Personality: Matt has always been the quiet type; a little bit shy and with a calm demeanour, he’s the type who doesn’t really stand out in a crowd and also the type who doesn’t do well in large groups of people. He has trouble asserting himself, whether that be adding his opinions to a discussion or standing up for what he wants; as such he finds that his voice is easily drowned out by others in a group and his non-confrontational nature means that he often finds himself being dragged along by the whims of others. If something is making him uncomfortable or if he is upset about something he will rarely voice this, instead keeping it to himself and waiting for it to pass or hoping someone else with notice his discomfort so he doesn’t have to say anything.

History: Growing up in Lumiose city, Matt was never particularly interested in Pokémon as a child. His parents owned and ran a small café in the city and they lived in the equally small apartment above it whose lease did not allow pets so owning a Pokémon was never an option for them; as such, he thought they were cool but never gave them or becoming a trainer much thought. He was a shy child, someone who never meshed well with his peers and lacked friends as a result and Matt would spend most of his time alone reading or playing by himself; this continued until elementary school, when Matt was approached by and became friends with a much more extroverted group of friends who worked to bring him out of his shell a little.

When he was thirteen, the person who first made friends with him moved away to became a movie star and not long after that Matt moved as well, losing touch with most of his friends along the way. His parents moved him to Coumarine city in order to be closer to the rest of their family, opening another café in the city. Matt made a few new friends at his new school, but mostly just regressed into his old shy self; in all the years since he has never made friends who he was quite as close as the friends he had back in Lumiose.

In Coumarine it was common to see people taking photos of the sights or of themselves in front of those sights due to its popularity as a tourist destination; common enough that he never paid much attention to them. One day while walking home from school Matt saw someone taking photos by themselves; actually he saw a lot of people taking by themselves, but this person stood out for the fact that they were pointing their camera in the opposite direction from everyone else. Where everyone else was taking photos of the main attractions, or of their friends or of themselves, this person was taking photos of everything else; the store fronts, the people, the sea, the Pokémon flying in the sky above the port. They were taking a lot of photos, shooting the same shot over and over, sometimes changing angles slightly, sometimes adjusting something on their oversized camera. Matt approached them curiously to ask what they were doing and found out that this person was a professional photographer and that they were taking photos for their work. They showed Matt the photos they had been taking, photos that would soon end up appearing in a travel magazine or a tourist brochure for Coumarine city.

This encounter left Matt with an interest in photography, leading to him reading up on the subject and doing research online; he even began to consider it as a career option. On his fifteenth birthday his parents got him his own camera so that he could start taking his own photos around the city; he started his own blog so that he would have a place to post his photos to. Once he graduated from school, he was planning on studying photography at college, but a surprise message from an old friend changed those plans and now he finds himself heading towards Vaniville to reunite with people from his past.

Other: Has brought his camera with him on his journey. Intends on spending more time taking photographs than battling, but things might not work out as he expects.

Personality: Inquisitive and friendly. Not afraid to approach people or things he has never seen before and get to know them.
History: A gift given to Matt on his eighteenth birthday by his parents. Though at that point he had not yet received the message from Andre and decided to become a trainer, his parents wanted him to have a Pokémon with him when he went to college; both for company and potentially for his own safety.

Ember is open and outspoken, she loves making new friends and prefers to be surrounded by people. Her personality is infectious and it’s difficult not to smile when she’s around. She lives and breaths everything pokemon related.
History:
Ember was raised in a family that praised anything and everything to do with pokemon. Her father was a pokemon researcher, who traveled all over the world. He’s been to Kanto, working along-side the great professor Oak, and then made his travels through many of the other regions to meet other world renowned professors and researchers. As Ember grew a little older, her father began bringing him along, so that she too could meet some of the most famous researchers. She became fascinated with the creatures, and it wasn’t long before they became her entire world. She studied them, learning everything from their habits to their abilities. She was twelve when she saw her very first in person pokemon battle. She had gone to the market with her mother, when something from the street over had caught her attention. She had wandered off, while her mother was occupied picking out berries. She stepped out into the street over, and the battle before her absolutely marveled her. She had never understood battling before, as a researcher, her father didn’t battle pokemon. The amount of trust that she saw between the trainer and his pokemon… an Eevee. It changed her entire life.

