Spider-Verse: Dark Destiny

Come one, come all and join us on adventure through the intricate Multiversal Web of Life and Destiny.

I've been really itching for a Spider-Man/Spider-Verse themed RP and so I decided to create one with the help of @Crimson Flame.

I have a few interested already, but I still wanted to open it up to the public before I got started with the OOC.

Premise: The multiverse is in danger! Huge shocker, right? No, Shocker is not going around the multiverse killing Spider-People. But there is someone going around the multiverse taking out Spider Totems. Why? You'll have to find out on your journey.

Who are you and how will you be of any help?

You're from a universe that doesn't have a Peter Parker. In fact this was a universe originally without a Spider totem. Now? It has a bit more than it needs. The Spider God Anansi changed the history and trajectory of this universe, creating a whole new branched timeline after dropping his spiders at different points in the past 5 years.

What does that mean for you and your character? You get new powers, new memories, but wait there's more! As good as it feels to be a web-slinging, wall-crawling superhero or villain, it's a double-edged sword where misery follows you and darkens your path. So while you may have had a happy go lucky, stress-free life before becoming a Spider changed that with seemingly unavoidable loss.

Are you ready or willing to take on this mantle and all that comes with it? If so, the Multiverse needs your help.

There's a lot more details that'll be revealed later and throughout the roleplay, but this is the gist. And while this universe originally never had a Spider-Man it was still a world full of heroes, villains, powers, advanced tech, and magic. So while you may not have been a Spider in a past life your character could have been a hero or villain of their own making, but their entire lives were changed once Anansi altered history and in some ways their motivations.

This also means you may have powers and tech outside the normal Spider-powers as long as it's within reason.

Bob is a bit shorter than average with brown hair and brown eyes. He tends to wear baggy clothing to hide the fact that he is pretty muscular for his frame

While most of Weaver's suit is spandex, the helmet, with fake eye holes, is made of plexiglass. His webshooters are connected to his gloves. The scarf serves no purpose besides Weaver thinking it's cool.

How has your life changed since becoming a Spider-Totem?
For the most part life has been pretty normal, living with my parents above their pizza parlor and occasionally helping out. Things changed just days after my 15th birthday when I was dared to break into an abandoned building that was rumored to be a former super-villain hide out. I didn't want to do this but there was a girl involved so what more do I need to say?

Oddly enough I have two memories of this event, in one the entire group was in and out the place in about thirty minutes, though Stacey and me did spend five minutes together in the bedroom. In the other memory I was bitten by a spider the second we entered the bedroom and lost conscious for 15 minutes, only to find out my "friends" had all left without me after I woke up. While I was looking for the exit I found a weird half empty canister on the floor, which I took with me out of curiosity.

It was a week later that I discovered the effect of the spider bite, but looking back I had been feeling a lot better than normal for a few days. I accidentally crushed a glass while home alone and the shards stuck to my hand. Wanting to know what happened I ended up getting in touch with the Tinkerer who was able to run enough tests to confirm that my life wasn't in danger.

Six months later the Tinkerer blackmailed me in stealing back some tech from a villain who refused to pay him which I pulled of without serious trouble thanks my wallcrawling abilities and I was inspired to actually do some good with my powers thanks to rumors about other spider themed supers. I had my suit and helmet made by the Tinkerer and finally remembered the canister. With it the tinkerer was able to create my web fluid, as well as the dissolver spray and he threw the web shooters and gloves in as a bonus.

Unfortunately by messing up several pizza deliveries due to my activities as Weaver, including ruining the pizza by not being careful enough while swinging across town and being late due to stopping a robbery I ruined my relationship with my parents.

Nowadays I'm fully dependent on Tinkerer for repairs to my stuff and for webfluid, and he still has me doing jobs for him from time to time but at least he only needs me to steal stuff from criminals.

• Scarf: Technically not a piece of tech but it's made from easily tearable material to prevent any accidents

What's your story? What was it like before and after becoming a Spider-Totem?
I guess I'll start at the beginning. My brother Danny and I are miracle twins. Hell, they weren't even expecting me. But I'll get to that. My parents tried so hard and for so long to have a baby and they almost gave up. Then one day they were pregnant. They were so overjoyed. During the entire pregnancy they thought they were only having one child. A boy. Apparently I was hiding under Danny the entire time, but when the time came for us to be born I decided I no longer wanted to hide and popped out first. Their little girl was in the world and already taking charge.

Ever since I was a kid I've always known I was... different. My mind was always fascinated with learning about almost everything and I soon realized it didn't take me long to understand what I wanted to know. Our parents noticed Danny and my interest in science immediately and did everything they could to support us and give us what we needed. Honestly you couldn't ask for better parents than David and Denise. I love you mom and dad!

Where were we? Oh right. High school. This is where the wonder twins started going their separate ways to find themselves, ourselves. Danny focused more on science club and I was forcefully thrown into the world of cheerleading. It wasn't like I tried to resist it. I kind of just went with the flow. I still took all AP classes, but when you didn't look like a nerd no one cared about you being smart. I didn't want to flaunt it either. I just wanted to have fun and make new friends.

Outside of school I was allowed a bit more freedom. Despite my rigorous cheerleading schedule I managed to sneak in gymnastic and martial arts lessons. They spoke to me just as much as science did and I will always have a passion for them. I'm a practitioner of Jeet Kune Do and Hou Quan aka Monkey Kung Fu. But despite this and this tough exterior I present I'm really weak.

