home, or comfortable, like something was wrong, somehow. Of course, this is not uncommon for the fragmented, so for a while, he just shrugged it off. But around 12, he noticed that it was not just the fragmented thing that was bothering him, it was more, too. He never felt whole, and felt a constant pull, as if part of him was missing, sure, but there was also a feeling of... Wrongness, about his own body.
It took him a couple of years to figure out and come to terms with, and even more to fully accept, but he realised he was also trans. Which made a lot of sense once he realised it, but also didn't. After all, on TV, most trans men, (or was it trans women? he always got confused by that part.), were very effeminate, and even after transitioning, they were typically the sorta girl to spend hours on their makeup, shopping, clothes and the like, while he himself never really had that. He'd always been a typical boy's boy, loving sports, action films and the like, so if he'd been born a girl, he'd definitely have been a tomboy, especially as a kid. And that was it really, he realised he had, in a way, always seen himself as exactly that, a tomboy.
The realisation didn't really change much for him, however. He decided fairly quickly that transitioning was not for him. He might not feel perfectly at home in his body, and though waking up one day, two inches shorter, with a b-cup and a different set of junk would be a dream come true for him, going through the transition itself seemed to be more trouble than it was worth, especially considering the less than ideal outcome. Besides, he liked having the option to have kids of his own one day, and functioning ovaries wasn't exactly a part of the trans op package deal. In regards to pronouns, he took no issue with being called "him", though he'd certainly not take offence at the opposite either. He does like the ambiguity of "Alex" however, and prefers that to his full name.
In the end, Alex decided to pretty much keep the entire thing to himself, and apart from a few very close friends and his doctor, no one really knows about it at all.
Alex was a fairly clever kid, though nothing special, getting lots of C's and B's, and very rarely an A. He attended a vocational school for electricians but found he quite liked the programming side of things, and, having always wanted to get some form of higher education, he started a bachelor in programming. However, he dropped out after two years because he figured it wasn't quite right for him. After dropping out he instead finished up his vocational schooling and started working as an electrician.
Alex is not really an artistic person, but like to draw simple sketches and doodles from time to time. He's not a huge fan of music, most of the time preferring simple silence, but when he does listen to music, he prefers it either be very vocal focused, or completely instrumental, or at least close to it. His favourite artists are "The Correspondents" "Art Brut" and "Parov Stelar", though he only really likes a couple of songs from each.
Alex plays some video games, mainly fighting and racing games, with his all-time favourites being Mario Cart and Lethal Leauge.
Alex watches some tv, and a fair bit of anime. All-time favourites are Violet Evergarden, Firefly, and Free!
Alex's favourite pass times are all physical though, he loves jogging in the park, playing ball games casually, frisbee golf, and really anything else both social and physical. He used to be into gymnastics but eventually stopped because he was really the only person his age still doing it without being particularly good at it. He knew how to do both front and backflips, but is unsure if he could do either now. He also had a short period where he was into wrestling, but he quickly grew tired of the competitive nature of his local club. These days he gets most his exercise from playing football (the soccer kind), with some colleagues from work, and some really basic weightlifting at home.
Lately, the feeling of being incomplete, that has been present throughout his life, had become increasingly bothersome, and Alex intentionally sought out other fragmented, having met two of them in the hope that they'd be the one. But even after holding hands with one, and doing... more, with the other, there was no sign of a connection. As such, the invitation from the twins was a very welcome surprise.
Other: ★ Alex doesn't really have a favourite colour, but slightly dislikes turquoise, though only to the degree on never buying anything that colour himself. color=f26522
PS: the clothes I said he wears are unconventional by our standards, but hoping it could be somewhat normal IC, otherwise it'll be fine for him to just wear "normal" clothes. He's not really someone to stick out as much as that outfit would these days.
@SmokeDragon I have no problem with the clothes. They'd definitely raise some eyebrows in a coffee shop or on the job as an electrician, but at some kind of an event or anything upscale I don't think they'd bat any eyes.
I like him! If we end up with too many applications I'm going to do acceptances by merit rather than first-come first-served, so don't worry about the RP being full just yet. In fact, you're only the third CS I've seen yet!
What I will say (for administrative purposes only) is that I think you missed a colour code in your Personality section, and I recommend giving the rules one more read-through to make sure you haven't missed anything ^_^
Also, I see you're new. Welcome to the guild! I'm flattered that your first post is in my thread :D
EDIT: Oh, and what country is he from? I'm sorry, I'm not sure where "the midlands" are XD