Her father encouraged her to follow in his footsteps, to become a pokemon researcher, as a trainer, while respected, was a hard life to live. At sixteen, she agreed to accepting a beginner’s job with her father, becoming his assistant, running errands, and given small, simple tasks that involved pokemon. Ember didn’t hate the work, she sometimes got to work closely with the creatures she loved so much, but she could feel her heart pulling her in another direction. She spent two years working by her father’s side, graduating from his assistant to a student researcher. She was allowed to travel to locations on her own and perform her own studies, only to return and have each study graded by her father. It was on her very last trip that she encountered a wild Eevee. Ember had never caught a pokemon before, but the furry thing took a liking and began following her everywhere, until she asked if he would like to travel with her. When she got home, she discovered that her Eevee had an adventuring spirit. It was her pokemon who finally gave her the confidence to take the steps that she really wanted. She told her father that she wanted to put her research on hold and become a trainer, with Finn, her Eevee, by her side.

Appearance: Saint is a pretty ordinary boy. Perhaps the most striking feature of his appearance is his tall, strong, and slender body. At 6'1 tall, the boy has a hard time getting by without being noticed. His face, however, is extremely typical. Fair skin, freckles, dark eyes, and hair. He tends to dress casually, with short shorts and loose shirts. He only dresses well on special occasions, such as the occasional contest he took part in Galar. He always carries a backpack that seems to hold all the weight in the world. Sometimes he has trouble remembering how things got inside it.

Personality: Saint is a reflection of the upbringing he had. The son of two laid-back scientists, the lad has an innate curiosity for anything that looks different. Despite being quiet, he is a very competitive guy who doesn't like to lose. However, his experience in gyms and contests in the Galar region made him know how to behave, even in the face of defeat. He's gay and comfortable with his sexuality, with a few short relationships in his pocket.

History:
Saint was born in a different home. His parents are Pokémon scientists and never thought that putting down roots was best for their son. The boy spent most of his childhood on the continent of Kalos, where he made great friends. However, shortly before turning 12, his parents were hired by a large company to study the effects of catching Pokémon in wild areas on the continent of Galar. It was there that the boy received his first Pokémon, a regional variant Corsola.

Since then, Saint has never let go of the idea of ​​catching Pokémon. The boy explored countless forests and biomes with his parents as they studied and developed their research. The kid got an amazing collection of regional Pokémon and was proud of it. His relationship with his partners was one of friendship and he never did anything that could seriously hurt them. He even challenged some gym leaders and competed in some contests in the region, coming out victorious in some of the times.

As the boy reached adulthood, his parents consolidated their research and their position as renowned scientists in Galar. In an almost opposite movement, now it was Saint who wanted to travel and explore other regions. His greatest desire was to live what he started in Galar but fully invested. He wanted to beat all gym leaders and even the champion, get the most powerful and rarest Pokemon. But more than anything he wanted a fresh start. He left his Pokémon captured until then with his parents, as they had become attached to them. The last gift he received before he left was a Pokémon egg that hatched a few days after it arrived in Kalos, revealing a rare and friendly Dreepy, named Bullet.

• One of his ex-boyfriends is also in Kalos, but Saint doesn't want to meet him as he might still have some feelings.
• Saint has a scar over his right nipple resulting from an accident with his father's Scyther.

• He dreams of one day becoming a Gym Leader

Personality: Bullet is an extremely energetic and lively Dreepy. The Pokémon doesn't seem to be able to calm down until it explores every corner of its environment. Despite this, he is also shy and fearful, perhaps because he is a newborn.
History: As a newborn Pokémon, Bullet doesn't have much of a history. Her egg was collected in a wild nest by Saint's parents and presented to the boy a few days before he left for the trip. The egg hatched two days after Saint arrived in Kalos.
