I generally make characters that are magical or magical in origin, (Mages, magical creatures, etc) that have a certain skill or proficiency (Making runes, hunting) that bleeds into their regular life. They're also usually very independent, but have very few freindships due to their perosnalities or life situation.

Not something I've played a lot but more of something I want to do more of, but there's two archetypes I want to do.

The Great Magician. Someone whose much more optimistic and embodies the child-like wonder of the world and magic and wants to share it. At the same time they're bombastic and have so much presentational charisma as a showman.

The Reformed/Aged Edgelord. Just about every edgy-werewolf-blood-mage-cursed-sword-wielding-demon-born McGee is always some young hotshot who has about as much emotional control as a broken washing machine. I always wanted to play someone who has settled down, had a family, had a fulfilling normal-ish life and can control their powers. They can talk with the demon giving them power without being manipulated. They go out in public and don't brood about nihilism or whatever. They can have fun and enjoy life while still being bound by a blood curse.

As an update, the godlike being who doesn't use their powers for reason x, y, or z, and the godlike being who fully does that consequences be damned because they just love the chaos of the situation, are two other archetypes I've found myself using frequently as of late.

I tend to go for the quirky sidekick / plucky comic relief characters! I'm not as likely to take on a Main Character / traditional hero sort of role. There are certain traits a main character needs in order to function as such, whereas you can have more freedom and less weight on your shoulders as a quirky sidekick.