That was until the day Danny and I took a field trip to Oscorp. It was the first school activity we did together. It was like fate or destiny or something. We were being shown around by THE Norman Osborn himself. I was impressed, but apparently Danny had met him a couple of times since he had been hanging out with his son, Harry. We were led to this exhibit of genetically modified spiders. I thought they were pretty cool, but one was missing. That set everyone on alert. Norman assured us that we weren't in any danger, but that didn't help calm down the arachnophobes so he escorted the group out of room. I stayed behind, curious about the last spider, and Danny and Harry stayed behind when they noticed I wasn't with the group.

I came out of hiding and Harry said we needed to get out of there before his dad killed us. I doubted his dad actually would and I didn't plan on leaving until I found the spider. Fortunately while we were bickering the spider found me. It landed on and bit the back of my neck. I yelped and smacked it away just for it to end up landing on Danny and biting him as well before scurrying away never to be seen again. I didn't feel anything entirely too wrong after the bite, but I was pretty nauseous the rest of the day so I went straight to sleep once I got home.

I then woke up a spider staring right at my face. Normally I wouldn't be scared of spiders, but no one wants to wake up to one right in front of their face. I yelled and jumped up to my ceiling and to my surprise I was sticking to it. But to an even bigger surprise the spider was on the opposite side of the room seemingly mimicking everything that I did. I called my brother in and we discovered that we both got powers from the spider-bites.

This brought Danny and I closer than ever, but at the same time created a chasm of anger and grief between us... You see... Danny and I had different ideas on how to train and get used to our powers. He wanted to do this big wrestling event and I wanted to patrol the streets and hope for the best. The wrestling event offered a cash prize, but I feel like Danny really did it to boost his confidence. It may have had the opposite effect. Don't get me wrong. Danny was great. I ended up catching it on someone's TV. The problem was that he was TOO great. The promoter shorted him because he didn't put on a good enough show. What better show could you get from a FIFTEEN YEAR OLD beating up a pro wrestler? That wasn't the worst of it. The promoter got robbed immediately afterwards and Danny didn't stop him. I don't blame him for feeling the way he did... I just wish he helped him anyway. Our dad would still be alive and maybe we would've gotten the money. But instead the man that stole the money, stole our dad's life.

We didn't find out until later that night and tracked him down. It took everything in me not to kill him, but all I could think of is what our dad would want us to do with these powers. He'd want us to use them to help people, not hurt them. Easier said than done. After that night I needed some space and decided to do the hero thing on my own. Danny did the same. We initially even had our own areas to patrol. The first year as Spider-Woman was the worst year of my life and it was only just beginning. After stealing some things I needed from our school's chemistry and robotics labs I built webshooters and kind of a reputation that year. Yeah, there were other heroes running about, but they weren't spreading fear through the underworld due to the way I chose to handle my grief.

I tried to return to a sense of normalcy when my best friend Liz invited me out to go to a Halloween Party. I was starting to make a name for myself and decided to go as well... myself. I figured there'd be other costumes and if anything happened while I was out I'd already be in costume and ready to swing into action. That was the stupidest decision I made in my life. On the way to the party some psychopath calling himself the Hobgoblin kidnapped Liz right in front of me. Told me if I wanted to save her I'd have to meet him for some climatic Halloween battle on the Manhattan Bridge. I didn't hesitate to follow him to the bridge. We fought, hard. Neither of us were holding back and I feel like that angered him more so he decided to play dirty and tossed Liz off the bridge. I... I tried to save her. I miscalculated and... I still hear the snap. I'm sorry, can I take a minute?

Where were we? Oh right... The maniac was laughing and yelling that he won, that he broke the Spider while I was cradling Liz's body. I couldn't take his laughter anymore. His gloating. I wanted to shut him up for good. I almost did, but Iron Man showed up and stopped me and the Hobgoblin instantly. Apparently he was throwing a Halloween party himself when he was alerted to the chaos at the bridge. He gave me his card and took him away leaving me alone with Liz. I lost my best friend and I almost lost myself that night. I waited with Liz until the ambulance came and went to tell her parents what happened, leaving out the part about me being Spider-Woman.

It took me a month to finally call and meet up with Tony Stark. I called him off a tracphone, but he told me already knew who I was so I went to Stark Tower to meet him. He told me that the Hobgoblin was a disgruntled Oscorp employee named Roderick Kingsley who stole an experimental formula that gave him his powers. Oscorp. In one year it both created and destroyed me. I didn't know what was going on at that company, but I didn't like it. Tony offered to be my hero and science mentor. If I was in a better headspace I may have taken him up on it. But I really just wanted to do my own thing. I just asked him for some Stark-Tech that could improve my webshooters since the stuff at school was kind of trash. He obliged after seeing what I had done with the very little I had to work with and at my young age. Before I left he offered me some advice about handling my grief, especially as a hero. How even though it feels good sometimes I can't take my grief and anger out on criminals. There's a line we don't cross and the ones we lost wouldn't want us to kill in their name.

