Hello all
Some time back I was part of a Westmarch style Play-by-Post D&D game. Now that game has been over for some time, I find myself missing group RP, as I've only ever had 1x1 roleplays since. I enjoy those, but there's always a bit of a yearning to be part of a group, and making stories together, and I'm hoping I can find that here, if I can manage to figure out how this site works lol.
Fantasy settings are my lifeblood, and long term, story-based RP is what I live for. I mean, that, and really good food.

Question, how does the process for joining a section usually go?

Welcome! This guide has pretty much all the info you need, but as a quick overview: you can look in the Interest Check topics to find people gauging interest for games that haven't started yet, and you can check the status of active topics (either "Jump In", "Apply", or "Full") to see which games are accepting new people and what the process is for joining.

Pretty much what ctrl said above, though I will add if you browse the roleplay sections and find one you like, be sure to check which tab you are about to post in. This forum does not have separate threads for IC and OOC, instead everything is in one thread under different tabs, so make sure you ask questions in the OOC tab (or just PM the RP's GM/OP). This isn't applicable for interest check sections, just the actual roleplay sections!

Just to add, posting on the OOC tab of an RP you are interested in, if that RP is not full, may be preferred to PMing them.
