The Carribean island of Carabo is certainly a sight to see with its pristine beaches and gorgeous views.

For decades, Carabo Island has served as a popular tourist destination for vacationing. There is always a constant influx of tourists arriving and going, owing to a consistent high ranking among travel agencies and blog sites. Hang gliding, scuba diving—the island has everything one could want and then some.

Unbeknownst to the world, however, Carabo Island is home to a dark secret. It is contained, for now, but no matter how one tries to hide it, you can not stop darkness from coming to light forever.

Locales

Carabo is an average-sized Carribean island with a tropical climate and mountainous terrain. It is primarily divided in three parts, being the island resort complex. the local town, and a forbidden military outpost.

The island resort complex takes up the southwest section of Carabo, wherein it has many amenities and activities for the guests willing to pay their rates. Here, guests can enjoy their pools, tennis courts, spa massages, the beach, etc. just to name a few such things. The rooms and décor are top of the line, and the resort prides itself on providing the best experience for their guests.

The town is located to the right of the resort, taking up most of eastern side of the island. It is this town where most of the local islanders reside and live. Although it has some modern amenities, much of it is impoverished and rural; a stark contrast to the island resort it neighbors.

The military outpost is owned by the US, and is located in the northern mountains. Access to it is restricted, and trespassers are liable to be shot. Do not visit it unless you're willing to risk your life.

Your character is a tourist who has decided to travel on vacation to Carabo Island for whatever reasons they may have. The island resort feels picturesque as you check in, where the resort employees personally invite you to a late night event later that day. They tell you that there'll be live music, food and drink, but most of all, people to meet, if you so desired. With the knowledge that you're here to unwind and relax, you decide accept their invitation without much thought. After all, the event does sound like it'd be fun and worthwhile of your time, so why not give it a go?

Unfortunately for you, however, accepting that invitation may have just cost you your life when the dead decide to rise from the grave and attack the party with an endless hunger for flesh and blood.

As her mother's side is Italian, Delaney can be loud, obnoxious, and always speaks with her hands. As her job demands it, she is always the calm in the storm and can take on a leadership role when necessary.

Growing up in the pacific Northwest, Delaney is the only child to Emme and Grant Barlowe. She grew up in a relatively small town that hardly ever saw a sunny day. Her parents were well off, her mother being a Chemistry professor at the local community college and her father a beloved Pediatrician. Delaney did not want for anything and just flowed through life without a care in the world.

Everything changed when she was fifteen years old. Her adored father was killed in a drunk driving accident and life seemed to fall apart at the seams. Her mother never recovered from the loss and had a mental breakdown, leaving Delaney to move in with her party hungry, twenty one year old aunt Sadie. The two had to learn how to grow up together and it often found Delaney doing odd side jobs to help her aunt pay for bills.

Unbeknownst to her, at the age of eighteen Delaney was awarded a trust-fund that her parents had created for her college education. She quickly decided to go to medical school and after her preliminaries was accepted into Stanford Medical. After completing her schooling she was accepted into residency at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. There is where she stayed on and accepted a prestigious role in their emergency department.

Today she resides in Rochester, Minnesota in a comfortable bungalow, alone and without any worries. After several years of working, she has decided to use some of her earnings and trust-fund to vacation in the sun.

Dave is temperamental, moody. Sometimes described as high maintenance–the kind of pop star that makes people blast them on social media for having problems respecting the people who got him to where he is. His defenders will probably say anyone with a bad experience asked for it or caught him on a bad day. Perhaps both sides have some nuggets of truth at the baseline.

Ultimately, Dave’s been unhappy for a long time. Most of his success came when he moved away from his earnest songwriting and to blase, empty-headed pop music. Pair that with a generational addiction to addictive substances (particularly of the Jim Beam variety) and a very internal war between self and demons you have a hotbed of a temperamental, self-entitled, unfulfilled, and lonely man. Even he admits he needs to get back to the person he was, and not the person he’s been constructed to be by the big labels and important Hollywood producers. How can he live up to be a role model for anybody if he feels nothing and has nothing? It’s a question he ponders nightly and at the bottom of a bottle.

David Earl MacKeown had a rough childhood in a town just north of Oklahoma City.

When he finally got free, he pushed himself to Nashville, hustling and hoping that one day his dream of hitting the lights of the big stage would become real.

Perhaps it happened a little faster than he could handle. Before the age of 25 he had multiple hits and attention from a big, proper music label. It would be that label that took him to greater heights for a decade plus, though it would come with its own costs. His songwriting took a backseat to a team of writers, his musicality became what he found banal–all while he struggled with addiction, relationship hurdles, and spending his time between Nashville and Hollywood. In his thirties, with strings of top ten smash hits for years and a popular stint as a judge on a singing competition, the midlife crisis finally came for him and probably a bit more violently than it came for others.