I took his advice and went back on the streets as the new and improved Spider-Woman. Unfortunately J Jonah Jameson of the Daily Bugle began branding me as a menace after what happened with Liz and the Hobgoblin. I couldn't escape it. Besides that the rest of the year was smooth. I got PTSD around Holidays after Halloween and didn't allow myself to have fun. Not even for Christmas. I had to stay on alert just in case some villain wanted to ruin people's holidays or specifically mine. I also didn't like staying home because it was our first Thanksgiving and Christmas without our dad. I know Danny was still grieving as well, but I couldn't extend that olive branch. On New Year's Eve, my extra alertness paid off when my Spider-Sense was going crazy. Times Square was attacked and turned into some huge illusion by some other costumed psycho calling himself Mysterio, Master of Illusions. I knew I couldn't take on another supervillain by myself and I honestly really just needed Danny with me. He was the Yin to my Yang. My twin. I sent my pet Jumping Spider to find Danny while I held Mysterio off. Thankfully he wasn't too far and the two of us took down Mysterio together freeing Times Square right as the Apple dropped and officially becoming known as the Spider-Man and Spider-Woman of New York.

There wasn't really anything too eventful after that besides a couple more Spider heroes popping up out of nowhere. One of them had a very similar fighting style to a criminal I fought before. I can't believe I beat her into being a hero. Things really got interesting once Danny and I got to ESU. Our worlds opened up in a lot of ways. We still worked together as heroes, but we began branching out again in our personal lives. Danny started interning at Oscorp and I became Dr. Octavius's TA. He was only two years older than me, but so brilliant and accomplished. I was honestly kind of jealous, but in a, "I just found my rival", kind of way.

During this time Danny and I met Felix Hardy, the Black Cat and our ex. Yes, you heard that right. We met him at the same time and I don't know if it was his power, his charisma, his stupidly beautiful face, or the fact that he was someone that understood us, but he got us hooked that first night. We didn't care that he was a thief. He was the most honorable one I've ever met and I'm not saying that because of personal bias. One day when patrolling by myself I ran across him on a heist. I confronted him and one thing led to another and we kind of began dating. Neither of us truly cared for the idea of labels or exclusivity, especially in our lines of work. But it was fun and it was the first time I really allowed myself to be vulnerable and fall for someone since... Anyway, things were going great until Danny found out. A tiny rift formed between us that only got wider once the symbiote came into the picture. Some alien goo attached itself to Danny giving him an incredible new costume, powers, and a bad personality. But it was one that Felix apparently liked. They started seeing each other. I don't blame either of them, not really. Cats are creatures of self-interest and well, the alien goo speaks for Danny. I could tell it was changing him.

After discovering one of the symbiote's weaknesses I stole some tech from Doc's lab to modify my web-shooters to create electric webbing. This was the hardest battle I had to fight, but eventually I was able to get the symbiote off of Danny and seemingly destroyed it. Felix ended things with Danny after that and tried to fix things with me, but I just wanted to be friends with him, for now at least.

That event seemed to have the domino effect of spawning even more Spider-themed heroes. We were starting to become our own unofficial club or team. I crossed paths with them, but there were never any huge team ups. Sometime later Otto's girlfriend was killed. This brought us closer together and he revealed to me that he knew that I was Spider-Woman and that I inspired him to become the Arachnid. He apparently created his own spider. Was that what was happening? Were people going around creating genetically modified spiders like Oscorp or did more of his spiders get out? That was an investigation for another day. I finally had someone besides my brother that I could trust with all of my life. Someone that understood the pain of losing someone they loved to this life. I helped train him, he gave me pointers as well and I no longer had to steal anything from the lab that I needed. Working closely together we were able to accomplish more than we would've ever apart.

Fast forward to today, life is great. It's been a peaceful life as Spider-Woman, but I pray I didn't just jinx things.

Queen of the Web: So you know how I suddenly gained all the powers of a spider? Well, minus the webs. I gained something freaky instead. The ability to communicate with and control spiders. It's like I have this empathic and psychic connection with them. It's weird, but surprisingly comes in handy.

My brother and I decided we weren't going to let the lack of webs stop us and together with our resources at the lab we designed our own web-fluid and web shooters. We've been working on different concepts for different versions of the webs.

Uhhh... Yeah. You'd have to be some kind of idiot not to. Give me a list of everyone that said no.

What are your goals for the future?
My goals? Despite how chaotic my life is as a hero and the losses that have come with it I want to continue to do the work while staying in school and working with Doc in his lab. But my ultimate goal? I don't know yet. I'm still young. Maybe build my own company and maybe save the universe or something.

I love it. It's my home. It can be dark, dangerous, and dirty sometimes but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

David Davis was the best dad anyone could've asked for. He may not be physically here anymore, but I carry him with me every time I put on the mask.

Denise Davis is my strong and amazing mom. She's doing the best she can to hold it together for herself and for us with our dad gone. I hope she knows how much I love and appreciate her.

Liz Allan was my best friend, my soulmate, and maybe even the love of my life. I never really got to tell her how I felt. I haven't even told Danny. I was going to tell her everything, even about my powers on Halloween. Now I'll never get the chance.

Danny Davis is my slightly younger twin brother. He and everyone else sees me as the twin that shines brightly, but it's not true. Deep down I know Danny shines even brighter than me. He just has to come into his own and step out of the dark.

Sam Blythe or Araltus, depending on who you're asking, is kind of like the big sister I never had, but always wanted. She used to be on the other side and saw me at my worst, so once she became a Spider and switched to the side of heroes all I began to see was the good in her. We work pretty well whenever we do cross webs. Otto hooked her up with some webshooters, but I kinda miss her grappling hook. Reminded me of Kim Possible.

Dr. Otto Octavius is my professor and fellow Spider-themed hero. But lately he's sorta been a little more than that. Not my boyfriend. We're not dating. We're... friends. Yeah, friends.

