A few years prior to the current time, 2014, humanity finally took more firm notice on the unknown. Beings of supernatural ability and power were brought into light, they were colonized in sect groups all around the world, though there were still many that went under the radar. But humans tried so very hard, deeming this necessary to keep the world stable, to the point a world wide treaty was formed for them to be 'treated as equals'. But the treaty really did nothing to aid them, it only let those who knew nothing of them, know everything. Images of abuse and utter maliciousness against the supernatural is shown all over the news on a daily basis, if you haven't seen one, you've read about it in a paper, heard about it in school or from a friend.
Though they were not looked down upon by everyone, thankfully. Many groups and the such supported them, assisting through crisis and the such. This lead to many human-like offspring with superhuman abilities and powers. But this only helped add fuel to the fire.
I.S.B was created. The Institute of Supernatural Beings. A school founded by Guennean (Guen) Avalon Freil, a Celtic witch of high social standing among all of all supernatural kind. A simple school was not just enough for her, though. Using a great deal of her feared power, she put the school within a special barrier to protect it from prying, human eyes. None were able to enter the barrier unless granted permission, many tried and many failed. Even terrorist attacks were thwarted by this impressive barrier protecting the children of the supernatural while they continued to grow in a world that was unaccepting of them. She had gone to the extent of making it a paradise when it was most needed.
A bit more on the school: They go around gathering children from the ages of 12-18 that are within the realm of the supernatural, taking them to the school to take stress away from the constant and daily hate of society. While it functions as a regular school, it also has many advanced and special classes for the young teenagers. The classes range from simple mathematics all the way to magic 101. There is even combat training courses for those who fit the marks and criteria.
Where i would essentially like this to go is nowhere terribly specific,I want most of it to move with the characters excluding some minor details such as getting to the end of their fourth year etc. things that need to happen eventually or we would just be running in circles. otherwise i would like it to be like a wide open door to all who wish to be part of it. Monster type standards aren't high, you can be anything from a Human with supernatural powers to an elemental being to a kitsune all the way to a Lamia. I would love to see it thrive in a colorful fashion. the Character Sheet skeleton will go up when i see how much interest the idea has gotten and if you have any questions feel free to PM me or leave a post, ill try and keep this post up to date on any questions asked so there is no need for a large amount of un-needed scrolling, seeing as I've most likely missed more than i realize lol...