His son’s death. The subsequent divorce. A few things. A social media episode. The label deciding not to renew his contract; all of it came as it did and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get some R&R and rethink what his life meant and how he could pick up the pieces moving forward. The world sees him as some sort of diva, a trainwreck to encourage, a sellout, a star. Not often that the world sees him for what he’s going through. But touring independently has given him something to think about.

Perhaps he should’ve picked a different vacation spot.

Standing at a slightly tall 5’10’’, Reggie Grant doesn’t immediately stand out in a crowd. With a thin build and pale skin, Reggie blends in with most twenty-something year old white guys. With both dark brown eyes and hair, nothing is particularly vibrant about his face. In recent months he has let his hair grow longer, reaching the bottom of his neck. He has also not been shaving regularly, as his whole routine was screwed by the cancellation of his wedding.

While in the past Reggie has had some piercings, he has not worn any since graduating college. His skin is also blemish free, save the one tattoo he has. On Reggie’s right shoulder blade is a tattoo of a lion. This is meant to reference the fact that Regulus is a star in the Leo constellation.

When it comes to clothing, Reggie prefers to dress simple and elegant. A hater of overly big or flashy logos, Reggie likes single colored clothing. For example his work attire consists of a dress shirt, pants, and shoes as well as a nice jacket, even though the studio he works at doesn’t have a dress code. For his vacation to Carabo, Reggie brought several pairs of solid color swim shorts, various thin t-shirts, and a pair of all black flip flops.

Reggie is an outgoing guy, trying to be personable with everyone he meets. He will often speak whatever is on his mind, which can get him into trouble sometimes, such as when attending religious school. However, he can often be a frank observer, stating the truths that others would not. Though he doesn’t try to be rude or crass as he believes that he’s doing a good thing stating things how he sees it.

Reggie is also a lover of knowledge, an aspect he has had since he was a small child. Reggie is always eager to try out new fields, having experimented with many hobbies over the years and still taking online college courses to this day. He also likes to test himself, such as by starting new projects or trying to push himself, especially with what he is capable of with programming.

Reggie also has a big competitive streak. Nurtured by his years of participating in sports as a child and teenager, Reggie always wants to win. This could include being his best self, but also being better than everyone around him. He was the kind of kid you didn’t want to play video games with because of his attitude.

While Reggie has no problem watching a violent movie or playing a similar type of video game, he is staunchly anti-violence in real life. He has frequently turned down his uncle’s offer to go hunting and is a vegetarian. Except he has never been in a life or death situation before, and has no clue what he would do in those circumstances.

Born on the Canadian west coast, the firstborn of the Grant family would be named Regulus, after the star. From a young age he would dislike this name, instead preferring to be called Reggie. Young Reggie’s parents were a pair of entrepreneurs who had started a local clothing brand and as such were quite busy. Reggie would spend a lot of time with his grandparents, who almost exclusively raised him.

When Reggie was about six years old, his family moved to Vancouver, a much bigger city than the one Reggie had been born in. As luck would have it, the Grant parents’ company would begin to take off, and they came into quite a bit of wealth. Deciding to use this wealth on their son, Reggie would be enrolled in a private Christian elementary school. While the education provided was better than public schools, Reggie would have a hard time with the religious component.

The young man would frequently butt heads with teachers over the various Christian principles, often being sent to detention. Things would only get worse when Reggie discovered that he had feelings for his best friend at school. After a failed attempt to kiss him, Reggie would be suspended. A fight with his parents would ensue, after which Reggie went to live with his grandparents.

He would remain with his grandparents for several months, until his parents apologized to Reggie. Moving back in with his folks, his parents decided to pivot him to public school. So it was in that next September that Reggie started high school. He found the public system much more freeing, and could openly be homosexual.

It was in high school that Reggie was exposed to computer programming, it quickly becoming his favorite class. Reggie would end up graduating with honors and would then get accepted into a college computers program. Initially staying on campus, Reggie would befriend Alec, a guy living in the dorm room next to his. Reggie would get to know Alec, learning that he was studying electrical engineering. Eventually the two would fall in love.

Remaining a couple for the rest of their time at college, Reggie and Alec would be inseparable. After college they would move in together in Vancouver. Reggie would find a job in the city working at an indie video game studio, while Alec joined an electrical firm. Things would be good between them, Alec even proposing to Reggie a year ago.

