Four Yancy Street

"Miss Richards, you have now received 52 unanswered requests for comment."

It was not the first of such warnings that had chimed through to her this morning, what little remained of the morning, the pleasant tones of F.R.I.D.A.Y beginning to sound a little more earnest. She'd been aware of a few more mundane prompts to wake as well, the typical polite-but-judgemental mutterings of her father's staff not enough to rouse her, at least in so far as they believed. While she outwardly dozed well into the later evening, no doubt nursing a hangover on top of her predisposition to not waking early, the young woman was far from static. Even before she had convinced Victor to begin his secretive magical tutoring of her, she would use this time to be lost in her own thoughts, the challenges of reality laid bare to her as lying still allowed her to focus entirely on the power of thought. Now? Now she could move reality from the confines of her bed, interacting with the magi-science systems which enabled her to weave into the web of communications that crossed the globe. Reed and Victor would never find the electronic trace of the Underground, for it existed only when she thought it to be. The implementation of her neuro-network have been the only real reason to reveal her true identity to her allies in Wakanda. It had taken considerable effort to convince T'chala and Ororo that their hidden ally among the United Empire was the daughter of Reed Richards, least of all by inference that meant she had barely been seven years old when the Railroad was first implemented. In the end, she didn't convince them, she convinced Shuri and that had been the end of the discussion.

With a languid yawn, and equally feline stretch, Valeria began to rise from her bed, cascading blonde hair catching the cool New York Sun streaming through the windows between hastily shut blinds like spun gold. Four Yancy Street offered plenty of opportunity to escape into its impossibly large interior, the reality bending capacity of the townhouse giving it more functional space than even the current Baxter Building. The room she had claimed as her own whenever she remained in the city proper was part of the original structure, however, the exposed red brick of the walls interrupted only by the various decorations she had selected for it and the trappings of furniture. With a second yawn and groan that wasn’t entirely play-acting, Valeria pulled herself from the bed, covers falling away from her as her bare feet met the softness of carpet.

“Any of them….important?” The blonde called out, seemingly to the room itself, her words interrupted only by another stretch, pushing herself up onto her tip toes and arching her back a little, rewarded by a satisfying click before she padded her way over to her dressing table, just as one of the staff finally picked up the courage to renter and see if Miss Richards had finally roused herself. They were almost pleasantly surprised to find the young woman up and about, if still in the pristinely white baggy top and pink pajama shorts she had slept in.

“Morning Elise.” Valeria smiled with full lips, her cheeks slightly dimpling in the manner which had gone from adorably cute to stunningly disarming over the course of her life. It still half worked on the staff, despite their general belief she was more than a little on the pampered side of a New England Princess. She didn’t have to be a savant to know that.

“Morning Miss, would you care for breakfast?” Elise was a kind soul, a little older than Valeria and had been a part of the Richards staff ever since she was old enough to have a job, a heritage, if Valeria recalled correctly, and she always did. Her father didn’t do a particularly good job of trying to hide that they were the new royalty of a burgeoning empire with a staff of servants that now included second, and sometimes even third, generations of workers. Still, at least they were paid well and had access to good wifi, she didn’t suppose there were many historical examples outside of Wakanda which could boast that.

“Please, I’m sure Antony has something nice is mind.” That was Antony the house chef, not Tony Stark, billionaire genius. Only one of those had anything useful to contribute to her morning. “I’ll take it in the pantry, give me thirty minutes, I’ll have a chai latte please.” She didn’t check her stride or smile as she flumped down into the chair. The nod of the head Elise gave her stopped just short of what could possibly be considered a bow or curtsey, but it was enough that a flicker of unease passed through the seated woman.

What are we becoming?

Such concerns were the thoughts of her greater mind however, and not the outward presentation she showed even those who had known her for as long as some of the staff had, and all Elise earned from her was another winning smile, that for all its warmth still dismissed her. With a huff that blew a golden curl from out of her eyes, Valeria looked to her mirror. “Carry on F.R.I.D.A.Y.” She hadn’t been quite truthful in her scathing narrative earlier, Stark had given her something useful, but as was the trend of the leadership of the United Empire, they had not done so willingly. When she had asked to have Yancy Street fitted for her purposes, Stark’s VI assistant had been installed alongside the already substantial technological wonders found within the dimension-folding home. She couldn’t fault the conveniences this borught, even if she was entirely sure the intention was for the VI to monitor her. To Stark’s credit, it had taken her a few weeks to unbind and reshackle the VI, and now she was the one with the spy in the code, To keep up appearances F.R.I.D.A.Y. still performed her assigned roles, all the more reason her permanent act was all the more important to keep up.

“Most unanswered updates pertain to ususal calls to comment on trival matters, I have instructed and redistributed these to the relevant press teams. You have three requests to meet today from your father and two from unrecorded numbers. I can, of course, provide identification for these if required.”

“That’s fine, Friday.” Valeria began to brush through her hair as she spoke, beginning to get the blonde mane under control. “How’s the footage from last night doing?” As She spoke, portions of the mirror not occupied by her reflection shifted, forming a multitude of windows from which various forms of media played, each running simultaeneously, the individual watcher able to take them in at once. Most consisted of broadcast footage but there were the typical personal media recordings thrown in. The world might have experienced a devestating cosmic genocide and a third world war, but some things were eternal, sports rivalries were among them. An NFC Championship between the Giants and the Cowboys had been predictably wild and well watched. It had been decided it would benefit matters if Valeria could be the one present to present the trophy to the winning captains, after a brief speech both praising the winners and upholding the tenents of the United Empire. Not that she would expect otherwise, but every broadcast seemed to be praising both her stunning appearance, business like as it had been, and both the emotional and, at times, jovially entertaining speech she had given. It had helped that the Giants had won, that had certainly helped her play to the New York crowd and her official residence in the city.

“I have currently blocked the following imagery from circulating.” F.R.I.D.A.Y.’s voice spoke, a hint of taunting reproval in the VI’s voice as several grainier images and recordings appeared on screen. Following her official engagement, Valeria had attended the winning team’s after party, a night that would no doubt live in popculture infamy once more details had reached the wider public. Valeria had been there, in the transition managing to acquire herself a New York Giants cheerleader outfit which was clearly rather too small for her curvaceous form in what most would consider the right places. The picture F.R.I.D.A.Y had decided to place almost centre screen, no doubt a continuation of her playful teasing, was of Valeria, bottle of Dom Perignon in one hand, and her body titled towards and lips locked with an exceedinly tall, and exceedingly famous, man. “Might I remind you, Miss Richards, that Robert Brady II is currently engaged.”

Valeria didn’t engage with the teasing as she often did, flare ups of her neuro-server informing her of the building crisis of the day even as the United Empire’s systems became aware themselves of the violence within New York. It didn’t halt her response for a moment, but it simply brought out the sharp mind of purpose. “Keep it out of the press, but let father, and anyone else digging, find it.” She didn’t think Reed had enough familiaral instinct left to feel anything but an inkling of possessive anger at the sight, but he’d no doub be disappointed in how flippantly she treated her privledge and that was exactly the state of affairs she intended to keep for as long as possible. Even as she instructed F.R.I.D.A.Y. her hand waved over the interactive display of the mirror, arranging a second illicit meeting with the strapping example of American sporting royalty. That would only add to the headache. “I presume Dad just wanted to scold me for missing morning appointments, any requests to head to Baxter or the Ultimates?” She called out to the VI as she rose from the chair, making her way into the marble ensuite bathroom attached to her bedroom. That ‘hadn’t’ been a feature the Thing had originally installed, no doubt the touch of her mother or uncle when they’d been able to play with the spacial anomalies Reed had unlocked.

“None, the situation is in flux, they will wish to be sure of the conclusion before putting out a statement.” She could already script the speech they would give her, something along the lines of unity and security for the betterment of all. As the golden darling of the Empire they never gave her the statements of retribution and force. That was more ‘Doom.’

“Good, I’ve got other matters to attend to. The words were the last thing to leave her lips before the heat of water embraced her, her clothes tossed aside and hair held protected by the most flippant of spellwork, the blast from the showerhead washing the funk of the night before from her tanned skin. Even as she was aware of enjoying the relaxing moment elements of her mind were elsewhere. Through her neural link with F.R.I.D.A.Y. she could fully appreciate the string of alerts currently passing through United Empire channels. The deals in New York were going about as planned, even if the smuggled arms were reclaimed, the amoung of collateral Venom and her father’s thugs were willing to tolerate to succeed contributrd in its own way to the turning of New York against the Empire. It was a war they could win by losing the battle, or take both all the same. This was not what concerned her, the streets of New York were progressing in a manner which needed no direct intervention,

“Intruder in power armour, size-morphing, heading towards Section 2-B in Warehouse 4-” The voice chimed as if direclty in her ear, both the message and the nature of the voice concerning. The specific warehouse was one she had earmarked for some time for later use in the Underground’s struggle, and unknowns were not something she could accept. She’d also been directly involved, throrugh her various means, in the selection of staff at the facility after their recent change up, and that was not a voice she recognised. With a sigh, she stepped from the shower, looking forlornly to the comfortable robe she had planned to slip into to await her summons to aid her father, and instead paced from the room, drying herself with a drawn pattern in the air, hastily pulling on a pair of grey sweats from her wardrobe and a deep blue hoodie, her sneakers summoned to her with another wave of her hand. Once she had drawn close to being considered changed, her form flicked, phasing momentarily out of reality to arrive as if she had just been rushing at the pantry, her lovingly prepared breakfast prepared for her.

“Uh….Can I take this to go?” She asked with a slightly sheepish version of her winning smile, large eyes set on the form of Antony, daring him to refuse her with the full force of her charm.

If she was going to steal hyper advanced technology before it could be stolen in turn, she was hardly going to do it on an empty stomach.

Milo Ventorro - NYC Escaping the Killer Robots
"Yeah I'll take the wheel" Milo replied back to Ganni.

