ANNOUNCEMENT!
Due to unfortunate circumstances that have arisen I am unable to continue as GM at this time. My job has been shut down and until I can find another position I will have to put this RP on hold. I have expressed that should Gisk wish to continue this in my absence they may do so but it is entirely up to them. But I cannot say when I will personally be able to continue this RP with you lovely wonderful folks. I apologize from the bottom of my heart and hope you can forgive me for having to step away.

Tired of your bastard child always trying to kill your crown prince? Is your third son absolutely abysmal with a sword? Is your princess getting ideas of over throwing the monarchy and has begun gathering power for a revolution? Finding a suitable political marriage takes time and a war can be far too costly to start just to send your child to their death! Might we suggest... an alternative solution?
If you've lost all faith in reforming your royal pain then let us take over for you! Here at the Academy for Wayward Royals we have everything your royal heir could ever need! The finest cuisine teleported in by a holy priest from thousands of miles away, clothes spun from the best venom free sentient spiders and tailored by the best rabies free mice, a leak free stone ceiling over their head and the finest hay mattress offered on the market today!
But what if my royal assh- I mean pain, tries to escape? Don't worry, your child will think twice about trying to escape when on the way in they see all the security measures we've put in place to ensure that unless your royal highness finds some other kingdom to take them they won't be going anywhere!
Our lovely Academy is guarded by not one, not two, but three fire breathing dragons who live inside the lava lake that surrounds us! But the best part is we are located in the middle of the desert so unless your child is half camel their body will be lost to the sands of time forever!
What if my child is a magic user you might be asking! And to that we say this one thing!
No.
We do not accept children of magical abilities. We are a Holy Academy, we have some standards! Burn your children at the stake yourself!
Interested in our fine Academies services? Apply using the form below and send your carrier pigeon to our Maiden who will be going through all applications to ensure proper passage for your blue blooded spawn!
With the preview out of the way I want to personally welcome you to the Academy for Wayward Royals Interest Check!
This role play is an idea I've been sitting upon for a bit of time that I wanted to bring to life! So if you become part of those who join this role play thank you for helping me bring this story to life!
Now as for the role play it will be a basic free roam plot with some GM events that will lead our cast not only to supplies to help them escape but will help them discover that not all is as it seems within the Academy. Whispers within the walls aren't the mice, the unexplainable drafts aren't so unexplained and the winding corridors that lead to what appears to be nowhere... well, there's a reason for that.
When your characters are accepted they will be put into a random name draw app I have and you will be paired with a partner. Oh and these are co-ed dorms though co-ed activity is to be kept to PM! ;)
Now I am looking for a Co-GM at this time to help me in this role play (especially as a first time GM) so if you're interested do let me know! Oh and if it entices you Co-GM's get to know the secrets of the Academy!
If you're interested please let me know down below and begin to work on your CS! I will let you know when the submission deadline is within a day or two!
If you've read this far thank you just for taking the time to read this! I hope to have you come aboard this journey with me!
Early Acceptance of CS's has begun! If you'd like to submit your CS for Early Acceptance you may do so now through PM!

The Esmeldian lifestyle is that of a warrior. Whether helping out their nearby kingdoms in battle should the cause be worthy or battling the large wild animals to gather fur for the winter and exports, the Esmeldian people have always lived that way. A very tight-knit close kingdom its small but mighty, the royals always being known as benevolent rulers. There has never been an emphasis on civility or manners, everyone is happy if especially drunk in the winter months.
That has also included the royal family until the death of the King Hans who was beloved by all. Gretta and Johann were hit hard by this as they trained by his side, they battled and fought by his side with man and beast alike from a young age. But the hardest hit was Queen Gretta, deciding that whilst her sons were men her daughter Princess Gretta needed to become a proper lady. During the three months she was locked away in her room it was fear that she would lose all three one day if all of her children were to go to war that caused her to decide her daughter Gretta needed to become a proper princess. the Queen made it her mission to put Gretta on the straight and narrow whilst her daughter decided to make it her mission to do everything and anything.
Thus began the great divide among the kingdom, those who sided with the Queen and those who sided with the Princess. But before the divide could go further the Queen decided to ship Gretta off, an uneasy peace settling across the kingdom as everyone agreed that at the very least the princesses... lust, was something that needed to be controlled.

