After a few minutes, Kurt entered carrying a basket of assorted appricorns. He sat it down and walked in, "Ah, Champion Coleman, Champion Tsukiko, how have the two of you been?" He asked. He then noticed Jen and her Galarian Slowpoke. He introduced himself and commented that he had heard about the Galarian Slowpoke, but hadn't seem one before.

"Liam and I have been participating in the Pokémon World Coronation Series as well as the Galar Gym Challenge," Shiranui updated, "We came here to Azalea Town because Liam got a PWCS challenge from Bugsy and we stopped by to stock up on some Apricorn Poké Balls."

“My name is Jen and it is nice to meet you.” Jen said as Mimi and Aura the Lucario greeted Kurt. Mimi the Galar form Slowking move closer to Kurt to get a better look at her.

"Ah, yes it makes sense you would stop by while in town." Kurt said. "I hope you're ready, Champion. Bugsy won't make this an easy match for you." Kurt then lead them all to the garden so they could get what they wanted. Liam grabbed all except the pink and yellow appricorns.

Shiranui focused on getting some Black Apricorns, but picked up a haul of Blue, White and Red Apricorns. He knew what types of Poké Balls his Apricorns would be converted into.

Jen looks at the Apricorns but did not know which Apricorns to pick. She and Aura picks every color of Apricorns. Whatever balls she will get she still can use them.

Seeing that Jen was getting some of each, asked if she wanted to know what kind of ball was made from each appricorn.

“I would like to know more about the Apricorns,” Jen said as this is the first time visiting this region.

"I'll explain all of it," Kurt said. As he named an appricorn, he held one of it up, and he did the same for the ball that it would be made into. "First off is the White Appricorn. I use them to craft Fast Balls, which work better on speedy Pokemon. Next, is the Blue Appricorn which I use to make Lure Balls. they are more effective on Pokemon that were fished out of the water with a fishing rod. Third is the Black Appricorn. I use them to make Heavy Balls. They work better on heavier Pokemon. Fourth is the Pink Appricorn. They make Love Balls, which work better on Pokemon whose gender is the opposite of yours. Fifth is the Green Appricorn. They make Friend Balls, which make a Pokemon more friendly toward you. Sixth is the Yellow Appricorn which I use to make Moon Balls. They work better on Pokemon who evolve with a Moon Stone, Last, but not least: The Red Appricorn which I use to make Level Balls. They work better the lower the level the pokemon is compared to your own pokemon's level."

Shiranui held his tongue when he thought of comparisons between Kurt's Poké Balls and those designed by the Devon Corporation.

Jen is amaze by the knowledge she learn from her friends. She will keep the Apricorns she already picked already.

Kurt collected the appricorns the heroes collected and said that he would get to work on them.

Shiranui thanked Kurt and started playing the waiting game.

"Well, it's about time for my match with Bugsy," Liam said.

Shiranui nodded and got excited for Liam's battle.

Jen nods she hopes Kurt show her how to work on the Apricorns.

The heroes arrived at the gym. Shiranui and Jen were lead to a some reserved seats on the front row. Once the designated time arrived, Rotomdrones flew into the Gym, which was packed with a cheering audience. In the middle stood Bugsy and Liam.
"I have been waiting for a chance to have a rematch, Champion." Bugsy said with a smile. "I think you'll find I have a much stronger team for you today."

"I wouldn't have it any other way," Liam said with a smirk. The trainers shook hands and retreated to their respective corners.

One of the Rotomdrones called out in a loud voice: "Good Afternoon, and welcome to today's Ultra Class World Coronation Battle!" It paused for audience cheers before resuming. "Today, Azalea Town gym Leader Bugsy will face Johto Champion, and Grand Duke of Kalos' Battle Chateau, 'Dragon Master' Liam Coleman!" Again the drone paused for cheers. "Each trainer is permitted three Pokemon. Also, as a reminder: According to World Coronation Rules, each trainer is permitted the use of a single Z Move or a single Mega Evolution. Since this battle wasn't in Galar, it did not mention Dynamax/Gigantamax as it is a moot point. Trainers, send out your first Pokemon!" The Rotom drone flew over to the side. The scoreboard lit up.

"Go, Vikavolt!" Bugsy called.
"Cynder, it's time to shine!" Liam called sending out a Typhlosion.

"Vikavolt vs Typhlosion, begin!" The official called.