"Smart move bub" Logan replied to Milo's eagerness to drive happy that it freed Scott up. Scott had no argument moving out the way allowing Milo to grab the wheels & take charge of the hover craft they were operating. As Ganni opened up a portal to get the three human sized sentinels off their backs he responded in kind with his own addition to their escape plan. His eyes surged with his familiar red energy and beams soared out of them bursting through the rift in space that Ganni had fabricated with his own mutant powers. Thus the beams he propelled from his eye sockets flowed through the portal tearing through two of the sentinels but missing the last.

Luckily Ganni's strategy had proved to be a viable one, as even without Scott's powers damage had been done to the mutant hunting machines. They'd been diverted into a brick wall, making an impromptu entrance into a small family apartment that was luckily unoccupied at the time. Although when the family of four returned they'd be both shocked & angry to discover half of their kitchen wall had been demolished by sentinels. Two of which had been torn apart with surgical precision by Summers ray beams, although the third had taken some hefty damage. It had detected Scott's attack and made an evasive flight maneuver to avoid being penetrated by the destructive mutant energy.

Unfortunately the dodge tactics utilized by the third machine only increased the level of damage it took upon being teleported into said apartment by Ganni's abilities. It soared through the apartment before crashing into a glass kitchen table almost making it's way through the front door of the apartment. Still the Underground team had accomplished their goal of escaping the sentinels that were closing in them before any others could get a proper lock on the location. Milo wiped some sweat beads that formed from his forehead, and for the fist time was allowed to think about all the actions that had transpired. He saw Logan opening up the brief case running his hands through the money the guns sale with the bloods had generated and double checking that they'd been paid the full 70 thousand they were due. Fortunately for Killa he'd made the wise choice not to rip off the mutant freedom fighters and avoided meeting a gruesome fate at Logan's claws.

"Looks like you made the right call going to Killa, just got word in from our other weapons sale it didn't go down as smoothly." Logan replied before closing up the briefcase and Scott merely grunted in disproval at the commentary Wolverine had provided in regards to the success of the other weapon sale transaction the Underground had embarked on.

"Well we got ripped off the other sale was for 50 large, and we got 30 and the rest was counterfeit. But they didn't get into a battle with the Ultimates & get sentinels called on us, that's almost worth getting got for 20 grand considering the alternative has a potential to include death. I'm not blaming you guys though the MRD was running a sting operation, so one of the teams fencing weapons was bound to get into some shit today. Either way we all lived to see another day and that's what matters and now we're back at the safe house. Which thanks to Tamara's cloaking powers has remained undetected, plus we've got Frost on telepathic defense keeping us extra guarded for the time being that's the closest we'll get to absolute safety in the big apple. But we need to maintain a low profile especially with the beat down you gave Venom & all the Sentinels they got deployed." Scott concluded as Milo took a sharp right and pulled into the cargo bay of the safehouse getting the team home safely.

Selena - Phoenix Order - Downtown NYC
The Phoenix Order had launched an all out attack on civilians at remains of what was formerly Oscorp. Oscorp drones that had survived Selena’s stomping out of the main facility had been deployed in retaliation against the humongous woman & her followers. Of the numerous warring factions that bailed for control of the global populace. The Phoenix Order was amongst the most feared.

It wasn’t because of their ideology that preached the second coming of a new Dark Phoenix who would lay waste to the United Empire & lead mutant-kind into rising up to enslave humanity again. Although that particular belief was one that certainly attracted the wrong type of attention from anti mutant law enforcement agencies such as the MRD. IT was the blatant disregard for human lives, more frightening was their intent to target innocent civilians.

The Underground’s war for mutant equality certainly resulted in casualties from bystanders, that wasn’t something that could be disputed. Even by members of the group & perhaps behind closed doors even the Underground council. However there was a reason even if it was subconscious why people come out to record fights between the Ultimates & Underground, but crowds of people dispersed from the immediate area if the Phoenix Order was the target of the battle.

“Enough you all will die.” Travis yelled out leaping into the crowd grabbing a human sized sentinel and using his power. Red Energy surged from his body engulfing the sentinel nd it was converted into a cloud of dust. However the conversion had spawned the creation of waves of energy that Travis then dragged into his body granting him increased strength & durability. His power allowed him to convert inorganic matter into energy & feed on it for lack of a better word to boost his physical attributes.

Selena had placed him down on the ground to join his Phoenix brothers & sisters in their war against the citizens of the Big Apple. The MRD showed up in large force pulling up in standard vehicles, armored trucks & hover-vehicles to fight back against the Phoenix Order’s attack. Sirens could be heard blaring for miles a symphony of emergency vehicles that was a mixture of police, fire-fighters & ambulances all being called to the scene in droves.

“AAAAHHH” Selena screamed her lungs out at the assault being done by the stronger members of the Ultimates. While she considered herself thorough in her preparations this was unexpected, as her MRD source had informed her these three as well as some other “superheroes” she wanted to avoid wouldn’t be available to respond to the Oscorp attack at this time on this day. It seemed she’d need to exchange words with her source about the validity of his claims, if she made it through this tussle alive. Fortunately for them all she could focus on right now was her survival against these superhuman legends.

Hyperion’s blows on her temple made her crumble like paper making her towering height irrelevant in comparison to his vast strength. Blood was drawn from each blow that landed on her skull with an audible bone crunching crack being heard. The pain being dealt to her didn’t end there as the god of war had launched an attack on the back of her knees causing them to crumble, and as if someone in the commentary yelled temper she went down fast & hard.

Crashing into a building behind her, while Agatha cast a spell evacuating people from said building she crashed Into. Although she saved the people from that construct Selena positioned her arm against another building and grabbed onto it tearing through the building to get back up while blood dripped onto the streets below from her knee & temple. “The bitch is getting back up.”! Hyperion yelled out

“Hmph you know maybe throwing her down in the middle of a city wasn’t the best of ideas my solar friend, it’s one thing if the psycho order is seen killing people, but If we contribute I’d hate to loose my new action figure deal with Disney.” Ares complained using his divine power to allow Hyperion to hear him despite them being so very far away.

“The Order is responsible for too many intentional civilian deaths, and Nadarista is their leader, cut off the head and the rest will follow or however it goes.” Hyperion yelled back while Agatha just shook her head gathering her mystical energies to cast a protection spell on some surrounding buildings around the towering giant to mystically strengthen the building to prevent any more collateral damage.

Hyperion surged forward landing another blow on the towering giant this time body slamming into her chest causing her to yell out in pain again. “Such power he exudes, it almost makes my magic look insignificant in comparison” Agatha muttered to herself it was always a breath taking experience watching Hyperion in action. Sometimes she forgot the sheer raw power he wielded in battle as he like Ares & herself were so focused on the fame, fortune & celebratory status & perks that came with being an ultimate.

“Enough!!! It’s time to end this” Selena cried out as Hyperion charged again ready to end the fight with the mutant monolith.

“I’m in full agreement Ares you take out the rest of the trash & Agatha make sure the trash doesn’t take any more victims, I’m going to sweep up the queen bee bitch now.” Hyperion said with a thumbs up and a dashing smile upon seeing two photographers in the distance snapping a picture of him floating in the air. Hopefully they’ve got a good shot, although the real money shot is going to be me doing a full body dive through her neck followed by tearing her head off. I actually hope it stays big so I can get a picture of me standing on her giant decapacitated skull

He zoomed forward at full speed intending to follow through with his actions. Only to be surprised when he slammed into Selena and this time the blow didn’t cause her body to crumble. Instead it was like ramming into a wall of rubber. “What the hell.” Hyperion flew backwards then flew into her neck again feeling like he just body slammed a giant Mr. Fantastic. He quickly flew around her body punching and kicking her in the temple, neck, both of her shoulders and finally a double kick to her stomach. He then flew farther back at superhuman speeds changing his vision to X Ray wanting to see if perhaps her body had changed to being made of rubber, he had studied her profile & knew she could absorb powers from mutants she drained of life.

To his surprise the composition of her physical make up was still that of a regular woman, meaning another power or trick was at play here. “Come on man I like getting a good beat down on camera as much as the next god or ultimate, but If you don’t kill Nadarista I’m going to claim the glory.” Ares spoke as he unleashed a blast of invisible force that sent Travis sprawling through multiple parked cars, followed by a wave of energy to disintegrate a female member of the order that had charged him after “Flaming on” like human torch. He yawned as he disintegrate the pryokinetic woman and turned around at super speeds kicking another mutant woman sending her flying into the sky until she collided with a statue of a knight, instantly dying as her body was impaled through the statue’s blade.

“Why won’t you just die” Hyperion’s eyes surged with red energy as he unleashed his heat vision on Nadarista. Selena yelled out seemingly in pain as the uber powerful heat beams clashed against her breast. He continued putting more pressure into his powerful beams until he felt his eyes starting to overheat & itch thus he stopped. Selena’s body had no apparent burn marks and she grinned although she stumbled backwards shaking a bit as if in the early stages of a seizure.

“Go DOWN” Hyperion propelled his body like a cannon ball slamming into Selena, bu this time she went flying her whole body went aerial going over a row of buildings and crashing into one that wasn’t under Agatha’s protection spell. It was only due to his sharp super hearing that he could hear Agatha cursing about how his last blow had made her magical efforts to protect these powerless bystanders look bad, although he wasn’t concerned. Everything could be blamed on Nadarista, unless of course someone got that blow that sent her flying on camera. In which case he’d have to melt their recording device at super speed and maybe the recorder as well because stitches wasn’t enough for his stitches, disintegration was the modern way. “Haven’t you ever heard the phrase it’s not all about the size or however it goes.”