Located in extremely dense forests Esmeldia's highest exported goods are furs and high quality wood. The harsh winters and raging rapids that are scattered all across the kingdom has led to a survival of the fittest scenario for both humans and animals alike. The size of the rabbits are that of a small bear cub in the outer rim of the kingdom. Now imagine the bears and wolves... yeah, it's quite literally eat or be eaten in this kingdom. They have some lovely cave hot springs though!

Name: Pascal Harper
Pascal is a short, frail-looking young man. He has stark white hair and extremely pale skin due to his albinism. His soft features and unassuming appearance make him seem like not much of a threat, and he knows this. His hair is very long, kept around his waist in length (usually). Sometimes it is tied back with a bow or into a braid. He puts effort into his appearance, staying groomed and well dressed- most of the time. He'll wear makeup and other various feminine things without batting an eye, but has androgynous fashion as well. Pascal stands at ~5 foot and weighs between 95-100 lbs.
Age: 19
Sexuality: Gay homo gay
Place in line for the throne: 4th
Kingdom: Cilandria
Basic Kingdom History and climate:
Cilandria is a coastal kingdom built on the importance of trade routes. There is an emphasis on keeping close ties with neighbors to build alliancesβ¦and hopefully spread the empire. Cilandria has been βquietβ, but that does not mean they are powerless. In order to quell unrest, they like to control trade routes and close ports to send a message.
Royal Lineage (Familial Relationships):
King Leonard Avresious Harper - Father - 56
Queen Magnolia Harper - Mother - 54
Prince Leonard βLeoβ Harper II - Eldest Brother - 31
Prince Beau Harper - Middle Brother - 25
Prince Augustus Harper - Twin Brother - 19
Reason for Being Banished sent to the Academy:
Pascal absolutely refuses to get married to any suitor, suitress, or anything in-between. He sticks his nose up at everybody who tries- truly a picky young man with odd tastesβ¦.as he was caught fawning over one of the stable boys. This was the final straw regarding his antics. He also has a distinct hatred for anything combat related. With his short size, defiant nature, and love for complaining, heβs quite the awful soldier.
Likes:
Pascal is as prissy as they come. He greatly enjoys the privileges that come with living as a royal. If heβs not comfortable, whatβs the point? Being the center of attention- coming from a line with three others before him, he doesnβt often get to bask in the limelight, so heβll make any excuse to get his fifteen seconds of fame. Pascal takes great pride in his appearance. Heβs pretty and he knows it. He is not above using his looks to get what he wants.
Dislikes:
Pascal harbors a certain distaste for his family, as heβs the black sheep (or white, really, as he is a person with albinism) out of them. He is not wise like Leo, popular like Beau, or strong and kind like Augustus- He is Pascal, the runt of the litter with no real talent. This eats at him when he tries to sleep. He fears commitment, both towards people and his responsibilities. Early adulthood means that he is expected to get married to form some sort of alliance. This scares him.
Pets:
None. Pascal is distinctly allergic to most animals. Being around them makes him sneezeβ¦
Family Heirloom (One Allowed):
A gilded tiara that is traditionally given to princesses when they come of age, Pascal was the next best thing given the lack of female heirs. He dislikes wearing it, as it is a reminder of everything he is avoiding.