Alexander Lee is one of my friends from the dojo. His uncle was my sensei... Besides Danny, Xander is someone who truly gets how I feel when it comes to the losses we've suffered.

The other Spider-People are cool I guess. I never expected there to be so many after Danny and I came onto the scene, but I do find it interesting how we all seem to have unique abilities.

I went to school with Bob Brown, but I don't really know too much about him. Actually, now that I think about it he delivered a messed up pizza to me once. Haven't ordered from that place since.

What's your story? What was it like before and after becoming a Spider-Totem?
My story started off rather boring. A child of brilliance surrounded by ignorant bullies my entire life. From my parents to the kids at school. It didn't help that I started High School early and went to MIT at fourteen. Though at MIT I actually felt more at home. I may have been younger than the other students, but they never gave me a hard time for it. I learned a lot from my time there and while I wished I could truly socialize them, the age gap made it rather impossible outside of dorm activities. So instead I focused solely on school and graduated with a few degrees under my belt at eighteen.

I moved back home to New York to take a job at ESU while also studying for my doctorate. This was when i met her. Anna Maria Marconi. She was a wonderfully brilliant scientist who was also lacking in the social department. She worked at Horizon Labs, but we worked together a lot and one thing led to another and we began dating. During this time several spider-themed heroes started appearing on the scene. I didn't like how dangerous they were making the city. It was already a problem with Iron Man being there. Now there was just a bunch of irresponsible vigilantes causing havoc in New York. But I ignored it for the most part and continued to live my life with Anna.

I couldn't avoid the spider plague for long, because two of them ended up enrolling in my class. Of course I didn't realize it at first, but I was suspicious of one of them. Her name's Caty Davis, a brilliant student and a thief! Okay, she was a thief, but always for a good cause. She didn't have much money and she only stole what she needed to make technology that she felt she wouldn't be able to share with me. I set up a hidden camera in my lab and one day I saw her working on the very web-shooters that Spider-Woman used and she was using my equipment to make it. I followed her that day to a battle between her and a black-suited Spider-hero. I didn't recognize the costume, but it was clear they knew each other. It was an amazing battle that ended in the black suit being electrified off. Apparently it was some kind of alien goo. A symbiotic or parasitic species. It was seemingly destroyed, but before the two heroes left I discovered the other spider was her brother, Danny.

This intrigued me to no end. Were they born that way or did they receive powers in the same freak accident? I collected some blood left at the scene and went back to my lab to experiment and research. I needed to know everything about them. I even stopped working on my mechanical arms project. I discovered that they went on a field trip to Oscorp shortly before they started their hero careers. I dug deeper into Oscorp and discovered their scrapped genetically modified spider program. Interesting. If Osborn could do it I could as well. So I began crafting a spider of my own. I was going to show these heroes what it meant to really save the world and stop crime. I was going to be Superior in every way. I even planned to use Caty's DNA that I collected to boost the spider even more. It was truly brilliant and the day came. It went off without a hitch. After letting the spider bite me I became the Arachnid, a brilliant force of nature hellbent on stopping crime and evil.

I created gadgets to help my crime-fighting and even finished my claws. It was all perfect and I'll be honest. I was very excited to begin. It felt like I was going to save the world from the bullies that tried so hard to bring people down. I began taking on the underworld and messed with the wrong goons. They worked for Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin of New York. He didn't like that and apparently he was a great investigator as well because he discovered who I was.

He kidnapped Anna and sent me a live feed where he tortured me with his words. I swung across the city, but it didn't matter how fast I went. He wasn't going to let me reach him or her in time. He shot her just when I was halfway there. I finally arrived, but Fisk was gone and Anna was sitting lifeless in a chair. I untied her and cradled her body while I sobbed and yelled out to the heavens. Fisk made an enemy of the wrong Arachnid that day. I swore vengeance that night and my true career as the Arachnid began.

Despite just wanting to be alone I found myself connecting with the other spiders, specifically Sam and Caty. They were the devil and angels on my respective shoulders. Sam was an enemy of Fisk as well and was feeding my vengeance. I upgraded her tech and gave her webshooters since the grappling hook was going to get her killed one of these days. Caty showed me the good in me as well as the city and other people. Before I kept our relationship strictly professional, but overtime I've truly grown to care for her, but I haven't allowed myself to forget Anna.

Meanwhile Fisk hasn't given up on his campaign against me or Sam. He's even gone as far as hiring Kraven the Hunter to track us down and kill us every time we got close to him. We always won, but it gave Fisk enough time to move everything around. But we won't give up. Kingpin will die by our hands. We promise that.

Powers and Tech
Through my analysis of the other spider-heroes I seem to have gotten the standard set of powers from super strength, enhanced agility and speed, durability, endurance, regeneration, and senses. A rather fit physique with little to no effort to maintain as well as the ability to stick to and crawl on surfaces.

One gift that it took me a while to notice that I had was that my spider enhanced my intelligence and my capacity for learning and remembering to even greater lengths.

With this enhanced intelligence I've crafted several gadgets and devices that would help me stop crime throughout New York. To compensate for the lack of organic webs I built my own web-shooters with varying types of web cartridges. I perfected my AI tentacles or legs after receiving my powers making me a true spider in a sense even if it was originally designed with a more Octopus theme in mind. The claws at the end have several functions as well.

I have spider-bots that I use for surveillance and data collection. I also have spider-tracers to track down enemies or follow goons to a hideout.

Do you believe in aliens?
An alien possessed one of my students, of course I do.