“Haven’t you ever heard the phrase get bent, bitch” Selena retorted as she got up from the building Hyperion’s attack had rammed her Into. Hyperion surged forward only to be shocked when Selena raised up her giant elbow with enough speed to not only block his attack but knock him back. She then punched him releasing kinetic energy gathered from him in a powerful explosive blow. The hero was sent flying through the air bloody while she used said kinetic energy to speed walk no doubt stomping out the lives of nosy citizens trying to watch before her hands clasped around Hyperion. “Now your mine” She gloated using her base power to began draining life force energy from the solar hero. She cackled manically as energy surged from the living sun battery leader of the Ultimates into her giant form.

Within minutes she released her grasp of Hyperion then spun around kicking him sending him crashing into one of the protection spell buildings. The force of the kick overwhelming the spell causing him to cave in a few floors of the building. “Damn that hurt like a motherfucker.” Hyperion cried out wiping blood from his face as it felt like he got hit by himself only giant sized. Not only that he felt a pinge of fatigue as so much energy had been drained from him. He looked up picking up a massive amount of heat in the massive extremist, and his eyes widened in shock. “No damn it….she used one power to get my kinetic energy and then her own power…to get mines..”

In response to his fear fueled comments Selena could only clap her hands in applause. “That’s right you Superman rip off, wow I must say this super hearing trick of yours is wonderful. I admit when I get this big sometimes it’s hard to here the full amount of pain & distress of the squishy humans below but now I can hear it all, it’s like HD hearing, honestly all of your power is just so fucking amazing!!!!! I didn’t know if it would work what with you not being a mutant, but I’m happy to say this experiment worked out tremendously pun most intended. It’s been a while since I’ve said this to one of my victims, but truly Hyperion I must say thank you for your power.”

“Oh shit…” Hyperion cursed as he almost covered his eyes from the bright glare that came from Selena’s gargantuan eyes. Honestly that helped brace himself for the impact of her laser eyes that demolished the entire building he crashed into, only the heroes loud screams could be heard.

“What the fuck Hyperion!!” Agatha yelled out upon seeing the massive explosion generated from the building being demolished. Ares whipped his head around too only to see the giant Selena vanished.

“Damn it I told him not to screw around, his energy signature faded, wait now he has two energy signatures, but where’s the other..” Ares voice trailed off as he used his godly powers to fully access the situation that was turning around in the enemy’s favor
“AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”Agatha cried out as a normal sized Selena stood behind her having punched a hole through her chest and used her base powers again to drain the witch of life, now at superhuman speeds coursesy of Hyperion’s powers. “ARES HEEEELPP”
“Shut up witch” Selena said sadistically as she cast a spell engulfing the woman in mystical energy causing cobra snakes of darkness to spawn from her body that began biting into Agatha’s, followed by another spell that summoned burning hot sand in a wave the sent her body flailing across the street crashing into a nearby deli.

“Agatha!” Ares ran forward body slamming two mutants and a convoy of MRD agents to get over to his magical team-mate. He quickly took her in his arms using a full body energy wave to blast apart the sand wave, and suddenly caused multiple plasma rifles to appear in the air surrounding Selena. Using his powers over war to surround her in armed and ready to fire plasma rifles infused with his divine olympian energy.

“Now you die! FIRE!!” Ares cried out commanding the assortment of floating godly rifles to blast her into oblivion.
“Not so fast” Selena cried out quickly muttering an incantation at super speed causing sigils to appear around the whole city block banishing Ares & Agatha both from the area. The anti godly sigils also banished the row of floating rifles around her just in time. As soon as she completed the banishing spell she let out a sigh of relief, as the amount of power in the attack would have rendered her mortal coil lifeless even with the power she’d just taken from Hyperion & Agatha, as Ares had poured his full rage into that war manipulation attack.

“Hmph well that takes care of that and with a wonderful parting gift.” II’ve got magic running through my body with greater potential then anything I could have learned from my mama, and the Loud mouthed so called leader’s solar powers speak for themselves. She was ecstatic with the newfound power flowing through her body. When the Ultimate had begun their joint assault on here mere moments after kicking & stomping this Oscorp facility into dust, she expected the worst.

She burst into the air pile diving through four MRD hover vehicles, her newly gained strength doing critical damage to each vehicle. She only laugh as they spun out of control while she added to the damage with a blast of heat vision tearing through said four vehicles sending them plummeting to the streets below two crashing into buildings and the other two literally raining down onto the street below.

Members of the Phoenix Order could be heard cheering for their leader & themselves as the tide of the battle had turned completely in their favor with the defeat of Hyperion, Ares & Agatha.”Time to shake things up a bit, to deliver a message to our people that soon we shall rise again from the ashes of the hellish grave humanity has dug for us. Our Dark Flaming Winged leader’s return is imminent and so is our domination of humanity that endured during her previous reign of power.” Her voice carried to all the members of the phoenix order present on the battlefield that were still alive as well as all attacking NYPD, MRD & even bystander civilians.

The declaration of the originator of the Dark Phoenix Crisis who had plunged the earth & rest of the galaxy/universe at large into chaos had done exactly as she intended. While the responding law enforcement to the destruction didn’t allow ant outside fear or panic to manifest the same could not be said for the civilians who were already worried & full of distress. With that she utilized her mass powers to alter her height to gargantuan proportions once again. Using her newfouund mystical prowess she muttered an incantation which carved phoenix symbols into the arriving Alpha Sentinels as well as the deployed oscorp drones below.

Altering their functions to be protectors of mutantkind &. Hunters of humans as well as all things not mutants. With their new orders the mystically turned alpha sentinels & oscorp drones turned to open fire on MRD, NYPD & innocent bystanders. Selena used her powers over darkness to began enveloping the members of the order using shadow teleportation to remove them from the battle worn streets of NYC from around the scene of the oscorp attack. “Time for me to make my escape as well but I leave you this parting gift.” Mustering up the powers of darkness she formed massive shadow tendrils that soared in every direction through police cruisers, MRD vehicles, and smashing through several buildings around the area full of people, followed by heat vision while still massive decimating the buildings already torn into by her shadow tendrils. Laughing manically she reverted to normal size allowing the darkness to consume her as she too shadow traveled to the same location she had the shadows take the other members of the order.

Vanquisher

Time: Ehhhh
Location: Downtown, NYC
Interactions:
Mentions: Selena @Chulance

By the time Vanquisher arrived on the scene, the Phoenix Order leader known as Selena Nadarista had dismantled all three ultimates that had arrived. Hyperion, Agatha Harkness, and Ares were all defeated due to the mutant’s might. Vanquisher and the sentinels flying alongside him backed away as the tendrils of darkness shot out with Selena’s destructive exit.

“Sh- This situation on site is not favorable. Three ultimates were defeated and Phoenix order managed to escape and severely damage Oscorp. It is likely the physical prototype formula for the cure to the X-gene has been destroyed… Sentinels, begin recovery of any useful assets and destroy the rogue automated units. Prioritize Oscorp and the prototype cure. Leave the civilians to the local emergency units.” Vanquisher looked upon the destruction, appearing to scan the area to collect data on the events that occurred. With Hyperion, Ares, Agatha, and Brock currently out of commission, that left few Ultimates present in the city or even on the planet due to Danvers and Sentry currently being off-world. He himself wouldn’t be enough to face off against the Phoenix Order that had now obtained their second in command and more abilities to add into Selena Nadarista’s arsenal. He could have joined the sentinels in their search, but deemed the task as being too lowly. Without allowing another idle second pass, Vanquisher took off into the skies to focus his attention on another incident in Quantico, Virginia. Vanquisher needed more… more of him, but it was not yet a possibility… not yet.

“Fuck.”

Ganymede Madrigal - Hyperdrive

...plus we've got Frost on telepathic defense keeping us extra guarded for the time being that's the closest we'll get to absolute safety in the big apple. But we need to maintain a low profile especially with the beat down you gave Venom & all the Sentinels they got deployed." Scott concluded as Milo took a sharp right and pulled into the cargo bay of the safehouse getting the team home safely.

Ganni quietly got down from the hovercar, pulling the gas mask from his head. He wasn't looking his best today, especially after the nerve wracking chase that they just had with Sentinels and Ultimates. He was always told that they had to keep a low profile, lay low, ensure that the Mutant Response Division and their big wigs in the Ultimates were looking at the other way when the Underground was doing something important. This altercation, however, certainly wasn't subtle. It was the complete opposite of subtle. It was loud, and told the world that mutants were still out there, free of the damning laws that the United Empire had enforced upon the entire planet. And that a simple mutant freak was able to defeat Venom in single combat.

"Ganni, hey." Ganymede turned towards a familiar voice, a sister from another mother. It was Ophelia, another mutant whose power was small scale precognition. She probably already knew he and the team were going to be here five seconds prior to their arrival, but anyway, she was by no means a fighter.

"What did you do this time?" Ophelia asked, giving Ganni a tight hug as she was quite worried. "The news is buzzing about Venom being blasted with quite a few collateral deaths along the way. Oh, and the Sentinels were chasing you around, too?"

"Don't worry about it," Ganni shrugged, walking alongside her towards the safehouse itself. "Milo wrecked Venom's face. Speaking of which..."

The now maskless Ganni wheeled around and waved at Milo, a frown visible. "Don't do that again," he hissed at the much taller Mutant. "We know that Venom is vulnerable to fire, but you just had to give the black goo's a test drive before blasting it with fire? I just-, ugh. We dawdled for a little too long there, if you know what I mean."

Ophelia whispered at Milo, not bothering to attempt hiding what she was saying from Ganni. "He's worried about your safety."

