Confused? Yeah, I was too for the longest time after seeing it on TikTok repeatedly.. and none of the comments gave any real insight as to wtf the trend was about. I more or less got the gist, but I wanted a more in-depth explanation so that I knew my guess wasn't wrong. Put simply, the trend operates on the premise that men think about the Roman Empire more often than women, so often, in fact, that the women in their lives are shocked by the frequency. What is your Roman Empire? Or, in other words, what is an obscure or niche topic that you think about way too much? The range of answers to this question is much broader and can be anything from inside jokes with friends to funny pop culture moments.

Me, personally, my Roman Empire is Gelert∞. Gelert is a legendary wolfhound associated with the village of Beddgelert (whose name means "Gelert's Grave") in Gwynedd, north-west Wales. In the legend, Llywelyn the Great returns from hunting to find his baby missing, the cradle overturned, and Gelert with a blood-smeared mouth. Believing the dog had devoured the child, Llywelyn draws his sword and kills Gelert. After the dog's dying yelp, Llywelyn hears the cries of the baby, unharmed under the cradle, along with a dead wolf that had attacked the child and been killed by Gelert. Llywelyn is overcome with remorse and buries the dog with great ceremony, but can still hear its dying yelp. After that day, Llywelyn never smiles again. The story is a variation of the "Faithful Hound" folk-tale motif, which lives on as an urban legend.

The Montreal Screwjob -

An infamous unscripted professional wrestling incident that occurred on November 9, 1997, at the Survivor Series pay-per-view produced by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) in Montreal. During the WWF Championship match between Shawn Michaels and champion Bret "the Hitman" Hart, WWF owner Vince McMahon and select WWF employees covertly manipulated the predetermined outcome of the match in favor of Michaels; the screwjob occurred without Hart's knowledge, causing him to lose the championship.

@wheels Depends on the type of country for me. I mostly listen to guys like Whiskey Myers and Cody Jinks, or the old school stuff, especially Johnny Cash.

I enjoy finding bridges that build or link Taoism and Buddhism to Eastern Orthodox Christianity.

In simple and short examples, using ikebana to decorate iconography during Feast Days of the Church. Or, understanding the philosophy of wabi-sabi alongside the Greek term oraios β€” both honoring the beauty within the imperfect or fallen state of being. Or, merely Christ being the β€œEternal Tao.”

When there is someone out there that understanding what they are going through

There's a few things, but one of my favorites is, in general, Johnny Yong Bosch.

His career and the trajectory he's had with his life story, too, is very facsinating to me.

Everyone knows he got his start on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as the second black ranger, Adam Park. We also know him as the voice of many anime characters for their various english dubs (Lelouch from Code Geass, Renton Thurston from Eureka 7, and Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach). A lesser known tidbit is his humble, but sadly not very successful musician career with his band Eyeshine and now more recently, Where Giants Fall. But what a lot of people don't know is he taught himself how to play the guitar, how to sing. He met the longtime drummer of his band, Eyeshine, while at church. They formed the band, got a small demo put-together, ended up getting a full band and released their first album. The band had a good amount of lineup changes, but ended up finding stability with Polo Yazaki as the main lead guitarist.

What not a lot of people know is Johnny actually sniped him from another band while they were touring . It's actually hilarious because Polo is the only other member of Where Giants Fall.

There's a lot more about it, especially some of the real life troubles Johnny had post-power rangers and how, for a while, his entire life was in trash bags. sleeping on couches of friends.

Yes I do and I can also go on a tangent about how effed up that entire situation was and how easily it could've been avoided if certain things had happened that didn't.

I have way too many to even count so I will just pull from some that are β€œon hand”. (Aside from my deep study of East Asian histories, cultures, and religion because of both general fascination and my own personal relatability.)

1. I am a huge history nut so aside from the literal Roman Empire various kingdoms, states, and dynasties through history and events surrounding them.

2. How Ayben Ersoy and Mizgin are extremely underappreciated.

3. I have some very select genres and sub-genres of music that I am really into, including things like throat singing and percussive styles.

- How if Caesar would have died just a little sooner, we'd still have the Library of Alexandria.
- The Sumerian tablets and the fact they're locked under the British Museum.
- Anastasia Nikolaevna.
- How most women I speak to know what 'the bag' is. (Or suitcase, necklace, etc).
- How Europe has gone through so much religious persecution, we'll never really know much about the original, true Native people of that land or the gods they worshipped.
- The 70 something year old veteran that handed me a twenty dollar tip in cash and said: "I fought for our freedom, not for our government to rob us."
- The person I would be if my biological father won custody of me and if I had grown up in Virginia.
- Where my first best friend, Jaydon is now. Her mother was a traveling nurse, and she was the new kid in first grade. We spent so many nights at each others houses and then one day she was just gone. Last I heard, she moved to New Mexico.
- The fact that the current depiction of Jesus that most worship is actually a portrait of Micahel Angelo's gay lover.
- Salem Witch Trials.
- The Tudors.
- Death. Mine, someone else's. Murders. Illnesses. Just death.

Cryptobiology. Not in an "I think it's all real" sense but more in the sense that as part of my fandom experience I REALLY enjoy thinking up a bunch of convoluted, pseudo-scientific reasons/explanations for why certain species in my favourite fandoms have certain physical traits or cultural practises.

I spend WAY too much time thinking about it but it's so much FUN and I refuse to stop

Well no one truly knows what Jesus looked like, we can only guess. But anyway. The Catholic church commissioned Michael Angelo to paint Jesus, and the closest Michael had ever been to heaven was with his lover. So yeah. Jesus is a bottom.