What are your goals for the future?
To kill Wilson Fisk and replace him as Kingpin ushering in a new era of safety and peace in New York.

How much technology do you use on a daily basis?
I'm a science professor and a tech-savvy vigilante. I'll let you guess.

I love my students. We're close in age and their brilliance keeps me on my toes, never too comfortable or stagnant with my learning. They also helped me to see more to life.

Caty Davis: She's my TA, a wonderful student, and lately has become a lot more for me.

Samantha Blythe: My partner-in-crime. I trust this woman with my life. She's the reason that I see the humanity in criminals. They're not all evil, greedy, or selfish. She was able to change so I believe others can as well.

Danny Davis: He's Caty's brother and a former student of mine. He's also a fellow Spider-themed hero. We aren't close, but I figure we should start working on a friendship soon.

What's your story? What was it like before and after becoming a Spider-Totem?

So my mom and dad always wanted kids, but had trouble uh... making one. Well after years of trying, they finally had us. My twin sister Caty and I. Life was good for us. Our parents loved us, and supported our interest. My sister and I loved science, and would perform science experiments together, and learned as much as we could about whatever interested us at the time.

I know I know, most kids don’t usually do science experiments for fun, but my sister and I definitely weren’t most kids. At least I wasn’t. When I wasn’t studying, I played with Barbie dolls while most boys played with Hot Wheels cars. Needless to say, I was bullied a lot by other kids. I didn’t have a bunch of friends. My sister on the other hand was the popular twin. She had a ton of friends.

That continued into high school. My sister was the cheerleader, and I was the nerd that joined the science club. Before your mind goes where it’s going, I’m not bitter. Seriously I’m not. I could never deal with being popular. Having all those people begging for your attention, ugh I could never. My sister and the other science club members are all the companionship I need... Although... a boyfriend would be nice... maybe... If I can find anyone who could love me...

Anyway, I still got bullied a lot. By one guy in particular. A jerk named Skyler. He was a jock. I had a crush on him. On my mothers advice, I went to tell him how I felt. What’s the worst that could happen she said? You know what happened? He laughed at me, beat me up, shoved me into a locker, and outed me to the whole school. The bullying continued. My sister defended me sometimes, but that only made it worse. I can honestly say high school was hell for me. The one bright spot was my best friend Harry. We met in the science club. He was one of the few friends I had.

Then, everything changed when we took a field trip to Oscorp. Harry’s dad Norman was showing us around, and I paid very close attention to everything. This was would be my future career after all. Then we got to the exhibit of genetically modified spiders. Their research was fascinating, but at the time, I still thought Spiders were creepy crawly and disgusting. When one was missing, you can bet I was out of there with everyone else… But then Caty stayed behind, and Harry and I went to look for her.

Harry did what he could to get Caty back with the rest of the group, and while they were bickering, Caty found the spider. It bit her, she yelped and flung it away and it bit me. I screamed like a little girl. Thank god none of my bullies were around to see that. I didn’t feel so good after that, and when I got home, I passed out.

The next morning, I woke up to something shocking. I had abs! I had literally become ripped overnight! I also didn’t need my glasses anymore. I guess that was nice… I kind of like my specs though. Anyway, it turned out we had gotten superpowers from that spider. Caty and I both had the same abilities for the most part, but Caty had the ability to control spiders, and I didn’t. I’m not gonna lie, at the time, I was upset that she had gotten something extra, and I didn’t. I would only find out later that I did get an extra ability. But… more on that later…

Anyway, the two of us messed around and tried to figure out how our powers worked. Caty wanted to patrol the streets, and I wasn’t sure about that yet. I felt like we needed more practical experience. I read about a wrestling event that offered a cash prize if you can last in the ring with a professional wrestler. It seemed like a good idea. I need the money, and that wrestler reminded me of Skyler. Maybe one day, I’ll have the nerve to take him on. This would totally help get the nerve.

I threw together a costume, entered the ring, and kicked that wrestlers butt good. The audience was cheering for me! It did wonders for my self esteem. Everything was going great. Then the promoter shorted my money because apparently I didn’t put on a good show. So, I didn’t think it was my problem when he got robbed. I let that damn burglar go.

Then it became my problem. When we got home, our house had been broken into, and our dad had been shot dead. We tracked the culprit down, and it was the same guy I let go. I felt horrible about it. I still feel guilty now… As much as we really wanted to kill him, Dad wouldn’t want us to go around killing people. We got the man arrested, and we decided we both needed space. We decided to do the superhero thing, separately.

I told Harry about the whole situation, and he became my man in the chair. Having the son of the Oscorp Empire as my bff was great. I had access to all sorts of technology! Particularly better stuff to make better quality web fluid.

I had a good solo tenure as Spider-Man. I stopped some criminals. I helped people. I got cats out of trees. People cheered for Spider-Man. Everyone loved me! Well, not everyone, The Daily Bugle wrote shit about me every day, but I wasn’t too concerned about that. I was popular for once. Well, Spider-Man was popular. Danny was still a loser… Danny still cried like a baby every night for his daddy.

Life as Spider-Man was great! But Danny was still getting bullied. I know I could have kicked Skyler’s butt anytime, but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. My home life also wasn’t so great. Caty pretty much went MIA, and with dad gone, I was the one who was there for our mom. Thanksgiving and Christmas was pretty much just the two of us.