Monsters, mutants and magic.
It all came down to monsters, mutants and magic. Harold sighed after a long day at work. Sitting down at his desk, he reflected on his day.
It all started like most days. A quick visit to 177A Bleecker Street. To make sure everything was as it should. The old home of Dr Strange tended to attract some unwanted attention from mystical trouble makers. The odd hedge wizard or witch trying to sneak in to see if they could recover any of the artefacts that used to be housed there. Given the buildings history, it was no surprise the MRD wanted to keep tabs on it, no matter how many times the building had Ben repossessed. After it became apparent that nothing was afoot on this particular day, Harold Hunter had to check on reports of a strange animal attack. NYPD forensic scientists said it didn’t match anything in their database, which meant it would be one of the three ‘M’s. This particular instance was a mutant. Not Harold’s usual enemy, but he would still get payed. He just wished that the mutant hadn’t gotten its claws into him.
Harold rolled his stiff shoulder. The Blood Gem serum had boosted his healing, and he was grateful for it. Though it was still a bit tender. The damn mutant nearly tore his arm clean off. He wasn’t sure the magic coursing through his veins would be enough to regrow a whole limb.
Unlocking the top drawer of his desk, he placed his service sidearm inside and closed it. Locking it again. Harold then opened drawer beneath it and produced a bottle of whiskey. “You know your not supposed to drink at work.” A familiar voice said from behind Harold. “Shove it up your ass, Ainsley.” Was Harold’s response as he opened the bottle. “Hey, you know I won’t tell Sharon,” The man known as Ainsley said as he took a seat on the corner of Harold’s desk. Harold took a swig of the whiskey. There was a number of things Harold wanted to say. A witty retort about how Sharon never had her arm nearly removed, so she couldn’t tell them not to drink. A less witty remark about how he shouldn’t have to deal with rogue mutants if the boys upstairs did their job. Instead he remained silent and offered Ainsley the bottle. The older gentleman took the bottle and took a swig himself. “Busy day?” Ainsley asked. “That’s one word for it, was Harold’s half hearted reply. “We’ll drink up.” Ainsley put the bottle down in front of Harold. “Sharon said they’re not letting us take leave until this Hammer thing is sorted out.”
Harold took a swig. “You know, I could use a sparring partner. I was going to take my wife out for a vacation, and I got to work some of that anger out before I do something that’ll make me lose my job,” Ainsley said. He stood up, and patted Harold on the back. “I’ll see you in the training room.” With that, Ainsley headed off to the elevator and left. Leaving Harold alone with his thoughts.

Rosalie Zadoorian - Primora

Rosalie’s fight against Colby continued with each exchanging heavy hits to the other, even if Rose wasn’t using her full strength at the time, she was landing some pretty heavy hits on Colby. Even if he wouldn’t listen to her or reason, she still had no desire to hurt someone she used to call a friend but it was starting to get ridiculous. He was so full of rage and the need to get revenge, nothing was getting through to him. “Enough!” she cried out as she punched him in the stomach harder than she had before, sending him back a couple of feet and into a wall. His grunt from the punch and crash into the wall echoed in the alley they were in. Clutching his stomach as he hunched over, he looked up at her with a glare and a bit of surprise in his eyes from the force of the punch. Rosalie stood tall, her hands clenched into tight fists as she stared at him, a fire burning within her hazel eyes. “I told you I didn’t want to fight you and I’ve tried my best to keep from hurting you, but you’ve pushed me too far.” she said with hurt and anger in her tone. “You’ve left me no choice but to fight and now…. You’re about to learn I’m one person you shouldn’t have picked a fight with.”

A smirk made its way to Colby’s lips as he straightened, wiping blood from his mouth with his free hand and still clutching his stomach. “Aww, did I hurt the little princess's feelings.” he said in a mock baby voice. “Come on Rosie, I didn’t think you could get your feelings hurt so easily.” The use of two of her most hated nicknames caused her to narrow her eyes at Colby and clench her jaw before her fists clenched more, causing her nails to dig into her palm. “What hurts most is knowing I lost a friend that I considered family.” she shot back. At that moment, she took a deep breath and a light glow formed in her eyes, wiping the smirk from Colby’s lips. “What the hell are you? A mutant?” he asked in a demanding tone. “A soon-to-be nightmare.” she replied. Lifting her right hand to rest in front of her, she uncurled her fingers and electricity bounced from finger to finger. Rose looked at her fingers for a moment, a smirk now coming to her lips before lifting her gaze to look back at Colby, who now had a slightly worried look upon his face. Flicking her finger, she sent a bolt of electricity towards Colby, hitting the wall behind him and dangerously close to his head and sending pieces of brick scattering in all directions, causing his eyes to become saucers.

Shaking himself to rid himself of his fear, he glared at Rose. “I always knew you were one of those freaks, and it explains why you didn’t help me that day!” Colby yelled at her. “Even if you didn’t know them, you were still on their side and you didn’t care what happened to some human!” Rose sighed heavily at his words, closing her eyes briefly before her hazel gaze met his pale blue. The electricity that bounced on her fingers formed into a ball in the palm of her hand as she glared at him. “Would you listen to yourself and hear just how ridiculous you sound!” she snapped. “After everything, we went through before that day, do you seriously think I would purposely let them beat the hell out of you and kill you?!” It was clear frustration had finally gotten to her, her hand flexed and took on a more claw-like appearance before she threw the ball of electricity at Colby, it hit the ground just inches from his left foot and caused him to jump to the right. His glance to the fried ground before looking back at her didn’t go unnoticed. Unclenching her left fist, she brought it up and ran it through her hair to brush away the hair that had fallen in her face, sighing once again.

“You always were hardheaded and it seems that hasn’t changed with our time apart.” she almost whispered. The next thing she knew, Colby pulled a pistol from the back of his pants and shot at her. Lucky for her, his aim was off and the bullet whizzing towards her only grazed her right cheek before embedding itself into the wall behind her. Surprise overtook the smirk that was once upon Rose’s face as blood seeped from the fresh wound on her cheek. She never expected him to have a gun. In the past, he hated them and swore he’d never own one or even touch one. It seemed his traumatic event had changed all that. Collecting herself, her mind began to work overtime. She knew the gunshot would no doubt bring unwanted attention into the alley, and that would risk her being exposed as a non-human, that was something that just couldn’t happen. She was going to have to get this matter taken care of quickly. If only she had the ability to erase or manipulate parts of his memory, it would make this so much easier. Then again, maybe a little bit of electroshock therapy could help remedy that problem when she had him subdued.

As she focused once more on Colby, he pointed his gun at her once more, his finger hovering over the trigger, and his hand slightly trembling. “Today is the day I get my revenge.” he spoke in a growl-like tone. As he squeezed the trigger, Rose threw another ball of electricity at him as she dove behind a dumpster for cover. Her attack hit its mark, his left leg giving him a good little shock and sending him to his hands and knees with a yell of pain as his shot hit where she was standing just moments before. Taking to her feet, Rose stepped out from behind the dumpster and shot a bolt at his gun, sending it flying down the alley. Rose closed some of the gap between them, keeping another attack at the ready should she need it. Colby pushed himself back onto his knees and glared up at Rosalie. “You stupid b, gahhhhhh!” He was cut off by Rosalie hitting him with a continuous stream of electricity coming from both of her hands, sending to all fours. Then using the same stream, flipped him onto his back. “Didn’t your mother teach you better than to talk to a lady in such a way?” she said before giving him a good zap before she stopped shocking him. “Not when it comes to women like you.” Colby grunted once he caught his breath.

“What a shame.” she whispered as her head dipped and shook as her eyes closed. Colby took this moment as an opportunity to pull another gun he had hidden on himself and fire a shot at Rose. By the time Rose heard the click, it was too late to even try to dodge the bullet to keep it from hitting her. As she opened her eyes, she leaned to the right, and the bullet connected with her left shoulder causing her to cry out in pain and stumble back. Grabbing her shoulder and gaining her footing, she glared down at Colby as he began to take to his feet. “Son of a bi……” she trailed off as pain and anger coursed through her. “You’re going to regret doing that.” she said through gritted teeth. Rose sent a new stream of electricity at him that was even stronger than the last. Colby’s scream echoed in the alley as she collapsed and face-planted onto the ground. She then used the same attack to fling him up and into a wall before slamming back down on the ground. Stopping the attack, she carefully knelt down and placed a hand upon the ground. The ground beneath Colby began to tremble and crack before becoming a sand-like consistency and started to pull Colby within it. “What are you doing?! Stop!” he yelled but he was only answered with silence. She fully intended to bury him up to at least his neck but if he pulled something else, she could easily completely bury him.

Kano Thorson - New York City
Traveling to Midgard had been a choice he wanted to make. Growing up to stories of his brave courageous father Thor he had much to live up too. While it had been many decades since the spell was cast that banished the denizens of Asgard from earth he was still able to view the realm with aid from Heimdall. His viewings of the developments in the mortal world had disgusted him. The sheer amount of oppression & discrimination against the mutant populace was disheartening to him.

As the future king of Asgard he sought to be a kind & understanding being. He wanted to implement freedom in all 9 realms & ensure all the residents would be allowed a life of fairness & freedom. In his eyes the United Empire was a freedom deterrent & therefore just as much a threat to the liberty of the realms as an army of frost giants or murderous rock trolls.

Of course since being on earth he was upset that he’d been rendered mortal. Still at the very least he was grateful he wasn’t powerless having still retained his mutant superhuman powers. He’d never bothered to master his superhuman abilities, but in the past few weeks he’d grown more adept with the use of those powers.

“I need to find mighty mjolnir sooner or later. It’s been almost 2 months since I’ve wielded the hammer & the power of the gods.” Kano muttered to himself as he took a few sips of his cold ice tea. He was positioned in a jamaican restaurant feasting on a combination of jerk chicken, plantains & pilaf rice.

You have to listen to me. There’s a bigger threat, you do need your hammer. KIVA is the biggest evil, the mortals shall meet their end by the hand of this murderous machine. This madness will not stop at the ravaging of Midgard, all the realms will face peril under the threat of KIVA once it sweeps mutant kind off the table. Future Kano communicated to the Kano of the present as he gulped down more of the home made sweet tea.

“This again…who are you? Where are you?” Kano inquired slamming his fist against the table, drawing some judgmental looks & aggravated glares from a few other customers as well as the two employees working who were the entirety of the wait staff currently.

