Hot Blooded: Lith 1x1 Thread _____________________________________________________ Hello there. I'm called Lith around these parts. I know what you're thinking deep in the darkest depths of your heart -- get on with it. Don't worry. Let's take it nice and slow.
I am 34 years old, and last I checked, a man. As such, I'd strongly prefer not roleplaying with someone below the age of 18 even if the content matter isn't inappropriate, as that gives me the scientific term "the ick." Don't give me the ick. I'm Lith. That's really mean of you to potentially impose the ick on me, don't do it.
I work fairly long hours Friday-Monday, less so on Monday. Then I'm off Tuesday-Thursday, though I also frequently watch children during that time. Because I'm responsible or something.
I'm currently doing two combat themed roleplays. Note the more things I'm involved with than zero, the less likely I'll be slinging out nonstop posts. What can I say, I get distracted easily.
If content concerns it: far as pairings go, I'll be doing MxF. Myself roleplaying the man, solo character. Obviously if a roleplay isn't centered around romance and dirty degenerate smut written to make the FBI spying on our communications uncomfortable, that isn't really pertinent.
I would fall into the "advanced" category if I so desired. However, I'll gladly scale with what you write. You know what they say. When in the Thunder Dome I think it goes.
However.. there is a bit of a peculiarity to this thread I should fill you in on. Allow me to begin. You see: I took all of my characters and threw 'em in the trash bin. Yes, that sums it up. I need new ones.
I have a staycation coming up on the 13th that'll be going until the 24th, and I'm wanting to write a bunch of new and moderately deranged characters up. Yet, each time I begin, I wind up playing a new roguelike on Steam or buying goats, apparently.
Here I'll show you a picture.
That Tengu was quite the winner. Oh, the goats perhaps.
Look at them. They're furious they're in there and want to kill me. So adorable.
As such, unlikely as it is I'll find someone on here up to the task because it's such a cool task, what I need is a writing partner that will help me write up cool new characters. How? That's a good question. I don't really need your help actually writing it, I use my keyboard really good. No, it's helping me brainstorm and maybe telling me to fuck off and stop playing that game that I need.
Your reward? I dunno. Look I've read some of these 1x1 requests, I'm not tooting my own horn here but I've seen some scary stuff concerning Sonic the Hedgehog, I think you could do worse. Think about that. Then hop in my DMs. Until then I'll ramble here and maybe update the thread once I actually work on any of this! Maybe even with *plots* and *pairings* and whatever is in vogue.
Wow.
I know. I've really outdone myself with this thread thus far.
Alright let's stop messing around, it's time to get to it a little.
Now I've been working on this guy, robot pilot. Has different suits that're kinda like Iron Man suits but less Marvel comics and more PC98 games, don't Google that with safe search off. In fact, don't Google it at all.
Works for a multiverse spanning military compound that Team Rocket style abducts different races, experiments on 'em, makes program backups of their brains. In abstract it's a lot like if you took Mega Man and Armored Core, then handed them to a NSFW hentai maker and said "make this fucked up." I used AI models because I think theft is cool to create assets for him.
Tried him out in a tournament. Verdict: too "broad," I lost pretty bad. And I'm Lith, I'm a lot better than other people. That means this needs more tuning and focusing down. I really need to not make these one hour before I submit them.
Alright, now we hit the abstract. Vague character ideas I got in my head. I'm even gonna make one of these into a sheet sometime on the 9th, because I forgot I have a fight roleplay scheduled. Whoops!
Alright so some example ideas:
-Sorcerer with frog-themed attire/robes. Younger I'm thinking. Whole gimmick would be conjuring rain, but not just from above. From below, from the side-- basically creates miniaturized weather phenomena that ignore the laws of physics. Now how do I write that in such a way where it's reasonable to play with but isn't useless? Yeah I dunno I'll get there. It's cooking. Figure he'll be spry, beanpole build. Jump a lot. You know, to go with the frog motif.
-I wanna create a guy who is morbidly obese. We're talking, he could eat like 15 Honey BooBoo's and go "Sir, may I have another?" My stupid idea on this is a variation on the idea of caloric conversion, combining magic with what he eats to generate extreme heat. I made a kind of prototype of this a while back where it was a chef, but no, I wanna take America's obesity epidemic and weaponize it. Figure I can count calories- as in list how much he has to burn, and how much his spell list burns as his "mana."
-Made a character for a 1x1 RP that went nowhere, but he had a kinda cool gimmick. Could induce adrenaline rushes on command basically. Anxiety basket. Well I wanna try something like that, but useful. A "holy swordsman" type of deal (wielding a spatha maybe? Yeah sure why not) -- who has spells that act as self buffs. Vigor boosts, temporary stat amplifications, really lean into taking time to bring out 140% of what he can do.
-Worshiper of Apophis the long serpent of the outer dark, a deity that has active contempt for humanity but will bestow unnatural strength onto his devotees in exchange for active torture of their person. Basically a "self harm to deal harm" kind of character with this creature constantly trying to tempt him into praying for blessings. Could go a number of ways; enhanced touch and vision for precise firing of a firearm in exchange for making him anemic after as an example. Or may make him a mauler with a spiked mace and have a strength surge literally decompose his limbs in a fixed order, it's cooking. Point is, former guy I want to make "using magic to help bring out his top end" emphasizing speed, while this guy, with more of a deliberate and methodical combat approach, I'm wanting to emphasize using what's functionally magic to unnaturally go beyond in exchange for debilitating side effects. Energy drink versus underground market steroids.
-A bird. Some kinda moderately large parrot. I want this to be a talking parrot. Cyborg eyes.
-A gilded skeleton or a mummy perhaps. Guy would basically phase in and out of his pre and post death state. Would have a preordained fixed rhythm so both he and a potential victim would be able to pick up on it. Could probably work into his origins a bastardization of the tale of Dumuzi, only have him be this preservation obsessed lunatic that engineers the gilded armors of his sacred entourage the high undead. Or something, I dunno.
That's seven, I still want a few more and of course, all of these need to graduate from the idea bubble phase.
Well you read it. Get to it. I want it on my desk.
On my desk.
Already got some excellent ideas re:the frog mage with a much appreciated contributor. Possible grippli ancestry, an atavism effect? Elongated tongue, a casting implement, manipulation of rain and wind, bodily manifestation of suction cups and the like to allow better movement in the face of his own weather conditions.