Name: Saiten Algard
Age: 19
Sexuality: Straight
Place in line for the throne: Fourth in line. Although...
Kingdom: Ashglade
Basic Kingdom History and climate: Ashglade is a temperate region surrounded by dense, fertile forests. The kingdom's main exports are lumber and furs. Ashglade is infamous for a period of history in which they waged five consecutive civil wars. The details of these wars are contested, and historic scholars struggle to piece together a true history, but in the end, the land was united under the rule of the Algard family. They have maintained peace through a prosperous economy, and fair treatment of their subjects. Regional and district authorities are subject to strict audits. There are currently no records of corruption due to the Algard family's good judgement. On a completely unrelated note, some officials have needed to be replaced due to unfortunate accidents in the woods.
Royal Linage (Familial Relationships): Saiten is the sixth of eight siblings. He has three older brothers, two older sisters, and one younger of each. His father, Mallick Algard, is the reigning king of Ashglade. Mallick has no siblings, however he had an uncle, who is deceased, and an aunt, who is currently living peacefully in retirement. Her progeny form a branch of the Algard family that comprise Saiten's cousins. Both of Saiten's paternal grandparents are deceased, and his maternal grandfather acts as an advisor for the king.
Reason for Being Banished sent to the Academy: Saiten had always been an odd boy. While his brothers would be playing in the courtyard, heβd be in the library, absorbing volume after volume. He was no courtly flower, and often showed up to events looking disheveled, and smelling of whatever chemicals he had been experimenting with. As he grew older, he would catch rats to dissect and experiment on.
None of these were reasons to banish him, though. As fourth in line for the throne, it was unlikely he would see any real political responsibility, so he was simply accepted as the black sheep to be kept out of sight and out of trouble. However, his curiosity eventually got the better of him. While researching his familyβs history, he uncovered a secret that was supposed to have been buried long ago. He was sent to the academy so he could study to his heartβs content without stirring up any more trouble.
Likes: Reading, anatomy, herblore, medicine, and various naturalistic studies.
Dislikes: Fighting, excessive noise, crowds, and stuffy formal gatherings.
Pets: Saiten has only ever seen animals as food, utilities, or research subjects. As such, he has never had a pet, and has no interest in keeping one.
Family Heirloom (One Allowed): A ring with the Algard Wolf Crest to prove his legitimacy.

Kingdom: Kingdom of Belka
Basic Kingdom History and Climate: Belka is a little country with a population of mainly consisting of humans. Bordered between a small sea to the North, verdant plains to the South, mineral rich hills to the East and ancient ruins to the West. The kingdom mainly lives off trade, fishing, and of exports of weapons, and jewelry.
Belka itself is settled on a plateau and has a calm climate, which has lead to a steady growth in population. The population mainly lives in burgs and towns, but most if not all yearn to live in the royal capital. The country's landscape is considerably lovely with its fertile plains, rolling hills, and white sandy beaches that are just a sliver of the hidden treasures Belka has to offer. No doubt why the country is loved among foreigners and locals alike.
The people of Belka are cautious towards foreigners and tend to be polite but distant to them. They feel that foreigners had a hand in the past civil war and can interfere with the country's current and future well being. Belka has humane laws and but strict law enforcement, leading to slight unrest among the more troublesome folk. The kingdom is distressed due to declining neighbor relations, mainly caused by xenophobic resentment from the civil war.
The country's flag, which has a crescent moon and a sun on a background in pure white on the top half and dark blue on the bottom half.
Their coat of arms is two flanged maces stylized to look like the sun that are crossed one another atop a kite shield with the crescent moon emblazoned on it.

Pets: Rollo [A trained raven of 5 years of age.]
Family Heirloom (One Allowed): A brooch made of amethyst and gold resembling a branch with budding flowers. This heirloom once belonged to the late Queen Miriam. [Valuable in itself for its materials but the true value lies with its ability to alert the wearer of danger.]

