Gil doesn't value power. He values his things. Power's irrelevant. He seems himself as superior because w sees everything as his. Iskander's the same way. Gil sees everything as his object; Iskander sees everything as his subject. You should also probably check out other Fate materials besides Zero, Gil's more than you're making him out to be~

He's talking about something Gen, the creator of Fate Zero, went off about. It's how Gilgamesh values objects while Iskander values people, and though their ego is the same what they place value in is different, hence their very different outlooks on the world.

It's less that they're same in personality, but same in the level of ego they have.

It's a video game that hasn't been localized to Europe or the States yet. It's called Fate/Extra CCC, you can play as a master with servants in a holy grail war. You can have EMIYA, Tamamo no Mae, Nero, or Gilgamesh.

In the original Fate/Extra, you could only get the first three. Also, Fate/Extra is translated while CCC isn't. The gameplay for Extra is horrible, but the story and interaction with your servant is great. It's the same with CCC, though you can skip the combat there. They expand a lot on Gilgamesh and his motivations, and while he's still an arrogant dick, he's more... understandable, I should say? Still, it won't make you like the character if you already have a great disliking of him.

Also, the glory of its grimdark contrasting with comedy every five seconds.