"Cynder, Swift!" Lian called.
"Mud Slap!" Bugsy called.
While Vikavolt was pelted with a spray of stars, it managed to fling mud at Cynder, dealing supper effective damage and making it more difficult for her to make another attack.
"Cynder, Use Flamethrower!" Liam called out. Cynder breathed fire, landing a hit on Vikavolt.
"Electroweb!" Bugsy called. Vikavolt launched the electric web, pinning Cinder down, dealing some damage at the same time.
"Sticky Web!" Bugsy called, Vikavolt covered Liam's side of the arena in webbing that would lower the speed of his Pokemon.
Cynder tried to use Flamethrower again, but it missed.
"Poison Jab!" Bugsy called. Vikavolt jabbed through the electric netting and poisoned Cynder.
"Cynder, Defense Curl!" Cynder rolled up into a ball, upping its def.

"String Shot!" Bugsy called. Webbing shot out and wrapped Cynder, up and lowering her speed more.
"Cynder, Spin in place, and use Blast Burn!" Liam called. Cynder did as requested. As she spun faster and faster, while spitting flames she began to heat up the webbing around her, causing the whole web that Vikavolt to build to catch on fire.

"Now, while it's stunned, use Guillotine!" Bugsy called. Vikavolt lunged forward with its pincers glowing white. It lined up directly, getting Cynder between its pincers, causing Cynder to be OHKO'd

"Goodra, it's time to shine!"
Goodra emerged and waved to the cheering audience before hugging Liam and taking his spot on the battlefield.

"Goodra, Dragon Pulse!" Liam called. Goodra landed a direct hit and KO'd Vikavolt.

"Vikavolt is unable to battle, Goodra wins!"

Round Three

"Araquanid, it's your turn!" Bugsy called.

"Goodra, use Sludge Bomb!" Liam called. Goodra hurled the blob of poison,
"Ice Wind," Bugsy called. the cold wind, froze the blob of poison, making it harmlessly fall out of the ground.
"Goodra, Dragon Pulse!" The dragon-shaped blast of energy was launched toward the water/bug-type.
"Jump!" Bugsy called. Araquanid leapt over the blast. "Now, Ice Beam!" Araquanid made a direct hit and froze Goodra.
"Now, another Ice Beam!" Bugsy called. More ice was layred ontop on Goodra, who was still stuck in the ice unable to get out.
"Now, X Scissor!" Bugsy called. Araquanid made an X-shapped slash on the frozen Goodra, scoring a critical hit and KO'ing Goodra.

"Goodra is unable to battle, Araquanid wins!" The Rotomdroid announced.

Round Four

"Champion Coleman is down to his last pokemon, will he manage to pull this out of the fire?" The commentator asked aloud.

"Smaug, it's time to shine!" Liam's final pokemon, his Charizard emerged.

"Champion Coleman has sent out his Charizard. An interesting a choice as he is both weak and strong to Bugsy's pokemon."

"Alright, it's time to get serious," Liam said, activating his Mega stone, causing Smaug to Mega Evolve to Mega Charizard Y, which also made intense sunlight.
"Air Slash!" Liam called. The move made Araquanid flinch, being unable to set up Rain Dance.
Liam called for Air Slash once more, this one being a critical hit, which Araquanid survived, this time managing to set up Rain Dance.

"Air Slash, one last time, finish it off!" Smaug landed this Air Slash, KO'ing Araquanid and starting the final round.

Final Round

"A great battle as always, Champion Coleman. But, now it's time to get serious." Bugsy said as he called out his final Pokemon, being Scizor.

Bugsy smirked as he showed that his net had a key stone implanted in it at the base where the netting was connected.

"Ah, I'm not surprised that is where you put it," Liam commented.
Bugsy activated the Keystone, Mega Evolving Scizor.

"Smaug, Fire Blast!" Liam called. Smaug launched a fire attack, taking the shape of the kanji for "fire"
"Bullet Punch!" Bugsy called. Mega Scizor charged through and landed the hit, failing to stop the attack from being launched, sending Mega Scizor crashing into the ground, reverting to normal.

"Scizor is unable to battle, Smaug wins, This means the victory goes to Champion Coleman!" The Rotomdroid announced.

The crowd erupted into applause as the scoreboard changed to be a picture of Liam and the three Pokemon he used saying: "Winner"

"As of right now, a change has been made in the line up!"
the number "86" appeared on the screen next to Liam and changed to "55"

Liam thanked Bugsy for the battle and shook his hand. Smaug, who had by now returned to normal, gently wrapped his tail around one of Scizor's claws to help it up.

"Congratulations, Liam," said Shiranui. He also praised Smaug for his sportsmanship in helping Scizor get back to their feet.

“Congratulations,” Jen said as she and Aura praised Smaug for winner the battle and being a good sport.

Smaug gave Shiranui a thumbs up. "Let's go on to the Pokemon Center so I can heal up."
