@Enkryption I'll consider allowing it Pseudo servants weren't technically something I'd expect to see but even Mash needed a master. I'm not sure one can be one's own master without some weird shenanigans like Amakusa had.

@SSW Alright if you feel the need to do so you can lower the stats as she is she's got a better stat outline than Ibaraki. i'm allowing the current set on the basis of her being the daughter of shuten in this case, and I'll allow the phantasm now that It is stated it can be dodged, or avoided in the case of instant death with a check.

I have a Master in mind, if she can't count as her own Master.

So, I'm workshopping a very weak version of Cursed Arm, but on the reasonable, off-chance that doesn't feel like it will be fun in the long run, what's the cutoff year of death for Servants?

I think what Enkryption was asking was what year limit is there for a servant's death before they're summonable. IE: Could you do Neil Armstrong as a servant even if he only died in 2012?

Alright my mistake if that was the question then I would say pre-tank era (aka world world 1) would be the cutoff.

I'm curious about something. If this is supposed to be a Grand Order, why are we all making Masters? Masters are just living batteries in Grand Order with Mystic Code being the only important thing about them. It would be far more reasonable for every to make a Servant with three Command Seals Powers at a 1/2/3 costs that you, as the surviving Master, would be able to pop at cost to their Command Seals and yours would serve the purpose of the Mystic Code you wear.

Like, Cursed Arm would have something, like,

1 - Theft of Parameters; Hassan of the Cursed Arm extends his cursed to sap his opponent's parameters, and overwrite those of his that are weaker with theirs.

2 - Hidden In Daylight; Hassan of the Cursed Arm wraps himself in the light to attack in broad daylight without fear of retaliation.

3 - Broken Curses of Killing; Hassan of the Cursed Arm breaks the seal on his cursed arm, and use Zabaniya to it's full potential, however his cursed arm becomes complete inert afterward.

Something like that, as just food for thought.

@Enkryption Every servant is generally powered by Chaldea, or some sort of other generator in Fate Gudao (or fujimaru if you really prefer it doesn't really matter) is an overall average mage if not below so and isn't capable of handling the general amount of gods. Every master in Fate/Grand Order was meant to summon servants through Mash and Gudao does so as well. Gudao is required as proper human history's master, and so was Team A aka the Crypters. However Mash is not in this as I don't feel I could write her well enough replacing her with a summon generator built by Archimedes by some sort of mcguffin technique or what have you. To answer the question flat out though masters are anchors, and individuals who can control, and make sure the servant in question doesn't go rogue in the singularity, or otherwise die in combat. The master summon the servants and keep them there through mana, and the bond through the summoning process. They serve as a way of having someone there in case the servant dies, or the hand of an actual living person is needed.

As such I could use Leon to build a all around master candidate, or Rezod's but they would still be limited to three command seals, and likewise be built around lets say Leon, as a master candidate. But I feel that would be way to Mary Sue esk, and I have no intention of making Leon into such a character. If a player wants to open up their master to having more than one servant that's their choice HOWEVER if they bail that servant is left with no master and thus no anchor and thus they can't stay situated in physical form for long. If say Leon died Mordred would not be able to fight on for long as she's not an archer and has no access to independent action. And those with IA who aren't immune from this because unless they're gilgamesh with a ridiculously high level of it they'll probably just wither away.

If you're looking for anything more on that I can't say because i'm not a grand master on the excessively large amount of lore the nasuverse has.

Edit: Also servants by definition are incapable of having command seals unless they're rulers overseeing a grail war. The only ones i know of that have them are Amakusa, and Jeanne both rulers one of which took the seals from pre-existing masters. The other being Medea who took them from Shiro using a weapon specifically meant to break rules, or Shiro gave them to her to save rin or something don't remember.

@The Irish Tree I'll accept the character and you may feel free to do that if you so choose. I have already made that quite clear that was an option in the rules. Also a quite different approach to alchemy is pretty cool.

@Agunimon I stated on the lower end I'd consider accepting them without command seals on them. I guess Jeanne technically would be fine but things like Revelation are weird out of the hands of a player because as a GM am I supposed to just flat out give away who a servant would be for example.

That's when you can fall back on the classic trope of "very vague visions that if interpreted wrong means that you make them happen by seeing them" for plot points.

So yes if people want to go with irish's master as their master go ahead, if you want leon go ahead and ask, if you want to make your own go ahead. If you don't want to join anymore do say so so I know what's up.

Talked it out with Enkryption over PM's, and we'll be partnering up for Master/Servant pairs. He may need a bit of time though due to work.