On New Years Eve was the day I got my sister back. A costumed supervillian calling himself Mysterio attacked, and trapped New York in an illusion. Caty and I took him down together, and we became the Spider Twins of New York. J Jonah Jameson didn’t have anything nice to say about us, but when does he ever?

We both graduated high school, and attended ESU. Harry got me a job at Oscorp, and Caty became a TA. Finally things were looking up for us. Of course, things can never stay that way can they?

During this time Caty and I met Felix Hardy, the Black Cat and our ex. (I know. I can’t believe I actually had a boyfriend let alone an ex!) We both met him on the same night. He was handsome, charming, and apparently I have a weakness for bad boys… It didn’t matter that he was a thief, he was a good person once you look past that. I fell for him, but apparently, he preferred Caty, and they started dating. I know Caty deserved to be happy after everything she’d been through. But I would be lying if I said I wasn’t upset… She could get anybody she wanted, why couldn’t she give me the hot thief?

One day while on patrol, I came across some weird alien goo. I didn’t get a chance to take it to Oscorp to study it before it latched onto me. It gave me a a new black suit, and I was stronger than I had ever been. I even learned I had the ability to manipulate webs. However, the goo corrupted me, and turned me into someone terrible. I did and said things I’m not proud of, but at the time I didn’t care. Felix left Caty for me, and I was all too happy to rub it in her face. I beat criminals to a pulp, and I even taught Skyler a hard, painful lesson about bullying. Years later… To onlookers, it seemed like Spider-Man beat up an innocent man for no reason… Now people don’t cheer when they see Spider-Man anymore. Even Harry is mad at me!

Caty discovered what the alien goo, known as Symbiote’s weakness, and after a fight, got that stuff of me, and seemingly destroyed it.Felix left me, and tried to get back with Caty, which honestly, good riddance. If he doesn’t like the real me, then he’s not worth the trouble. Even if he is hot…

Now my reputation is in shambles, and I have to deal with the fallout of what I did with the Symbiote attached to me. Things can only go up from here, right?

My sister and I make our own brand of spider silk that we can shoot out of web shooters worn on our wrists. The silk is a tough flexible fiber with adhesive qualities. It is strong enough to support our weight, and can use it to swing. The webs disolve into powder two hours after being exposed to air for easy clean up! We can make different variations of the web for different purposes. My normal webs are pink, but I also make them different colors. Including rainbow web for Pride!

My sister got the ability to talk to spiders, and I got the ability to control webs. I think my ability is cooler personally. I can manipulate my webs once they’ve been shot out. I can make all sorts of stuff with it! I can also make webs stronger, or razor sharp.

Do you believe in aliens?
Absolutely! Could you imagine what we could learn from civilizations outside our own planet?

Unfortunately, my experience with aliens haven’t been pleasant…

What are your goals for the future?
I’m going to college to study science. I want to be a scientist someday. Dr. Daniel Davis has a nice ring to it, wouldn’t you say? Now what field I’m going to specialize in? That I’m not so sure. I’m also doing the superhero thing.

I love New York. I was born and raised here. I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. It’s my city.

All the time! I’m on my phone, iPad, or computer on a regular basis. I also intern at a science lab. There’s a lot of tech there.

Hi, hi! Here we go. I tried going for a villain-turned-vigilante who retained her lack of morals to maybe give some conflict especially since she's on the older end of the characters. I'm not sure if I went too overboard with the backstory or if I need to expound on it more.

What's your story? What was it like before and after becoming a Spider-Totem?
Let's see here... I don't think there was anything particularly alarming or interesting during my childhood days. I mean, I was your typical kid. I got into a couple of fights, a bit of roughhousing, and might have gotten on the other side of the law every now and then but that's just typical kid stuff, right? Typical delinquent kid stuff, I guess. I'm not saying my parents were particularly abusive, just... absent if you will. They bailed me out when it counted, and went to PT meetings at school when they could but when we got home, they just shrugged it off as me acting out a bit, gave me a few stern words, and maybe a day or two of doing all the chores in the house, then let me go about my life again.

I was a teenager leading a relatively normal life. I was, up until I had gotten involved with one Mikhail Moronov. Now let me tell you this guy was no joke. I met him through one of my part-time jobs as an assistant in an underground fighting ring and he noticed that I had a particular skill set he wanted to cultivate. Something about lacking the fear of consequences or... well, actually just lacking fear overall. He offered me a job I could not refuse. Literally. Like, if I refused, I don't think I would still be here. Anyway, Moronov put me into training which constituted having to learn... various questionable things. I think my parents believe me to have died which is probably Moronov's doing.

Now, you might be asking me, what kind of work did Mikhail Mornov put me on? I think it's best for both of us that you don't know.

Either way, that all came to a close shortly after I was bitten by this weird, anomalous spider. Our little base of operations was raided by one of the rival groups and I had personally seen Mikhail Moronov killed. I was freed from my contract with this devil of a man and I escaped the base as quickly as possible. However, the only thing I wished that could have been different was that I hadn't stayed to watch my former boss die as this had caused me to be too late to save a partner of mine— Gabriel.

Secret life aside, I had since moved on to take on a job as a freelance writer. However, these new powers were... interesting and I always had an itch to do something more physical. And so, I became a vigilante. We're going on a solid four years now.