Princess Vanafindiel of house Elessedil
Enclosed.
Name: Princess Vanafindiel of house Elessedil (Vana Short form)
Age: 23
Sexuality: somewhat variable.
Place in line for the throne: 3rd at present.
Kingdom: Elvish Kingdom of the Northern Mountains.
Description:
Height: 5'11 barefoot.
Hair: Clean silver hair often in intricate braids that's practically metallic in colour falling naturally straight.
Eyes: Metallic Gold.
General description: Pale skin with cultural white tattoos and designs on chest and back. Fairly athletic from living in a land that's an endless cardio workout of hill climbing.
Racial quirks:
Naturally tall, 5'10 female average, 6'3 male average heights.
Pointed Elf like sensitive ears with very soft and faint silvery hairs.
Naturally at ease in cold and icy conditions.
A sensitivity to feel magic but unable to cast it.
Basic Kingdom History and climate:
A slightly quieter and smaller old kingdom in the northern high mountains atop the snowy peaks encompassing the foothills accessed by steep sided and narrow valleys.
Its Early history was as a widespread and wealthy kingdom before the others grew in power to challenge and humans began to out populate them with faster birthrates.
The snow elves withdrew to the higher mountains and built their city atop the formidable northern mountain ranges. Built in tiers and terraces of white stone that are accessed by winding routes up the mountains guarded by stout keeps and defenses leading to the royal palace atop one of highest peaks. Alongside it sits the great observatory and forges producing valuable cold forged runic metals for military smiths and fine craftsmen alike.
In recent centuries they stayed out of the way, limiting trade and diplomacy to more trusted allies while trying to avoid attracting too much attention from the other realms.
However a failed diplomatic coming of age trip to a nearby kingdom ended in somewhat more trouble than it solved until her twin brother promised to marry their 3rd in line daughter along with increased trade agreements.
After one or two many moments where his daughter could either charm an entire kingdom's lords in an evening to their side or start diplomatic chaos and not much in between he had enough. Maybe she would find someone who could tame her wilder instincts or at least give his blood pressure a break. At this stage he does not care if a Prince or Princess takes that role already having one son betrothed, a second who showing promise and his brother's children being well grounded. His succession is quite secure.
Royal Lineage (Familial Relationships):
Twin Brother Velossfaeniel of house Elessedil is Crown Prince betrothed to a human Princess from a western allied kingdom.
King and Queen. Father and mother both from the Kingdom.
Younger Brother who is 3rd in line.
Uncle and the King's younger Brother who is Head of the kingdom's security and trade.
Various other relatives by blood or marriage.
(I am using a system based on the British Royal family for succession.)
Reason for Being Banished sent to the Academy:
After one too many diplomatic, and variable incidents the king decided to send her off to consider for a while . While excellent when good, she was just as good at causing migraines. Her dislike of sand sealed the deal, feeling like the Academy might help⦠or at least give him a break and punish her all at the same time.
likes:
Cooler temperatures.
Blue's.
Silks.
Astronomy.
Canines.
Strong flavours or sensations.
Non constricting clothes and fabrics.
People being open about intentions.
Dislikes:
Sand.
children.
Sea food.
The colour Black.
Things off centre.
court jesters.
Being unable to see the night sky.
Birds.
Anything with more than 4 legs.
People touching ears without permission, sensitive.
Pets:
Fluffy. A loyal, protective, highly intelligent northern dire wolf with slate grey fur. Has bright blue eyes that almost look more intelligent than an animal should have.
