Serena smiled and nodded. “I’m glad…I’m happy too. Now, shall we get things packed? The three of us have a drive tomorrow…” she didn’t move though, not wanting to just yet.

Josh smiled, glad that she was happy also about what just happened. "right" he agreed, but like her, he didn't instantly move away, just looked at her happily and smitten. What felt like forever but actually was only a few seconds later, he did actually move back an dlet go of her, but not without giving her a peck on the lips. He looked around and found some snacks and held them out to her, "these do?" he asked.

Serena smiled and nodded then moved to start making sandwiches and other snacks for the road. “What are you doing for work right now josh?” She asked as she kept cutting, her shadows moving again to make more food and help prep.

Josh helped pack the snacks and even packed up some bottled drinks for them all. At her question, Josh was for some reason slightly surprised by it. "well, I'm juggling three jobs at the moment. Most days I'm working in a record store" he smirked realising how cliche that sounded after their earlier chat about his love of music, "then a couple of days a week I help out in the evenings doing deliveries for the local pizza joint and one day a week I'm tutoring a school kid" he explained.

Serena smiled and said “your well rounded. I didn’t think there were record stores anymore.” She picked up the bags and put them by the door and looked at him. “Josh…has anyone mentioned Bane to you yet?”

Josh smirked at Serena's initial comment, "its an old vynl record store, independently run. It's a nice enough place" he explained as she picked up the packed bags and put them by the door. His smirk faded when she asked him about Bane and shook his head, "not really no. Think I heard his name in passing when we got back here, but I don't know much about him" he explained.

Serena nodded and said “well, if we are really going to try this…you should know the other man in my life. Bane? Mind stepping out a moment” out of her shadows the huge wolf appeared, his fur shining like the night sky stars and all. He sniffed josh and muttered “and who is this, my lady?”

Josh wondered how this was going to go, dubious and curious all at the same time. He was surprised when a shadow wolf seemed to came out of her and stood tall beside Serena. He looked down at the wolf as he sniffed him, making him step back ever so slightly. "uhh.. I'm Josh, You're... Bane I take it?" he replied.

Bane nodded and said “indeed I am…your with my lady and I’m her guardian…why are you near her?” Serena looked down and said “Bane knock it off. You know very well. Stop scaring him…” bane chuckled and said “it’s my duty, Serena…you are the goddess of night in human form. I must defend my lady”

Josh didn't know how to react to Bane's taunting, he found himself opening and closing his mouth a good few times but nothing coming out in response. Josh looked slightly wide eyed when Bane called Serena a goddess in human form, this was going to be news that was going to take him a while to comprehend but not run away from. "I don't wanna hurt her...I owe her everything for saving my sister" he told Bane. "and I really um...like her" he said sheepishly with a smile.

Serena rubbed her eyes and said “Bane, stop teasing him.” Bane chuckled again and said “can’t help it, my lady…it’s too easy. It’s nice to meet ya lad. But if you do hurt her…I will eat you”

Josh felt glad that Serena was telling Bane not to tease him anymore, and nodded at Bane's words, even though the last bit did put him on edge ever so slightly, "Nice to meet you too and I won't...hurt her that is" he reassured. He really didn't want to hurt Serena and was certain this group could do him a lot of harm, even without Bane's help if she did harm her in any way.

Serena smiled and said “don’t mind him, Josh…it will be fine. Now, we should head to bed if you have work in the morning and we are hitting the road” she gave bane a look and he vanished back into the shadows.

Josh smiled and nodded, trusting her wholeheartedly. "yeah you're probably right. I can crash on the couch so you can get some sleep in your room" he offered, not wanting to encroach too soon on her if she didn't want someone else sharing her room with her.

Serena smiled and said “there is a cline in my room. You would get a better sleep in a room then out here” she headed up to her room, waiting for him to follow.

Josh nodded, "okay, thanks" he replied before following her up to her room, glad that she didn't think he was trying to take advantage or similar. She was the first woman he had found himself smitten with for a long time so he really didn't want to mess it up.

Serena went over to the cline and laid out a spare blanket she had found and two pillows. Then she went over to the closet to change with the door being a barrier. “What kind of hours are you working?”

Josh was thankful for the more comfortable place to sleep and waited as Serena sorted everything out for him before turning away even though Serena used the door as a barrier. He took this time to pull his jeans and boots off and got under the blanket on the cline laying back. "9:30 til 3:30 tomorrow" he called back to her.

Serena stepped out in a nightshirt, a mans shirt that was huge on her, and went over to the bed and laid down. “Not too bad then. Not early jn the morning. I haven’t even check how long the drive is tomorrow to get to Seattle…”
She got into the bed and sighed.

Josh smiled as Serena walked back into the room, he couldn't help but think how adorable she looked in the oversized shirt and almost dainty. It was just so sweet to see in his eyes. Snapping out of his thiughts at her reply, he shook his head, "no, not too early but not too late either. They really respect I have Trish to think of" he agreed, "its a bit of a drive from what I know. Don't know for sure but I reckon a few hours at a guess. Where you gonna get another car? I just assumed Chas was the only driver with only the cab" he replied, also asking out of curiosity. He remembered hearing Chas say he had to go back to his family and he was gonna give him a lift to work on the way. Which he was still thankful for.

During the night as Kay slept beside John, she dreamt of the past with her sister, fond memories but ones if she was awake she would have gotten emotional over. In her sleep out of instinct she curled right into John for comfort, holding onto him.