It was lunch rush so there wasn’t much activity. He didn’t even bother to look around to check the visual cues he was getting from others present as it appeared like he was just siting & talking to himself. His future self determined to showcase more of the future continued to push to show him further messages. The god turned man felt a hinge of pain as his vision became blurry. Suddenly he was pulled into an entirely different location, his mind that is. Leaving his body a physical shell at the table who didn’t even respond when either the waitress or waiter came by o ask if he needed a refill of his ice tea.

Flashes of visions filled his mind. He saw nuclear missiles soaring through the sky, then saw a view of the earth from outer space. From his perspective he wad an astral projection floating on the outskirts of space near the earth. The view changed to multiple locations around the globe watching nukes rain down. Entire cities were decimated, nuclear explosions engulfed the planet. Civilization was torn apart, people screaming in horror as they were irradiated, burned & disintegrated from the global nuclear holocaust.

This was followed by visions of armies of machines marching through the decimated remains of earth. Alpha Sentinels, Omega Sentinels, oscorp drones, android sentinels, iron drones, iron man suits piloted by AI, drones etc & more. They spread throughout the earth taking orders from an android cyborg name KIVA with red hair, and a blue white robotic power suit around it’s/her synthetic skin floating in the air issuing commands to the army.

He saw visions of humans & mutant survivors of the nuclear holocaust hiding & living in bunkers underground. Stock piling weapons, superhuman training their powers at dirty underground safe-houses, and said underground warehouses getting raided by KIVA’s machine armies. All of this is the work of KIVA, even the dreaded United Empire is but a pawn to this civilization erasing threat. You must find the others, and place them together in a unified front. Get them operational to battle against KIVA!! Also the hammer has been taken by the DAA, it is Before Future Kano could speak anymore the vision ended.

Screaming and yelling was heard, followed by the sound of robotic voices, and lasers going off. The vision from his future self fizzled out the last sounds he heard where yelling that “KIVA’s here” & explosions. Coming back to his senses Kano could only shake his hand, taking out his phone he glanced down a the time. He’d been spaced out traveling through visions of the future for almost fifteen minutes.

For the past few days he’d been getting audio messages from his future incarnation, but today he’d been pulled deeper into the future than ever before. This time he’d truly seen the devastation & destruction this KIVA would bring about the world. Going to google he typed in the word KIVA, and took a sip of his drink as information came up from different search results.

“KIVA the world’s leader, the god of the new age, the leader the citizens of the empire need.” Kano continued to read as he found a wikapedia entry about KIVA, it was worshipped as some sort of deity to the united empire’s global populace. He decided he’d need to a lot time for more research into this KIVA, as well as figure out the identities of the other people he saw with his future self in the underground bunker. He felt that those individuals would be the most likely to aid him in his quest of liberating the world from the threat of both the United Empire & this dastardly KIVA.

Tori

Time: Afternoon
Location: Skys above Washington D.C. Metro

Tori pushed the yoke to the right letting the plane start to tumble that direction. It would not take long till they were cartwheeling. The radio squawked warnings of entering a no-fly zone. She called her May-days again and flipped the restart switch on the engine. It took three times to get the engine to restart. Now she needed to flatten her tumble and level out.

The only landmark she could make out was the Washington Monument, she kept her eyes on it and jerked the yoke right then left pressing the rudder with her feet till she managed to flatten out. Soon as she could she pulled the yoke away from the capital and aimed for Regan International. She declared her emergency as she heard metal coming apart in the bottom of the plane. The plane started to rattle as the mutant freed the cargo in the hold.

Tori ended up dropping the plane on the far taxiway of the airfield sliding down the asphalt causing sparks and flames to erupt from the underside of the plane she slid about half the runway length when an explosion hit flipping the plane on its back.

Location: NYC, Cerberus HQ | Interaction: Open

The glow of the computer screen danced upon the curves and crevices of his face. Of Max's face. He stared blankly at a revolving assortment of images and words, absorbing the information like a sponge. His supernatural garb was back in its metal case mere feet away from where he currently sat. With his elbows resting on the table, hands clasped around themselves in a manner that almost looked as if he were praying, Max sat in silence in his work uniform at the center of his dimly lit office that sat thirteen stories up in a building just outside of the heart of New York.

After The Hood had brought those world-be victims down to safety, it was time for him to change tactics. Hood was strong, powerful even, but only when compared to normal humans. Against these mutants and government sanctioned super powered maniacs, The Hood could only accurately describe himself as a small fish in a great sea. While he was deficient in godly might, he was confident he could make up for it in tactical expertise.

Earlier, The Hood had made his way back to his parked vehicle just outside the dock, figuratively tip-toeing under the noses of sentinel and MRD agents alike as he employed various measures of stealth to traverse the distance without incident. Is was only when he was back safely in his car that he dared to remove his cloak and boots, becoming Max Robbins once more. From there, his next moves were clear; Retreat and regroup.

His stomach had churned at the mention of calamity at the Oscorp building and it took everything in him not to throw on the cloak once more and charge into the fray, but that would be a fool's errand. Instead, he kept his wits about him. He needed to do more research if he was planning to inject himself into this ongoing hostility.

"He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight."

Video footage continued to play on Max's computer screen. Overhead shots of various mutant terroristic incidents (as they were labelled in the media) displayed some familiar faces and showcased some of the powers they possessed. With each demonstration, Max made a mental note. That one seems to be able to shoot blasts from their eyes. That other one healed from nearly being decapitated in what seemed like mere seconds...

He continued taking it all in silently as the images shifted from mutant to Ultimates. He looked for even the most minute tells, anything that could indicate a weakness or irritant. His first-hand experience told him all he needed to know about Venom and his particular limitations. As he continued compiling his mental notes, he began pondering on how he could exploit those vulnerabilities. What upgrades and alterations could he make to force gods to falter?

"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles."

Suddenly the phone upon Max's desk chirped to life. The display screen illuminated the name 'Derek Eastwind'. Max took hold of the mouse just long enough to pause the digital footage on the computer before pressing a button on the phone.

"Derek." His tone was solemn, matter of fact.

"Mr. Robbins, sorry to bother. We've got a problem," announced the deep, raspy voice on the other end of line. Max's heart sank just a bit. No one officially knew he was The Hood, not even the people he employed. If 'we have a problem,' then it was a Max problem. Just icing on the cake of chaos that was already entangling his super hero alter ego.

"Speak on it," Max demanded stoically.

"It's Mr. Li, sir." The Roxxon millionaire that Max had escorted to work just that morning.

"What about him?" Emotion was slowly creeping out of Max's throat. Mr. Li was one of Cerberus' whale accounts. Max made his life a priority and would even personally dedicate his own time to making sure Mr. Li was untouchable.

"I'm sure you heard about that battle royale," Derek began to explain, referring to the afternoon's super powered spectacle. "Well Murphy received Mr. Li after his meeting this morning was was taking him back to his penthouse. Murphy's GPS showed steady movement for the majority of the travel duration, but then the signal went dark."

"Where did it go dark?"

"The GPS stopped transmitting in Midtown."

"Manhattan." The word seethed out from Max's teeth as he skin began to flush with warmth.

"Yes, sir. Right around-"

"-where the Ultimates took on the Phoenix Order," Max finished, his voice increasingly louder with each word. "FUCK!" He grabbed hold of the phone and threw it against the wall, letting the dark plastic shatter into fragments. He could feel the tempo of his heartbeat racing. Was his most prized client still alive? Did those super powered homicidal maniacs just turn him into another casualty? Max forced himself to breath slower as he leaned over his desk in defeat. It was all just too much...

No. His eyebrows raised as an epiphany began settling in. You're not defeated. You're just getting started.

With his breathing back under control, he pulled his chair out for himself and sat back down before hitting the play button on the footage again. Hopefully Mr. Li was still alive, but running back out into the storm right now would be a fruitless effort. It was time to prepare. If the tyrannical 'heroes' and the chaotic mutants insisted on having their war at the expense of everyone else, then it was high time Max got off the sideline.

“Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.”

Isaac / Heat

Time: Morning
Location: South Bronx, NYC
Interactions: Rosalie @Wolvena
Mentions: Selena @Chulance

It’ll work! Primora! The timing is what gets her in! You’ll know when you meet her! Get to NYC! Help her! Help Primora!

Isaac briefly shook his head as he attempted to get the haunting message out of his head. The man was currently walking along the wide scuffed sidewalks of a low-income south Bronx residential area. He wore dark blue jeans, a white cotton t-shirt, a black hoodie, and black sneakers. The scenery around him wasn’t much to look at. The faded brown project buildings towered up twenty stories scattered amongst old parks, corner stores, and food joints. Unlike downtown Manhattan, this part of the city wasn’t so bustling and it made more sense to use a personal vehicle to get around. Sure, at night you ran the risk of getting your car broken into if you happened to leave anything of interest inside. Then again, one could argue it was better than getting jumped or held up for all your possessions while walking around during that same time. Isaac walked. He wasn’t fearful, never looked like an easy target, and of course he concealed-carried a Glock 17 given to him by the Order the first day he was assigned to the city.

The thought of informing Selena of the mental message he had received from the future crossed his mind nearly every day, but part of him didn’t believe it. In this world it was fairly likely, but the world ending in several months just didn’t seem possible. Even if he did fully believe it, how could he inform Selena that their mission fails. That the Phoenix was not able to save their Order. If it’s the future, how is placing some woman on the enemy’s side a benefit? And why me? Wha-

A shot rang out, causing him to look in the direction of it. It was fairly closeby, but Isaac knew that surviving these streets meant you minded your own business. He figured it was a warning shot if anything. He continued on, but after several more strides, a second shot rang out. He normally wouldn’t care, but he was itching for a bit of action. He hadn’t been permitted to assist the Order in rescuing Travis due to his abilities still being “under review.”

A third shot rang out. It warranted his full attention.

“Third time’s the charm.” Isaac muttered as he walked briskly in the direction of the gunfire. He didn’t notice anyone picking up their phone to dial for the police. Typical New York… Works for me, though. He took a deep breath. In through the nose, out through the mouth.