In lighter times she forgets is no longer a small puppy at times and a formidably sized bulky and powerful wolf.
Raised since she was a child from an orphaned puppy.
Will try to sit and rest her head on your lap and expect fuss and not move withoutβ¦
Family Heirloom (One Allowed): Not trusting his daughter to manage to evade trouble somehow in a multiple dragon guarded remote castle inside a lava lakeβ¦
Because she and trouble are practically siblings .Where one goes the other comes too.
The ice mountains bulwark.
A short spear of cold forged rune steel with a blade of ice diamond.
Lightweight yet effective armour of same materials, mostly mail with protective plates for reinforcement in vital areas.
They can be shrunk down into a pair of small knight and spear charms on a necklace, bracelet or anklet chain. Naturally you need time to put it on thoughβ¦
Name: Princess Fazragragarim of Horschnell
Age: 23
Sexuality: Pansexual
Place in line for the throne: First in line.
Kingdom: Orsima
Basic Kingdom History and climate: Orsima's land in general is sparsely wooded plains, mixed with some marshland and rocky, barren mountains.
The Orsim people are orcs. Orcs as a people came down from the mountains on the edge of the known world nearly a millennium ago, and have long been considered a barbaric people. They are nomadic hunters, traditionally speaking, and have never had the same cultural trappings that many of the local peoples had. The Kingdom itself wasn't formally founded until just a generation past.
Fazragragarim's grandfather was warchief of their clan, and through enormous political effort, he managed to make peace with a neighboring nation. In the peace, they regained a great deal of land that they had traditionally hunted and traveled, and were even gifted a proper castle: Horschnell. Built by civilized folk, and strong enough to withstand a siege, it was the first castle occupied by orcs(for longer than it took to capture and pillage itβ¦).
In exchange, however, Gragar(then just the warchief's cub) was forced into an arranged marriage with a princess(something like fifth in line for the throne of the neighboring kingdom).
Despite their less than stellar reputation amongst humans and the like, the Orsim are traditionally a highly disciplined and organized people. They have a strong sense of honor, and though combative by nature, they typically are not bloodthirsty.
They have a strong medical tradition, with the best healers in the world(if anyone would bother to ask), and despite rumors to the contrary, they care for their sick, elderly and disabled people(oftentimes better than some more traditionally "civilized" nations)
They take very good care of their hair, which is typically a point of pride, and keep both clothing and equipment in immaculate repair. After all, a stray lock can distract at the moment one would strike. A loose belt may catch the arm when one moves to swing their sword.
Their warrior tradition has a heavy focus on mounted combat, particularly archery. They fight with a short, curved bow, or else a spear or large curved sword.
Orcs have a metallurgical secret in their "orcish steel," which is dark in color, with a wavy pattern. It is strong and light, but not very flexible, making it difficult to use in swords(but good for armor or spear/arrow heads).
An orc of Orsima is given a first name at birth. During adolescence(typically before thirteen years of age) they will be taken as an apprentice, at which point their mentor's name will be appended to their own, as from that point on, until they make a name for themselves, they represent their mentor. So Fazra, as the princess, is apprenticed to her father, the king, and is called Fazragragarim. King Gragar, in turn, was once called Gragargreshrim.
Isabelle could never pronounce this, and was roundly embarrassed for the first few years of their arranged marriage until Gragar was allowed to carry his own name alone.