Reggie would plan an epic wedding on a Vancouver beach, ready to begin the next phase of his life. However, two weeks before the wedding, Alec would back out. Alec had realized that he wasn’t ready to get married, which sparked a huge fight with Reggie. In the end, Alec left and returned to his home town of Halifax. Reggie, pissed and numb at the same time, decided to still go on their planned honeymoon trip to the island of Carabo. Arriving on the island, Reggie hoped that partying to the max would make him feel better.

Well, I wouldn't say it is exactly a normal thing, but I'm not going to hold anyone to those restrictions and say only so many celebrity-type characters are going to be allowed. It probably would be better to consider why they decided to come to Carabo for their final documentary rather than the above, I'd feel.

Rhys is 6.3 ft tall and well-built. He does not look like a bodybuilder, but his taekwondo and climbing left his muscles well-defined. He had an accident that left him hospitalized for a while, and he's slowly rebuilding now. There are two noticeable deep scars on his arm. One on his bicep, the other on his shoulder. Both resulting from the accident and the subsequent surgeries. This whole body is littered with tiny scars from either his job or his sports.

Rhys is a bit.. cocky. He's known as a ladies man and while he himself doesn't agree nor like the blatant disrespect around that term, he's also not one to correct people. Let them think what they think about him. If they would give him a chance though, they would find a thoughtful and kind man. One's who up for a good time. Generally, he's laid back, likes to be around friends, likes to laugh, have a beer, have fun. Doesn't like spending time alone. His work-ethic is great, and both in his 9-5 and his part-time job as a stunt-double, he is diligent and meticulous. As he with his sports. When climbing, you need good communication, and leadership. Being unserious there could cost someone greatly. So, it allows him to find the balance on when he can joke around with a beer in his hand, or when he needs a clear mind and sharp deduction skills.

He's always looking for the next thrill, but he's a softie for his mum and little sister. He would slap your ass, but ask permission first.

While generally optimistic, his work accident and subsequent recovery time and the pain that comes with, sometimes leave him as a bit of a grouch when the pain bothers him. It's not a topic he likes to discuss much, either, and he'll generally joke it away by telling people that they 'should've seen the other guy'.

Rhys was tough shit. Until he wasn't. He had never been the teacher's pet or a student that caught the attention of his teachers. Or well, he did, but not in the ways a parent would be proud about. He had normal grades, did what he was told (generally), and was a good brother to his younger sister; Willow. But, without any real ambition, Rhys kind of went through life trying to find what would make him tick. He didn't have a career path set out for him since he was a boy, nothing spoke to him when he was going to job fairs, and no degree sounded exciting enough to go for. One thing was for sure though; he excelled at everything physical.

It started young, when Rhys was hard to get back inside once he was out there running, playing, being on his bike, and climbing trees. Her parents tried to negate the more dangerous stuff by putting him in sports; basketball, taekwondo, and climbing. Anything to keep the boy from running circles in his room, his hands itching for something to do. The latter sport intrigued him the most, and all throughout high school and college, Rhys was often found in climbing halls, or scaling cliffs with his friend Axel. His major was also to no one's surprise; physical. Physical Therapy, that is. He was smart enough for it, and Rhys finally straightened out a bit. And while he dropped basketball, he continued Taekwondo and climbing, and added a new sport; mountain biking. Anything for the thrill, really, though that particular hobby got him an unexpected side gig; stunt-double. He was originally drafted for his looks and skill, but his name quickly became a known one. While he wasn't famous, and liked to keep it that way, he was known for doing his work well and diligently. His normal 9-5 had to make more room for being paid to jump through a window made out of sugar, or tumbling down stairs or getting beat up by some hot-shot actor. Despite being injured many times, Rhys had found what made him tick.

Until it nearly cost him everything. On one particular shooting, there had already been a weird feeling in Rhys's chest, something was off. But nothing could have prepared him for the disaster that followed. While tumbling off a building, two safety features failed. One being the lined that would soften his fall, and two being the cushion at the bottom. The first broke, the second deflated too fast, making Rhys landing a hard one. He broke multiple ribs in his body, got a concussion, and had to undergo several surgeries. While injuries are a given in this profession, the negligence on set had been clear. So clear, the judged ruled in his favour and granted him a massive payout for the damages.

A smidge of that payout was now going to a vacation in Carabo. Willow pushed him to go, to relax, to warm up his now healed bones. Rhys didn't have the heart to tell her no, nor that he was planning on enjoying the more thrilling things of the island as opposed to lazying around in the sun. He needed to feel some thrill again. His recovery was long, and recovery is a big word.
