Here's a fun-fact I learned that I felt inspired to share reading Byrd's post: The Boxer Rebellion was the first time the US deployed troops overseas without the consent of Congress.

I always got the impression that the Boxer Rebellion was mostly a photoshoot for weird uniforms.

It was basically a live-fire competition to fuck shit up before everyone else in the coalition.

My favorite part of the article:

The French apparently were left out of the planning.

And although the British won the race, the MVP goes to the US of A for the actions of Calvin Pearl mothafuckin' Titus:
