Apparently they found some stuff they didn't find before. They said it shouldn't be too serious, and that I should be able to ship out on time for Basic, but I'll have to see wait the Army thinks about my injuries. Tomorrow I should be free to post though. No doctor appointments or anything.

Just take your time, there's no use risking your health for the forces. Trying to remember the guy's name from the old guild, MLK or something? He ended up never being allowed to fly again because of a foot injury he never let heal.

I've just been waiting until you're better, considering my posts matter towards yours right now and vice-versa.

I don't know if this is true for the Army, but I believe the Navy doesn't care as long as you don't break anything. Army may be different since it's more infantry based.

The Navy don't care so long as you have a working hand (just one) since you're on a boat for most if not all of your time...surrounded by other men.

And people wonder why the Navy have such a bad reputation.

The Army, however, would question you if you wear glasses or have boobs.

Look, I know you're opinionated, but I would appreciate it if you'd keep blatant disrespect to yourself.

Kalama do you believe in stereotypes?

My grandad was in the Navy and it's not really changed, except they actually DO things nowadays. Maybe. I'm quite serious about the 'you can be in the Navy with one working hand' when one of the guys he had was nearly fully paralysed after a shrapnel blast but worked on navigation.

He even knew of one badass guy who literally held in his guts and ran to their ships like that, despite that the guy survived and was just all like 'please stitch me up, thanks'.

During WW2, they say all these big Navy things happened but it was actually extremely rare which is why certain events are pretty well known in history books. The most he did was roam around Egyptian waters and the guys would throw food over the walls for all the poor people to eat, other than that nothing happened despite the boat being huge and pretty badass looking.

Mogtaki, the military is pretty much bad in all branches to start with. Like army men shooting dogs just to see how many bullets it can take?

I was mostly getting tired of all the negative with little positive, but I'm good now that you've said more.

And the whole "one hand" thing doesn't apply anymore. Now, even something as minor as a titanium shoulder that works perfectly well is enough to disqualify you.

Well you're going to have to live with it when everything has stereotypes while being often true, like how Iranian women really do train in ninjutsu; they have an army of 3000 trained female ninjas.

I never said I don't believe in stereotypes. I'm guilty of them as well. I was basically saying the military's not all bad, because you were saying little that was actually positive. You forget that the US Military (in particular, the Army) gave us the internet, to state one good part.

Just try not to be so negative about it. It really isn't horrible, but I won't be the one to call it perfect, like the whole titanium shoulder issue my friend's having. They're way too strict with their standards for qualification. I saw a guy get disqualified (but able to continue trying to enlist) just because they "thought" they heard something with his heart.

The US Military didn't give us what you're thinking, a British man by the name of Tim Berners-Lee gave us the World Wide Web which is what we're using currently (websites, downloads, entertainment etc). The internet by itself is just a long-distance fax machine. EVERYTHING we're using currently is because of Tim.

Don't get the internet and the WWW confused, even if it is so easy to do when you don't know the difference. The guy was even at the Olympics in London.

You know, if you're trying to defend the US military...don't try. The stereotype of us non-US citizens not liking the US military is very, very true and I'd rather this stay out of a Zelda thread considering it's nothing to do with it. All you're going to do is heighten it.

And then it continued and continued and continued, so it can stop now. It's just getting to the point where it feels like a TV show you really weren't bothered with until everyone started going on and on about it, then it just feels a bit ech.

PS. I didn't mind the US Army at the start of the convo, now after it's dominated the convo for a while...

And I just hope you don't get the impression that I idolize the US military, because I don't. It has flaws, just like any institution, but it's one of the better routes to go when leaving high school, especially considering I can't afford college and I refuse to take out a student loan. I'd rather not leave college owing almost ten thousand dollars to some company or the government.
