I briefly flirted with the idea of becoming a teacher, I took some courses in education and one of those was how to teach elementary math. I figured it would be easy, shit was almost as complicated as algebra because they had us learn all these sort of things (like mbl's picture) and all sorts of 'tricks' to help students figure out how to do basic math. Looking at it as an adult who already knows how to do basic math, it seemed overly complicated but if you think back to when you were first learning, the visual aids can help children understand the concept. In particular, children that are visual or tactile learners. Of course, it is not for everyone, just like learning straight from the book's written or a teacher's verbal explanation is not going to get through to all the students.

Have you seen how they're being taught to do math now?

Eh, that looks like a first grade math thing in the embedded image, whereas the link looks like the stuff I was expected to have down perfectly by the start of third grade. The basic visualization and taking stuff in multiple steps is how they start teaching math to ease kids into it, but it gets into real math quickly enough.

I heard freshman girls telling the band members (some were my friends) to stop playing their instruments, they just move somewhere else. And before I left, I heard them talking about liking Miley Cyrus, Justin Beiber, and other bad bands. I think the GIF below shows what I wanted to do to them while they were talking.

Tell me that you agree that this generation is one of the worst.

I feel this generation has a lot of problems that we can look at previous generations for causing, we can also look at society today and see how these problems come to play.

However, them liking miley cyrus, or being a belieber <3 isn't intrinsically wrong. Them being rude, or inconsiderate, sure. However instead of simply hating on them, allowing their behaviour to effect you. You should consider just seeing them for what they are, a product of their environment. And, when you realize that you too, are a product. You can consciously make the effort and commitment not only to rise above their shit, and become non-reactive to it. But also manage and help these people by having the more toned and sharpened emotional, physical, and mental faculties that you acquire. And, to top it off, also able yourself into giving some insight to why you are the way you are, and able to shed or fortify aspects of you that you find useful or useless.

But 90% of people don't. Which is why 90% of people alive today aren't going to be doing much better in 5 years time.

It is asking how you should subtract 13-7 to first make 10, then actually solve the answer. So 13-3-4. Ridiculous.
