Hey guys, so El_Tigre has promoted me to co-GM, and I would like to make an important announcement regarding currency so you can get an idea of how it works. Feel free to change your inventory to accommodate for things like an oxygen tank, but again, please explain in detail how one would have run across something rare/expensive. The biggest addition to your inventory would be an oxygen tank. You're going to need one for traveling unless your character doesn't need oxygen.
Copper = 1 Krell
Silver= 10 Krell
Gold = 50 Krell
Platinum = 100 Krell
Adranium = 500 Krell
It's made this way so you can purchase things that have no material requirement (such as a luxury hotel) without having an Adranium coin.
Copper, silver, and gold are the most common forms of payment, and most jobs only pay in these forms.
Raw Adranium can only be found in radation zones, but due to the dangerous creatures and high radiation levels, it is unwise to spend too much time trying to mine raw adranium.
One ounce of raw adranium can be turned into 5 adranium coins.
Difficult or rare jobs and the occasional odd ones offer platinum coins, and the most difficult ones offer adranium.
You can use your own discretion when deciding how much payment is received for a specific job, but please use sound judgment or ask in OOC first if you're not sure. For example, you can't expect to be paid 500 Krell for protecting a merchant caravan carrying common goods for a day's journey. Such a job would most likely be a tenth of that.
The average hunter will make 1-3 Krell for every pound of meat depending on the type of meat they harvest. There can be rare types of meat, but a pound of meat should never have to cost anyone a platinum or adranium krell..
Food, water and drink usually go for a few krell. However, more luxurious things will be more expensive.
The standard price for a cheap hotel (and by cheap, I mean a bed and a roof over your head) is 10 krell. More lavish hotels are available, but can be costly depending on where you are.
A day's worth of oxygen costs 50 krell and can be purchased at eco-generators. You obviously need an oxygen tank, but luckily, science has made smaller portable oxygen tanks. The average oxygen tank can hold as much as three days worth of oxygen, costs 10 krell, but is heavy and bulky. You can purchase different, more expensive tanks that hold more oxygen, are more durable, are smaller and lighter. Pre-filled oxygen tanks can be bought and sold as well.
Armor and weapons vary depending on the rarity, strength, and attributes and may require platinum and adranium krell for more powerful weapons. This includes biohazard suits. A simple biohazard suit is probably not enough to protect you from the monsters that lurk in the radiation zones, so be prepared to pay a hefty price if your character can't withstand radiation. Please use sound judgment when naming your price, and if you're unsure, please ask in OOC.
A box of standard FMJ bullets would cost 500 krell for a box of 6 rounds. Though individually they would cost 100 krell. Other bullets will vary in price and may only come individually, such as ammo for sniper rifles, shotgun shells or high caliber bullets. Please use sound judgment when naming your price, and if you're unsure, please ask in OOC.
Technology varies depending on its rarity, but the high end hardware can only be bought with platinum and adranium. Please use sound judgment when naming your price, and if you're unsure, please ask in OOC.
Powerful Inscriptionists only accept Adranium, but some basic runes can be purchased with platinum or a lot of gold. Please use sound judgment when naming your price, and if you're unsure, please ask in OOC.