I wasn't exactly planning to be all that present. After all, there were already a couple of Spider-Folk swinging around and saving the day. But, some big asshole that we all know came knocking at one of my favorite hole-in-the-wall ramen shops... or well, more accurately, one of his lackeys. See, Kingpin needed space for his brand-new operation and he was going to buy or kill anyone who didn't want to hand over their land. Well, I couldn't stand by and let that happen to my favorite food shop, right? So... yeah, I killed a couple of lackeys and Kingpin has had a dart on the picture of my mask ever since. But hey, I was more than happy to be a pain in the ass for him and we've been on each other's throats since. He has roots and informants everywhere you look. Too bad Fisk is looking for a ghost who barely has a legal document to her name, yeah?

Psh, reminds me of the asshole he sicked after my ass. Electro. I almost felt my heart stop, literally, when I had first fought him because, yeah, getting thousands of volts of electricity into you was not healthy. But electricity isn't all that's cracked up to be and a bit of water and a bit of rubber was all it took to fully short-circuit him. I wanted to knock his head into a nearby wall but police were already swarming around him. Lucky man.

Partnered up with Arachnid a year or something back to take down Fisk— apparently, he had kidnapped and killed Otto's girlfriend to taunt him or break him. But that just ended up making a worse version of the guy. But hey, if there's anything I can thank Fisk for, it's somehow being the butterfly effect reason for me getting my cool webshooters so thanks Fisk and go fuck yourself.

Powers and Tech
Araltus: I observed super strength, an increase in agility, speed and durability, regeneration, and being able to stick to walls ever since I had been bitten by that spider. I also obtained this so called "spider senses" that allowed me to percieve if there is any danger around me.

Shade: Now as to why I was called Shade was due to this ability I have where I can essentially "enter" a shadow and traverse through it undetected. We call it shadow walking, one of the gifts that had been bestowed by making a deal with the devil known as Mikhail Moronov.

Equipment: Mainly, I use two shock batons modified to be able to produce higher voltages than normal to be able to help take down more powerful enemies. But I'm no stranger to using sharper weaponry or guns if need be. Alas, I don't have access to Moronov's personal armory anymore. I also have two grappling hooks that act as my own "webs" but, unfortunately, are limited in both length and the fact that I can't leave them behind and have to wait for it to reel in to use it again. The technology used in this grappling hook wherein there's no physical evidence left to wherever it sticks to is apparently alien in nature but I'm not sure what from.

Otto gave me my own webshooters that use the same web-fluid that he made. I usually swing by the lab after a couple of runs to get some web-fluid or have him look at it for repairs. I still have my grappling hooks just in case I lose web-fluid on the field.

Do you believe in aliens?
Yeah. What? Did you think we made these stuff? 'Course not!

What are your goals for the future?
Earn more, and get some more positive reviews as a freelance writer so I can get more jobs. Maybe I can get better pay too. Ha! Maybe I can also start writing original books to get published.

It's crowded and noisy but it's home.

How much technology do you use on a daily basis?
Not as much as I had before, that's for sure, but when aren't we using some form of technology?

I like writing a lot. From what I can remember, my parents always told me I was creative.
I did like training and I still regularly go to the gym or fighting rings, but I have to hold back nowadays and it's a bit of a shame.
Thanks to Moronov, I've become quite good at most types of conventional weaponry and martial arts. I still sometimes go to shooting ranges to see if I still got it. I do.
I've come to start keeping little plants around my small apartment.
I like smoking, or rather it's a bad habit I've picked up. Wonderful, isn't it?

What do you dislike?
I suppose I heavily dislike having to work under people. I finally got out of the deal with the devil and I won't easily go back.
I hate staying idle for too long. Maybe it just got drilled into me.
I don't want to lose anyone close to me ever again— so I try to keep people at arm's length.
I hate being known. I prefer being able to work and help from the dark instead of having my mask blown on newspapers. No one listens to the boundaries of vigilantes, unfortunately.
I know the people who had ended my group and they know I am alive. I doubt they have given up on making sure the Court has been completely wiped but they've kept quiet so far. I expect the day they decide it's time to go after me.

I was born without the ability to feel fear.
The group I was involved in was called The Crimson Court but our identities during that time were also changed. We both existed and did not exist during this time.

What are your thoughts on these people?
Bernard Blythe - My father. I don't remember much about him aside from the fact that he likes coffee and newspapers. I haven't checked in on him ever since my release.

Laura Blythe - My mother. She was much kinder but still overall absent. She's taught me how to be polite and what to touch and not touch, do or not do, because, without the ability of fear, I was an unruly child. I haven't checked in on her ever since my release.

Mikhail Moronov - My mentor, my boss, and the man who reformed my life. I am... unsure of what exactly he is— we called him a devil, but he called himself human. I both despised and admired him but he made sure that we were well-compensated and overall comfortable so long as we did our job. When he died, I did grieve him for an extremely short amount of time.

Gabriel De Luna - My partner in crime, brother in arms. Smoke, his codename was. He and I were closer than most of the other members of the Court. Unfortunately, he would not escape the slaughter of the Court.

Caty Davis | Spider-Woman - Despite our... past encounter, we can work together pretty decently nowadays. She's gotten a hold on her temper since our last encounter so it's fun to watch her and the other kids grow.

Otto Octavius | Arachnid - Mister Genius himself! He supplies me with my webshooters and some extra equipment when need be. Now he's the guy I usually team up with because he has some personal business to settle with Fisk. I feel like I should watch over him carefully. I don't care if he goes around killing like I do, it's just that he has to make sure his vengeance doesn't blind him enough to not see a bullet to his head.