“I see a nail salon, drug store, and that damned chicken spot.”

“But here I go, headed for that third fired gunshot,”
Isaac said under his breath. Suddenly, his intuition pulled him in the direction of the disturbance after mumbling his rhyme. He probably could have found his way by weaving through the area but getting lost in this part of the Bronx would only spell trouble for him, even with his powers. He strolled into an alley between some beat-up buildings where he could hear an exchange between two people.

“You’re going to regret doing that.”

“What are you doing?! Stop!”

Isaac arrived to see a man buried up to his neck in sand and a woman standing over him clutching her shoulder. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to guess who was shot at. To Isaac, the scene before him appeared to be mutant discrimination at its finest. Makes sense. We’re the less than. He was sure the buried asshole antagonized the woman with the gun sprawled on the floor and she finally had enough after he shot her. Three shots rang, but the woman was holding just her shoulder with no other blatant gunshot wounds. Isaac assumed the woman was one of those soft mutants, like the ones that were part of the Underground. They were the types that held back in the face of humankind. Why should the powerful tiptoe around the powerless?

“You gonna bury him or what? It doesn’t matter how much you scare him, he’ll tell people what you are.” Isaac figured his sudden arrival would startle the woman, so he approached slowly with a calm expression. He didn’t like fighting his own kind. “I mean, if you’re not about it…” Isaac strolled past Rosalie and crouched down in front of Colby’s head. “I can make him forget.”

Collab with @Ruby and @The Man Emperor

New York City, Long Island, Airport Industrial Zone.
Damage Control's Long Island Secure Storage Facility.

Grey sweats and the deep blue of a Giants fan hoodie was hardly the most heroic of outfits, but combined with a similarly blue fabric facemask and black cartier shades was enough to mask her identity, and not to mention she had them all on hand. Once she’d collected her breakfast and coffee, Valeria quite flippantly forged a break through reality, the searing light of the magic she had learned from Doom burning into reality within the most secure chamber of the warehouse. As the portal sealed behind her, winking out of existence, Valeria kept the mask down for the moment. She had a few moments before any potential intruders could burst through into the chamber, and her breakfast was still hot.

Sitting cross legged atop one of the secure crates of sealed away technology, Valeria got to work on the avocado, bacon and egg mayo sandwich, the seeded granary bread it was encased in a selection of taste rather than any effort to salvage the health impact of the overpacked sandwich. Between bites and sips of coffee, she watched the scene progress on the screen of a data tablet. Whoever the initial assailant was, and she had a few rather accurate guestimates, they were making short work of the security, a combination of power armour and advanced drones seemed to be the cause of the imbalance. The second anomaly, the female voice she hadn’t recognised, had yet to show up on any of the surveillance footage she currently had access to. That only furthered her feeling that her direct intervention was necessary. Mundane theft could be accounted for, but beings beyond her ability to monitor were always worth encountering.

The first clangs of the doorway into the chamber heralded the imminent arrival of the known aggressor, and she hurried through the last bites of her breakfast, the mask pulled up over her mouth as she hopped off the crate, moving to the middle of the room even as the chamber opened, the hurried pace of her mind settling on her final, best estimate.

"Mr Angstrom, you're early." She didn't quite offer to shake his hand, the distance was for the moment too great anyway, but the mask across her mouth couldn't mask the generally chipper tone of her words.

“...What did you just call me?” Angstrom stammered, the drone swarm that trailed behind him pausing in absolute concert. He thought that in the forty years since he first entered the cryo chamber and was then presumed dead in the Dark Phoenix Crisis, he would have been forgotten, lost to time as everyone’s focus went towards the rebuilding of the world. U apparently someone remembers. Certainly not someone he once knew in the past, since the voice of the woman was too young, her movement crisp with youth.

“So do I know you from somewhere?” Baldur asked, his helmet still scanning for threats. “And are you here to stop me from getting my own technologies?”

"Despite what my Richards and Stark might claim, there are some fields of technology others have better claim to." Valeria began as way of an introductory explanation, one hand flicking to motion to the drones. She wasn't referencing the devices themselves, but the manipulation of their size that had allowed their entry. "And despite their best efforts, I know where all the Pymms are...so...Mr Angstrom. I suppose that's where Stark's missing suit went." While it was hidden by the material of her mask, her voice certainly sounded like it had just upturned into a smile.

"I want to understand what it is you want it for." She continued as way of an explanation, as non-committal as she wished to be at this stage.

"Angstrom Defense tech, the things that my family and I invented," Baldur replied, this time with a much calmer voice. "You probably know that we didn't just copy others' ideas, though that was the common theme."

Baldur gestured towards one of the stasis orbs that lay on his palm, giving it a little shake. "We revolutionized stasis and cryogenics. It is how I and many others survived the Dark Phoenix crisis and the successive waves of alien attacks. We slept through all of it, thinking the world will soon be scoured clean of all life. Apparently it just scoured itself of all common decency."

“We survived, but we’ve fallen far.” Valeria responded, her stance slackening somewhat as she regarded the armoured man, her right hip popped to the side as she favoured the other leg in her casual stance. Were it not for circumstances of the meeting the sight would have been more familiar to her attempting to decide between purchases than a clandestine meeting among a ravaged government warehouse.

“I ask, because there are those of us fighting for a new day, and what can be found here can be put to that use. I have no desire to keep you from what is yours, or your family, but if all you’re going to do is take it and scurry back underground, we need it more, here and now.” Her stance or tone didn’t change, nothing but honesty in her words, even as she hovered close to a threat. It seemed ludicrous, the girl in sweatpants toe-to-toe with the power armoured figure before her, but if the issue of mutants had taught the world anything, it’s that a casual dress sense didn’t mean you couldn’t flatten a city block, or trigger a global genocide.

"Those who fight for a new day…" Baldur trailed off, repeating Valerie's words as if he was trying to memorize them. Truth be told, he still couldn't figure out many of the odd pieces of the puzzle that is the world today; the apparent fall of superheroes into glorified celebrities, the concentration camps for everyone with an X Gene, and the not-so-subtle Xterminate Bill. Everything has gone down into a horrid path.

"Maybe I can help you," Baldur replied, lifting up the visor of the helmet to reveal his face. "And perhaps each other? I am still piecing together the puzzle of the world's bloodied status, and if you're fighting to bring it back to what it once was… I'd like to see that happen."

The Angstrom scion glanced towards the crates, shrugging. "But I'm still taking a few. For the purpose of… replication."

“Would you both hurry up?”

The eldritch armour of Magik’s left arm had covered the arm entirely, and spiked charcoal black spikes of varying degrees from her wrist to her shoulder blade. There were no other spikes on her, though the rest of her outfit matched the material and colour. Save for one item; the gold Eye of Agamotto that now rested on the top of her breasts, cold metal on warm skin. Illyana Rasputin was best at fighting, an elite warrior in any time, place, or dimension. It was a bloodlust that needed satiation beyond a few humans pretending to be mutant hunters. She had much of what she had come for, it was time to start making her presence known.

“You,” her right arm pointed straight at the male, her face a stone hard slate with a tone just as void as she then moved her arm to point to the space in the opposite end of the room right next to her, where the bright orange disc of light suddenly appeared, “If you want a quick escape, I’m going to offer it once. Get your shit, let’s go.”

The mutant tilted her head, just-so, as she regarded the other person in the room. “Richards. Sorry to hear about Franklin. I’ll try to have him and your mother out soon enough.”

Baldur glanced towards the young newcomer, taking note of her appearance and powers. She was familiar. Very familiar, in fact, since he actually saw Magik in action along with the other New Mutants back in the old days before the Dark Phoenix Crisis. Those were the better years; even if the planet constantly faced destructive events, the mutants were at least dedicated to its defense.

"Hm," Baldur turned around and began shrinking several stasis pods in quick succession, bending down and picking them up for storage in the spare orbs that he carried. The drones were still standing guard, but they'll also follow suit soon enough.

"You haven't aged a day, I see." Baldur said to Ilyanna as he gathered what pieces of Angstrom tech he deemed sufficient. He was leaving quite a lot of it, mostly because Richards had nicely asked him to, and she and Magik seemed to be on good terms. Shame that Reed went into the Ultimates.

Heavy brows perked above her blue eyes, in amusement, as her tone of voice hinted more at bemusement, “Not on the outside, anyway. Tell me where you want to be, step through, and you’ll appear there. Don’t ask why I’m helping,” despite the momentary bemusement, her lips twisted at their edges in something of a smirk at the insistence that the man not ask.

He wouldn’t like the answer. Either way, he didn't ask what it was. He simply shrugged, putting another of the stasis orbs into the backpack of his armor. "Vadvetjåkka National Park, in Sweden."

It wasn't often that Valeria was put onto the back foot, at least not truly. While she often presented the idea as a means to create a false sense of security in those she was manipulating or to simply provide further data for her to examine, in this case she was simply off guard. She told herself it was absolutely nothing to do with the neckline of the recent arrival. She was the brightest mind in a generation, if not ever. It would surely take more than a nice set of tits to put her off her game, or her own morning ritual in the mirror would be rather extended. No, it was the gleaming eye set upon the prominent rise of the mutant’s chest that she had not fully considered. Even if on this occasion it was unlikely to cost her, it wasn’t a mistake she would make again.

That said, matters were proceeding as she had planned, she was quite willing to let Angstrom leave with the full compliment of tech so long as her was aligned to her side of things. If she had stolen the technology herself it would reveal to her father that someone high up in his confidence had betrayed him, Angstrom was both a great ally and a fall guy.

With an exaggerated sigh, Valeria pulled down he hood and face mask, only her sunglasses remaining as she allowed her pristine mane of blonde hair to spill forth. "I can't say that was a particularly high effort disguise." Her eyes fixed on Magik as she aided Angstrom in his escape, pausing only to inform the man she would be in touch if he wished to aid them in setting the world to right, only continuing after he had stepped through to where he asked Magik to send him.

