The heroes made their way to Turfield. Upon arrival to the town, Liam went to the Pokémon Center to have his Pokémon healed and changed into the uniform for the gym challenge while he waited.

"Overconfidence can leave you blind to the element of surprise," Shiranui stated, donning his uniform for the gym battle, "Unlike other regions we've faced, the gyms here are akin to battling in a Pokémon League Conference as well as the only places outside of certain spots in the wild where you can Dynamax your Pokémon."

"Yeah, I get that, but having a type advantage goes a long way as well." Chuck said. "Most of my team are Ice types, and it's a Grass type gym."

"That's true, but I'm sure Milo has strategies for when he faces Pokémon that the Grass type is weak to," Shiranui replied.

"You'll be fine Chuck, Milo will try hard but he can't go all out against you since you don't have any gym badges, you'll see Milo at full power when I battle him" Serina told Chuck as she checked her party and moved some items around as well.

Joy approached with the healed Pokémon on various trays, one for each trainer with a pair of Indeedee aiding her. "Your Pokémon are all fully healed, good luck today aginst Milo." Joy's final sentence was punctuated with the same big friendly smile that all Joys tended to use with trainers.
"Thanks Auntie," Liam said with a smile using the blanket term he generally used with the various Joys besides his mother. "That reminds me, if we ever find some Indedee in the wild, I might need to get one for mom. I mean other than the egg she got from Shiranui and I the only Pokémon she has all the Pokémon Joys from various regions, but she has nothing from Galar."
