@TheMerlin Would the current Dragonier's know Agememnar personally perhaps? Like did they all go to the same academy or is each nation responsible for training their own dragoniers?

If so, Would my rider have known Queen Sifa? I did not know how elite our rider's were. Maybe even a caste like the samurai? I am guessing since the age of peace the numbers had dwindled some since there is not really any need for them.

I was wondering if my character was not on good terms with the rest of the Elven nobles and dragoniers because he decided to rescue the Priestesses that ministered to the World Tree, mainly his sister.

It would depend on when they joined, but yes, some will know him personally. I'll also be mentioning this later on, but as well as being a peacekeeping force, the Dragonier also raise their own dragons and with wild dragons being exceedingly rare, its generally considered to be the only place on Tirn where you can get a dragon and learn how to ride one.

Sifa left the Dragonier to become high queen of Avalan 200 yrs ago, shortly after the death of the last Elder Dragon, so I doubt your character would have known her from back then. It depends on how old you want him to be though, so I guess the answer is maybe. The numbers of the Dragonier have indeed dwindled over the years, but there are probably more former members than those actively serving atm, given the longevity of mages and certain races.

I can imagine some elves holding resentment against your character, particularly those who survived the battle. Still, others will understand that it probably wouldn't have made much of a difference. They were going up against a Paragon after all.

@TheMerlin So, the first dragons the Dragonier used were also Elder Dragons? And the dragons existing in the present time all are descendants of those tamed ones? Or am I missing something with this?

No. The term Elder Dragon only refers to those that originally arrived and settled on the world of Ith, so the first dragons used by the Dragonier were not Elder Dragons.

The thing you're missing is something I haven't mentioned yet and I'll explain it in more detail later on, but the gist is that if there were enough dragons to sustain their immortality then they'd live and grow indefinitely until they became as big as the Elder Dragons themselves, so that's basically their final form. The tradeoff is that they lose the ability to reproduce after a certain point, but none of the first dragons born on Ith got that far by the time the first Dragonier rolled around, so it's all academic.

As for where the first Ith born dragons came from, they were carried over as eggs by the Elder Dragons. They're the ones all present day dragons are descended from, so I guess it's a bit misleading to call them 'spawn' of the Elder Dragons, but also technically correct(?) idk, I'm sure there's a better word for it, but it's all I could think of at the time. Anyways, I hope that about covers it.

Done with the Dragonier. Feels a bit incomplete though, is there anything else I should add?

Still working on details about the Dragonier, but I made a few other changes too.

- Did a bit of reorganizing and put all the different types of magic, races and nations under hiders to make everything a bit neater. No more having to slog through walls of text to find stuff relevant to your character. Hope it helps.

- @Omni5876 It's a bit early for it, but as promised I expanded a bit more on Avalan about the World Tree and its place in elven religion as well as adding a paragraph on this figure called 'the Oracle'. More worldbuilding, y'know.

- I thought Agememnar sounded a bit too ancient for the current time of the setting, so I renamed him to Kasimir which apparently means 'he who destroys peace'. Quite fitting, I think.

- Selected both casual and advanced in the tags. Casual because I don't care about post length and advanced because of the sheer amount of lore going on. I mean it's probably not that much compared to other roleplays around here, but it's definitely the most I've ever written so that's something I suppose. Still not sure whether to make it casual or advanced when we finally begin, but I'll leave it open for discussion until then. Thoughts, anyone?

More on the horizon, definitely gotta take another look at magic at some point.

@TheMerlin
Cool thanks for the shout out. I figured every race would have their own religion. Also, I guess it would be a place of honor to be able to tend the World Tree as much as it would be to have a child in the Dragonier. Other than the Alliance to take down Kasimir, is there any other thing holding the factions together? Has some houses gone over to Kasimir's side?

Asides from the Alliance, there's the Dragonier. Before the current circumstances, most of the nations' rulers or at least one of their relatives were part of the Dragonier at some point and would've formed close bonds while working together to keep the peace throughout all of Tirn.

For example, the current Shokhan of Yolta is a nephew of Grandmaster Temuro and Sifa personally knew the ancestors of each nations' rulers. Kasimir himself made many friends during his time among the Dragonier and some of them now serve as his most elite warriors and generals.

Because of their history, a good portion of the Dragonier were usually from Kovosia. Almost half I'd say, so it's a fair bet to assume that most of them have gone over to the Empire by now. The only ones I can see staying behind are either commoners who don't have a reason to go back or nobles holding a personal grudge against Kasimir. Maybe they lost relatives during his rise to power or their houses were overthrown during the unification of Kovosia.

To be sure, there'd be a few Norsinians who actually support the Empire's cause but with the passes through the Stormwall Mountains being heavily guarded, none would be able to openly switch sides atm. As for the elven houses... Yeah, they're just straight up not having a good time right now. Absolutely none of them are going to side with Kasimir. Not willingly anyway.

Sorry for the lengthy response, I didn't really know what you meant by 'houses' so I just interpreted it broadly and tried to cover everything.

After thinking about it for a while, I've decided that I'm going to shelve this idea for now. I haven't actually roleplayed in a while and I feel like I need to warm up a bit first before continuing this project. I'll return to it once I'm ready.

Take your time. I think those that are truly interested will come back. The setting is a great one and would be fun to play out.

That's a shame tbh, I was looking forward to this. It seemed like this was pretty much ready for playing, besides the magic system you wanted to fiddle with (which looked fine as is, but then again, I don't know what you had in mind). Nevertheless, if you don't feel like GMing or want to put this on a hold for a while, that's entirely up to you.

That's all fair, take the time you need. It's a great setting and idea, so I think it'll be fun when you come back.
