Aethel is still standing there in the office, wide eyes frozen on his father’s corpse. He hears Xavier entering to ask what the hell is going on when Rowan sprints past him, but everything sounds like it’s an echo.
“Aethel!” Xavier puts a hand on his shoulder but his brother remains stock still. That’s when the sickening thought occurs - Killian must have been taken too.
He leaves the office, running after the other Alpha and following him to the stage.
“Killian’s gone, Rowan…” He says, dropping all pretenses by using his first name as he tries to calm down himself.
“He’s not answering my calls.” He runs a hand through his hair as everything starts to set in - his father is dead and his potential mate is missing.
“Follow me,” Xavier hops on the stage and leads Rowan through the back door the Omegas would have taken. He throws open the doors to the dressing room they usually had the Omegas in and finds it empty except for a few cats that had been helping their high values with makeup and costumes.
“What happened…?” He struggles to keep his tone gentle; he knows these Omegas didn’t have anything to do with what is happening, but it’s hard not to think of what could be happening to Killian right now.
“They’ll kill us!” One of the cats cries out, shaking their head at Xavier in complete fear and holding another cat that’s shaking. Xavier furrows his brow - he knows he comes off as rough and intimidating. He looks to Rowan for help, feeling like he can guess who’s behind all of this.
