Also @Metanoia I don't recall if you said anything about Ted Kord in your sheet. But, I figured there's a good chance the brobot would know about the Beatle. If not, you can aid Julian in playing it off as 'The robot's clearly defunct'.

@Hillan I left it pretty damn vague in reference to Kord just so I could have a blank canvas for his history and whatnot. And Johnny would absolutely be down to insult tease the scarab in such a way. He truly takes pleasure in pissing it off.

In lieu of an IC post (kind of waiting for the plot to start, as I feel engaging sociably with a large number of the team is somewhat out-of-character for Vincent), I have a discussion point instead:

What do you guys have in mind for the development of your characters? How do you envision their power scaling up, and what does endgame look like for each of you? Do you have any hidden backstories or dark secrets that tie into your development plans (without spoilers)?

I'd like E to build strong relationships with the team, for sure. I really enjoy writing interaction, and writing emotions as well - part of why I created an empath was to get a leg up for that kind of access with the other characters.

In terms of powers, yeah, I know how her evolution is going to go. She's going to be pretty powerful in her own unique way which is how I see a lot of the current characters as well. I'm seeing astral projection, full team telepathic sync-up, getting behind their eyes so she, from a distance, can have a full and complete view of the field before them. Like human CCTV. Emotional illusion projection also that will invoke strong feelings upon people be they friend or foe. Oh and her eyes will turn white when she's being a badass strictly for the cool as fuck factor.

Backstory and her origin? Now that I won't reveal. Those cards are close to my chest I'm afraid. :>

I've got visions of Julian coming to grasp his power - but not before trying out several workarounds to them. I foresee a full on power suit in his future long before he takes off the ring. But more of the patented Luthor Snob and idea of 'I've won before the fight's even started' - only for that belief to be shattered time and time again. But, I look forward to him taking off his ring when he faces a impossibly big threat and he actually has to learn to fight with them.

As for his deep dark secrets, they're all pretty much already out in the open as far as the OOC is concerned. Revealing them to the entire team might take time, though.

Hm. For Hana, I believe her power scaling falls fully into her becoming more competent with it. If we ignore all the Mary Sues (I'm looking at you Hal), most of the GLs are on the same level power-wise with slight fluctuations. So, it's not like she can really exceed that, and I don't really foresee that happening with her anyway. So, yes, she'll be as powerful as a space chipmunk, which is still plenty powerful.

A fun twist might be losing her ring, but we'll see how things go.

Anyway, as much as hidden backstories go... Hana's is all out on the table. She doesn't have any mysterious past. The most that'll "be revealed" is if her family decides to visit Seattle or the team ends up in Hub City. Beyond that, she's an open book. There are no girlfriends in her fridges. Yikes (TM).

If we ever do a time skip, depending on how intertwined Johnny gets with the team, I might have him leave the group and become a crew-chief, using his inherent abilities on the track (or maybe having him get some power blocking device so he doesn't feel like he's cheating). More short term, like I went over pretty briefly in my CS, I'd like to lean into some more Knight Rider/alien type stuff with an evil doppleganger of The Car showing up and having Johnny + Carly duke it out with that thing.

Power-wise I haven't really thought about much I'd change. Maybe having Johnny flesh out his own powers somewhat or have The Car get some cool new gadgets (though I want to reel back on this a bit so Carly doesn't become a car version of the scarab).

Having a hard time deciding what Dandy will want to do when presented with their first mission. In all likelihood they'll just let Julian tell them what he wants them to do.

Smort. I'm figuring I'd give people some breathing room to build some anxiety about going on a mission. A certain Green Lantern or Blue Beatle might wanna head out without the rest of the team, etc. If you decide your character wants to stay behind, they'll have a part to play there, too.

I do realize that our massive cast will become quite troublesome to plot for till we build up proper group dynamic like in the show where we can split up into squads and tackle different sections of a mission, or different missions all together. So, I hope people lean into the yank of it all.

I have plenty of hidden secrets, backstory wise I feel like most people know the premise but there are finer details that go amiss.

Power scaling, Conor is really the magical Batman of the group and so long as he is given time to prepare for any given situation, he can be quite powerful. What I hope for him is to see him maybe take a bit more initiative in learning how to actually fight and refine his runes in relation to personal ones that he has on his body, giving him finer control and skills.
