one my dogs had surgery yesterday too, She was yelping in pain one night and mum realised her other knee kept dislocating like her other did few years back. She looks so sad laying there with bandage D:

And yeah D: She was yelping alot and last night she was so sad and tired after her surgery D: and dad was like iugh should have put her down she is getting older anyways, she'd only have few years left . Shes half way through her life maybe but just because he wont spend 1300 dollars>>

Aw, poor girl... And that's terrible. She's alive too and its stupid that we have the power to put down animals when they aren't truly ill. If there's no chance and it is for the better, then yeah. But otherwise... No. It's illegal to do it to humans...