"So, Magic with a K, what brought you here?" She could make some guesses, but even her estimates were less sure than a straight confirmation. She pointedly ignored the offer to save her family, at least for the moment.

“The Vishanti showed Stephen what was to come, and he showed me. Only I return in time to find this underground playing at resistance, so I think maybe it’s time for this entire universe to burn. Even WITH the Eye I can’t tell if you’re guiding it, or if it’s guiding you…you know how to reach me, yes, that I can see clearly, sorceress.”

Without so much as another word Magik turned on her booted heel, and disappeared through one of her discs, leaving Valeria Richards with the mess of a violated Damage Control facility and the fallout that comes with it.

Val gazed into the space where Magik had been for some time, a scattering of moments that felt far more elongated than it was to her enhanced perception of reality. She snapped out of it quickly, she had to, despite her flippant outward nature, time was short. She regarded the intricate technology left behind for a few moments, before she began tracing patterns in the air, gleaming sigils of green lingering after her traced touch before the objects started phasing out of reality. They would be scattered across the Underground network throughout the Continental United States, but primarily to those safehouses closest to New York where they could currently do the most good.

Even as she weaved the magic, she spoke-thought commands to F.R.I.D.A.Y [I]”Corrupt this room’s audio and visual, leave sign of tampering.” As far as anyone who investigated would know there would be evidence of Angstrom, and possibly Magik, to be found, as long as the trace of magic itself, but none of her. Combined the two perfectly accounted for what had occured here, no need to look for a third party.

As she opened a portal of her own, hoping down from the final crate she had been standing upon, she let out a brief whine at the uncomfortable landing, the rush in which she had got changed in order to reach the warehouse in time letting itself known in a more direct sense. “Smarter than Reed Richards and you still forget to put on a bra.” she chided herself, before stepping through her own portal, rather hoping that Antony wouldn’t mind too much if she asked for another breakfast sandwich on her return.

Baldur Angstrom

Angstrom Deep Vault
Northern Sweden

The meeting he had with Valeria Richards and Ilyanna Rasputin had gone without much incident. He now knew that one of the Ultimates was, in fact, a mole for some kind of resistance that sought to return this world to the way it was during the days of the first heroes. That, he could respects; Baldur even contemplated aiding them, but his own resources were rather tight right now. All he still had after the forty years that passed after the Dark Phoenix crisis was whatever was inside the Angstrom Deep Vault when he and his followers went into stasis sleep. The rest was either obliterated by the Dark Phoenix and subsequent alien invasions, or was nationalized by the Swedish government, and then by the United Empire as he had been presumed dead along with the rest of the Angstroms. It would have been a good idea to leave it to someone trustworthy, but alas... what is the point of making a will if the world was going to end?

After a few minutes of walking, Baldur finally arrived on his destination. It was nearly unmarked, a place marked only by a lone lamppost standing in the middle of the great forest. It wasn't the lamppost he was interested in, though. It was what is under it.

Baldur knelt down, and clicked several buttons on the base of the lamppost. A small hiss emanated from the post... and a door emerged from the forest floor, with another set of buttons for typing in the access code.

"Hello sir, you're back. You found what you were looking for?"

"Yeah, Lukas." Baldur handed Lukas, one of his chief scientists and the guy that helped him replicate Hank Pym's shrinking technology, a small bag containing at least a dozen stasis orbs, all of which had highly advanced technologies kept in suspended animation. "I met a few people on the way, though."

"Oh?" Lukas' interest was piqued. "Which ones?"

"Well," Baldur shrugged. "There was Valeria Richards."

"One of the Ultimates? How did it go? Odd that you haven't sustained any battle damage-"

"She's friendly, don't worry about it," Baldur stepped off from the aptly named Warspite armor, leaving his normal clothes on. "Apparently there is a resistance against the United Empire, and she's part of them. At least, that was the vibe I got. She mentioned that 'some of us are fighting for a better day'. If that isn't a Rebel Alliance, against the empire I don't know what is."

Lukas rolled his eyes at the Star Wars reference. "Well, I guess that's a good thing. But you have to remember that in this bunker, we have 300 people that we have to protect, especially the mutants like myself."

"I know... You know I'll never let anything happen to you."

"Thank you sir."

"Just call me Baldur, it's not like we're really a corporation anymore."

Lukas shrugged, his expression totally unsurprised. "Okay, whatever. Baldur. Uh. Baldur? You okay?"

Baldur stared into the nothingness, as if he was daydreaming. Try as he might, but Lukas wouldn't be able to call his attention. Not while Baldur was seeing visions of the future, a voice similar to his own screeching into his mind.

He witnessed the end of the world, of civilization as we knew it. Nuclear weapons rained down upon the cities of humanity, killing billions upon billions. Legions of Sentinels stood in serried ranks, while Oscorp and Stark drones were scouring the ruins in search of survivors that might have evaded the radioactive blasts that made much of the planet uninhabitable. Mutantkind and humanity stood united, but what could they do against such a horrifying intelligence, a cold, calculating artificial mind that sought to wipe out all life not just on this world, but in the whole known universe.

Strangely enough, Angstrom Defense Drones were not in the visions of the ruins of Earth. Perhaps this was because they were of older make, linked only through human minds? Maybe they were immune to the depredations of an evil AI?

"Seek out the others, seek out the Mutant Underground. You must prepare. The United Empire is simply a pawn of KIVA. Destroy KIVA before she ends this world!"

"Sir!" Baldur was shook to wakefulness by Lukas, who looked quite worried. "You good, Baldy?"

Had he not gotten a vision of the future, he would have irritably commented on how he had a full head of hair, but Baldur was too shaken to care about the nickname. "I have to go."

"What? You just got here-"

"Take care of everyone," Baldur instructed as he stepped back into the armor and scooped several stasis orbs from a nearby shelf. "I'll be back soon."

________________________________________

When Colby became neck deep within the manipulated ground, Rosalie had the ground harden around the base of his neck, then took to her feet. Still gripping her shoulder, she looked down at Colby who looked up at her with a glare. After being shot at three times and two of the three shots making contact, it was oddly satisfying seeing him stuck with nowhere to go as a punishment. Yes, part of her still hated that she had to go to such measures to make sure she didn’t get shot again, but she had to admit to herself it was about time she stuck up for herself for once. She was known more for taking up for others and not herself in a lot of different situations. This situation definitely called for her to stick up for herself and to put Colby in his place, even if in the end he still felt the same. As she stood over him, she debated on what she should do next. Should she bury him further? Give him Electroshock Therapy and leave him? Or was there something else to do that hadn’t come to mind yet? As these questions rolled around in her mind, she felt her phone vibrate within her pocket but ignored it for now. She was pulled from her thoughts at the sound of approaching footsteps and then a man's voice coming from behind her.

His sudden appearance startled her but she didn’t let it show. As she took in his words, she gave a half turn to watch him while also keeping her guard up. Yes, he didn’t seem to be bothered by what she had done and he also didn’t seem to be human by his words but that didn’t mean she wasn’t going to be ready by a sudden attack. “The thought had crossed my mind.” she replied. As well as a bit of Electroshock Therapy. I also know full well that scaring him won’t keep him from telling anyone what I’ve done.” she said as she turned her gaze back to Colby briefly. “I also know him better than you think.” she added with a heavy sigh. Colby stared at the two as they talked about him as if he wasn’t even there and soon began to struggle to free himself with no luck. “When I get out of this, I’ll kill both of you freaks!” he bellowed. “I’ll make sure I kill every single one of you freaks I come across!” Colby then turned his gaze up to Rosalie, glaring at her with pure hatred. “You’ll be the first I come for, Rosie.” he sneered. Rose had heard enough from Colby, her whole body had tensed up in an effort to block out his words but they had still gotten through. Without so much as a warning, she threw a bolt of electricity dangerously close to his head, that was on the opposite side of where Isaac knelt, causing Colby to flinch.

“Will you shut up already?!” she said through gritted teeth, while also holding back the urge to kick him in the face. If she were to kick him now, she knew she could easily use every ounce of her strength and break the bones in one half of his face or break his neck, which was something she didn’t wish to do. Her hazel gaze landed on Issac as she thought back on what he had said, then she released a sigh through her nose. “Even with him being a pain in the ass and shooting me, I don’t want to kill him. A tragic event from his past has warped his thinking about those that aren’t human.” she finally said, taking a quick glance back at Colby. “I’d much rather have him forget the whole thing and even me if possible.” she admitted. Pulling a purple bandana from her jacket pocket, she finally wiped away some of the blood on her cheek from the wound on it. Then carefully pulled her jacket away from the bullet wound on her shoulder and pressed the bandana against it with a slight hiss. “I’m not one for killing humans if I can help it.” she added as she let her jacket fall back into place over her hand.

Vanquisher

Time: ERROR
Location: Quantico, Virginia

Vanquisher beelined through the sky towards the reported incident of a mutants terrorist targeting a passenger jet in the vicinity of Quantico, Virginia. As fast as Vanquisher was, it would take time for him to reach the incident. Sentinels would arrive on the scene first, but in that time he could digest the reporting as they came in. If the mutant was still standing upon arrival, Vanquisher would at least be prepared to face the threat.

Clint Eric Phillips. Male. 25. Caucasian. Mutant. Height. 73 inches. Weight. Approximately 200 pounds. Suspected Phoenix Order member or lone wolf Phoenix Order sympathizer. Unemployed. Fled authorities 48 hours ago after positive drug test results for X-Gene suppressing drug, Casper. Target’s last social media posts contain statements of having lost everything and intent to act like a monster with nothing to lose… Possession of the following mutations. Ambient energy projection. Self-propelled flight. Superhuman level physical conditioning….

Clint Phillips playing with his victims might have been godsent, as it only allowed Vanquisher to arrive at the airport as the mutant terrorist floated toward the flipped and burning aircraft on the airfield's taxiway. The robotic Ultimate had significantly lowered his altitude on approach to the airfield. No sentinels? Fine. The objective remains the same. Eliminate the target.