Other Spider-Folk - It's like the Crimson Court but like... on the other side of the spectrum of masked, mysterious supers. But at least no one's keeping anyone in check. THat's what makes it a little fun, eh?

Hi, hi! Here we go. I tried going for a villain-turned-vigilante who retained her lack of morals to maybe give some conflict especially since she's on the older end of the characters. I'm not sure if I went too overboard with the backstory or if I need to expound on it more.

What's your story? What was it like before and after becoming a Spider-Totem?
Let's see here... I don't think there was anything particularly alarming or interesting during my childhood days. I mean, I was your typical kid. I got into a couple of fights, a bit of roughhousing, and might have gotten on the other side of the law every now and then but that's just typical kid stuff, right? Typical delinquent kid stuff, I guess. I'm not saying my parents were particularly abusive, just... absent if you will. They bailed me out when it counted, and went to PT meetings at school when they could but when we got home, they just shrugged it off as me acting out a bit, gave me a few stern words, and maybe a day or two of doing all the chores in the house, then let me go about my life again.

I was a teenager leading a relatively normal life. I was, up until I had gotten involved with one Mikhail Moronov. Now let me tell you this guy was no joke. I met him through one of my part-time jobs as an assistant in an underground fighting ring and he noticed that I had a particular skill set he wanted to cultivate. Something about lacking the fear of consequences or... well, actually just lacking fear overall. He offered me a job I could not refuse. Literally. Like, if I refused, I don't think I would still be here. Anyway, Moronov put me into training which constituted having to learn... various questionable things. I think my parents believe me to have died which is probably Moronov's doing.

Now, you might be asking me, what kind of work did Mikhail Mornov put me on? I think it's best for both of us that you don't know.

Either way, that all came to a close shortly after I was bitten by this weird, anomalous spider. Our little base of operations was raided by one of the rival groups and I had personally seen Mikhail Moronov killed. I was freed from my contract with this devil of a man and I escaped the base as quickly as possible. However, the only thing I wished that could have been different was that I hadn't stayed to watch my former boss die as this had caused me to be too late to save a partner of mine— Gabriel.

Secret life aside, I had since moved on to take on a job as a freelance writer. However, these new powers were... interesting and I always had an itch to do something more physical. And so, I became a vigilante. We're going on a solid four years now.

Powers and Tech
Araltus: I observed super strength, an increase in agility, speed and durability, regeneration, and being able to stick to walls ever since I had been bitten by that spider. I also obtained this so called "spider senses" that allowed me to percieve if there is any danger around me.

Shade: Now as to why I was called Shade was due to this ability I have where I can essentially "enter" a shadow and traverse through it undetected. We call it shadow walking, one of the gifts that had been bestowed by making a deal with the devil known as Mikhail Moronov.

Equipment: Mainly, I use two shock batons modified to be able to produce higher voltages than normal to be able to help take down more powerful enemies. But I'm no stranger to using sharper weaponry if need be. Alas, I don't have access to Moronov's personal armory anymore. I also have two grappling hooks that act as my own "webs" but, unfortunately, are limited in both length and the fact that I can't leave them behind and have to wait for it to reel in to use it again. The technology used in this grappling hook wherein there's no physical evidence left to wherever it sticks to is apparently alien in nature but I'm not sure what from.

Do you believe in aliens?
Yeah. What? Did you think we made these stuff? 'Course not!

What are your goals for the future?
Earn more, and get some more positive reviews as a freelance writer so I can get more jobs. Maybe I can get better pay too. Ha! Maybe I can also start writing original books to get published.

You lived in New York for a while now, right? What do you think of the city?
It's crowded and noisy but it's home.

How much technology do you use on a daily basis?
Not as much as I had before, that's for sure, but when aren't we using some form of technology?

What do you like?
I like writing a lot. From what I can remember, my parents always told me I was creative.
I did like training and I still regularly go to the gym or fighting rings, but I have to hold back nowadays and it's a bit of a shame.
Thanks to Moronov, I've become quite good at most types of conventional weaponry and martial arts. I still sometimes go to shooting ranges to see if I still got it. I do.
I've come to start keeping little plants around my small apartment.
I like smoking, or rather it's a bad habit I've picked up. Wonderful, isn't it?

What do you dislike?
I suppose I heavily dislike having to work under people. I finally got out of the deal with the devil and I won't easily go back.
I hate staying idle for too long. Maybe it just got drilled into me.
I don't want to lose anyone close to me ever again— so I try to keep people at arm's length.
I hate being known. I prefer being able to work and help from the dark instead of having my mask blown on newspapers. No one listens to the boundaries of vigilantes, unfortunately.

Do you think true evil exists?
No. Not really. Unless there's an actual avatar of evil out there. There probably is honestly.

In the years I've worked under Moronov, I've been to many places around the world. But maybe you don't want to know what I've been doing out there.

Bernard Blythe - My father. I don't remember much about him aside from the fact that he likes coffee and newspapers. I haven't checked in on him ever since my release.

Laura Blythe - My mother. She was much kinder but still overall absent. She's taught me how to be polite and what to touch and not touch, do or not do, because without the ability of fear, I was an unruly child. I haven't checked in on her ever since my release.

Yessir. And yeah! I think so too. If anything, they could have worked with each other before the group got together. Maybe dealing with seedier groups and making sure they don't walk away or smth like that.

Interestingly! Sam was still an active villain when Caty, Danny and Bob first got bitten. I'm not sure if they would have ever crossed paths since Sam dealt mostly in more covert operations but they probably have heard of the group she did work with.
