[IC] The Dragon Rebellion

Flames flickered across Rex's skin and clothes, sparks cast from his fingers. "Keep your forked tongue behind your pointed teeth," he hissed; it was an insult, both towards the dragons and the person directed at.

[BlitheCrescent]

Nacine shakes her head. "We wait for the others."

[Krein]

Merus smiled, then mimicked the flicking motion of a serpent's tongue with his own. A chill grew from his body, directing itself at Rex.

"What's the matter, can't take a joke? You've been fantasizing over the biggest joke of all already, so what's a bit more fuel to your fledgling fires?"

[Miraboreasu]

"Biggest joke?" Rex growled.

[Krein]

"Yes, that pathetic girl you've taken such a liking towards," Merus said, clear scorn in his voice for his feelings and the very concept they embodied. "It is beyond me how the dragons did not devour you at a young age. Your heart is weak, falling so easily to someone who speaks with honeyed words."

[Miraboreasu]

That was almost literal gasoline on the fire. The black and blue flames surged outwards to form the shape of dragon wings, and Rex's eyes turned from silver to gold. This wasn't any sort of choice; it was what naturally happened when Rex was pushed too far. The heat of the flames began pushing the ice back. "You go too far, Warrior of Snow and Slush," he growled.

[Krein]

"No, sometimes I restrain myself I bit too much," Merus growled. The icy aura around the Acolyte intensified, Merus's very presence causing the plantlife around him to frost over and wilt, and the stones and earth to freeze. The cold and ice fought back against Rex's flames until they were no longer being truly dominated by them. Skeletal, icy dragon wings formed behind Merus, though they were not necessarily connected to his body. Instead, they seemed to be suspended behind him.

"All this, and for what? A few remarks about a random member of our order?"

Nacine, all the way back in the meeting place, would be able to feel these drastic temperature changes. "Crap.....I asked him to go get Klostrun, not start the war early...." She sighs and looks at Aaliyah. "Looks like this party might be getting started earlier than we thought."

[Miraboreasu]

"She's my friend! She was the only one who accepted me when you and your lot cast me aside. I was the kid everyone pushed around. She taught me to stand up and fight for what I believe in." Rex took a step forward. "And right now, I believe you're distracting me from getting my money by putting down my friends. If I ever hear you speaking ill of them again, I'll boil all of the water in your body into steam in a heartbeat, consequences be damned."

[Krein]

"That is if you can even think of such a thing before I freeze you solid from the inside out and then shatter you to pieces," Merus retorted. "As for 'my lot', you're gravely mistaken. I do not have, and never have had, a 'lot' I belong to."
Merus boldly took a step towards the angry Rex, looking into his golden, fiery eyes with his own eyes of glowing, dark blue an cold.
"It's hilarious for me to hear you say she accepted you when no one else would, that only proves your weakness. I am without bonds to anyone but the dragons, and as such... I am self-sufficient. I taught myself, I fended for myself, I did and do everything by myself. Now, go collect your money."

Rex went to find his quarry, the flames spreading more until they formed a coat over his body, including a tail of flames. When he was out of range, he let out an aggravated roar and hurled a fireball at the ground beneath him. He was at a level of pissed off that nobody had seen for some time.

Klostrun was half way through his rounds of threating the temples plants when he noticed Rex's inferno. "By the dragons' tails! Rex!" He called as he slowly walked over to him. "Calm down mate you're going to kill flowers!" He yelled and pointed to the withering plants. "Not to mention you might melt the temple! So I'm telling you once calm down and cool off or I have to put you out!"

Nacine blinks. "No...something's off. He's..." She shakes her head. "Someone pissed him off. If we even get close, we'll be fried."

Aaliyah shakes her head, she was a living ice sculpture even if she would melt she could last for a long while. "Whatever, I thought you wanted to help him."

Nacine shakes her head and sits back down. "Get yourself killed, if you want."

"You're needed," Rex growled before stalking off, pausing only to absorb the flames he'd cast.

Klostrun simply let out a sigh and shook his head. "Hot head." He said with a roll of his eyes before walking off in search of Nacine and Aaliyah.

Rex found Nacine and Aaliyah. "Klotsrun's on his way," he reported. He'd cooled down a bit, but his body temperature was still higher than normal.

Nacine nods. "Alright."