There were no words. No warning. Not a quip or introduction. No poses. Not even a grunt of vigor. And of course, there was no mercy.

Clint was currently elevated a few feet above the asphalt charging his hands up with energy. He aimed to kill off any surviving victims within the downed aircraft. He lost everything and was declared a monster. Now, Clint would show them one. A monster that had no qualms with killing to make things right. A monster that was cold and without a semblance of sympathy.

And a monster Vanquisher was.

With little loss in momentum, Vanquisher's large hands clutched the back of Clint's neck and slammed him face-first into the asphalt, the impact forming a crater. There was no pause in Vanquisher's actions. Why would there be? From a knelt position, Vanquisher repeatedly slammed Clint’s face into the ground and with his free hand he charged up a thermal beam for a concentrated attack. His free hand radiated with a bright orange glow, the light enveloping his hand.

Sufficient charge successful.

Vanquisher stood up, still holding Clint up by the nape of his neck. The towering machine easily held him above the ground. Clint’s battered face could barely be recognized as anything except ravaged flesh. Anyone lacking Clint’s durability would be dead after the initial face-first collision into the ground. Clint was alive, but his cervical spine had intentionally been severed by the blunt force of the repeated slams onto the asphalt. Clint could not move anymore… he could not see… he could not speak…

“You did have more to lose.” Vanquisher moved Clint so his body was facing away from the aircraft. Preventing further casualties than there already were was usually the goal if it could be helped. Once Vanquisher was in the clear, he fired a concentrated thermal beam, burning through Clint's back and out from his chest. Vanquisher dropped Clint who fell limp into the crater below. Now you have lost everything.” His attention shifted to the burning aircraft. It was finally time to tend to the rescue of any survivors.

Isaac / Heat

Time: Morning
Location: South Bronx, NYC
Interactions: Rosalie @Wolvena

Isaac watched and listened to some of the exchange between the woman and man buried into the ground up to his neck. Rosie? The name spouted by the human who did a hell of a lot of shit-talking for someone who was immobilized belonged to the woman. Rosie… He turned his head back to look at the woman and suddenly couldn’t see her… or anything for that matter.

“Pull, yank, bend, and crack time and reality
I wanted to give you a message before this brutality
Because I know the shit that you’re planning to do
The main reason is… it’s because I am YOU!
From the future, I bestow you with fact and information
Especially because you made it to this specific location
This moment, this woman, this man in the ground
I give you this mission so you can turn things around.
Rosie! Rosie’s short for Rosalie.
Primora! She’s the one you’re supposed to meet
But guess what? They’re the same girl on the surface
This future message comes to YOU at your service.

And as quickly as that odd message in the blankness of darkness occurred, it vanished. Everything fell back into place, and he was looking at Rosalie. The very woman the future message was about. Primora…

“I’d much rather have him forget the whole thing and even me if possible.”

Isaac raised an eyebrow. Judging by the gun he brought into the situation, he could tell Rosalie was definitely taking the high road. Softy. He stood up as she was more inclined to having her old friend/new enemy forget the events that occurred. He walked over to the gun on the ground, picking it up. Isaac tested the weight of the pistol by raising it up and down and nodded as he held the weapon by the warm barrel.

“I suggest you look away.” Isaac said as he walked towards the buried man.

“Even though you ain’t gonna die today
I think it’d benefit you if you prayed
You see I’m about to bash your head with this gun
Up to the point where you won’t remember nothin’”

Isaac swifty hit Colby in the temple with butt of the gun. Colby's head recoiled as his eyes appeared dazed from the strike to his head. He attempted to blink several times to regain focus, but was struck once again.

“Again with the blam blam you get struck in the head!
You better forget before your ass ends up dead!”

Colby’s head seemed to nod in all sorts of directions due to the blunt head trauma he experienced from Isaac who tucked the gun into the small of his back. He faced Rosalie with cold eyes, not regretting his actions towards the man who would see all mutants in concentration camps or worse.

“He’ll suffer from a severe TBI, but your secret is safe. It’s worth it!” He said, as he justified his brutal action. What he had done to Colby was nothing. It was the reaction of Rosalie he was more worried about. If she was meant to be a part of saving an apocalyptic future, he needed to do things the right way. “Let me guess, you’re not a mutant.” He posed the statement in order to legitimize these visions he was receiving from his future self. Colby's nodding head soon went limp.

_____________________________________

Rosalie watched Isaac as he turned his gaze from Colby to her then seemed to space out for a moment. She was already unsure about the man and him spacing out just made her more unsure about him. Her eyebrows knitted together as she saw him come back and look at her once again, her words finally seeming to register with him. She knew that her words made her come off as a softy but she didn’t really care. Yes, he tried to kill her but that didn’t mean she had to turn around and kill him, she was better than that. Plus, she had managed to trap him where he couldn’t do any more harm to her. All she would have to do was either leave him and risk him telling others, which she knew he would, or shock his brain until he forgot everything. Though that’s when this guy showed up and stepped into the situation. She watched him as he walked over to the gun that lay on the ground and picked it up, then weighed it in his hand. The way he held the gun after weighing it spoke volumes on what he was about to do next. She looked to Colby who was struggling to get free of the ground and muttering curses to himself, then looked back to Isaac when he spoke, his words caused her to raise an eyebrow.

It was as if he thought she’d never seen such a thing happen to anyone or he was trying to save her from seeing it. Either way, she didn’t avert her gaze as he walked up to Colby and spoke to him. Rose saw Colby open his mouth to shoot back a retort to Isaac but didn’t get a chance as the butt of the gun collided with his head. The action caused her to flinch slightly and then again at the second blow Isaac gave Colby. She watched and listened to the interaction going on between the two and shook her head lightly while Isaac’s back was still turned to her. She could have easily done the same thing without causing so much trauma, except for possibly making Colby a vegetable. She was pulled from her thoughts when Isaac tucked away the gun and turned to face her, the first thing she noticed was how cold his eyes were and how they held no regret in his actions. At his words, she raised an eyebrow as she looked at him, the look on her face saying “Really?” as she looked at him. “You don’t say? I could have gotten the same results without bashing his head in.” she said, seeming unfazed by everything. If she could have crossed her arms over her chest at that moment she would have.

She shifted her weight to one foot watching Colby’s head bob as if it were on the body of one of those dashboard dogs. She barely caught Isaac’s next words while watching Colby fall unconscious. She then sighed heavily through her nose. “And what makes you think that?” she asked flatly as she walked over to Colby. Kneeling next to his unconscious form, she placed her hand on the ground and began to manipulate it, the ground once again became a sand-like consistency. Colby’s body was pushed to the surface before hardening once again underneath him. Rose then took to her feet once again and faced Isaac. She opened her mouth to say something else but quickly shut it as she heard something large coming their way in the distance. Her head whipped to the opposite end of the alley as she listened as the sound came close and closer to the alley. “You’ve got to be kidding me.” she muttered as she recognized what the sounds were coming from. It was a Sentinel and it was one of the last things she wanted to deal with, especially now after this whole thing. She cut her eyes over at Isaac as she swallowed hard, hearing the Sentinel getting even closer to their location.

“Looks like we're about to have some unwanted company. I hope you’re quick on your feet.” she told him. She glanced at Colby then looked down the alley and prepared herself to fight or to escape knowing that Sentinels went after non-humans and not humans. She had hoped that she would never have to come face to face with one of these things but she also knew that being Inhuman it wouldn’t detect her as a threat unless she used her powers. Though she did wonder how things would go with this new guy who just randomly showed up and decided to help her out. For a split second, Evelyn and Robert came to mind and how she was going to explain what happened to her if and when she got back to the shop. Rosalie took this opportunity to quickly check the bullet wound on her shoulder by pulling her jacket back, removing the bandana, and placing it in a pocket, then she pulled her shirt away from the wound, it appeared the bullet went clean through. This was good news for her. Without a second thought, she summoned a small flame to her fingertips and cauterized the wound right then and there, a hiss and growl escaping her as she did.

Pulling a clean bandana from an inside pocket of her jacket, she wrapped it around the wound the best she could, then turned back to the end of the alley just as a Sentinel rounded the corner and quickly spotted them and stopped in its tracks, it was obviously scanning them or something along those lines. It took a few minutes but she soon realized that it seemed to be focused on Colby rather than her and Isaac, this struck her as odd. Was it planning an attack on Colby who was a human? Surely not. They weren’t programmed to harm humans.

Isaac / Heat

Time: Morning
Location: South Bronx, NYC

Despite her disagreement, Isaac failed to regret what he had done. If it were up to him, the guy buried up to his neck in dirt would be as good as dead.

“Same result? You didn’t want to hurt this guy. Two guns drawn on you and he’s still alive? You had every right to fry him with that power of yours.” He commented with a shake of his head. He wasn’t a fan of her type. Even if she had superpowers, a well-placed bullet could kill her unless she had some kind of healing factor or increased durability.

When the woman posed a question to his own about being an Inhuman, he didn’t know what else to really say. She was either that or a mutant… Oh right, there were aliens and wizards too. He watched with disapproving eyes as the woman freed the man trapped in the ground. He was going to say something but he also heard the whirling sound of a sentinel’s approach. Fuck… We gotta get out of her. He eyed Colby’s bike as a means to escape. All he’d have to do was jaunt over and ride the bike to freedom. Surte, he might have to use some of his powers, but the bike was his best bet at escaping at the moment.

Unfortunately, the sentinel arrived… but it wasn’t focused on who it should have been. It’s bodied was canted towards the incapacitated Colby and stepped towards him as if he was a threat. Call me Domino… He thought while feeling in luck.

“The tin can is focused on him I see we book it. It’s not like this guy would have saved you in the presence of one of those things. Let me guess. Softie is looking to save him despite all the bad he’s done? I’ll help you, but we really have to leave once this one is down.”