Furs, particularly of big and exotic game.
Between these three luxuries, Orsima has become quite wealthy in its short history as a "proper kingdom."

Royal Linage):
King Gragar of Horschnell(father)
Queen Isabelle of Horschnell(step mother(a proper last name may be added, if someone wants the neighboring kingdom to be theirs))
Lady Lilit(mother, the royal concubine of King Gragar)
Lord Markus(no direct relation, royal consort to Queen Isabelle)
Prince Frederik(adoptive/step brother. Son of the Queen and her consort)
By royal decree(and in agreement with their allied neighbor), in the event that a mixed marriage cannot conceive a child naturally, the children of consorts and concubines are given the same royal status as if they were true-born children. So though they share no blood, Fazragragarim is treated as Isabelle's true daughter(at least legally speaking), and Frederik is treated as Gragar's true son.
Reason for Being Banished Sent to the Academy: It was an accident. Her parents wanted her to socialize with other "civilized" royalty. King Gragar misunderstood what the school was even for, but it may be that Isabelle was fully aware...

Family Heirloom: Her grandfather's bow, Hartseeker(when spoken aloud, people assume it is Heartseeker, but actually her grandfather was just a prolific hunter)
Notes: Fazragragarim is 6'11". She has a severe and disciplined demeanor, but is secretly a naive cinnamon-roll.
Around 4'10"
Name: Wakizaka Satsuki
Age: 19
Sexuality: Yes (closest definition would be pansexual)
Place in line for the throne: Last in line.
Kingdom: Wakizaka Dynasty
Basic Kingdom History: The Wakizaka Dynasty is a decently sized kingdom situated on tropical coastline. Most of the notable locations are on or near the coastline itself, including the capital Sinyeong. But the dynasty does hold a few islands off the coast as well. Along with two towns more inland from the coastline. In terms of land access they are almost completely closed in by mountains, but there is a way in from the south. The main way of transport is by boat or ship.
They are most well known for art, jewelry, swords, and swordplay. Though only the first two are exported. Visitors are however free to buy and keep any weapon they find for sale, or just straight up find, while they are inside the Dynasty's territory. To witness their swordplay you must either piss off a soldier, or hope you catch a dueling tournament.
Basic Kingdom Climate: In terms of geological climate, it is primarily tropical. With towns and villages near the base of the mountains having a more temperate/taiga style of climate. Most of the territory is covered in a dense tropical jungle which becomes sparser the nearer to the coastline or mountains you are. The coastline itself also isn't purely sandy, which some parts having beaches made of large stones or boulders. And few places being cliffsides.
In terms of social climate, it is a feudal society with a somewhat mobile caste system. Individuals cannot move up or down on their own in the system. The family as a whole must have notable achievements within it to allow them to move up. Along with that, a family must have notable failures to push them downwards. Achievements/failures are kept on record for around a century to permit some fairness to the system. Once the century has passed from the action, it is basically void for judgment of mobility and is put into a separate log that keeps a more permanent record of this stuff for historical reasons. The system permits peasant class families the chance the move upwards, and also keeps noble and ruling class families in check.
Royal Linage (Familial Relationships):
Wakizaka Kume. Mother, age 60.
Emperor Wakizaka Yazhu. Father, age 63.
Wakizaka Sakano. Sister, age 41.
Wakizaka Zhelan & Guiying. Twin brothers, age 37.
Wakizaka Naosuke. Brother, age 28.
Wakizaka Tomoaki. Brother, age 24.
Reason for Being Banished sent to the Academy: Her family claims Satsuki has dishonorably dueled a member from a ruling class family. Attempted murder of two members from noble class families during duels with them. Debauchery on several occasions across the entire caste system. Attempted to seduce her youngest brother Tomoaki. And dressing immodestly.
The problem is she is only truly guilty of two of those. The debauchery charge and being immodestly dressed. Even then the debauchery isn't as severe as her family made it out to be. As she had only fornicated with a few people, her family claims its to be several. And so has been left mostly confused as to the why of all of this. Though she knows where it likely stems from.
Her family never liked her much to begin with.

Kingdom: Petrikos, Empire of the Golden Isles
Basic Kingdom History and climate:
The islands of the southern ocean were once ruled individually, each with its own clan, with peace and trade between all. The arrival of outsiders, and their discovery of the islands' abundant resources and idyllic placement for trade led to strife and war. It was the Petrikos clan the prevailed in the end; uniting the islands together creating a force strong enough to keep independence from the larger kingdoms of either continent. Calliope is the 11th generation, and apparently final, descendant of the original Petrikos Emperor. As time has passed and peace continued the remaining clans, while still reporting to the Emperor, now each have their own small council and are generally self-governing of their own lands/people. Being an essential port stop for any ship crossing the southern sea, the islands have grown wealthy from trade taxes in addition to their main exports of gold ore, wine, and shipbuilding.
A collection of over a dozen island of varying size, there are a number of biomes found within the empire, but most of the land is tropical. The foliage in the uninhabited parts of land is dense and dangerous; as likely to be filled with poisonous monsters as smugglers. The cities, particularly those on the coast are a common destinations for tourists and wealthy travellers. The northern islands are covered more in rock, large mountains, and more than a few volcanoes; this is where the titular gold of the Golden isles is found, as is the nutrient-rich soil used to grow their wine fruits.
Royal Linage (Familial Relationships):
Empress Natassa Petrikos-Anthakis (deceased) - Mother
Emperor Stamatis Anthakis - Father
Empress Katia Anthakis - Step-Mother
Princess Forentina Anthakis - Half-sister
Princess Dorothea Anthakis - Half-sister
Reason for Being Banished sent to the Academy: Kidnapped by pirates after her mother's assasination, and kept with them for the majority of her life after her father failed to pay ransom, any chance for Calliope having a proper upbringing has been completely lost. It was hopped that she'd be forgotten and her titles and claims would be given to her child-half sisters. At least until her crew-mates destroyed one-too-many naval vessels and were captured for a bounty. Unsure how to re-lose the long-lost princess without raising suspicions, her family hopes to at least stomp out the worst of her habits; kleptomania, belligerence, and drinking enough to make her an eligible match for some minor clan's heir - or better yet to have her forgotten all over again.
Likes: Violence, alcohol, theft, the ocean, anything shiny
Dislikes: Pageantry, rules, politics, children, meat
Pets: Leonidas
Family Heirloom (One Allowed): Ring of the Golden Isles: As the sole remaining descendant of the Petrikos name she posses the eight bands form the eight original clans of the southern islands; forged into one singular ring to represent their strength in unity.
