Currently playing BL2, poor Bloodwing. Ran the first BL as mordakai the first time then the second playthrough as roland, now I'm on my first run as axton. I think the storyline for 2 is a little better than the first, a rare trait amongst sequels.

The advantages of setting the bar low :). The original Borderlands didn't really need much in the way of plot. It was basically one long fetch quest. Everything was about getting something so that you could get something else so that you could find the entrance to the vault... then some more fetching so you could open it and then some fetching so you could get actually get through the locked gates leading to the vault.

The second had an antagonist with a delightful personality, a rebellion story arc... (sorta) and a larger pool of characters with which to craft a narrative. There's a problem with the Vault Hunters you portray. They don't really speak. Even if they did, since there's no telling how many or which of them will be involved in a cut scene, how do you write such a scene's dialogue? It's not impossible but definitely more difficult.

Aaaaaand cue the smitten ninja!

Truth be told there is a bit of logic to it, The short of it is he has always had a shifted view of what is acceptable, from examples such as magneto's constant cultivation of mutants even if they have no powers beyond mere physical disfigurements to live in genoshia to Nightrawlers constant oppression against his physical appearance. These have lead him to twist his views that only the physically disfigured or those unable to turn off their powers are beautiful. So far everyone has pretty much been playing 'pretty' mutants as the morloks would call them, those who are baseline humans with powers beyond that.

With their powers under control, 90% of them look just like anyone else and Magnus hates that. It makes him feel like an outsider amongst outsiders since he can never turn off being blue or having a tail. Now here comes a girl who cant stop being a human nightlight awake or asleep. Yep, he's gone.

Mind you, this is a 'first sight' thing and once he gets to know her he will shift his opinions of her. But for the moment, he's all over her.

But Roland is beta now, he was not beta before, in fact he was a bad ass. All of them were and three of them still are in BL2 even though I still like Roland.

Is this a start of a relationship or a start of some stalker like behavior, I hope it is not the latter but it would be good for drama though.

Oh, Romeo. This should be fun.

Nice catch by the way. I was considering having Steve try and catch her with his power (kindness and all that) but I wanted to see if anyone else would come to the rescue.

By the way, I'm having a few problems with Steve's mask. I'd like it to be gray, but I also like the idea of him being able to summon it from wherever. In order for that to happen… it has to be made of blood. Or magic. Or… something, fuck I don't know. Also, I want the mouth and eyes to look like this:

But I also want them to be expressive. While the mouth never opens, it frowns and smiles and goes into a straight line to match Mr. Vein's own expression. Same with the eyes. Like in cartoons. But again, should it be made of blood, or should it be magic, or…. something? I mean, if it's made of blood, then it'd be red, and I think gray or black would look better, ya know? Any suggestions?

I would do some research on it, doesn't blood go blackish anyway if it is out in the air for a while?

That's oxygenation and it turns blood brown (the iron basically rusts), but that takes a while.

Another thing is that if the mask is blood, then he has to focus on it being solid (splitting his concentration) and heat will cause it to turn liquid again, converting him back to Steve. But maybe that's for the best? Give Mr. Vein a weakness so he doesn't get out of control, and also a way to stop him if he does get out of control?

Would it be okay if he can change the color of his blood? I know it's stupid and mundane, with no real applications and absolutely zero logic, but… eh?

That will depend, I can already see a divide because of her pastor mother and his views of the church. If he hears her life story, he'd want to take a drive down to her parents and show dear old daddy what sort of mutants he should be afraid of.

It would be interesting if it started a relationship and might heal some of the damage of his past. But a wall crawling-teleporting-ninja stalker could be fun too and also develop his character.

I should probably ask the other player her opinion. :p

Oddly enough those big white "eyes" on spiderman have expressions. They shouldn't being made of cloth but the do.

If you're going for the "no prize" you could say it's an advanced Shi'ar fabric which includes an encephalographic sensor suite and transductive memory cloth. Solar powered of course.

YEAH! That's exactly what I was going for. It's a technique designed to show you the emotions of the person wearing the mask, and I like it so much more than the emotionless angle. But I figured I'd at least but some logic behind it. And come to think of it, I should probably clarify. It's more of a faceplate. Like Vega's mask. As opposed to a full head cloth mask, or a bandana, or a cowl

Well a face plate does not move so no logic is going to work with it where it does move. Then maybe I am not thinking hard enough.

See my dilemma? That's why I just asked for blood color change ability. It would make this easier.

Well I guess you will have to do what you said as there is no other way around it unless someone else can think of something.

Yeah. It may be kinda dumb, but if you think about it, he can control his blood at a molecular level, it's not beyond reasoning that he can control the pigment too.

I say add organic pigmentation augmentation like a chameleon as a separate power, it will make him more stealthy. he can change his skin hair and eye color but not the bone or muscle structure. An asian man with african pigmentation might be looked over once in a sweep but not scrutiny, yet that is often all one needs to get past guards.
